Add a memorial for Officer Beepsky somewhere on the station
DronzTheWolf replied to Sheeplets's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Bustin' for Beepsky. RIP good man -
Feudal clothing will be tacky and gaudy, as is the nature of feudalism. Everyone wants to represent their nation/their lord and in doing so they'll stick out like a sore thumb. However, I agree that it is a bit too much to just make it the Izweski nation colors outright. One of my major complaints about the Izweski is that they lack the bright colors and intricate patterns that came with feudalism in lieu for Call of Duty style mid-2000s video game brown over brown with a newer, blander shade of brown.

Geeves has the sprites. It's in the hands of a mercenary now, so let's hope they finish their paid things soon.

I suggest a few buffs to makeshift armor to make it slightly better. And by better, I mean making it a little more versatile. The defense is good enough as it is. For both the base armor and the trenchcoats, make it so they can store melee weapons. Because let's be honest, if you're going to make it, you're more than likely gonna be using melee as well. It's not rocket science. This will make them bout far more useful outside the role of armor, and make that slowdown a little more worth it. For the base armor, maybe make it so the wire colors adjust to fit the wire you used. So if you used red wire, the wires will be red. Blue wires will be blue, et cetera. For the trench coat, I have more. One, I'd like to make it so that it can actually hold all the stuff the base trenchcoat can hold in it's suit storage. I'd also like to have the sprites updated to depict the coat you use to craft it, so if you use brown it'll be a brown trench coat, grey for grey, so on and so forth. And my most radical adjustment suggestion, make it so you can use Dominian Greatcoats and the various Tajaran long coats to make armored trench coats as well.

I don't remember much, before the war. My memories are scarce, but one thing I do remember is the greenery. The beauty is gone now, and has been for most of my life. The early years of the wasteland were horrible, but he endured. We adjusted because we had no other choice, not because we wanted to. We tried to make a new life in the untouched lands, but.. That didn't last long at all. Thinking back to It, I loathe my memories of that day. It was such a blur, It was a test of our will to survive. Those who surrendered were killed on the spot, those who ran were shot in the back. We lost many of our best then, but eventually we escaped back into the wastes. At first we tried to remain together, to take solace in our clans.. Then the bombings started, and we realized we couldn't stay in one place long without getting found and attacked again. We became nomads, roving and stealing. Killing if we had to, but my group avoided it at all costs. I can't speak for the rest. We eventually started making our own armor from forges we built from barrels and whatever we can burn, weapons too. We kept upgrading to match our enemies, and our prey. I wore a chestplate and helmet, carried a shotgun made from pipes and scrap metal, and a sword as my sidearm. I was a woman, and a fighter. I had to be, we didn't have enough men for discrimination. My brother and I were primarily hunters, and we learnt to maintain the bikes of our riders. Everyone had the duty to fight, and everyone was taught to. One day, we attacked a caravan of Si'akh's followers. The reavers put up a more of a fight than we'd expected.. I was attacked by three at once, singled out. They fought me until I was too wounded to move fast enough to disengage. One tackled me to the ground, and they started to pull my helmet off. I screamed for help, and saw my fellow warriors were fighting their own battles. They managed to rip my helmet off, and I struggled to the best of my ability. I kept trying to signal my fellows to help, but the clashing of steel was more than I could yell above. Or so I thought. Then one of them brought out a welding torch. I thought they were going to burn off my horns, or some other form of shaming, but it was worse. They went for my eyes. I can't remember what happened after, the pain was too much. The next I remembered was being dragged to my feet and told to run, and I did. I retreated with the rest of the warriors and we spent the night hungry. The healers did what they could for me, but my sight was gone. At least, in one of my eyes. I was never as good a shot since, and I had to use my gun with my non-dominant hand. The others could tell I was no longer the hunter and warrior I once was. The elders assigned me to less and less warrior duties, and less hunting. I was reduced to a cook, a serving woman. It was humiliating. I felt helpless, hopeless, and hapless. I would grow irritated easily when I would miss a catch when tossed something, or try to reach for an object just to miss. I eventually adjusted to my lost depth perception, learning to sway my head so that I can still get a good view before acting. One day, we ran into another convoy under our banner. Among them was Him. The Lost Son. We didn't speak, though he did speak briefly to our groups' elders. I'm not privy to what they spoke about, but it was that night my life changed. I went to bed as I usually did, but.. I awoke on a cold metal floor, with a bag of clothes and a note. It read 'Go into the stars and live anew. The ancestral homelands are fading, and you bare the scars of it's harshness. Live anew so that our clan may survive.' It was confusing, and I was afraid. I was terrified of all that might happen in space, because I was alone. Without my clan, without my weapons or armor, and probably lightyears from home. Eventually, after weeks of meager meals and sparing water, we landed and were offloaded in secret. It was some kind of warehouse or what used to be one. The roof was collapsed in, and that was where we landed. The shuttle was hidden within, and we were let loose to the city. Eventually, I settled in and began applying for refugee status under a fake name. I'd heard about what happened to the last Gawgaryn to be here, and I wouldn't let myself fall prey. No longer would I be Asosi Gawgaryn. I would be Akhss Asosi. End. OOC notes. This is a short story I wrote to kinda cement the story of my character, Akhss Asosi. And to kinda outlet the lack of people using her exploitable info back when I would play her often. I tried my best to suppress her violent tendencies while also letting them loose when I felt it was appropriate to do so, like when someone would climb over the counter and/or start bar fights. But that's not important, what is important is that while this does have a lot of basis in the canon for her character, a lot is subject to change because it's more an exercise in creative writing than an actual story on how she came to be in Tau Ceti. Addendum: Bonus points to whoever guesses what "It" is.

I'll fuckin' do it again.

Why do we even have mining headsets if miners spawn with the basic cargo headset anyway?
-
My point is that if they should enable wizard and try to do it their own way if they're tired of seeing urist mcgreyshirt do it. Legitimately outnumber them with good players.
-
Wizard is one of the best game modes, I should know because it's one of the only antags I have enabled. It's one where, if used correctly, you can do just about anything with enough thought. Maybe if you'd play it, you'd think up good gimmicks. The major problem is, well, people play wizard like a wizard. You gotta think outside the box, especially now that you don't even need robes. Be a power-hungry anomalist who uses a bunch of advanced anomalies for power, or a hyper-advanced EPMC with "augments" that source your power. Or an interdimensional thief trying to get valuables from a more advanced time. The potential is limitless if you're willing to, y'know.. Roleplay?

Make summoning Nar'Sie more dramatic and engaging

+1 Anything to make cult a bit more spooky and less murderbone-y. -
That's right, I said it. Aurora is a menace. There's supposed to be a "Canon" progression of events but if you start acting different like carrying a shiv because you work on an oil rig in pirate territory you're powergaming. If you don't react to the horrifying events, you're LRP. So there's obviously no winning here. ..Unless. You must become the traumatic event. You, the people of Aurorastation, must go out of your way to undermine the events with your own RP'd and valid mental breaks to start mass-murdering. You can't get PTSD if you are the traumatic event after all. Become a hero, welderbomb the event character. You could've saved Gus if you tried. You could've killed the phoron worm with cluster-welderbomb. You're just not trying hard enough.

I was one of the antags for that one. Was fun.

Is it a lizard clothes thread that is big, or a clothes thread for big lizards? You decide. I've created this suggestion thread to suggest a few ideas I've had for Unathi clothing, to expand the lizard fandom's fashion so we can rival the cats for loadout bloat. The names are work-in-progress. Let's sing the Bard' song, in the wasteland. First off, goggles. To keep sand out of your delicate lizard eyes. Wastelander Goggles A pair of old goggles common in the wasteland. Often worn by sailors and fishermen on the sea to keep saltwater out of their eyes before the war, now they take on new life to keep sand out of the eyes. Next, the kilt: Wasteland Kilt A long tunic made of old banners and other available materials, it acts as a kilt for the poorest or most free-spirited of wastelanders, who aren't afraid to let the sun and sand strike their scales. This will be color-selectable and finally, an old favorite resurrected. I suggest we change the Roughspun Robeto be color-selectable Now for the Izweski, in which Not'zar is best boy and you can't convince me otherwise. First, the surcoat-tabard-thing. This will function as both a coat and an accessory, like a poncho. Ghaz'ak The Ghaz'ak is common among levies and warriors alike, displaying the colors of the ruling body that they fight for. While it's main use it to keep the sun's glare off of armor, particularly patriotic sinta have taken to wearing it outside of combat. Taking up the hat slot, another that'd be popular in the wasteland and the Izweski's keeps: Clan Hood A hood worn commonly by travelers, explorers, and levies. It's main purpose is to block the glare of sun when traveling, and to represent their clan. Often they have the names sewn into the inside to help identify the owner should it, or the owner, be lost. This will be color-selectable And an honorable mention that I don't think will be added: Traditionalist armor Polished steel armor commonly worn by traditionalist sinta and others who do not conform to Izweski's rule, it's not very good against ballistics. However, it's strong construction makes it great against melee, and it's mirror sheen makes it ever so slightly protect against light-based lasers. I will make .dmi files of these if/when they are chosen to be included. For now, they exist in soul. Not yet given physical form.

I had an EPMC who wore a suit jacket and tie over his contractor uniform with the EPMC holo-patch on one sleeve and the blue sec armband on the other. He also wore dress shoes instead of boots, to sell that corporate look. When he'd wear armor, I'd roll my sleeves up and attack the holobadge necklace instead of revealing the normal holobadge.

1 dismissal Change or remove the Security voidsuit bounty
DronzTheWolf replied to ThelonTV's topic in Archive
I think what they're saying is that the bounty is never worth it. Because it rewards so much less that it's only ever worth it if you get a sec voidsuit in the warehouse. -
I propose we add the disruptor pistols to Cargo, since we had cargo-order .45s back when they were the main Security sidearm. So if any get stolen, lost, or destroyed.. They can be replaced. For a price. obj/item/gun/energy/disruptorpistol

We used to have mech skins, so hardsuit skins are the natural evolution now that NuMech is here. We could also add in some stuff like gormet meals to be ordered through Cargo. Maybe instead of space bikes, we add in mining speeders. Like what the TCFL get but in Cargo/Mining colors. Another fun idea is to add some of the novelty costumes/hats/etc.. Since those were removed from Cargo.

Feedback thread: Danse's gun changes

Bakelite is a good compromise, though wood holds a place in my heart nothing else can fill. Wood furniture guns are my favorite aesthetic. -
Feedback thread: Danse's gun changes

Like the majority, I'm saying we should keep the brown/wood stocks on the TCFL guns. That is all. -
Agree. Industrial superior, just because my aesthetic is better than the unga suit.

My point was more of the miners who'd go get a gamer RIG so they can take on sharks without breaking every bone in their body and bleeding out halfway back to the station.
