1. This may be a problem, a large majority of the back-end staff work and communication is on Discord, not to mention any information about changes to policy's or things needing to be done or having to talk to someone off-of the server. If you were to be accepted as a trial, and pass it, you would be required to at least have/use Discord on a daily basis.
2. Looking through the logs, and talking with Flim I believe I've come to a conclusion of what needs to be done. I will be speaking with Paradox about his actions regarding disabling the shield to carphunt, as well as his actions of removing the camera view of the AI from his lab without permission or intervention of a Head of Staff. These two actions are highly uncharacteristic of what we expect of scientist ICly. The argument about the Unathi robes are a bit pointless, it is acceptable for Unathi to wear the Tzirzi Robes due to their culture, though I do not believe that the chaplain robes being worn by the IPC are very warranted, though this itself isn't very noteworthy, its just a bit nitpicky on my part, and more of an IC IR problem should it happen again. I believe that is all the action I will take on my part, and will be contacting the parties that action will be taken against. Closing and Locking.
3. Hey there, just a quick Update Flamingo will be assisting me with this complaint. Also, so far from what I'm reading, there are two major problems I can see. Firstly, I can understand having an overbearing AI watching over your every move and complaining about what you do, I don't really agree with AI's like that, but I feel pulsing the cameras in that office was a bit over the line, I feel permission from the RD to do that may have been needed to do that, or at least even asking the RD to tell the AI to stay off your back would have fixed many of the problems. I feel a majority of this situation is a large amount of miscommunication. I am not against the IPC who was praying to some god of some sort, this wasn't really a problem ICly or OOCly, Is it not believable? Maybe, but it was something to spice up the round a bit, and again maybe a bit of communication to staff beforehand would be appreciated for things like that just to get an okay, but that's about the most of my grievances. The one thing I am disappointed about, is a scientist going out, disabling shields, and killing Carp, this is not believable what-so-ever, I get that you wanted to get some carpotoxin for some more alchemy things, but you really shouldn't be doing this sort of thing as a Scientist, it can wait, you can get security to just go out and kill some for you another round. I will continue to read through logs, but I felt an update of my feelings so-far would be good. I'm welcome to any comments from you two, but please do not turn it into a back-and-forth.
4. Paradox please. I'm not at home right now, so please allow me to read over this when I get back, going back and forth at eachothers throats isn't really getting anywhere. Edit: What Abosh said.
5. Hey there, I'll be taking this, give me a bit to read over this and look at the logs and such.
6. I saw a ship from Cowboy Bebop in that shizzle and nearly lost my spaghetti
7. I'm not 100% against having this Diona become a character sometime in the future. One of the major reasons why I didn't really want this to be a character is because a majority of my characters are connected in some way, I feel like I could use a fresh start, but I saw this application as a chance to close up some loose ends of what happened to one of my characters, while also giving me a chance to start a fresh set of characters on a new race completely different to the others I play. Maybe someday I'll bring them onto the station as some sort of civ role.
8. Make 'em modular like the other things that can be crafted, vary the durability and protection from the materials needed.
9. Alrighty, ANSWER TIME, going to do this a bit out of order become some questions fit in well with others in terms of answers. I actually didn't mention NT in this for a reason, I'm actually really just using this character to show knowledge of the race. I don't feel that this character would really be a good fit in terms of a on-station character, and more-so something I can bring up with other characters that I play in passing. If I receive the whitelist, I plan on messing around with a few different character gimmicks and playstyles to see which works better with the station scene, but as mentioned in one of the other questions, The character would be only one, or not quite one yet, so they would probably lack a large amount of knowledge, Ideally, I have the character probably going into something small in the background, learning the basics from the [insertfoundationname] about social interaction and such, and then being pushed to seek employment in a small restaurant or as a super-slow moving cash register person at a super-mart. Idealy speaking, yes, I'd believe the character would have a completely symbiotic-esque body, where all the different Diona agree with each other, (Though with that, I think it would be a fun gimmicky character to have a Diona where each body-part had a bit of a different way of handling something, and often disagreed with each other, #firstcharacterifthisgetspassed)
10. The trilogy of Atmospherics continues, god knows what can come next.
11. Moved to Off-topic, general is for in-game stuff mostly.
12. BYOND Key: Toasterstrudes Character Names: Species you are applying to play: Dionaea What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Of course not Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've been yearning to try out some different races from the ones that I've played for the past few months, and feel that Dionaea with their unique differences and playstyles would be the next best race to try out. From the experiences I've had with other Dionaea characters, I feel that the chances I have to roleplay and play around with some different character gimmicks will be greatly enhanced. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Plant-based lifeforms that use biomass to duplicate and create more of itself, and then merge together to become a sort of hivemind, what isn't there different. There is very few things that are similar to Humans, and role-playing them is a major one. From my understanding, like IPCs, Dionaea do not really have a strict culture, their culture is whatever they were surrounded with, and the ambiguities, and unknown past/origin of them make it so that the player is able to set what they are. Character Name: The Symbiosis Of Life And Metal Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs The week prior to the Invasion of the rogue fleet into Tau Ceti, A Dionaea met with a Synthetic on the NSS Exodus. The robot was in disrepair, missing its right arm from what they explained was a unprovoked attack of some ATLAS hoodlums. After the synthetic shared the story with them, the Dionaea hatched a plan to assist the robot until another arm was found. The Gestalt removed a couple of nymphs from their arm, and informed them to attach to the Robots missing limb, and to try and help them in any way that they could. For about a week, the nymphs stayed attached to the IPC, listening to what it had wanted, and helping with the lifting and pulling of many engineering tools and objects, eventually picking up some knowledge itself. Turing the invasion, the Dionaea was kept in the home of the Robot and its owner for its safety while it trekked to work, in this time it collected Biomass from the foods and leftovers scattered around the robot owners messy house, and learning about culture through television. After the rogue invaders were driven out, the Robot had finally been able to receive a metallic arm, and was able to release the Dionaea to a local organization that could help them form their very own Gestalt, it was at the time of its formation that it would call itself 'The Symbiosis of Life and Metal', in honor of the time spent with its Synthetic friend. What do you like about this character? It finally closes up the vacant story line of that one round where a Dionaea player cut off its arm and grafted it onto my robot the week prior to the IPC Antag Contest! How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10 I could be better Notes: Thank ya' for the consideration, feedback would be appreciated.
13. we have craftable pikes, craftable spears, craftable armor, craftable guns, craftable stunrods, craftable stungloves, craftable everything. can we plz make shitty makeshift shields that would be cool, they don't even have to be good I just want the AESTHETIC. alb make it happen bb
14. Alright, Conclusion time. I will be speaking to both parties separately about what happened through the round, as I feel there was some conflict both ICly and OOCly. For Arrow, I feel that there should have been less OOC reasoning for outright denying the gimmick. I feel this all could have been solved a lot quicker if they had Ahelped about the gimmick that was happening, or even contacted Jackboot or some other Lore Developer before continuing to deny the existence entirely, that way there could have been better guidance on the issue. For Ornias, the lack of communication to command staff ICly upon them arriving, and the claims of 'Largest Exporter in Tau Ceti", I feel things were sort of skewed from the beginning, I am a huge supporter of small player-made companies to liven the universe that do not need pre-approved backgrounds before being brought upon the station. The only problem here is that this wasn't a 'small' player made company, this was 'the largest exporter in Tau Ceti' which is something that would DEFINITELY need lore approval. As for now, I will be closing this complaint, and will carry out talking to both parties.
15. Alrighty, Strudels insight now. I feel like there were flaws on both sides, but I can see where Arrow was coming from. After reviewing the logs (and listed up above), there are many instances of you refering to this company as "the largest exporter of Tau Ceti", when no where in lore does it state this concrete. On the server, we encourage people to input small buisnesses and corporations within the universe so it feels more open, but just outright claiming something is the largest exporter in Tau Ceti when the only defining lore behind it is that its in the factions selection tab doesn't really make much sense. Quotes like "bTy-dne9 SAY: Ornias/(James Turner) : (Ceti Basic) You must have heard of Gilthari Exports, sir. The single largest corporate-" are really forcing on other peoples roleplay, even without any concrete evidence. As said above, there's one mention of the company from a post in 2014, there's not information on the Wiki, or any other location. In addition to this, other players were uncomfortable with your questioning, You get seemingly innocent questions along the lines of And then a few questions later you start asking if the station is up to par with its equipment, seemingly trying to find some flaw with the station. When speaking to an IPC engineer, Comms are lost, and you ask questions without much follow up, almost as if you are trying to collect dirt to help your company in another way. In all honesty, I can get being angry about having your gimmick shut down, but in reality, if you're going to play someone working for a huge corporation or something along those lines, Ahelp it first, inform command that you're here to ask some questions for your company, etc. etc. Most players are willing to work with your gimmick, but when you come in and force something that is not concrete in lore, its probably not going to work out well with backup from Admins, CCIAA, or the other players. Though side note, I do feel that how Arrow handled the situation was maybe not the best possible way, but they really seem to be within their rights. There's no way to verify that the link would be real or not, seeing as PDAs probably (don't quote me on this, just headcanon) don't have access to the extranet. You could have sent something to CCIAA about the visitor they allowed on, got some info from them. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to get involved in the round some how, seeing as most of their work is tied down as is, give them some stuff to do that isn't pure paperwork! " Tl;dr I don't feel this really warrants any further action, the captain in question from his knowledge was dealing with a corporate spy, and the visitor in question was asking some shady questions. The actions taken against said visitor are a bit shaky, but from an IC standpoint I can understand, probably not the best course of action to take, but none of us are perfect. I'd love to get the feedback on this from both Ornias and Arrow768
16. Hey there, I'll be taking this complaint. Allow me to read over the info and such, in the meantime if Arrow768 side of the story, it would be appreciated.
17. I made this post a while ago, and it got shut down by Devs like two days in. I still one hundred percent agree to changing the cans that are there, or just outright removing them. They are hardly used, and when they are used, it usually is the result of a delam. It isn't going to encourage Atmos players to play by keeping them, because even with them in there, most Engineers still just hack the doors even if there is an Atmos tech. Not to mention with how boring and tedious Atmos tech is right now, hardly anyone but a few of us masochists play them. Theres not really an easy guide on upgrades to Atmos, so if you're a new player, you either have nothing to do, or get taught by someone else who was Taught Atmos. #deletn2
18. My whole point with the cloning statement is. If there are mutations, they can be cured, and they the player is back to normal. If you lose cybernetics, you could always just have robotics print you some new ones, and you're back to normal. If you have brain damage, most medical doctors just fix the brain damage after cryo anyways. From your notes about what is going into the update, IPCs are being restricted from going back to normal. They cannot have surgery that makes them fully operational, they can't just have parts added to fix it back to what they are, they are handicapped for the rest of the round. If you don't like the look of the shell, oh well you can't do anything about it. Right now, here is a comparison of what I can understand will be happening. > Dead Human > Brought to the cloning pod, placed inside > Scanned, cloning starts > Body is removed from cloning pod and put in Cryo > Body is scanned in a scanner, abnormalities are found in their brain > Body is brought to surgery and the brain damage (And side-effects) are fixed What is left, is a human who is no more hindered than what they were before they died, but perhaps a bit more scared ICly Now, onto what it seems will happen with an IPC > Dead IPC > Brought to robotics to have brain recovered > Brain is recovered, and removed from the old chassis, repairs that are needed to said brain are done. > The roboticist begins printing off the parts for a normal cyborg > Roboticist modifies the parts for a cyborg to remove the laws. > An empty, weaker shell is left > The brain is installed into this shell, and is sent on its way. What is left, is a weaker, less efficient robot, who is hindered more so than the other, and has completely lost their appearance. I really don't see this as fair.
19. I really believe this shouldn't just be a underhanded thing between the Lore Developers, and coders. This is a major change that is going to affect many people who play IPCs, and in my opinion, isn't beneficial to improving enjoyment in the game. At current stages, this is just a way to punish IPC players. I whole-heatedly am against this until further action is taken. Point 1: At this stage of development, if you die as an IPC, you loose absolutely all uniqueness of your robot, you are put into one, singular (AND weakened) shell, that has no customization, and you are unable to change back to what you were before. You're being more punished than a Borg, Human, Skrell, Unathi, Tajara, and any other species in the game. You are being punished more than any other race for dying, which is not fair whatsoever. Point 2: When you are cloned, you don't face perma brain damage, you can have surgery to fix it and its done, don't need to worry about this anymore. With this, not only are you getting rid of what was said above, but you are also giving them a round-long debuff that cannot be fixed, improved, or helped. This again is just punishing players more than any other race is punished for dying, and its stupid, and unfair. Point 3: I agree, what we have now needs improvement, just removing the brain and readding it is boring, but punishing players for dying isn't going to make the race enjoyable to play what-so-ever. This is going to encourage people not wanting to play more-dangerous roles as IPCs, because they're just going to be punished later on if something happens to them. I've had many rounds where I've been caught by a couple stray cult EMP as my engineer, doing something completely unrelated, but I just so happen to be near enough to be caught in the blast, and I die. Everyone falls in a hole by accident, or catches on fire by accident, or is stuck out in space when their cell charger runs out, everyone dies from time to time, and this just makes dying such a freaking hassle, and so un-fun that it sucks. Honestly, if this is the direction that IPCs are going in, I don't think I would want to play the race anymore. I don't want to be punished because of the actions of some characters, we should be cracking down on said players, not punishing everyone that just so happens to play the same race as them. I am very against this update, until HEAVY modifications are made for it to be fair.

21. After reviewing this, its actually 2 more days. I'm going to deny this, its such a short ban that I don't believe anything would be gained from unbanning early. Locking and Archiving
22. In all honesty, the ban expires in less than 24 hours, its not really that long of a ban.
23. Shells have synthetic skin, and a metal inside. Basically its fake fleshy skin and then a metal endoskeleton inside.
24. I would be grateful if there was more furniture and cosmetic items able to be made,, also perhaps finally code in the circuits to making the ovens, microwaves, and other stuff so we can revamp the derelict kitchen and make our own fun. With Atmos mostly optimized besides adding a few pumps here and there, and a bunch of other things, its left engineering a bit more bland, I feel like if we have some more toys to work with it'd be interesting again.
