  1. Initially this was meant to replace the Captain's laser but. General consensus was "No I wanna keep my infinny ammo antag gun."
  2. The TCFL having the Jotun tankette is equivalent to how a lot of european armies use the MG3 machine gun even in the modern day, as it's a derivative to the MG42.
  3. Mechs lazy and dumb. Tanks cool and old. That and the TCFL isn't advanced. That's why they use blasters and gauss guns instead of lasers and railguns like other advanced militarizes.
  4. As long as it doesn't effect bartending, I'm down for it. Seeing that mechanically, bartending and chemistry are the same.
  5. On top of the utility, there's also that *any sharp object can cut through placed wire now*. Meaning that antags can put on their antag toolbox gloves and start de-powering the station with a pocket knife. As for why you'd carry one for self-defense.. Stop pretending this is a normal workplace. With canon events there's like a gunfight once a month. We're not in a normal, safe workplace. We're on an oil rig frequented by Somalian pirates, or the Space equivalent.
  6. I approve.
  7. I approve. It'll help me stop accidentally getting radiation or other bad effects from accidentally breaking anomalies.
  8. Remember that tank the TCFL had, but never used because it was behind an admin barrier? I do. Jotun was the trump card of the Legion, and if admins were generous, it would bring havoc to the station- In all the best ways. Unfortunately, bringing it into the newmech code wasn't a priority, and it was retired to just being a setpiece. I say no more, let's bring back Jotun. Modernize it to have the mech attachpoints and give it back it's cannons and guns, give it rubber tank treads so it doesn't actually break the station by moving, or at least doesn't do as much damage by running people over as oldtank did.. Lemme get my tank commander on.
  9. This reminds me that I need to finish my Unathi Surcoats/tabards project. Sometime later, I suppose.
  10. Only if Cargo gets them as well, as forklifts and warehouses go together like dungeons and dragons or peanut butter and jelly.
  11. This should be available through the swordsman merchant with armor value, but an unarmored version would probably fit in for some of the colder frontier worlds.
  12. Y'all don't have maint access? Smh all you need is a wirecutter and a bit of luck to get in.
  13. All I can ask is that you figure out some way to make the balaclava fit non-humans without being just a hood/coif around their head. I can't think of any way to do it myself because I wouldn't think it stretches that far, but it bothers me that your identity is mechanically hidden when you're just wearing a hood.
  14. I feel bad for the poor spriter who has to make sprites for every single uniform and custom item to reflect these
  15. So the suggestion is "If you're in moderate to extreme pain you lose the motor functions to talk and press a button at the same time" or am I stupid?
  16. Byond key: DronzTheWolf Discord key: Dronz#2441 Character Name: Skavoss Ozuha Item name: Victory Cape Item function(s): It functions like a cape or a poncho, being able to be worn as a standalone suit slot item or an accessory. Item description: A finely crafted cape that combines Ozuha clan colors and Izweski nation colors, with inscriptions on the decorative brass paldrons reading something in Sinta'Unathi. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: He commissioned this cape in celebration of surviving his first real taste of combat, and wears it as a badge of honor to remind him that he is no longer simply a Sinta, he is a warrior. How did your character obtain this item: When he was on Moghes, he took it upon himself to seek out a tailor and have a cape made in commemoration, and then a smith to work with brass and rubies he'd mined in Tau Ceti to make the decorative paldrons. They're far too thin to be anything but decoration. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: Ozuha sees it as his badge of honor, a testament that he is capable of war- Of surviving war. He was born after the contact war, and his life has been scavenging and selling scrap from before the war. He's had close encounters with the Gawgaryn in the wasteland, but he never did anything. He wasn't and still isn't a warrior at heart, but he has proven to himself that he's capable to fight. This is his way of reminding himself that he's not helpless. Sprites: Skavoss Cape.dmi Additional Comments: Being a miner, this'll mostly be attached to his voidsuit as opposed to worn.
  17. Can confirm lasers are a bane. My G2 got killed without even going into crit from being shot thrice from two turrets in an asteroid ruin (six shots in all) before I could even get out of the room.
  18. Make sure you re-sprite the Ned Kelly makeshift armor coats to fit the updated models. Oh, and add a grey coat version for it too, if you would.
  19. Fool that you are. I still play Unathi majorly, so you cannot stop me.
  20. Didn't they move the ERT majority over to the Upsilon and that's why we got multiple ERTs now? How about we gut the ERT prep because of this. Now we just get a cut-rate ERT with maybe one or two RIGs and more limited ammo.
  21. As a bartender player, I'm against removing the uranium/radium drinks because other than when someone says "Surprise me" and I managed to convince a miner to give me uranium or chemistry to give me radium.
  22. In all honestly, it'd be a gun for the coalition. Not in the coalition crate, just because it's not supposed to come with a gun, but maybe it'd be in events or available through the merchant. As for the gunpowder, it'd be more of just something to compete with the usual chembombs like potassium/water, but not quite be so complex as phoron salts.
  23. This suggestion is to add three things. Though I have a feeling only 1/3 of it will be accepted, I may as well tack the others on because that's what inspired it all. 1. Antique Revolver - An old black powder gun. Though it's quite obviously a reproduction, as it isn't a heap of rust, it's still an antique. It reloads with black powder and iron balls. 10 units of black powder, then an iron ball, then you have one shot. Naturally, you can do this individually by adding 60u and then adding six balls. It will do a good amount of damage, but it has a low misfire chance and it'll have negative armor penetration, if that's possible. If not, very low. 2. Iron Balls - Five iron ingots makes three balls. That ought to balance it out as iron has little other uses. 3. Black Powder - The most likely to be accepted purely because it's still a chemical that can be used outside the gun, as an explosive. It'll explode rather powerfully, and do burn damage as well as brute. It could also be used as a firestarter if dumped out and something flammable is thrown or dropped onto it. It is made by mixing potassium (In place of potassium nitrate, as to not add two chemicals), carbon (as carbon alone is used for charcoal pills), and sulfur, with ethanol as a catalyst. It'll me mixed of 75% potassium, 15% Carbon, and 10% Sulfur, like actual gunpowder. Though you can probably change that.
  24. If they're armored, wouldn't they be chausses, not chaps? Either way, it's an interesting idea.
