  1. I've interacted with some of Joe's characters and they seem solid enough for me, and RP wise you're pretty good too. I'm just gonna give this a big 'ol +1
  2. Coalition crate gets the mateba/autorevolver, not the Zavod one iirc.
  3. Station antags are lacking in ranged weapon solutions. As far as I'm aware, they're unable to get any long-ranged weapons, because the antag sniper costs more than the TC of your average station antag, and there is no longer TC in the vault to make up for it. So, to remedy this, I've come up with an alternative: the hunting revolver. A five-shot revolver that's single-action. To simulate the single action means, it'll use a bolt-action style where you have to "cycle the bolt" to cock it, so it can't do fast successive shots. It must be loaded and unloaded by hand, and doesn't have any speedloader Similar to the NKA Consular's revolver. The general idea is that it'd be high cost for a station antag, but not take up all of their TC. I propose we make it chambered in .50 AE, the same caliber as the .50 Magnum Pistol, because of it's nature as a big bore revolver and a gun made for hunting. For the style, I've modified an older sprite I had to fit. I basically just added a scope to it. One sprite uncocked: One sprite cocked: Upsized versions of each:
  4. I couldn't agree more. I once walked in on a vampire draining someone and couldn't tell they were actually drinking because it looked like they were just doing the mutual grab slow dance. I only knew it was vampirism shenanigans when they had a lackey block the exit.
  5. Ouerea is a well-established and lore important colony for the Izweski Hegemony, having been featured in multiple news articles and most importantly the expansion of the Izweski nation from an area on Moghes to the spacefaring civilization it is now. However, it's often overlooked that many Humans and Skrell still reside on Ouerea. There are even Human or Skrell Mayors, periodically. This is in part due to the fact that Ouerea holds a special status in the Hegemony as its only colony not ruled by an Overlord, but by democratically elected elders. I've recently been talking about adding the citizenship as an option for Humans and Skrell, and I know at least Haydizzle is in support of it.
  6. Silver could work, yeah. So long as it's visually distinct from Cargo's current colors.
  7. When on dark/black mode for goonchat, Cargo and Entertainment channels have the same color. This is largely because Cargo becomes lighter but Entertainment stays the same. I suggest we change Cargo to remain dark brown even on the darker background, or change Entertainment's colors altogether to become a green color like Common or Service chat. Maybe a yellow-green or spring green. Here's an image for your consideration:
  8. I'm not a fan of the white plastic-y feel, and I think the sprites seem a bit too wide compared to how long they are, but it is a marked improvement. Overly bulky/unwieldy guns is a sci-fi troupe that always bugs me, even in my favorite games.
  9. I'll see about making one, based loosely* on the mining hat from RDR2. Just with a battery and electric lamp instead of an open flame.
  10. This will also open the helmets for non-IPCs. Which, they won't need it. It's just a cool aesthetic thing so your miner can look more like a real miner. Another thing that could be done is a soft cap mining lamp like they had in the like.. 1800s/1900s.
  11. That wasn't really a 'need' as much as refuting your explanation of "why would an IPC need a helmet". It was the first thing to pop up in how helmets and other armors differ mechanically from species armor, that being that species armor is just minor damage reduction with none of the other mechanical protections.
  12. What you think is a dumb aesthetic is actually pretty cool to others. Like me, for example. It's less like putting a stab vest over plate armor and more like putting a ballistic plate inside of a soft armor plate carrier. As well as mechanical reasoning, industrial IPCs do not get any of the bonuses of wearing a helmet when they're not wearing any head protection. The stun resist from being bottled over the head, for example.
  13. The issue with flashlights being that you (normally) would need to hold them. You can't hold a flashlight and pump a KA at the same time. The big flashlights can't go in pockets, and a flashlight doesn't provide light inside a belt like the mining/explorer belt. The hard hat is a perfect workaround. And you forgot the most important part of mining: Aesthetic.
  14. I was looking at the loadout, and miners have no hard hat access, nor is there a mining helmet for us industrial IPCs to use. We can't use the actual voidsuit or hardsuit helmets for light, so we're just screwed, right? Wrong. This suggestion is to give miners their own helmet, which gives the same yellow light as the voidsuit helmet. Or at least give them access to the current hardhats, so they can wear those. Below is the .dmi of my proposed mining headlamp, and the sprites to look at. Mining Helm.dmi
  15. All Security issue armors have badges built in. Right click it and toggle the badge.
  16. I must say it.. I don't like how short the blasters are. Unless they're meant to be concealable, they need to have full-sized barrels instead of the shorter, stubbier ones. This is generally the complaint I have for all the pistols, they look like something you could fit into your jacket pocket or hide in your waistband with only a little difficulty. Unless they're meant to be wide/fat instead of long, in which case the ergonomics are probably gonna be off.
  17. IPCs can also be Odin guards, but still a good point.
  18. Have Research make you some blob-killer KAs. Unless they nerfed KAs against blobs while I've been taking a break from Mining.
  19. Materials got removed from mining, so good luck getting them back for xenoarch.
  20. I made a suggestion thread about this a while back that didn't gain traction, but it does have some useful information about how crawling works. The thing that makes crawling useless is the fact that if you can't walk, you can't crawl.
  21. Someone pay Geeves to do it.
  22. I know it's anecdotal, but I've had rounds with 20-30 people on but only 5-10 people actually in the game playing. The rest were AFK or observing, after voting.
  23. I've been RPing with Ati on the station more often recently and I've come to say that I support this. With how they've done making Unathi, I can't wait to see how they do IPCs. Beep Boop +1
  24. Byond key: DronzTheWolf Discord key: Dronz#2441 Character Name: Amos Zhujian Item name: Ouerean Vest Item function(s): Like a poncho or cloak, it will function as both a suit slot item or accessory. Item description: A thin vest made of separate colors, this one is brown and turquoise, with something written in Sinta'Unathi on the right breast. While this is a traditional cut vest, it's made of modern machine-woven fabrics as is commonly done on Ouerea, and sized to fit a human. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: This was a gift from a Kataphract, Saa Sszehaak. Amos was attacked to his group as an Izweki levy, when he volunteered during the King of the World arc. As an article of clothing, it's meant to be worn, and Amos perceives it as a badge of honor. How did your character obtain this item: It was gifted to him by Saa Sszehaak, a Kataphract who's group he was attached to as an Izweski levy. He'd left a positive impression on the Kataphract, in his conduct and helpfulness, as well as his respect. The simple act of Zhujian joining the levy is seen as brave, because non-Unathi Ouerans are not subject to the draft, and heeding the Hegemon's call to arms was a very honorable decision. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: It's valuable to Amos as a reminder of home and as a gift from someone he learned to respect, and tells the story of the few humans who joined the Izweski in their support of Tau Ceti. Ouereans are not known for their patriotism, especially the Humans and Skrell, so wearing this traditional styled vest is his show of allegiance to the Hegemony. Sprites: Amos Vest.dmi Additional Comments: While much of this is very subjective, one of the OOC motivations to get this is to help represent Ouerea as a blending of cultures. At the time of applying, there hasn't been much love shown to the planet in the way of culture and society outside the political realm. With much of the cultural blend left to be interpreted as the reader thinks.
