Guest Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Please. This is a hilarious mechanic that deserves to make its return. Whoever committed it out is a total fucking loser and is the reason why "Thanks baycode" is such a meme right now.
SierraKomodo Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 One of the reasons* Honestly, I'd suggest considering posting this on the github. It might fall more under a bug-report worthy thing since this existed on old code but isn't in new code. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/issues
Garnascus Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 no, fuck throwbatonning! The thought process of "SUSPECT IS FLEEING I BETTER THROW THIS FUCKIN BATON" is mindbogglingly dumb.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 no, fuck throwbatonning! The thought process of "SUSPECT IS FLEEING I BETTER THROW THIS FUCKIN BATON" is mindbogglingly dumb. But it's so fucking fun. And a failure rate of 50% makes it fair.
Guest Menown Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 The thing is, it no longer works, since halloss. It's no longer an instant stun unless the guy's already in pain, so it won't really work like it used to.
Garnascus Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 But it's so fucking fun. And a failure rate of 50% makes it fair. Ok it is hilarious, ill give you that. stun-baton-spears might be a fair compromise.
Conservatron Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 hm... i can see it now. Engineering breaks into armory, steals all riot shields. marches down the hallway, hardsuits on, shields up. they let fly the stun spears and then draw their screwdrivers to gouge the eyes out of the fallen sec officers while one moves from the back with a flamethrower

witchbells Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 The thing is, it no longer works, since halloss. It's no longer an instant stun unless the guy's already in pain, so it won't really work like it used to. Which is dumb and frankly one of the many things we need to fix.
Carver Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 As long as it does pain damage and not insta-stun so the belt full of stun batons isn't viable against Nukies like it used to be. Either way tho this isn't a feature I really mind being gone, the less RNG 'ggnore' nonsense the better. You have a taser and a gun, use one of those.
Hatley Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I reckon it could work if it was something like a 20% chance, a success rate that'd make it something of a last ditch effort. Perhaps with a lowered chance for each consecutive toss, so you can't just hurl a dozen batons at somebody.
Gollee Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 holodamage; like you get from tasers, holodeck gloves and swords, and the various. Also called pain damage.
Valkrae Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I enjoyed it, and I want it back in my life. Please.
UnknownMurder Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 No. Security needs to 'git gud'. You have a taser gun for a reason... Use It. Stun Batons are for CQC, that only Officer Graves is trained in.
Arrow768 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Throwbatton, Really ? I dont see what would be the advantage of throwing a stun batton at a target. Even if they get hit and dont catch it, then its useless because instastun is no longer a thing.
Carver Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Theoretically if it still existed, it would instastun because it was coded for that. Changing the rest of the baton to non-stun would not change it at all due to how it worked.
