Roostercat Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 So, if you get enough brain damage, what happens is you get a lovely message telling you that you don't remember jack shit about what happened to you. This is understandable. The only problem is, this is the same thing that happens every time. And is hard to make fun correctly. My suggestion then being that we take all the mental traumas, and slide them into a pool of things that can happen if you receive too much brain trauma. This would make it so that A: It isnt the same damn trauma every time, it gets old very fast. And B: the psyche has something to do with their life. Ranging from simple abnormal phobias to imaginary friends. Maybe leave out the ones that just spam you with red text.
MattAtlas Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 it isn't a trauma btw i would rather remove brain damage effects than re-add traumas in any case
Roostercat Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 Yes, I would honestly be fine with just removing it
GreenBoi Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Oh, would you look at that, someone's advocating for something we lost, almost like psych having a mechanical responsibility isn't that bad and some people actually enjoy thi-- Just remove the memory loss thing, I planned on suggesting that weeks ago- when we first got brainmed. Memory-loss RP is pretty boring because you don't know how much you SHOULD remember, and sometimes you really don't want to just fucking forget everything and go "HUHHH? I KNEW YOU?" If people want to do memory rp, they can rp that themselves because that power should be left to special devices or self-inflicted rp- not brain damage (which is easy to accumulate if you aren't playing super safe)
SleepyWolf Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 maybe an easier thing to do would be 'You forget everything that happened in the past hour...' It gives you enough room to maybe remember something at the beginning of the round so your character has a HAZY idea of what to remember.
BurgerBB Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 It's a dumb effect that interrupts roleplay and forces you to play someone else practically. I really don't like it when it occurs and makes me want to cryo every round.
N8-Toe Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I think having it be "you do not have good memory of the events of your injury" works and doesn't hinder RP. and would prevent people waking up from getting put to an inch of their life and going "IT WAS JIM!"
Alberyk Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 The message tells that you don't remember the events related to the injury, not your entire life.
Gangstafary Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Supporting, mental trauma barely has a chance of happening, and being trauma or not, the amnesia message gets old and boring really fast.
Lolziam Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Just shows that people are not paying attention to the little box with clear messages on it. Like stated above, you only do not remember what led to your death. So basically the last 5 to 10 minutes
