  1. Allow me to first state that I am very glad that you decided to take this issue to the forums. We had a very lengthy discussion via PMs, however at a certain point, I had to retire, as I had things to do in the morning. I simply couldn't spend another half hour arguing the same points with you repeatedly; but hopefully we can get this resolved and establish a sense of understanding now. Now we address this issue with the warning from which I issued. dumplinz Serveris6 2016-01-12 21:26:42 Warning added by serveris6, for: Spoken to concerning supporting/instating absurdly long brig sentences as a head of security for minor-moderate offenses. Encouraged to review corp regs further. Now, when this was first brought to my attention, the player of the brigged character, Jun Ivanova, sent an adminhelp declaring that they were being permabrigged, and they weren't aware of why. I promised them that I would speak with security, and try to find a reason for her. After asking around, obviously, having spoken with Dumplinz early on, it became aware to me that he had levied charges of Assault, Failure to execute orders, and mutiny against her. Now, seeing as how mutiny came into play in the middle of an extended round, I obviously felt there was an issue at fault for one of the two players. And so I began inquiring into Dumplinz a bit more into his reasoning behind the Mutiny charge, in addition to speaking with the other command staff, namely the Chief Medical Officer, and the head of personnel, and the Artificial Intelligence that round for good measure. All of them provided a very similar testimony that contrasted sharply with your decision on the incident. Throughout this 20-60 minute interview process with Dumplinz and a number of other players, several members of security began to adminhelp similar complaints, and requested that action be taken against the head of security. As I observed while collecting this information, I even at one point noted that (shortly after the Chief Medical Officer had went to cryo), the IAA and command staff delegating among themselves concerning having you demoted from the position of head of security due to gross negligence. Now, concerning the incident itself. By my understanding, one of your staff, Jun Ivanova, attempted to push an arrest towards you during a discussion in your office. You chose to see the arrest as invalid (and it could have been interpreted as much; there's no issue there). Use of force was demonstrated, and ultimately Ivanova ended up detained herself. You charged her with failure to execute an order, assault, and mutiny. The charge of failure to execute an order was valid, as you clearly demonstrated a command to your subordinate, and they refused to comply. Assault, slightly more debatable, as an officer attempting an arrest would be better charged under this, given the intent (which is arguably the most important factor when determining the charge). At the time, I saw assault as being valid enough, given the incident that took place, and decided not to get hung up on a point that I could not defend and did not really see an issue at the time. The mutiny charge, however, as we see here, is not really applicable, given the incident that took place. Ivanova had no intention to remove you forced from command, killed, maimed, or otherwise injured. She simply wished for you to comply with an arrest. It was this gross misinterpretation that I spent thirty minutes attempting to outline for you, even suggesting the application of this, or perhaps this charge in place, as they more accurately describe the situation that took place as I saw it, after speaking with the AI, HoP, and several members of security staff (with most of them being in agreement). Regardless of my taking the (rather extreme) amount of time to explain this with you, and explain every minor detail that you contested (with a somewhat rude demeanor, I might add), you continued to accuse me of acting on a one-sided belief (which is based on what, remind me? Me disagreeing with you? This makes me biased or closed off?), when nothing could be further from the truth. As I've said here, and as I said on the server, I sought out to collect as many details from as many people that were involved in the incident, including your own, and based my decision off of that, as well as from deliberations made with the other moderators and administrators online. That being said, I retain my decision, and still feel that the warning was justified in being issued. EDIT: This particular incident report is a primary example of why I pressed for you to review regulations. While I didn't note this in my main response, I have taken note of you behaving in this manner since you were given a command whitelist. Given this particular incident, however, I thought it would've been best to discuss it with you.
  2. Sorry, who are you? You must be new here or something, right?
  3. Let's ease up on the passive aggressive shitposting, please. Concerned that this thread is getting just a tad bit out of hand.
  4. Request denied. If you cannot be bothered to follow simple rules, or produce an eloquent plea as to why you were not in the wrong, then there is no reason why this ban should not stick. The ban will expire in three days. Locking and archiving. Have a fantastic day!
  5. Locking and archiving this particular post, due to having been a format-less duplicate. Further dialogue on this issue will take place on the new one.
  6. Moving my original response from the other thread, which I will now be closing. Further dialogue will take place here.
  7. Banning moderator here. Hello. Salut. Alright, I happened to be present at departures during the entire incident. The head of security has just shot a rogue IPC in the foot several times with a laser to subdue them (as tasers would have been ineffective against them). As they were moving the IPC to robotics for repairs, you proceeded to climb onto a cargo tug, and more than a little too coincidentally in my eyes ran them over. This resulted in the character's immediate death, there on the spot. It seemed rather clear that you at the bare minimum attempted to hit them. I reviewed your player notes, and was not entirely surprised when I noticed that you had been banned for poor RP and end of round grief before. Given the ban is only three days, and a repeat offense on top of that, I am standing by the decision that the ban should stick unless either A. A higher ranking staffmember would like to chime in or B. You can stake a more solid argument as to why this ban should be lifted; given the OP, I'm not entirely convinced.
  8. A brief description of my involvement in this incident, since I was named in the complaint. After Garn and Jenna spoke with him concerning the incident, the round ended shortly afterwards. Judge's OOC message, seen at 05:54:08, was said during the pre-round lobby after the reboot. My only involvement in this incident (aside from delegating in msay with my peers when this issue was first adminhelped) was telling him that it was time to move onto the new round.
  9. Jenners is a very good roleplayer. Rose was a fantastic diona that I enjoyed working with in engineering, and Decanus is a wonderful accomplice to mass murder security officer to work alongisde. Willing to support them having access to another species, in regards to them handling the ones they already have incredibly well. +1
  10. Ban expires as of today. Locking and archiving topic.
  11. As of today, yes. Feel free to deny at this point.
  12. Banning moderator here. I winded you after issuing two warnings during shuttle transit that I would begin issuing three-day bans to anyone that contributed to anymore outright antagonistic attacks on the shuttle. I noticed the Head of Security, Josef Keelin, pop an arm blade after they were placed in an NSS Odin brig cell. This is on them. As soon as they whacked the cell window twice, I had winded them. And then you walked into the cell with your stun baton out, and harmbattoned them three times, in the head, after they were already stunned. As I was already occupied with PMing two people, and the round had already been delayed, and I had already issued several notices that I intended to ban people for exactly what you did, I made the decision to go ahead and deal out the three day ban. Alberyk and Tablespoon were also present during this incident.
  13. Good roleplayer, would look forward to seeing a bound-drone Vaucra. Hearing their plans for them in OOC and dsay has intrigued me. Very interested to see how this character contributes to the atmosphere. +1
  14. Hands down, amazing roleplayer in every non-human role that I've seen them in. One of the few I would actually trust being able to pull off a Vaucra just off their amazing flexibility when it comes to playing xeno roles.
  15. Leaving it as is for now. I may end up making subtle tweaks once the character actually comes into play, however.
  16. BYOND Key: Serveris6 Character Names:Vur K'rlisav, Leo Wyatt, Calvin Miller, Praetorian, Aiden Taryk, Misilithais Uaekis, Razzan G'rrsi, Eris Reed, ntOS, Tpr Fitch Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Alabaster white. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: We desperately need more Skrell on the station, and I'm interested in playing a twin-hatchling dynamic with sighed player. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Skrell are very intellect-centric beings, that are less likely to act on impulse; usually applying logic and intuition to their decisions and mannerisms. Skrell as a majority are prejudiced against the belligerent unathi, and the rogue advances of artificial intelligence. Character Name: Aelios Tup'Aronas Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Aelios was vat-incubated alongside another Skrell larva, Gaal in the underwater facility of Keeros'tu'kal, most commonly used to breed Tup marines, however was often used by the Skrellian private sector for the growing of genetically-altered larvae, similar to the concept of artificial fertilization in humans, only with artificial surrogacy. Following adolescence, both hatchlings remained in each other's company for most of their lives up until this point, maturing, attending the Jargon Academy for Applied Sciences briefly, with Aelios attaining a dual degree in Criminology and Human Psychology. After graduating, both of the podsiblings proceeded to enroll in the Jargon Federation Navy, remaining deployed primarily as security assessment and policy enforcement aboard vessels in the Jargon homesystem. Due to financial issues resulting in poor pay between the two of them, as well as growing concern for a Skrellian-Moghean war, they decided to leave the Navy in 2438 - just before the Moghean Contact War. Immediately after leaving, they moved together, as they had their entire lives, and took up residence in Mendell City, making use of Jargon military scholarships for further education advances, with Aelios taking an interest in human technologies, attaining a minor degree in theoretical weapon designs over the course of eight years, and enrolling in Nanotrasen at his sibling's suggestion. The two were deployed throughout frontier mining colonies and other fringe facilities which Nanotrasen had investments in - occasionally being on separate deployments for several months at a time, until modern day rolled into place. What do you like about this character? The concept of an intellectual minded species interests me, as well as the chance to roleplay a sibling to another character. (I already do this as Leo Wyatt with Roy Wyatt, and it leads to some very interesting experiences and funny moments.) How would you rate your role-playing ability? As I've said in my other applications for species whitelists, I really don't believe it's my place to judge how well I fit in roles, so I'll leave this open to community interpretation. Notes: Warble warble warble.
  17. +1. Very good roleplayer. Have thoroughly enjoyed their interactions with synthetics, and they roleplay an excellent detective character. Would be willing to support them in the chance of having a robutt bartender. I feel like this is going to be the most racist fucking bartender, I don't believe that infomercial back story one bit, all the tajaran clientele are going to get tableslammed oh god
  18. Suspicious thread titles aside, consider me interested. Feel free to PM me details.
  19. It was. His friends were a big help.
  20. The report is currently being reviewed, and a case has been opened. Thank you for taking the time to submit this notice. The primary parties can expect to be contacted shortly. -------------------- DTG: 10-9:26-TAU CETI STANDARD-12-2457 SIGN: Jeffery Steel, Senior Communications Officer
  21. BYOND Key: Serveris6 Character name: Vur K'rlislav Item name:ERT KittyDog Tags Why is your character carrying said item to work? The majority of Vur's 24 year career to Nanotrasen has been served under the Fleet Security Force, under the emergency response team. Although they have been added to the rotational roster for Security Heads, they still are occasionally rotated into deploying response team squads. They would be wearing their dog tags even whilst not actively deployed. Item function(s): Standard functions for holobadge/the currently existing dog tags. Ability to be clipped to uniforms, and displayed to those in view. Item description: The standard description, 'Tpr. K'rlislav - Security Item appearance: Holographic dog tags. Additional comments: I might be able to code this in myself; my GitHub on my computer is being really screwy at the moment, though. I'll (continue) look into trying to get it sorted out in the meantime that this is left open for review.
  22. I understand that a number of staff are concerned for 1138's performance as a moderator based on their conduct of roughly a year ago. As someone that had originally brought up a number of their discrepancies in roleplay to staff then, and someone who has played closely with them for the past few months, I feel I can safely say that I've played alongside Delta for the entire time they that have been here. We arrived at roughly the same time, were whitelisted for the same stuff at roughly the same time. I watched them make mistakes in the eyes of staff, and rack up a number of notes and warnings, and then earn enough trust to finally get some of their privileges back. Even that was a long time ago, though. Since then, Delta has developed much better judgement, and I really feel that the only was he is going to get the chance to overcome the select doubts that so many people hold is to give him a simple chance. Allow him the trial period to show that he is capable of being a good figure of judgement. I feel someone that has distinguished themselves so well and bloomed so well when given a chance to succeed is worthy of at least getting an opportunity to prove they can handle it. If the trial itself doesn't work out, then you've seen that it won't work out. Don't base the decision based on something that hasn't been relevant in a over a year.
  23. Please don't start a back and forth here. Plans have been made to deal with the entire incident through a different means.
  24. Is aware, as of previous application. Yep, yep. Duty Officers and Moderators are separate. I would be fully willing to leave one behind to pursue the other, as I stated there.
