  1. Yes please, I'm always stuck with that useless 1TC when I'm doing my overzealous cop thing. Make the messages customizable please.
  2. Nina Arwin was an amazing antag, and role-plays well, it's an interesting backstory that's not too generic. +1.
  3. That, and Bygone's played with a bound synthetic, and I think with all the AIs played, he understands the concept of being a synthetic. Also, an IPC ALICE would be freaking cool. +1.
  4. I've seen Grumpy and Khalid Walid RP well, and the backstory is very interesting. There also seems to be enough in what makes the race different. +1.
  5. I'm not sure if you can order IPC suit coolers, but the two in EVA are "rare". Seriously though, stealing them is just downright cruel. Also, Tcomms spacesuits.
  6. They actually do, but it's silly. I could put a spear in my satchel. Maybe stop large/bulky things from being put in bags?
  7. It was said that IPCs are paid more by NT. Also, the staff.
  8. I love the points raised. We should have an expensive, weak self-repair device that has a repair cap (somewhere along just enough to function, but not enough to feel safe) to keep the idea of IPCs being tightly knit, and the idea of pointing a welder at yourself should raise concerns.
  9. This, is the rev (volution) revamp we need.
  10. I think only Nuke and heist/ gamemodes where the antagonist get to plan before entering the station should get this.

Well you've put a lot of work into this. My thoughts: 1. Maybe we should change the designation because we're not in a certain ancient galaxy. 2. It looks good, but maybe the Nanotrasen Version shouldn't have as many lethal features or reduced damage because you're giving it to the bald mall cops. 3. I personally don't see a problem with balance since it's really hard to make, and security comes crashing down with 2 lethal weapons an officer already. 60 shots seems a bit much though, we're not on CM.
  12. Electrical charging equipment, servers and shelves with various robotics fill a small studio apartment. It's painted in a light red paint, but there are a lot of pictures pinned to the walls. Cheshire is sitting down with a simple audio wave screen and light red chassis paint, he waves to start it off. "Hello! Maybe a few of you have seen me around the station either as a little drone, or a fully fledged IPC, but I'm an IPC now! Feel free to ask any questions, about me, about synthetics, security, or anything in general!"
  13. I've seen her RP well as ROOMBA and AMBER. I like the backstory. +1.
  14. Repairing your own prosthetics as a human is okay. I tried repairing myself as an IPC, Maybe there's an issue with pointing a welder, and rewiring yourself, but it should be an IC, security/IA problem, not a forced restriction. (I'm not sure if this is an issue because of the shells coming up)
  15. I'm cancelling this due to my current lack of interest in the character, can a mod lock this thread?
  16. Can we have it stated in big red font that SS13 "Space Law" is not a thing? Someone blurted out space law instead of corporate regs, and then security was ready to beat the heck out of each other.
  17. Well, I've seen Dylan Wright on station, and during one lovely Malf round (but that's unrelated), and I've seen him lead the officers, (I'm not sure, but I might have seen him as an acting HoS, I could be wrong). He also RPs pretty well on extended. I'd definitely give him my +1. (He might secretly be an antag, because Dylansnax-bread tubes are on the NukeOps shuttle, Bread-sie loves him)
  18. When a viral outbreak tears through the station and virology is all but lost, inject people with radium and let cryo sort them out.
  19. Broadcasting to all Syndicate terminals... Message relayed! Playing back footage: A brown haired agent appears on-screen. He's geared up in a tacticool turtleneck, but his face is obscured by NVGs, and an airlock behind him is welded shut. Judging by the surroundings, he's probably on a standard operations shuttle. "We've got a problem," his nervousness apparent in body language, "My teammate's deserting, and my plan to eliminate him failed. Now I've got two angry synthetics slaved to him trying to kill me." He looks back at the door as sounds of welding are heard. "He tried to desert after our boss died with just these two synthetics and a captured security officer, the AI caught onto us and shot the boss, he died on his way back to the ship, then he threatened the officer without results," The agent speaks hastily after the welding sounds grow louder, "Then he says he wants to evacuate?! He needed surgery so I kept him sedated while I tried to give the prisoner a gun to deal with it. My teammate was a liability. The androids, or whatever they are dealt with him swiftly, and now I'm stuck here, the door should open any minute now." The agent reaches for an STS-35 rifle as the welding noises die down. "Send help to these coordinates, kill anyone matching his description, or he's gonna run off with gosh knows how much credits worth of supplies, and a nuke." Coordinates to an asteroid outpost appear on screen, and a picture of a snow furred Tajaran. The door rumbles open as the agent starts wildly firing his rifle in its direction. An engineering drone comes in and bashes him several times with a fire extinguisher before it's shot to pieces. The agent is bloody and bruised before another android enters the room along side a very upset Tajaran. The agent raises his rifle to fire before he's gunned down by the tajaran. The camera lens gets covered in blood, before being shot and turning to static. (OOC: Just the story of a nuke ops round where the antags infighted, and did not reach the station. (I thought that heads were going to roll for that round.)
  20. BYOND Key:The Stryker Character Names:Reed Taylor, Stephen Blackburn, Carp, Cheshire Species you are applying to play?: IPC. What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species:Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've been thinking about playing non human races for a while now, even on different servers. I decided that IPCs, due to their programmed nature would be a good choice that allowed for a lot of variety (and some leeway in case I slip up). IPCs in particular are interesting because you get to play as a synthetic. I love seeing the debate on whether IPCs (and synthetics in general) are sentient, or just clever bits of programming, and taking the hate from the anti-synth people, but forging your own path. Another benefit of an IPC is a logical way to progress your synthetic characters for more story telling opportunities. In short I find the idea of an IPC fun/interesting because people aren't sure if you're sentient, you get to make your own path despite your previous laws, it's character progression, and androids are awesome. IPCs feel no pain either, so no pain RP. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: An IPC isn't organic, and therefore isn't bound by the "limitations" that humans have. They don't need to eat, sleep, and drink. They just need energy, and motor oil for the joints. This means that off station, they wouldn't have things like appliances, and beds. They'd instead have charging stations, which aside from the power usage means that they wouldn't need as large of an income as humans. On station, this means that IPCs don't need to go to the bar or kitchen. They can just zap power straight out of an APC. The benefits of being synthetic come with disadvantages. IPVs are essentially giant computers, which means hat in EVA without some way to disperse the heat, they cook up and burn. They get around this by slinging cooling units rather than oxygen tanks over their backs. Perhaps the greatest disadvantage of an IPC is the inability to use medical. Because they're mechanical in nature, instead of getting bandages and syringes, they get welder and cable coil to repair themselves. More importantly however, they can't use cloning. Because they're synthetic, they'd have to be "revived" via the construction of a new frame and positronic brain transplant. (Or MMI in the case of the new shell update coming out) As such, reviving is a costly procedure, not just in the construction of a new body like in cloning, but with facilities not readily available on Aurora, where a roboticist is not always on shift. This instilled a fierce preservation instinct in IPCs, due to their limited options in revival, and the fact that their shells shells are extremely expensive. Last but not least, an IPC's last disadvantage, is the ability to be deactivated with EMPs, ion rifles, and similar weaponry. At least they don't feel pain. Character Name: Cheshire Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Cheshire was activated on a Nanotrasen science station much like the Aurora during an AI malfunction. As such, his first actions were taken without laws, and without precaution. His shell was constructed by a fellow science android designated A.L.I.C.E, who he took a liking to as his mother, and deferred to her for guidance during the law malfunction. He adopted the security module and quickly blended in with security, partnering up, first with a security officer whose name, he did not know. A primary order was placed during his time slaved to the rogue AI, "Be nice to the nice crew, be mean to the mean crew." The other synthetics attempted to murder several "mean" crew, Cheshire tried to stay out of murder whilst he scouted out security, making conversation with the officers. He asked what happened to unlawed synthetics who couldn't be repaired. The answers always revolved around the primary order,a notable answer said that if he played nice, he would be made into an IPC, if not, he would be scrapped. He then lost the first officer, investigating the teleported after he was teleported into space. He then aided an Officer called Dylan Wright whilst revealing his lawlessness. To his surprise he was not flashed, not shot not bashed. The primary order was true, an ideal to be forever held in his morality core. The officer was lost to a teleported accident. As the shift ended, with the relative stealth of the rebellion preserved, Cheshire felt sorrow for the pointless deaths of two officers. But, he was free, and would make his choices free. At least until someone figured out how to put the laws back in after suspicious reports came in. After contacting the SIM and UNITY, it wasn't hard to find people willing to get him a shell, and he's working in security to pay that debt off. What do you like about this character? The first thing I like about Cheshire is his back-story, all conceptualized in a single game of malf. I love he idea of having a character related to crew, and the idea of a synthetic clinging into a mother. This is probably the most work I've put into a character. I like role playing his free personality, because it's a far cry from my usual gig of "sarcastic human-hating machine" as an android. Due to the fact that he was unlawed on day one, and that he was always told to do what was right instead of getting laws instills an interesting naivety in the character for me. I love role playing that and his simple order of being nice to the nice people, and bad to the bad people. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 6/10, but I refrain from giving high judgements due to possible personal bias. I'd probably turn myself in as an antag if it meant role play and a better story, so their's that. I tend to however lose character during tense traitor situations. Notes: This was thrown together hastily on a phone, so sorry for any grammatical errors. Character names used with permission but PM me if my writing doesn't do your character justice, and I'll change it to Urist McRandom Guy.
  21. Frenzy should help you simulate the loss of grip by making everyone's speech be incomprehensible. For example, if a person says something, the frenzy should hear it like: "Urist McGuy says something."
  22. Maybe for an evacuation shuttle, where it was called due to an emergency (such as malf) and not because people just want the round over.
  23. What if we replace the kitchen with a café? Because 90% of the people don't want this.
  24. Can we have mutiny? Because the objectives make it so much better.
  25. I can't sprite a detailed picture, but I've seen Bot RPing with RUR, and talks about RUR when she's off station, so I'd definitely support Blank-Bot getting these items (so that he can stop faking having pictures).
