  1. Bedshaped

    Breacher suit.

Is there a situation where you need your AMI activated and can't use the AMI gloves? Can't you just make AMI gloves have identical characteristics to latex gloves?
  2. Bedshaped

    Breacher suit.

I think this is a great suggestion and would be the single-best thing to balance hardsuits. Online: Toggle helmet. Offline: Toggle helmet, chestpiece, gauntlets, boots.
  3. I don't feel like AOOC is being used that effectively yet. It will take time but people need to put the effort into establishing how they can use their antag-ness to create RP. My first use of AOOC was on baystation 12 as a merc. We organised OOCly that we were recruiters from Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals looking to head-hunt staff (probably very unrealistic). We spent a good chunk of the round talking to medical, scaring security and generally interacting suspiciously with the whole station without firing shots or damaging anything until it turned out that our credentials were faked. Hence, the real root of the problem is the players not putting enough effort into their RP. Anyone who clicks on that antag button should be taking on the responsibility of creating roleplay for the station and this should be endorsed and enforced.
  4. I didn't think of the escape pod but two people in a two tile space would have this long to breathe. So they would definitely survive the trip. Although stuffing your pod with 10 dudes wouldn't be the best idea if it were implemented
  5. Well that's why I included a little experiment with the post. If you're a single guy in a small room with no ventilation, you've still got literally ages until you start getting CO2 poisoning. And 100 times is the conservative boost, you could probably double that again and it would still not affect gameplay too drastically. As you know yourself, the initial change is a very simple one and can be readjusted depending on feedback if implemented.
  6. Respiration and carbon dioxide exhalation is very realistically simulated in baycode. The problem with that statement that realistically, it would take several hours confined in a very small space and with no ventilation for any character to feel the smallest effect from carbon dioxide exhalation. The problem is that when rounds only last 1.5 - 3 hours and atmosphere is always reset to default, this mechanic has zero bearing on the actual game. My suggestion is to increase CO2 produced in respiration by one hundred times. This means that CO2 exhalation is a factor that characters need to be aware of, but it's not so debilitating. Some numbers of what this would mean below: Some RP benefits from using unrealistic values: In power failures or when atmospherics is down, suffocation from lack of ventilation becomes a real concern Gives atmos technicians a new role on the station; monitoring and scrubbing air where there's no vents ie maintenance Since the station will be consuming vastly more oxygen and depleting stores, could possibly lead to having to turn CO2 back into O2 by some mechanic in future (some kind of machine or possibly a tie in with hydroponics with plants needing CO2)
  7. Drones are quite OP right now. It's probably a good idea to balance them in some way (fabricators requiring materials possibly). But I don't like your idea one dang bit.
  8. I voted red but I'm switching to blue now because, like someone said, it could be a cool way of distinguishing the server.
  9. I would also support Arrow's support of Nanako's support for a completed subforum.
  10. I think this is a good idea and definitely worth contributing resources to. One milestone I'd like to see for this game is to make everything seem more polished and a game world that feels "lived in". Having the player transport over from another extraneous location would certainly make it feel less like the Exodus is the entire universe.
  11. I would really like 1138 in this role, since I think he's smart and driven enough to churn out some great lore. I can't see it working so long as Jackboot is loremaster though. Saying it will be amicable isn't enough, you don't just work around that kind of history.
  12. Those votes are OOC. Also enter here an argument for time compression B) If the station is fucked up to the point that people can't do their jobs then an emergency shuttle should be called. Otherwise everyone should be doing whatever they want. If people can't do whatever they want then call the emergency shuttle. Also if there's been a bomb on the station call the emergency shuttle immediately, stop this "let's fix it" crap. There's a whole team of NT professional builder guys who fix the station between shifts and who are probably 100x more capable than Oliver Roadman and his team of merry men. It doesn't make sense that the transfer shuttle is less regulated than the emergency shuttle either.
  13. The transfer shuttle is sometimes called at times when it really doesn't make IC sense or derails an ongoing and active RP situation. This is supposed to be a HRP server, you wouldn't allow a crew transfer to go on while there's any kind of active security situation. I would go the opposite direction and not allow transfer shuttles to be called in red or blue. I would also like to have a system that automatically drops the alert level unless it's been justified and reported to Central.
  14. Ian the Corgi always gets a +1 from me.
  15. It would be quite cool if there was a Battlestar military RP style gamemode where you have hangers filled with fighters. Pilots to pilot them and engineers to fix them. When you exited your ship you started a top down shooter with ship momentum. Also the ship you came from could have it's own health values and weapons to fight off targets as well. There would be boardings and of course ship damage that needed to be fixed.
  16. Dylan gets all my respect for playing a character with a mechanical heart and sticking with it even after dying for the "n"th time.
  17. Well I hope then that it's changed to "extreme chucklefucking". Because if admins are going to police breaking IC corporate regulations to that degree there's no point in having security be anything more than validhunters.
  18. It doesn't make sense, IPCs don't "think" in binary the same way humans don't "think" in numbers but rather images, memory and language. That is, in the traditional depiction of a positronic brain they usually have nothing to do with binary computing.
  19. Can someone give me an example of this? I've never heard the term before and don't fully understand the explaination.
  20. Books that are copy-pasted real books should be removed. If someone wants to read a real book while they play, there's nothing stopping them from doing so through their browser. Book code could be improved so players can easily jump between pages, chapters and have more complex code for pictures or other things. As far as quality control goes, no-smut, no-realstuff and no "01100110 01110101 01100011 01101011 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101001 01110000 01100011" books.
  21. Libertarians? What is the connection you're drawing here?
