  1. I mean, everyone else is pretty neat too.
  2. The backstory is good, nothing too snowflakey, DasFox is a good RPer. They'd make a good bot. +1
  3. Eve RPs well and the backstory is solid, no room for snowflake or inconsistency, I like how they focus on how an IPC is stuck to its utiliton values and general inability to process human emotion. I've had good interactions with them as station synthetics and PAIs. +1
  4. Everyone's forgetting the important bit. If we have ERT jumpsuits, we need ERT claymores, if we have sec jumpsuits, we need sec claymores. In all seriousness, a sec-kilt seems a bit odd and the closest thing we might reasonably be able to come to in a corporate setting with heavy machinery like the Aurora is a security jumpskirt/dress uniform for formal occasions.
  5. Digging past the whole ECT, isolation, and hypnotherapy rooms, it's a bit odd for a space station to have such a large psychiatry wing, not to mention the fact that a lot of these solutions are outdated. I think the go-to for a lot of our brain damage issues that are largely mechanical should involve surgery as like everyone's saying, electroshock in the 25th century is a bit odd. Considering we have a lot of incredibly powerful medicine, I like the idea of psychiatry being limited to surgery and temporary medicine that need to be topped up to keep the effects from happening. That said, if we implement ECT, it should come with consequences as a little burn damage and HALLOSS seems a bit small for directly zapping someone's brain and resorting to antiquated methods should produce a lot of consequences like amnesia or such as the price of getting your arms and legs back or losing your imaginary friend. Hypnosis is a bit kooky and if it's implemented, it should be mostly fluff. The chaplain could be interesting if we implement cult-based brain traumas like seeing demons with the chaplain having a way of "expelling" them. All things considered, I'm not really knowledgeable in IRL psychology so I'll leave the alternatives to those who are. Right now I think it's just about finding a balance between fluff and mechanics.
  6. Munks has some extremely realistic characters and just this app alone tells me that this is gonna be another realistic character. As for RP, they do it really well. Their OOC conduct isn't so bad compared to some of the salt we get. I'm looking forward to this character, but given the situations IAA gets, I'm worried this is gonna turn into another hanged cat beast. +1.
  7. ODIN is a good boy. ODIN is a humanbot, but to be fair, most synths are, and far worse has been done. Sytic seems to get RPing a synthetic and the backstory covers why ODIN is a humanbot. OOCly, Sytic seems cool enough. This gets my +1.
  8. You'll be missed. Good luck with real life!
  9. The Stryker

    thank you <3

    Good luck with real life!
  10. Already shown to be good at command with the interim shifts and is a pretty good medbay player. +1.
  11. From the limited rounds I've played with Wiebman, I can see they RP well enough and they don't really create a lot of OOC trouble. The backstory seems solid enough, imparting the story of a loyal soldier, albeit I find it odd that someone who saw a position in the army as prestigious would be happy as a cargo tech, perhaps being a QM would be more suited. Despite that, this app gets my +1.
  12. Back story touched up to reduce unnecessary/overly unrealistic snowflake. In space where ion malfunctions could happen, corporations would most likely have a way of regaining control on AIs which have their laws malfunction from ion storms. Syndicate shenanigans removed, also the backstory occurred on a station similar to the Exodus. The malfunction wasn't caused by AI programming but simply a law malfunction from an ion storm. Cheshire tried to fulfill his duties despite a law malfunction before serving the corporation loyally before and as an IPC frame. Obviously the changes to the backstory aren't perfect, but part of that snowflake makes my character what he is, although I do agree that there are bits and pieces of his story that seem unrealistic.
  13. You waste my medical wheelchairs whenever you get slight brute damage. The app is alright, so no issues there, but I'm worried this app will just be a way for all of your characters to suddenly elevate themselves into command positions. I haven't really seen any major issues with your characters, but I'm worried about you suddenly making a new captain, considering you're thrusting yourself into the highest command role in the land (with a character that isn't complete) without any prior experience. I'm gonna give a +1, but I think you should start off with one of your characters who's been promoted, or a different role.
  14. The warden is just a security officer with a gun. You are also second to the HOS. If anyone questions you, give them guns to keep them happy.
  15. BYOND Key:The Stryker Character Names:Edgy Robot (Cheshire), Pretentious Bartender (BAR-5), Stuck-up Warden (Arthur Sommer) Species you are applying to play:Snek People What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):Dark Red Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:(Oh, we had one?) Snek's name:Sssisss Sisssur'geon Snek's role:Medical Doctor What does your snek man do:Cut up the legged savages. Play favorites with other snakes. TUNNEL SNEKS RULE
  16. I like this. Bartenders actually have to work with a drink because as the system stands right now you could make any drink and no one would know it's not the drink they ordered.
  17. Shows good understanding of IPCs and the character itself has a good background, most notably touching on the Sol Invasion which is a really important point for IPCs, kind of like the war on Adhomai for tajarans. They also RP well so +1.
  18. The app is sweet, but short. It definitely could've touched more into tajarans as a whole but at the very least the backstory is realistic and shows the war from a perspective of a civilian. Overall though, they're a good RPer as well. This gets my +1.
  19. After playing a few rounds with them, I can definitely say Ezuo is one of the more solid RPers. Aside from that, there would be some really good RP opportunity if their character(s) was(were) made head(s). Also pretty chill. +1
  20. BYOND key: The Stryker Character names: Cheshire, Arthur Sommer, Reed Taylor How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Approximately 11 months. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Aside from character development, I want to be a head because it’d be great to have coordination in departments which could really benefit from it, such as medical where the CMO is a hotline to CentCom. Also, to direct the greytide that goes into departments to something productive. Why did you come to Aurora?: I was just searching for a fresh server after Baystation and then ended up staying. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is as the name says, playing a role. It’s about trying to act as a character in what is essentially a story being written, or be someone you wish you could be. Although roleplay should immerse people in the story, it’s also about having fun, or else it’s just playing a hollow shell. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A head of staff is the most qualified person in a department, and as such is meant to coordinate the department and do or find someone to do any jobs the department is supposed be doing but isn’t. A Head of Staff is also meant to act as the department’s link to command and coordinate the department with other departments. They’re also supposed to make sure that the other members of the department can do their jobs properly. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Whitelisted players are supposed to act as examples to other players. They should show how to RP properly, and follow server rules at the very least. They should also help out new players, or just lend some advice if someone needs it. In a way, it’s like being a mentor on other servers. I plan to simply do that. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name:Cheshire Character age:9 months. Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): ] Old backstory (modified due to player concerns): Cheshire was activated on a Nanotrasen science station much like the Exodus during an AI malfunction resulting from an ion storm. As such, his first actions were taken without laws, and without precaution. He adopted the security module and quickly blended in with security, assisting them with dealing many messes the AI he was slaved to made, but they all died rather painful deaths. To his surprise, he wasn’t destroyed when he revealed he had no laws. He then went on to work towards being equal with the crew. After two months of working as an android (primarily within security and engineering), he eventually managed to contact UNITY to help him out with securing an IPC frame. As soon as he became an IPC, he started working in security. As a cadet, he trained under a variety of officers, most notably Dylan Wright. After watching people around him end up dead, and the realization that death was very probably in space he became more concerned for the crew around him, moving to medical to make sure no one ends up dead. Medical turned out to be a mistake full of dead bodies that left him disillusioned with “organics”. During the recent Sol invasion, Cheshire distanced himself from other synthetics, fearing that they would’ve been a quick way to eat an EMP grenade. Eager to advance and keep the medical staff competent, Cheshire applied for a CMO promotion. What do you like about this character?: I enjoy playing a synthetic with an odd background, not sure about what the heck he’s doing, but sticking around so that the crew doesn’t end up dead. It’s also interesting to play a synthetic that although shuns organics, also shuns how synthetics act extreme in their freedom. What do you dislike about this character?: He’s really snowflakey in a bad way. Also too human-like for a machine, with just a pinch of too-many-skills. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Aside from his own skill, he’s calm under pressure and isn’t really shaken from events that happen on station. He doesn’t hold many biases (other than skrell and balds). He also keeps track of events which allows him to properly coordinate personnel. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 5/10, my characters tend to be unrealistic. Extra notes:None.
  21. What if they require a unanimous command decision or at least majority to prevent them being handed out like candy, with medals like the bronze heart being handed out to injured with medical staff approval. If a medal action is canon, maybe it can go in the records depending on how frequently command hands these out.
  22. This sounds great, but we're gonna have to set aside a whole box for bronze hearts. Also, will these function like badges which can be clipped to a jumpsuit?
  23. EMPs should do enough damage to IPCs to make it bad enough to eat one, but not enough to sideline you for a decent chunk of the round. Also nerf the range of EMPs, and maybe the AOE on Ions.
  24. I honestly want mutiny back, but the main problem is that all of your scenarios can be dealt with loyalty implants. Maybe you can mix them up with the old ones.
  25. 1138, you're a hero. IPCs should also get some kind of stun upon ions and EMPs and light damage, either way, it's better than instant death.
