  1. Due to this Incident Report's relation to round's antagonist and as parts have deemed a possible OOC issue by the administration, this report is being closed. If you believe the actions reported to be severe enough, you may file a character/player complaint here: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewforum.php?f=35

    I'm sorry.

Shit, one of my first rounds as security I ended up taking the ion rifle to try and detain a suspect at departures, I had no fucking clue what it actually did at the time, I killed/wounded about 5 people with prosthetics and a destroyed couple synths. Everyone does dumb shit, it's part of the learning process. Just don't worry too much about the traits you give your character, what matters more is how they're used. So long as you don't go overboard on things and show restraint, you'd be surprised with what you can actually make work. If everyone had generic, standard characters the server would be a much more boring place. That doesn't mean everyone should be a burner clone that gets wiped and reset every 24 hours and increases productivity by 25%, but having some out of the ordinary traits isn't a bad thing by default. and every one of my characters is a dirty snowflake, so much so I'm scared to take the test
  7. Ikrad is a good kitty, a very good little kitty. Every time I see him in his beret I think he's an apprentice who stole the engi RIG. At least with this he'd have a beret that meant something. I think he could put this to good use.
  8. Antags don't even come to the CCIA for gimmicks, they ahelp to the admins and then we're told what needs written up. "CCIA shouldn't help antags" is already dumb enough on principle of not making an interesting round because it requires staff involvement, but even the general complaint is wrong. Even if you do get the go ahead you're still at the mercy of what [uNIQUE PERSONS] you have on the crew to try and meta you at the first chance they get. As has been said countless times in other threads, It's a bad gameplan to go in expecting cooperation. It's an interesting gimmick, but pretty much guaranteed to be a salt mine.
  9. Last time I saw a merc team try this they killed each other when the ERT was called, the ERT shot each other with stuns trying to fight over the L/Tpr position and the crew killed the ERT for some reason after the HoP got gunned down for attacking them for some other reason. It was autism. Cool idea though, potential for an interesting round if everyone doesn't generate additional chromosomes on roundstart.
  10. "Just disable ooc" is a dumb argument and it shouldn't be used here. It works in cases of general ooc discussion where it's like "I don't like this, this isn't what I want to be reading" social or political stuff that other servers might ban outright. You aren't obligated to read it as you can turn off ooc, but they shouldn't be forced to not talk about it simply because some people aren't in the mood for it. By disabling ooc here you're not likely to be missing a conversation you'd be otherwise interested in. If used in this sort of situation it becomes "who cares if i insult you in ooc you can just turn it off". That's retarded and should continue to be moderated, it's the difference between being disinterested in a discussion or just not wanting to be called a "cock gobbling faggot" when there's other stuff going on that you probably want to see. Take it private and no one will care.
  11. It's not just about the nuke. People who had captain characters playing as non-captains used that as a reason to have immediate authority when there wasn't a captain around, even though they weren't assigned as the captain for that shift. I included that you turbo nerd. "People were abusing their status as a "sometimes captain guyspls" in order to try and force their ruling on other heads"
  12. Talked about this some in the discord and I also disagree with the implementation. People were abusing their status as a "sometimes captain guyspls" in order to try and force their ruling on other heads and get around the decision of the nuke being made a secret. Personally I'd rather have the staff strip whitelists of people who abuse their occasional captain status than use a blanket solution like this. In any case the majority of people I saw doing it were those I wouldn't even bat an eye at if they did end up losing their whitelist otherwise. I dislike broad punishments like this that strip away so much from the people who don't deserve it and multiple people have had characters effectively tanked from this ruling. Remove the retards and let the people who can handle their stuff keep on doing fun things.
