BYOND Key: Mystery of Darkness.

Character Names: Peter Johannson and S.H.E.L.L.

Species you are applying to play: Unathi

What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):A light sand-like tone.

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race: The Unathi culture is extremely interesting, they show multiple key points in their lore such as the multiple Hegemonies and the war between the Izweski Hegemony and the Traditionalist Coalition, also known as the Contact war, the lore page has lots of information about the early Unathi life such as how they began creating a language through scratching wooden tablets with their talons, which then evolved into dipping their talons with Peizi berries to write a rudimentary language, staining their talons and revealing their interest with the ancient Unathi languages, the Unathi also show strong honor relations and have a focus on tradition, which seems like a very interesting thing to roleplay as and can make a good character.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They are currently living in a Wasteland destroyed by the war between the Izweski Hegemony and the Traditionalist Coalition, struggling to get food outside of the Untouched Lands, making many refugees migrate to them and some even leave Moghes seeking to advance technology along with the Humans and Skrell civilizations, their culture is very different to the human one and they tend to express their emotions through multiple actions which seem odd to humans, leading to very good roleplays involving their culture, honor and tradition while allowing multiple types of characters related to the key Unathi Lore events.

Character Name: Aiossao Siarki

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Aiossao Siarki was born in an area close to where the Wastelands would be a few years before the exchange of atomic bombs, living his first years in a clan of Fishermen named Siarki, they made a small business and began to rise through the great empire of guilds, forming their own guild composed of Clan members and a few outsiders, Aiossao wondered about the space as he studied in a local school and the surprises it might offer, reading multiple books full of ancient knowledge passed down each generation of his Clan. The Clan allied with the Izweski Hegemony to seek protection from Traditionalist Coalition even though their views about the introduction of alien technology were slightly different than most Clans supporting the Izweski Hegemony, they kept the information inside the Clan for their own safety as Aiossao trained in the arts of fishing with the most experienced with his guild for a few years before the atomic exchange began, the first bomb was dropped, making the Clan enter panic in fear of more bombs, which saddly happened, they attempted to find a way to escape the growing Wasteland through the weeks, praying for their safety, they had the luck to survive the bombs, but will the effects stop? Will the pain stop? They didn't know, they were confused, the world kept changing even after the capture of Darakath, the loosely organized Coalition fading away with the years as the raiders attacked, was it the end?

The Siarki began to form a stable business after a while, the Wasteland spreading across the lands like a fire spreads across the forests, they were surrounded by the dangerous desert, watching the waves of refugees seek safety in the Untouched Lands, they began to get worried about the safety of the Clan, planning about it's long-term future, Aiossao began training in his guild's University, wishing to keep his Clan's hopes of surviving alive, their little town basically in an IV drip, the few members terrified of the multiple possibilities, what if a new war happened? What if someone used a weapon of mass destruction near their little town? Aiossao's true talent was managing the business of the guild instead of helping it through direct actions like some of the members, he couldn't make a solid "masterpiece", putting him a difficult situation because he would have to show his skills to judges, but managing the guild can't be done as a single action, showing his ability to make the guild rise by informing the Master Managers of ways to make it gain more wealth, they executed his plan for a few months, the judges observing every situation, it worked, making it gain a little over what they expected. Aiossao was now a Master Manager, his Clan used part of their riches to send him and more members of the guild to Ouerea.

Aiossao Siarki spent his first days there unemployed, seeking for opportunities around New Skalamar as he attempted to understand the last books from his Clan's library along with the knowledge his Clan's elders, which were also part of the guild, told him as he trained to become a Master Managaer, (Small note: I know the books are slightly uncommon (for males, they are even rarer for women) because of the emphasis on oral traditions in Unathi culture) hoping to honor his Clan's elders, he found a job in a small store and managed the supplies for a small amount of money, well, he had enough to buy a small house for the next years, and did so while gaining the other employees' respect over the first year while searching for a new job opportunity, he wanted to increase his guild's business even more, finding a chance to work in a NanoTrasen station in the Supply department as a Quartermaster, taking a shuttle to the Aurora Station (NanoTrasen afforded it) and working as a Quartermaster, Aiossao still keeps contact with his Clan and guild, informing them about everything happening.

What do you like about this character? Aiossao began as an ordinary child with no objectives for the future but the Contact War's after-effects changed him and made him live for his Clan's honor, turning into the hope they always needed after years of hard work to achieve his dream, but isn't exactly the most happy person because of the "What would have happened if it didn't happen?" question, I wish to play as this character because I want him to develop and form a solid personality working as Quartermaster for many shifts.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? I tend to mix my OOC feelings with the IC ones, which is a visible issue, I'm not exactly the best roleplayer either, but not the worst one, I can range from 5/10 to 7/10, tending to stay around 6/10.

Hello, thanks for your opinion! I, however, don't see it s bad security play, as I rolled for Changeling in that round, thanks for helping, I'll be sure to improve!

Most of the times I have seen you around, the following happens; you start trouble/ a fight with someone, start yelling over caps in character, then starts to fight, gets beaten/arrested and start complaining over looc and ahelp. This happened a lot, and seems to be really common at the point that you got a complaint over it. That is not something I expect from someone that wants to be whitelisted for any species, I am going to go with a -1 due to your behavior in the server.

You were not a changeling during the incident with Byrd.

The same doesn't apply to S.T.U.N.B.A.T.O.N. my current character, I noticed this actually happens in part of the rounds because of how empty most of my characters are, this one has a light comical tone to it but is still a serious borg, it's only gimmicks aren't harmful to the playerbase's integrity and still feels like an actual synthetic being bounded by laws.

I choose not to chime in your complaint regarding the similar behavior activities the just occurred again. As a Security Cyborg S.T.U.N.B.A.T.O.N, you rushed at Edgar Dawngaurd despite his threat not to move whilst holding up a grenade. You may have been successful in capturing Edgar Dawngaurd but you chose to neglect one of your main responsibilities as a synthetic, to uphold your laws. In doing so, you have allowed a harm to a crew member, Security Officer Drake Bond being impacted by a grenade.

To me as a roleplay oriented player, this shows that you will do whatever it takes to get the antagonist down, even to neglect your main responsibilities.

Hello darkness my new friend, I've come to talk with you again. Because a vision of crazy surgeons. Left its mark whilst I was snoring. And the vision, that was planted in my brain,(like the shrapnel) still remains. The vision, of crazy surgeons.

Memes aside, That one round you played doctor as Peter Johannson really made me not want to ever see that character as a doctor ever again. As AI that round, I was convinced you were an antag, starting fights with the bartender and punching them. My ultimate fear is that you see Unathi as some sorta Klingonsque warrior species that will only reinforce the way you currently play, which is horribly. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you need to prove it through consistent character roleplay

I had a painful experience with them as CMO. A patient is brought in, and he basically just kept dragging them around while they were bleeding while a paramedic chased him to try and at least stop the bleeding. And then when I confronted him about it he tried saying that it was all the paramedic's fault and that he should be brought to justice and then refused to hand over his ID and medical equipment when I told him he would be suspended. And then immediately went to cryo. My problem with this player is that it seems like they are unable to accept the consequences of their actions if it doesn't go their way, which is pretty bad as a player because it makes everything difficult as hell for not much in the way of reason. I don't think players like this should be rewarded with white lists of any kind. -1 from me on this.

I've only interacted with Peter, and it was such a disgusting experience that I set a space bear on him. He ignored the Captain twice, and the detective which resorted to me getting involved, him getting mad, a space bear teleporting in, and me deciding to let it maul him to get him out of cargo.

Peter is a jerk of a character, but that might be intended. Even so, refine it alittle.

Recently handed the OP a 3 day ban a little while ago for threatening another player in LOOC with complaints/bans. And generally just being an ass beyond the line of what is even socially acceptable.

Said individual responded in an arrogant fashion when questioned about it and felt it more appropriate to cast blame on other individuals without looking at their own behavior first and accepting responsibility for consequences occurring from actions they took. Proof, in an imgur gallery for reference: http://imgur.com/a/mmaye

I feel this is conduct unbecoming of a player first and foremost. A player that acts in such an entitled, aggressive way probably is not deserving of having a whitelist, especially since there are aspects of the Unathi subculture that unfortunately appeal to loose-cannon kinds of players. I believe it'd be a mistake to allow such a player to have the whitelist if they neither understand the kind of ooc standard they should be setting when interacting with members of the playerbase at-large, and what kind of IC standard they should be setting when their track record both IC and OOC are in question.

Guest Marlon Phoenix

Hello,

I've let this application sit for a bit longer than usual to see if there would be any change in the behavior presented by several players earlier in the thread. The behavior has not changed, and the culumination of the temporary ban has put a pin on my hopes. I do not feel that allowing someone who is known to be violent and unreasonable in their IC interactions would bring the unathi playerbase any positive interactions, within itself or with non-unathi players.

I encourage you to work to improve your behavior and reapply when you feel ready.

Application denied.
