I might be able to throw a sprite for this together. (Recently I've decided I'm not going to let sprites hold me back, and have taken to spriting my own assignments until we get more icon staff.)
-
Thought about requesting one of these myself. Wasn't an easy decision. Sinsa is a good trooper.
-
I'm using the same type of glove. They are mechanically similar. Gloves that clawed species can wear.
-
Yes. I do.

Thread moved to a more appropriate sub forum.

--HIT REQUEST: MIRANDA, TRASEN--
Serveris replied to Kerbal22's topic in Syndicate Transmission Network
((..guys. This character's existence on the station is non canon. They only appear on the station for admin events, and even then, this has only happened twice ever. They were originally created by Frances for a party event, and were the daughter of Xavier Trasen, the actual founder and CEO of Nanotrasen. This bounty is pointless. Might as well put a bounty on a Sol Alliance senator, because both are never going to appear on the station in a canonized/normal round.)) -
Ayyyy! I remember that! I was my really passive doctor character and I forget how but I felt really bad for you before you did it the first time...after that, I was too scared to tell you no because you drained half my blood in a few seconds. ._. Your lady scared my doctor bad, and is the reason he started bringing protection with him to his sessions. This whole thing sounds like a narrative from a rape incident.

Why does this character have a wheelchair in the first place, again?..

Correction, coder meeting.
-
Following a development coder focused team meeting, we've decided that we wanted to build on this topic, and create a statistics report at the end of every round. Currently, this will include a body count, but we were hoping for more suggestions concerning what else the community would like to see at the end of the round. End-round research levels? End-round cargo points remaining? Really, anything that you would be interested in seeing at round end.

((Isn't this just like ANOTHER Social Screech thread? I don't really social network; it could be that Twitter(what Screeching was based off of) and Facebook really are this similar. But like I said, I don't really network outside of email and Reddit, so my idea might be deluded. ))

HoS trenchcoat/dermal patch = Augmented Head of Security Adam Jensen from Deus Ex Human Revolution. Eviscerater robots = Manhack from Half Life 2 and episodes. Lawgiver Mk. II = Reference to the Judge Dredd/Dredd films. Engineering hardsuits = Engineer's RIG suit from the Dead Space franchise. Duke purple tea = Star Trek referencing to Captain Picard's famous requests for, 'Tea, Earl Grey.' Lamarr, Research Director's office = Half Life 2 reference to Doctor Kleiner's debeaked headcrab, which had a similar name. Plasma cutter = Dead Space reference to the handheld laser weapon of the same name. Stun baton = Half Life 2 reference, modeled after the stun sticks used by the Combine's Transhuman Civil Protection force.

Cassy's Beep-Boop IPC Whitelist Application
Serveris replied to Cassie's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Cass ist gut für der RPz. +1. -
Yeah, man. We're good! Certainly had to work with more botched icons in the past. Did just fine getting these in order. I wish you luck in its approval.

The game can get fairly strenuous on machines, given certain circumstances. Normally, these are caused by the game running complex or especially lengthy processes. (Such as a meteor storm. The game is suddenly having to shift pressure within certain parts of the station, then acknowledge that it is doing so for each tile affected, then it has to carry out things like telling hazard locks to drop, atmos alarms to go off, etc.) Staff do what we can to try and keep these lengthy processes down to a minimum the best we can, but put simply, a lot of the atmospherics and powernet code is grossly inefficient and poorly designed, making it more prone to cause unnecessarily high amounts of lag in response to mundane events. In a nutshell, the game is picky. Most of the stress caused by these calculations should be placed on the machine the server is being hosted on. This isn't a game requiring very much computing power, but if your hardware is really that outdated, then it could be contributing to your problem.

Almost forgot! I'll be tackling this in batches, as I do with all my coding work. Once a week, I'll run through this thread, and compile a list of approved items, then make a post for that week detailing what's going to be added, and then what isn't.

Updated as of 07MAR with sprites.

Basically, a revival of this: http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=198 I will be taking up the responsibility of processing suggestions posted here, at Skull's permission, with the general guidelines as follows. *Custom loadout items are not intended to void NT's dress code policy, meaning no requests for total uniform replacements will be accepted. (Ie, coming to work in blue jeans and a t-shirt.) *It is understood that employees pass through a customs check before boarding the station, meaning no illegal items will be approved to be added to the customs loadout list (No drugs, weapons, or anything that security could consider, 'contraband' ICly. *Custom items are not implemented to give your character a mechanical, 'edge,' or that they normally wouldn't have access to following standard operating capacity for your job title. (Such as sunglasses, which would make you immune to flashes, or any sort of body armor as a non-security role, or bringing a gun in your satchel whilst not being command staff that are entitled to a sidearm.) *Think realistically. Imagine your character going to work each day with the item you're carrying, and having to bring it back home with them. *If you have any questions concerning custom loadout items, and whether or not they are appropriate/doable, you may query Skull or myself on this thread, through forum PMs, or on the server.

Right? I checked the code after seeing you post your issue. It's definitely 100% in the game. You could adminspawn it in. Think Skull said it was something to do with having removed you from the .txt custom item spawning list. If that's the case, him or Scopes are the ones you need to speak with.

BYOND Key: Character name: Item name: polished wood box Why is your character carrying said item to work? Syrus was recently given a tobacco pipe set by his significant other. During work hours, he occasionally smokes (usually within the confines of his office, or somewhere he may do so in private) as a means of relieving stress caused by his work as command staff. Item function(s): Would serve as a custom sprited storage container with the following: -darkwood pipe, self explanatory, a customized pipe. -tobacco tin, a container holding a reagent without a gameplay effect (probably water, I'll simply be roleplaying it as tobacco.), which can be used to refill the pipe if it is emptied. -box of matches, self explanatory, a set of already in-game matches. Item description: -A finely polished wooden case, presumably made of teak wood. -An archaic tobacco pipe, crafted with smooth, carefully sanded ebonywood. Looks fairly new. -A small, tin container, labelled, 'Arcadia mixture, strong blend.' It smells of tobacco. Item appearance: I've already prepared the code and sprites for this item. All that's needed is its approval.

More latin-influenced can opener security. Never gets old, because each person puts a very unique spin on it that keeps it fresh and lively. I think you have what it takes to make this persona unique, as all your other characters are very interesting and dynamic. +1.

Project accepted. Currently underway.

This would have my support if the Aurora itself was refluffed as well. Personally, I'd rather abandon the SS13, archive of, 'This is a private sector research station,' and go ahead and flesh it out as a government research facility. That's really the only way a lot of the current going ons make sense. The Sol Alliance just brought us a new xeno lifeform to study? Why? Don't they have their own science installations? Security isn't allowed to kill pirates boarding their station. Why? We have laser rifles and AN ARMORY. Hell, we have an armed response militia on call. Is this government owned or sponsored? Hell no, because governments don't endorse this kind of thing. I've spoken to quite a few members of the community about this, and it's netted some pretty wild approval ratings. Combined with this idea of the crew's employers being waged in full scale colonial war, it would paint a really interesting scene for roleplay, and justify NT'S MO concerning genetic research, lethal force, and it ending up in a lot of the situations that it does (space ninjas launching an attack on Wal-Mart Inc? Come on.)Hell, a lot more antag shenanigans would make sense as well.

Looks good so far. Still needs a bit of hammering out, but we can get that worked out on Github. Archiving.
