Roll Construction Module into Engineering Module
Bedshaped replied to CakeIsOssim's topic in Archive
I mean the cable layer module that does it automatically. Just the regular cable pieces that people/borgs get isn't. -

That sounds good. Also giving the construction borgs that cable layer would be cool and maybe a little OP. -

I want to make Fish and Chips and not be thrown into the brig.

I think fire and burning things would give an interesting new aspect to the janitor role. I don't know if a recycling system is being implemented but eventually something that can take can recycle disposal'd items -> material scrap -> material sheets would be cool.

They don't need a warrent if they witnessed a crime directly and a Warden can now stamp for one so they aren't difficult.

Can you add a bit on loadouts? Sometimes it takes ages to get suited up because you can't figure out what goes where and how to place stuff. Being able to go off a guide would be helpful.

Most servers on SS13 have always seemed to follow the same basic setup or premise. "You are _________ a NanoTrasen employee aboard the NSS _________, a research station." Imagine if you could change the setting for the round within the current lore (or outside of it), pick anywhere or do anything; maybe even outside the capabilities of the game. Where or what would you choose for that setting? Some ideas I was thinking about recently:

I don't like when you antag as Tendrils for pretty much the exact reasons someone brought a complaint against another Rambo Diona: http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=6207 If you did what you do on any other species I wouldn't care either as long as it's not gank. I thought we changed the way Diona can have complete instant understanding of combat too. Edit: Yeah it was changed... so what does this mean for Antags?

Player Complaint (Kinda) Bedshaped
Bedshaped replied to coolbc2000's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I engaged with Syion when he stunned me and asked me to take off my hardsuit. But it's not like my character ever saw anything other than a stun baton. So when someone with nothing but a stun baton orders you to do something, I'm not going to act terrified for my life or paralysed with fear. If it was something that could actually make me scared for my life (that doesn't include harmbatoning because normal people don't have the possibility of being bludgeoned to death by a blunt object in their typical thought patterns) like a knife or a gun then I would have complied fully like I explained to Ricky. I also feel the need to keep posting this: -

They didn't die. They went off with their weapons and did whatever they did for the rest of the round. And I did interact with them, I just didn't comply with them. -
Player Complaint (Kinda) Bedshaped

RP doesn't stop existing when there's no antags around. It's unlucky that I happened to be in hydroponics and saw a cool hideout on my mining goggles, I genuinely thought it was something engineers built. I bet it would have been cool RP too to have you blow up the station or whatever. However, I'm not going to unrealistically throw my hands up at someone who doesn't even have the foresight to deal with someone finding their hideout. We've all had times where our great antag plan goes to shit because someone stumbled in on us, we just don't all make complaint threads about it. -

I already explained to Ricky madenson that if you had taken me prisoner in another location and there was a genuine "I'm about to die" reason for fear RP I would have complied fully. I was wearing a suit, you weren't. I had an RCD and was standing against a wall with vacuum on the other side. My safest avenue to safety was to deconstruct the wall like I did so we'd both get flung out to space. This isn't a case of me trying to disarm you or pulling out a gun and shooting you mid-hostagemode, you left me a big opportunity to do this and I did it. Some things I believe are different to your telling: "Please, don't kill me, I won't tell anyone.": I actually think I just said "I won't tell anyone." - the difference being the fact that I wasn't truly scared of dying "and I had made him/her see I had a gun with me": The only thing I remember seeing was an emag in a closet before you closed it shut on me and baton stunned me Since Ricky already talked to me and decided there wasn't a problem doesn't this apply?: -
PEAR: Union of Engineers & Technicians
Bedshaped replied to Bedshaped's topic in NanoTrasen Public Network
[reserved] -
"Engineers like to solve problems. If there are no problems handily available, they will create their own problems." - Scott Adams Who are we? Welcome to PEAR, Protection of Engineer & Atmospheric tech Rights. We are a collective bargaining organisation representing the interests of Engineers and other Technicians employed by NanoTrasen. We were founded on Biesel in 2453 as part of the Mendell City dock-workers union and branched out into more of NanoTrasen's operations. We currently have interests in extending onto the NSS Exodus in order to protect Engineer rights there along with securing much needed pay-rises and improved contractual obligations by employers. Our point-of-contact in the area is Matt Dalmer (Bedshaped) who first contacted us regarding a need for unionisation. We have been receiving information through him until such time as a local Union Leader is appointed. What are our objectives? (as of 2458/07/06) Advocate for pay-rises that follow in line of productivity & inflation Represent and advise Engineers & Technicians who are required to interact with Sector Command Recruit as many of the Exodus Engineering staff as are willing Recruit Union Representatives who can protect and advise Engineers summoned to interrogation and interview Vote on a local Union Leader In general, the overall goal of our organisation is to make the NSS Exodus the best working environment it could possibly be. How to Join? Anyone employed as an Engineer can join PEAR. There's no application required; all that's needed to vote in elections is to present your Exodus ID. To become a Union Rep you just need to fill out this form and place it in the discussion board below: After our first recruitment drive to gain membership we will seek to elect a Union Leader. This will require a nomination and a second as set out in our constitution. ======================================================= Current Leadership: Union Leader (to be elected] Union Representitives (to be appointed) (to be appointed) (to be appointed) (to be appointed) (to be appointed) How to contact your local PEAR Rep? Post in this discussion board and a rep will get in contact with you as soon as possible.

You should calm down. Take it easy. Let things go. Jackboot probably should too. Constantly writing out textblocks can't be good for your health.

With hostages, buckle them to an office chair so even if security blast them; they can still be used as cover.

[Accepted] SirCatnip's Server Moderator Application
Bedshaped replied to Catnip's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
I just realised he has a picture of Tony Abbot shooting lasers out of his eyes. If that's not mod material then what is. Also I think SirCatnip is really mature and level headed. He's fun to play with and talk to and would be a good representative of the community. -
I'd prefer if things were more compact. If you compare two recent maps added by servers, Apollo and Polaris; Apollo is the much superior map due to being compact and accessible. Polarises size means there are deadzones everywhere with no activity. Using an elevator gives you a good opportunity to achieve this compactness. Another suggestion is more maintenance corridors and some very small maintenance elevators that can be used by engineering (only like 2/4 tiles of floor space for a single or couple of maintenance workers and their equipment).
