  1. You must provide us with phooootooos. I need to see what Pacific Hell looks like. Until then, take it easy! Enjoy the break from the server. You've earned it! Hope you have fun.
  2. ((Broke the shit out of this post.))
  3. ETA on C.6?
  4. As a soulless rule-spitting machine, I disaprove. But, on topic, if you become a moderator, you'll be a developer+moderator+duty_officer, which is a frankly remarkable workload for the server, do you think you can manage that all? I've already spoken with the appropriate powers concerning this. I've accepted the fact that I will most likely need to resign from the duty officer corps, and am willing to follow through with this if requested, presuming a successful trial is passed, and the application is approved.
  5. Could probably add a little function for her to use it, if you like? 'X takes a puff from the inhaler.'
  6. //I'm reviving the old bounty list, it adds spice to nuke rounds and brings in bounty hunters like myself. If you want your name added/removed PM me. Time for the Bounty Network to be revived. Have fun kiddos. Also feel free to add your own bounties to this new hub I've created. ((Bounty hunting was indeed disabled by the staff team due a lack of balance to the idea.))
  7. You realize security are not the only ones with weapons, yes?
  8. Currently, laser rifles get a melee damage bonus when wielded, due to the attacker having a better grip on the weapon. (5 brute damage for one handed strikes, 10 brute damage for a two handed riflebutt.) As of now, this has potential to crack bones on the victim, and is a fairly robust weapon. I feel like making the accommodations you've outlined here would be relatively simple to accomplish, but feel the concept should be discussed a bit more between the dev team and the community.
  9. This, please, oh god. I need somewhere to stick my command reports and fax replies. Folders in the bridge desk are good, but noticeboards for important papers is better.
  10. I can't think of a reason why not, if you're willing to handle this yourself. Leaving topic unlocked for further discussion/suggestions by the community.

    More Vampires

Perhaps lower the blood costs for powers? Or provide vamps with more starter blood?

    New Medbay

My concern with this on bay was that medical had more red phones than a nuclear missile silo. Was the sheer number of red phones toned down? As it stands, there was no way everyone in medical could possibly use all of them, so even with every staff member using them, there will still quite a few lying around, cluttering up the area.
  13. I want what you're smoking. Sounds trippy as hell.
  14. No headmin application? All kidding aside, Frances was a spectacularly competent, just, and level headed head admin. I would be very excited to see her make a comeback. Out of curiosity, why didn't you retain a retired admin rank when you stepped down?

    More cigarettes!

I'm surprised Baka wasn't the one that suggested this. All in all, looks like a pretty simple, but good idea. I'll chalk it up as approved, and get started on adding them when my new computer gets here at the end of the week. Meanwhile, what kind of brands, specifically are you guys interested in seeing? Spoof/joke brand names are probably best, because lawsuits.
  16. Basic Information Byond Account:Serveris6 Character Name(s):Syrus Seto, Kr'see Veeris, Praetorian, Merrik, Fate, Bolts, Keaton Fullbright, Janus Seto, Misilithais Uaekis, Bluespace Technician #439 AI Name(s):MerrikOS Preferred means of contact: Steam, Skype, Email, Server contact (in that order of preference, this can be found in the staff contact repository currently.) Age:22 Timezone:Eastern Standard Time, US When are you on Aurora?: Usually evenings; whenever I don't have class or school. This usually falls between 1600-0600 on weekdays, while being utterly unpredictable on weekends. Experience Former D2K5 Game Admin Aurora server Developer How long have you played SS13?:Five years, turn this May. How long have you played on Aurora:Nearly a year. I joined the community early/mid August of 2014. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?:I have a thorough knowledge of the game interface, as well as a relatively solid knowledge of the code and mechanics that cause it to operate. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Yes. I am a former administrator of the D2K5 server. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?:No. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play SS13 as a means of sharpening my coding skills, and to unwind after long nights/days of work and school. I come here to have a good time, and have grown quite attached to the game the past couple years. Why do you play on Aurora?: I play on Aurora because I love the community. I believe the staff team to be very capable. Out of the dozen servers I've called home over my time on SS13, I can safely say that Aurora is the one I've grown closest to. I take great pleasure in contributing to, interacting, and role playing with the community. What do moderators do?: Moderators are expected to uphold server policies, serving the community as enforcers. It is their duty to uphold ideals laid out by the community and administration. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: To become an Aurora moderator is to become a representative of the policy enforcement side of staff operations. Unlike coding, nearly every action I take will be of direct interaction with a community member, or a potentially new player. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I feel I can contribute more to the community than I currently am. As a coder, most of my work is carried out away from the server, with the only meaningful interaction with the community being through the suggestions sub forum or discussing custom items in private mediums. I would like to more directly contribute to the community by way of representing it as a moderator. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?:I am capable of analyzing a situation before acting. Wherever possible, I prefer to take a moment, get the details of a situation together, adapt accordingly, and then take the issue on with a planned approach. I take pride in helping people understand why something works the way it does, and would very much enjoy the opportunity to help clear up details on individuals in need of guidance or support. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I like to think that I am capable of maintaining a calm demeanor in an out of character perspective. During my time on D2K5, I dealt with an atypical, 'goonstation atmosphere' on a regular basis. Insults were very common, and a near limitless patience was nurtured as a result of my work there. Anything Else You Want to Add: As it stands, I am currently a server coder. Should this application pass through, and I become a server moderator, I will continue my development work in addition to moderator duties. I am also fluent in French and English, due to my using both on a regular basis. Not sure what use this is in a world with Google Translate, but I feel it is still a skill set worth noting. As of the date this was published, I am currently computer less. I'm expecting one by Monday at the latest.
  17. I feel like this is a wholesome DO issue and would be better suited in the incident reports section of the complaints. I can't really pick out much OOC wrong doing, (Excluding the 'Don't be a dick' rule, which IMO is the go-to reason for banning people that staff don't like[not to say some banned people haven't been raging dildos, though]). As far as I see, one member of command staff had a personal issue with another member of command staff, and don't really see any kind of basis for a solid complaint. You mentioned that duty officers were contacted over this? Or there were plans to contact them? I'd like to hear more about how that played out.
  18. Hey there! Don't think I've seen you around too much, but then again, it's hard to keep up with faces these days. I just wanted to bring up a few pointers pertaining to this: http://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=NanoTrasen_Occupation_Qualifications Right, as we can see at the very bottom of this page here, a number of command staff qualifications are laid out. Now, I'm noticing two distinct things here that don't really coincide with these minimal requirements, that being your character's age and lack of formal/advanced education. Obviously, some sort of educational degree is expected of a low-mid level corporate executive; an associate's degree is the required minimum for most big corporations in today's world. Furthermore, most command staff (Security Chiefs especially) are expected to hold around ten years of work experience, which I'll once more reference back to your character's age. They are currently 25. This would mean they started security-related work when they were only 15 years old(!!) Personally, I feel that the character is in need of a bit of re-working before they should be considered for a command promotion.
  19. A lunchbox sprite exists. Code has already been produced for items requested here. Writing out ten lines of code for this would require very little effort on my part. (All color variants of alien gloves, specific colors of lipstick, specific colors of cheap lighter, all needed to be specifically defined, which took additional code.) I believe baystation has brown and black variants of these, in addition to also having variants with the white NT logo on the back. I presume you'll be requesting all four?
  20. Relocated to an existing thread for such things.

    !!SCIENCE!!

Haha good luck, they are under strict orders to be as obscure and un-understandable as what can't be explained about things that shouldn't be possible but somehow are. As a coder, I can vouch for this. They're only used in very specific circumstances. I'm not even really sure they should be acknowledged ICly, based off their code. They're walking violations of multiple physics laws, and are elements of the fourth wall/OOC hands that appear ICly. That being said, I find them to be the most fascinating thing on our codebase currently. I feel like complying with this would get me beaten by admindevs, though.
  22. We're making it unable to decapitate targets in two hits. Its current damage rating is remaining unchanged, though, so it's still plenty lethal in a trade-blows firefight with non-ERT responders.
  23. I'd support this. Not only that, but it would be stupidly easy to do. I'll talk to Skull today about giving these a trial run. I presume everyone here is satisfied with the sprites Susan here has contributed?
  24. Development staff are resolute on this not being standard access to Urist McOfficer. Adding them to research would be stretching it. It might happen, if Skull has a change in heart. As Scopes already said, the certain fact is that it will be accessible by response teams and syndicate antagonists via their uplinks.
