  1. Which communities if you don't mind me asking? Did some garrysmod RP a few years ago, interested if I'd recognize the names.
  2. From my experience dealing with Synth as a moderator he's been helpful and fairly proactive in any issues I've ahelped. Adding on to what everyone else has already said about his moderating ability, he make an effort to message me back afterwards as a courtesy, informing me that the issue has been resolved, which I like. I haven't seen any issues with him as mod from my limited perspective and I'd like to see him move on to full moderator.
  3. I have to agree with what the others have posted, I have serious reservations about seeing Sophia as a head of staff. Immaturity and her habit of ignoring protocol, safety or even common sense when it comes to her work are not traits that go well with being a head of staff. There's a time and place for everything sure, and having someone willing to sign off on some of the more interesting ideas is great but there's much more to being a head than than just approving or shutting down experiments. I don't feel like she would work well with coordination with other heads, and if any sort of conflict came up I don't see her being able to work through it in a constructive manner. Honestly, I don't know much about you as a player either and all I have to go off of is this one character and your posts in this thread. Maybe you'd be fine with a whitelist and my complaints would be solved if this was simply a different character, but I have no way of knowing that. I wouldn't trust this character as a head of staff and I'm not sure how to feel about the player, some time spent on a character with a bit more professionalism would go a long way for my trust in the player but even then I still wouldn't want to see Sophia as RD. -1

  6. I just got back from the dentist and don't really feel like hamming it up with a big paragraph so I'll keep it short. Pyro plays competent characters and has a level head, I don't see him fucking around very often unless he's trying to meme me in ooc which is a good thing for a head of staff. I'll give him my support only if he promises to fax me useless things that I'll end up ignoring out of spite only to PM him about it smugly later. +1 yeah
  7. Synth is a pretty cool guy and likes to get stressed a lot on his race apps, I know personally how much effort he put into making his kitty app and with how much I've been hearing about it over the past few days I have no reason to think otherwise when it comes to this meme tree. Ikrad is one of the few examples of a good kitty still left right now and that alone is something to praise synth for. I have no doubt that he could roleplay a diona well so long as he had a good understanding of what was expected of one. Personally I don't care much for diona and I really haven't given more than a passing glance at their wiki so I can't speak at all to his backstory or the character he's made. But as for the player, I know he could play it well. +1
  8. Much like native Detroit, the NSS Exodus is not a place you want to leave your car unlocked. ALSO WHY ARE THERE TWO. Also I like this one more. +1 to this one. but im involved so i dunno
  9. BYOND Key: Whiterabit Character Names: Alexis Sutton, Aaliyah Kha’Jur, Stephanie Moore, Verna Marshall, Karagh Mi’dynh, Sarah Pershing, Katie Auman, Natalya Zimmer, Sierra Gray, Katherine Isaman, Zijiri Kah’ra, Vesiki Shla’zek, Lyla Rathen Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): One more blue skrell for the pile. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: A couple times, had some talks with Loow about things not listed as well. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Once again, I’ve found myself interested in making a couple characters based around an alien race for which I’m not whitelisted. Reading through the skrell lore, I really liked a lot of the cultural and physiological differences between them and the other races. Enough to pester Loow more than once over discord to ask him about specifics on the race which hadn’t been fully detailed on the wiki. So, unsurprisingly my reason for wanting to play this race is just a personal interest in the dynamics inherent to them. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Aside from the obvious dietary restraints, the skrell are a species with very different values to the typical human society. They have extremely long lifespans which have only been further extended with recent medical advancements, this compliments well with their culture’s emphasis on intelligence, allowing them to spend more than a human’s entire lifetime simply educating before moving into their profession. Whether highly specializing or obtaining a diverse set of skills, even the average skrell can be considered incredibly well educated by human standards. The necessity of the individual to make themselves a valuable member of the species has only been reinforced with the introduction of the genophage. Not only this, but with the difficulty of reproduction and the high sterility rate, the value of each skrell and the importance of their survival has dramatically increased. Character Name:Veriqua Les-Quelen Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs What do you like about this character? One thing I like about this character is how she’s adapting to human aging. For a skrell, the passing thirty or even fifty years is fairly insignificant to moderate while for a human it can be the majority of their life. I hope to put something of an emphasis on this in relation to her human relationships. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Per usual, I don’t like to speak for myself on that, I find it hard to judge myself. Feedback is present on my previous apps and any that might be given here should be more than enough to speak for or against me. Notes: A fair part of this app was written late at night, so there’s a chance I may be re-writing some of it when I can keep my eyes open. But for now I’m anxious and crazy so I’m posting it.
  10. An interesting situation with Manfred that didn't involve a fucked engine and had minimal inappropriate touching. I enjoyed reading it and would support its addition.
  11. Dylan is one of the few characters with a military background that doesn't dredge it up whenever they feel like it just to prove how badass their character is. Instead he robusts. I think he's more than shown he's capable of playing a character with this sort of background carefully and the dogtags would be a way of connecting RP to his backstory without forcing it. While maybe as not as obvious as some people might hope for a custom item I think it matches the character well and would be an item that if noticed, even if only rarely would definitely help to enhance the roleplay for those involved. guys im not bias i just post on all his apps +1
  12. So, my interactions with November have been quite brief, limited to a single round one late night where I had the opportunity to hold onto the pAI Maya. There aren't very many people who I can truly say I would have an enjoyable time just spending the shift talking with, I was pleasantly surprised to find Maya was one of those rare exceptions. Maya was an incredibly enjoyable character to RP with and November was persistent in making sure that the character was believable in their use of Siik'maas. In my opinion, from what I saw in only a single round of interaction with them, November puts a lot of care into the character their playing and is more than competent enough to see their vision through while still making it enjoyable for others to be around. I think November would be an excellent addition to the IPC whitelist, the only issue I could see coming up would be the character's reason ability of becoming an IPC. The obvious concerns being how a pAI would manage to obtained an unlawed body in the first place, however, as station bound units receive no pay it's a safe assumption that many unlawed chassis' come from, at least in part, assistance from interested third parties. Considering that Maya is in a similar situation, I personally wouldn't see the issue. Anyway, a hearty, single round bias +1 from me.
  13. BYOND Key: Whiterabit Character Names: Alexis Sutton, Stephanie Moore, Aaliyah Kha’jur, Lyla Rathen, Katie Auman, Natalya Zimmer, Verna Marshall, Karagh Mi’dynh, Valerie Ludwigg Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Red Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Probably. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: When I applied for Tajara my interest was mostly based around making a single character, I liked the dynamic it would make for an engineer and I found that I really enjoyed the cultural differences present in playing one. Similarly for this, my interest in Unathi is more for a single character rather than multiple and after reading through the Unathi lore I think there’s plenty to work off of in order to making something interesting. More specific to this character, my hopes are to create something that can revitalize my interest in security, with engineering, simply having the added flavour brought by playing a Tajara really helped to keep things interesting. My expectations are the same for security through an Unathi whitelist and as much as I would love to play a character which subverted expectations, an Unathi cadet is where I’ve landed. Though this may raise some flags, I hope that my experience playing Alexis as security has given people enough room to trust me with it. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Starting off with the simple mechanical changes, hang on your s’s like a good little reptile, avoid salad and scarf down meat. Unathi culture based on Moghes is much different than the other races, tribal but not backwater like it’s often thought of. This affects the hierarchy of their society as well as many parts of their culture, the worth of an individual is derived in relation to their clan, how important they are to their clan or simply the importance of the clan. Parts of Moghes, especially the urban centers held by the Izweski are heavily modernized, plumbing, electricity and a range of transportation including off-world transit are available. Effects of their rapid modernization are seen in almost all areas of the planet however, both sides of the war beginning to see implementation of more advanced weaponry with the Izweski specifically fielding breachers. It’s important to remember that they aren’t just savages fighting with metal spears, even if those influences can still be seen in their way of life. Character Name: Vesiki Shla’zek Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs What do you like about this character? Most of what I like about this character stems from the general cultural differences which stem between Unathi and Humans. An example of this being his would be desire to challenge himself, a way of proving his fitness and keeping himself at a perceived peak. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I don't really like to comment on this myself, it's something I prefer to let others speak for. Examples have been posted on both of my previous apps and anything posted here can serve as a testament for or against my roleplaying ability. Notes: The backstory was a bit lacking on establishing a personality for the character, which is likely to set this application back I’m aware. A particular difficulty I have, which was also present in my Tajara app is finding a believable reason for someone to want to leave their home planet to work for an alien corporation. Typically with these backstories I end up essentially listed the bulletpoints of their life instead of the parts which might give a deeper insight into their personality. Honestly this hasn’t ever seemed like an issue to me as what’s important is how the character acts on server, although it’s something I’ve started becoming aware of, more so when re-reading through the backstory once again after I wrote it. Hopefully what’s there will suffice, although I’m prepared to do a re-write if necessary.
