1. Use the crayon to make securitea and sell the lipstick. Maybe to Central, maybe to some Eridani with more money than common sense.
2. That's reasonable. It's been busy but I'll try to get on more often for this one.
3. I agree. This is a good thread, so I'll contribute my latest characters. Akhss Asosi Amos Zhujian Khunrrayar Enkherrava
4. Add the beer keg /obj/structure/reagent_dispensers/keg/beerkeg Messa's mead keg /obj/structure/reagent_dispensers/keg/mead and xuizi juice keg /obj/structure/reagent_dispensers/keg/xuizikeg to Cargo ordering
5. Back in the day, the Head of Security had a neat little helmet called "subdermal armor" or "dermal armor" and I can't remember which. I say we add it back, but with a bit of a twist. We should make it an actual augment that, as opposed to providing 'hard' armor like external armors do, instead provide the 'soft' armor of resistance, like how Unathi have brute resist and Tajara have cold resist. Naturally, it'd be very powerful, if not over powered, if it just full-scale did it for the whole body so instead we'll balance it by making it only cover one limb at a time.
6. Understandable, it's been a hectic month. Here's hoping it goes well.
7. When I got on today, I noticed my bandana was no longer striped, but solid color. When I checked to see if I'd accidentally messed it up, I noticed the bandana type selection was gone, and I felt despair. I beg of you, developers, revert this and bring back the patterns. Or make them black-and-white so we can at least have a pattern for color selected ones.
8. I agree with Danse. Add the "None" citizenship option for every species. It's already in place for IPCs to be owned, and every species has non-recognized states that you could openly be from. Not everyone in the Republic of Biesel wants to be a citizen, some are just there for the work on visas.
9. You know what'd be nice? Adding the hegemony satchel/backpack to the Unathi xenowear selection. I'd say to add it to the wider backpack selection, but I have a feeling people would grab it without consideration to just use for looks.
10. I propose we finally give security officers a badge. There are some who will argue holobadges, but those are a cop-out and a catch-all that anyone can use, as well as on every Sec vest. I say a badge for officers specifically, a metal badge with the same aesthetic as the other three. I used the Warden's badge as a kinda 'base' for it since they're the same rank. We have silver, we have gold.. Now it's copper's time to shine. I considered making a tarnished version to go in maintenance like we did with abandoned badges a long time ago, might still do that. 11. Yeah, I agree that joke was out of turn. It doesn't excuse it, but it was around 3 AM and I was really tired/not thinking. I usually try to steer clear from that kind of joke in the company of people who don't like it.
12. I never did understand what force prevents us from wearing jackets over our armor, something many people do IRL. Not necessarily police, but average people. However, I also think that there's already enough things you can cover your armor with already if you want to appear less intimidating. Ponchos and the like. I won't shoot this down but I would like for it to be considerably different to look armored if only for the sake of antags. An armored jacket would be more EPMC's deal than NT Sec.

Why did you come to Aurora?: After the servers I played before died, I discovered Aurora and just kept coming back. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Two bans that I can remember, and only one warning visible to me through the in-game tracker. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. b]Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay, to me, is the immersion of yourself into a role, universe, and character with a role in that universe. The ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes and see things from a skewed, imperfect perspective of the world. To feign ignorance because your character wouldn't know something, or to inform someone of something they wouldn't know. While it is important to have a healthy separation of character and self, it's imperative for you to be able to relate to your character because otherwise you'll not be able to go through with actions that you personally wouldn't do but your character will. Roleplay should be about telling a story, with you as one of the many pawns on the board to be used in crafting the greater narrative. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: I think, OOC, a Head of Staff is something similar to a mentor, while also functioning as their own character with thoughts and emotions. They're there to teach others how to do some of the more complex and nuanced things a department may offer, but more importantly, they're an influencer. A Head of Staff has influence over a round that must be used wisely to craft a narrative. Because of that influence, that 'power' over a round to allow things to happen, a Head of Staff player is very much an important and game-changing event. It's the difference between an ERT being called and the station having to deal with it's own probems. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The OOC responsibility of whitelisted players is to know when to help someone, when to give slack or be strict, and when to use the influence of their role to impact the round. For example, if you see a new player or someone new to a department struggling, you have the choice to help them. Sometimes it's good to let people figure things out on their own so they can get the satisfaction of figuring it out. However, sometimes it's better to help them because there are a lot of things that can be confusing and put someone off from a role/department if not managed right. It's also important to know when to give slack or be strict, both on new and well-known characters. The story of a round depends on it's characters just like any other medium for storytelling, and there are appropriate times to give slack to someone you know OOCly is antag, or be strict on someone you know ICly isn't, like stopping a roboticist from making a bunch of combat mechs to kill the lone ling. Which segways well into the final of my three main responsibilities: Knowing when to use your influence as a Head of Staff. Being a Head of Staff means that you have the responsibility to know when to allow or deny some very important things. A CE can determine the engine, a HoS can allow or deny non-standard equipment, an RD can allow or deny more things than I can list, so on and so forth. It's most important that a Command whitelistee know when to use their influence to improve the round for everyone involved, not just themselves. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau Ceti and how it affected your character and their career? James McNalley was one of Hephaestus' representatives sent to the Aurora to ensure their contractors were being treated well. The already well-known corperation wouldn't be too uncommon, and he'd likely have been trusted for some time. While being a representative meant he should put on a smile and treat others with respect and professionalism, it also meant there would be some expectations for him to work towards Hephaestus interests. He still gives service with a winning smile, and does his best to appear friendly to the crew. However, he got trapped due to the invasion of the rogue fleet. But still does his duty, for Hephaestus is the anvil upon which the world is shaped. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Mostly the consular and corporate representative roles, however the Heads of Staff are very much still on the table for future characters. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: As of now: James McNalley, Hephaestus representative. Lady Sslesazar Kesskra, Izweski Hegemony Consular and, Petty Lord Krreska Jrenuzika Velarikarr Al-Hrevirra, NKA Consular How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 6/10, not too much above average. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes. Extra notes: It is stated that I mostly intend to use this for corporate representative and consular. However, that doesn't mean Head of Staff is a foreign idea to me. I do intend to play Head of Staff eventually, and as such answered the whitelist-relevant questions with the Head of Staff mindset.
14. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.. The Vacant Office on the NSS Exodus had a fax machine. This was useful, because it meant that when a malfunctioning AI was locking down all of Command and their offices, there was another option. The furtive fax machine, so easily forgotten. Atop this, it also meant that in lack of Command, it was possible for the crew to sent emergency faxes to Central without committing various crimes like breaking and entering, trespassing, and theft. I say we take inspiration from our cousin, twice removed, and add a fax to our own offices. We used to be on the Exodus, after all. We know it was once there.
15. After thinking this over, I agree 3-D printing stuff would be a good idea. What got me to remember this thread is that I was playing around on a private server and noticed the improvised automatic was touched by the full auto update to actually be fully automatic.
16. Under the current system, they're too uniform. I'm all for limiting everyone else to voidsuits, but I think that Raiders should be able to wear more makeshift junk and looted armors without having to hope everyone on the team has some whitelist or another to be spaceproof without needing them.
17. I agree that this has some chance of setting a precedent, but this is meant to be more an exception than a rule. Only for Raiders simply because it fits with the themes of a rag-tag group of pirates wearing not standard suits but just whatever armor they can fit over their airtight suits, opening additional options like replacing their RIGs and voidsuits with randomized armors like they get for weapons. Varying qualities from improvised material armor to actual vests.
18. As interesting as this is, how will this change the more unusual/niche energy weapons? Stuff like the icelance and the thermal drill?
19. Since no one has guessed, It was The Exile Event.
20. I disagree. The nickname system leads to a realistic outcome of people who distrust the corporation, like Dregs, not using their real names on the 'net and instead using an online persona to act through.
21. Just use a loadout suit and tie and color-select it to captain colors, nerd.
22. We had elevator music at one point but it was removed for being buggy as all fuck iirc
23. With the ability to select your backpack, and now PDA type, I say we should include the ability to spawn with a normal or bowman radio. It's annoying to have to go to the locker, or if you're mining not be able to get one at all, just because it's not selectable from the loadout. Especially if you use it near exclusively, such as I.
24. Can we add an armorless version of the tactical jumpsuit to the generic jumpsuits? I want a green jumpsuit that's not more saturated than competitor's paper towels in a commercial.
