1. Application accepted after a successful trial. Welcome to the team.
2. Coalf will be contacting you for an interview within the next few days.
3. My main piece of feedback from your interview is this: It is generally best to keep LOOC and moderation seperate, especially in the case of a player who's actions are in conflict with the rules. Note that administrative feedback sent to myself and Berry is the bottom line for whether or not applications go through, and your previous notes play a big part in this. Personally, I'm vouching for you. You'll recieve word within two days, apologies for the short delay.
4. Flamingo will be contacting you for an interview shortly.
5. You accumulated 6 notes in less than a week, and have already attempted to appeal, which was denied. Appeal denied, wait until June to apply again.
6. Trial started on May 20, and will run until June 20.
7. Due to me being away for the past few days, Juani is taking over this complaint. A post will be made within 40 hours. Apologies for the delay.
8. You'll be contacted for an interview within the next couple of days. In the meantime: Please include something here.
9. Quick notification that I'll be handling this complaint. Here is the actual ban reason:
10. You cannot appeal one day bans, or bans that have already expired, as you're already unbanned from the server. If you with to make a complaint regarding the ban itself and how it was conducted, you can do so here. Appeal denied.
11. Over the past few months a lot of code changes have happened, many quality of life features have been introduced and some old problems with abuse were fixed. You can no longer spam throws, since they're dispelled when you throw a person, regardless of how close the target tile is, and people are able to resist just by moving. However, in the process, grabs have been rendered almost completely non-functional. People can walk out of your grab before it registers, you're able to spam resist by just holding an arrow key. I understand that some areas of the code were outdated and these could be considered quality of life features, but the way it's been executed is removing the depth that made combat actually somewhat fun here. In the past, you could disarm somebody with a grab and use their weapon against them like something straight out of a karate film if you knew what you were doing and practiced, but now that's not possible, since they will just teleport out of it or resist without even trying: Your only option is to spam disarm, and that's not fun for anybody. On throws: I totally understand the decision to dispell the grab when you throw somebody, it makes sense and removes the ability to spam throws, however an alternative could be to just add a hardcoded delay on throws so that you're still able to throw people to adjacent tiles without your wrists suddenly exploding, think wrestling moves. I know there were some antag-only books added that enable similar wrestling combos, but most of these things were already possible with old grabs, and I really don't like the idea of CQC being in the lame and broken state it is right now unless you have an uplink. On the lag/delays: As said, more often than not if you try to grab somebody, they will just lag out of the grab before the game registers it. It's as frustrating as it is hilarious to see a nurse walk out of an Officer's grab without even realising he's trying to grab them. One option could be to consider porting bay's new grabs. They register a lot faster, and you're able to get into a blue grab quicker in turn, it retains some of the depth of our grab code that made combat dynamic such as headbutting, disarming, etc. Since it's faster they're able to have neat things like requiring a grab to apply handcuffs, which we just couldn't have right now because our grabcode doesn't work. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's nostalgia for what combat used to be like here, and the newer, much more fast-paced and simple combat is more fun and accessible for newer and older players alike and it's better this way. What do you nerds think?
12. I'll be handling this complaint. To quote Nursie's response to your appeal: I'm afraid I am also inclined to disbelieve, this is not helped by the fact that you are already known to lie to staff. If you did need to leave, you should have ahelped, or even just said something in LOOC. There was no reason to ghost directly after being arrested. The ban is staying, you can appeal it again in a month, but acceptance isn't guaranteed. Locking and archiving in 24 hours.
13. each and every one of them
14. its true they're all whores
15. Appeal accepted.
16. Hi, sorry for the delayed reply here. Aurora's Security is not military, it's a Security team, and while use of lethal force when the situation demands it is generally an IC requirement for them to stay employed, it's absolutely not out of the question that an Officer could be hired while not expecting to ever have to use a lethal weapon. Context does not change the fact that an Officer not being satisfactory at their job in a near worst-case scenario is an IC issue. If they are not doing their job, you fire them or demote them to Cadet, and make an IR. Both instances here, while absolutely failing to perform their job as expected, and while they would lose their jobs without question, are still IC issues. Now, if the Officer in question is repeatedly seen displaying an unreasonable amount of "conscientious objection" OOC action may be in place, but as it is right now, I'm standing by Nursie's original ruling: This specific case is absolutely an IC issue. Fire Officers that do this, demote them, file an IR on them. These things need to be handled ICly, and if you're stretched thin during a round that it happens, that is just how things go. I'll leave this open for 24 hours, if there's anything else to say, go ahead, Icuris.
17. You were told multiple times that this was an IC issue. Yes, you had reason to be frustrated, and yes, the arrest is something a Head of Staff or CCIA could/should have looked into. OOC rules and IC regulations are absolutely seperate: Admins cannot interfere with IC conflict such as this, unless server rules are being broken. Here are the logs of your ahelp and PMs with Calion: You then elected to take this to OOC immediately after your ticket was closed, causing it to be temporarily muted due to large amounts of IC info being leaked into OOC: (note that this section does not involve unrelated chatter in OOC.) After this, you ahelped a second time, after Calion had advised you to make an IR, or complaint if you disagreed with his ruling:
18. I definitely support the idea of making actuators a default module in a literal industrial mining hardsuit, it makes a lot of sense for them to be there by default like they are in the much less industrial Medical hardsuit, and would add more options other than just rushing a jetpack every single round. I believe the problem of people using them inside the station has already been addressed, but it's as simple as giving them a chance to damage floor plating if used inside, or requiring the hardsuit to be deployed for them to function.
19. Interview with the applicant:
20. I'll be contacting you within the next few days for an interview.
21. Application accepted after a successful trial. Welcome to the team.

Aim delay

There used to be a two second delay, which served its purpose the majority of the time. People on the recieving end had enough time to react without it functioning as an aimbot if they were ready, but people being held hostage or on the run generally would be shot if they didn't stop. As it is now, all the aim mode functions as is an aimbot. You cannot hold somebody at gunpoint with it unless they know you're going to, else you will fire instantly and cause a firefight. But maybe that's the intended use of it now, an aimbot for the upper hand at the start of a conflict, rather than a tool to RP aiming at somebody without instantly firing or typing out an emote. Either way, I agree with the suggestion to bring back at least some tangible delay so it can be used in the way it used to be, for actually holding people at gunpoint, not just blasting them instantly with a higher aim chance.
23. Application accepted following a successful trial. Welcome to the team.
24. Alright. Trial started March 30, and will run for one month until April 30.
25. How about an announcement or something after a solid hour of code red, followed by an automatic evac around the three hour mark? Usually this is handled by admins just fine with a more human touch, yes, but it might be worth considering an automated system for emergencies being a thing, from both an IC and OOC standpoint.
