Basically, bringing slow pain to an animal to death for your sick amusement as @keinto stated, for instance... 1. Burning the animal slowly to death 2. Slowly gassing the animal to death. 3. Stabbing slowly / Draining blood slowly 4. Performing human centipede experiment or any other pain experiments on animals. 5. To electrocute slowly. 6. To remove an animal's eye or other body parts. How about it? +1 for the ocelot and uh, I guess this is fine. 'You can kill pests but don't be a dick about it' and in the Jawdat case while he was being a dick to the person he was being swift with the animal.

So although they are pests, torture of pests is still arrestable? How much torture is 'too much torture'.

Hello. Due to a recently closed IC IR report done by myself here: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=9495&p=87329#p87329 I would like to request that Regulation i113 be updated to be in line with the CCIAA's stance on the regulation. Which is that PEST species (in this example it is a mouse, but I assume this would include spiders, lizards, and bats) do NOT fall under the protections of i113, even if said pests are domesticated, friendly, or seemingly owned by someone and even if the perpetrator of said cruelty is doing it as maliciously as a mustached man tying someone to the railroad tracks. Or, if CCIAA does not feel that is accurate to how they want i113 to be interpreted, that they discuss and rewrite it so that it is enforced as intended. (For station pests and experimental animals.) I hold no stake on whether or not people feel that it is okay to kill mice or not or when it is okay and when it isn't, I just care about regs and it's enforcement being consistent.

Reporting Personnel: Sir Ver Rank of Reporting Personnel: Security Game ID: bRj-aEyY Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Offender HoS Kyle Hunt - Offender HoP Rhazajun Rhazakal-Jawdat - Witness Visitor (Off-duty HoP) Ellie Shoshanna (I believe) - Witness Wesley Mitchell Real time: Happened near round end, around 12:00-12:20 est Location of Incident: Mining Airlock Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: I was a security officer who was responding to a incident that was reported to of happened in the mining airlock. Upon arrival, such incident was found to be non existent. I was provided access through HoP Rhazajun Rhazakal-Jawdat, Ellie Shoshanna and Wesley Mitchell followed along, although technically they weren't asked to nor had a reason to, and such were trespassing. Because of the nature of the incident and my perception I was responding to an emergency I let them follow to not slow myself down, my intention was to ask them to leave after the situation was resolved. Miss Shoshanna had accompanying with her two mice, of which she had given names and she was carrying. The origin of the mice were unknown, but she later claims they were her pets. Mister Jawdat then proceeded to say the following. "Cute mouse. Can I see it?" While their seemingly menial conversation was playing out, I was calling into security letting them know that the airlock was clear. However, before Miss Shoshanna could consent to letting Jawdat see the mouse, he had stomped the one. She then promptly said no after this act, before he then threw the other one. Although this was a minor offence, namely Animal Cruelty, I decided to let it slide as a fellow security officer Emma was calling for help over the security channel, saying she was in distress. I tried to leave but found the hatch out was locked. Miss Shoshanna then punched Mister Jawdat as he continued to mess with her mice, and I intervened. Seeing as I had no way out unless Jawdat let me out. Mr. Jawdat requested that I arrest Miss Shoshanna for assaulting a head of staff (corporate regulation i306). However as a witness I can attest to her punching Mr. Jawdat once in the face, which after what I had seen was reasonable considering he was killing her property in a cruel manner. She responded with "He killed Fievel, I am sorry." for reference, that was the name of the mouse. After asking Mr. Jawdat for verification he protested, claiming mice were pests and not pets, and he was within his right. After evaluating the situation and double checking regulation i113, animal cruelty and ensuring there wasn't a 'pest' exception, I informed Mr. Jawdat that he was under arrest for animal cruelty. He immediately fled while protesting, locking the three of us in mining. He then protested to the arrest on security channels, causing the Head of Security to ask me what I was doing. I explain the corporate regulation Jawdat had broken, and by that time, Jawdat returned to let us out. I asked him if he was turning himself and and ceasing fleeing/resisting arrest. He then began to run again, taunting me and telling me to hunt him over coms. I pursued him through the security lobby, where I told him to get on the ground. He did not comply, and so I attempted to cuff him forcefully, after resisting I used my taser, probing him once. By this time he called for my demotion, and was fighting back. He knocked me over before Kyle Hunt came out in response to the commotion. He asked for an explanation and I proceeded to give him one. I explained what had happened, in less descript tone. That the HoP had pet mice, that Jawdat had asked to see them and then killed the one before giving her a chance to respond, and that he was resisting arrest. The head of security then informed me that 'killing pests isn't against regulations'. I informed him of i113, and he told me he was arresting me for assaulting a head of staff i306. I continued to explain about how jawdat resisted arrest, and the head of security, ignoring me kept asking if I was going to comply with the arrest. Corporate regulation i306, not only did it not fit what i did, as I did not use any more force than necessary, but it was in response to a lawful arrest. He repeatedly asked if I would comply, and then the transfer shuttle arrived. The Head of Security proceeded to take out his baton, and cuff me as I talked to him, I did not resist. The shuttle arrived, and I was transferred while detained. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Both heads of departments are perpetrators here, so it is laughable that I would report it to them. Additional notes: I am a Knight, who has taken a vow with Nanotrasen to enforce corporate regulations. When I am punished for doing so because the Head of Personnel is a flamboyant psychopath and the Head of Security won't listen to his own officers it is difficult to do so. I am not looking for either individual to be severely reprimanded here. Mr Jawdat offences only lead up to a fifteen minute brig time, and since Mr. Jawdat was seemingly misinformed about i113 and so was Chief Hunt, I would understand the confusion and why they took those actions. Mr. Jawdat is in charge of janitorial, whom is in charge of pest control, and Mr. Hunt is right to believe a fellow member of command. However seemingly these two individuals are one of the many members of security and command who are unaware that even though mice are commonly pests on the station, owned mice are protected by i113, especially when said cruelty and eventual murder is done maliciously, as obviously done by Jawdat. I simply ask for no demotion to occur, that this be removed from my record, and that the CCIAA either clarify their definition of what constitutes an animal or a pest if there is a 'pest exception' or make sure that command members and especially security heads understand that mice count as animals, and malicious killing of them (This of course excludes mouse traps and killing stray mice who are actively harming the work environment) will not be tolerated. OOCly: I asked Jackboot if he wanted to void it, and told him I was willing to as long as he understood the regulation for the future, he told me to file this anyway. I cannot locate the player for the other character and couldn't ask them as well. So yes, we really doin a IR for mouse murder boys. However I can see if this isn't worth the CCIAA player's time unless they are bored, so I will leave it to their best judgment of how to handle this.

[Resolved] Character Complaint - Warden Declan Woodward
Tomiix replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
During game ID bri-dHTp I had a similar issue with Declan, where he was the warden and Detective Noir was interrogating me as a ling disguised as Lily Kadel. He kept opening the door to interrogation pointing a shotgun in the door yelling 'be careful, it might sprout a armblade' when no other changelings acted during the round. He not only was clearly using meta-knowledge, but was carrying around a shotgun and away from his warden duties. This was resolved in game by DocOct, but I wanted to list this as an example of his behavior being repeatable, and upon ghosting and just following him i see he roams out of security a lot while armed. -

[Accepted] Server Moderator Application: Tomiix
Tomiix replied to Tomiix's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
I join and play when able to. I haven't been on much in the earlier week because of family issues. Aurora is definitely my go to thing to do as of late, and whenever I have free time I do look to play on here. My activity will naturally be increasing once I have settled my family issues and maintain stable progress on my studies. These things take precedence over fun unfortunately. I am actively online over the weekends, and on some weekday nights that I do not work. I would be willing to share my detailed schedule with yourself privately if you want so we can talk about whether or not that amount of availability is acceptable. -
Get fuuuuuuckd, movie star bitch! I mean uh... better luck next time!

An addendum, I also feel like this is not the appropriate board that hive should of posted to, and I fully understand that as he put this as a staff complaint that it is Prate's judgment being put at discussion here. Again that does not change my aversion to silencing him before this complaint is closed. As banning him from the forums permanently is essentially a permaban from Aurora in general for what might of been a honest mistake and knee jerk response, that again the two seemed to resolve. Which is the primary concern. If knowledge outside of mine finds that he was going out of his way to use his meta knowledge, and he was gaming this then the warning might be otherwise deserved, the main point I don't want to detract from is banning people from the forum and silencing them when it might not be totally appropriate to do so. It gives moderation a bad look and that is a misunderstanding that I don't think anyone wants to happen.
-
I want to preference this response by just reminding everyone I don't have access to the rounds logs and did not witness this event, and all statements I make is from me constructing the scene in my head from the accounts of everyone who had testified to seeing it. I think it would be appropriate to call what hive did 'assuming motive' and less lying. That doesn't change the fact that hive doing so was uncalled for, and probably more so an emotional response to the barrage of bans/warnings he has been getting recently. Prate's warning to 'can that shit' seems appropriate, but it was also important for prate to recognize (and he did) that he made an assumption himself that changes the tone of the warning significantly. Besides that statement there is nothing else in his complaint that can be construed as a lie. Hive is currently banned from all official Aurora channels. Banning him from the forums and not giving him the proper ability to continue his complaint, defend against this warning and his other bannings is not a proper way of doing things. Especially when Hive is fairly liked in the community and is more often than not a good roleplayer. I feel like that IS the community's business because this is the only proper appeal channel and unless he is griefing the forum in some way or violating the rules in a serious way a ban from the forum is to never be able to defend yourself in these cases again. So I ask you reconsider that as it seems they resolved the one issue that was in contention for the 'lying' issue. (lie singular, not lies plural like it is suggested in Scheveningen post. Unless Scheven wants to bring up an issue with something else Hive said that Prate didn't.) As for the meat of this appeal the points that Coalf pointed out are what matters here, and when judging whether or not Hive is guilty of those things, I would like to raise a few objections. No power gaming: So firstly, this fight took place in a small corridor where there isn't much room for error him making the shots and killing them with the type of weaponry he had makes sense. Especially if it was a fair firefight. I don't have the logs, and I wasn't there to see it. But if he had them out gunned and they were shooting at him he might not of survived going into a maintenance shaft. Secondly, what round type was this? Were they revolutionaries (as is implied by them wanting to 'take over' so I assume the round was ling+rev)? As revs, don't they only have the combat experience of their roles as well? Wouldn't of the entire fight been a unskilled matchup, and therefore even matchup when it's a civilian and a engineer role vs another engineer? Sure they had numbers but it seems like from the description of this event Hive had the arms. While yes I agree Hive is in the wrong mindset and was looking to win the fight once it came down to the only option being the fight, and I might be willing to speculate he is the type to want to fight over running away, that second part is speculation. If hive was truly in a position where he thought there was no other option than to fight, I feel like it is unfair to ask people to 'not be good at the game' when it comes to the fighting mechanic. As it takes away from the game and discourages the genuine skill that is required to be good at fighting in this game. It is also just difficult once the adrenaline gets going and you are in the heat of the moment to flip off your switch of being good at a game. If he was cheesing the system and fighting in unrealistic ways to achieve better results because of the engine that is one thing, but just being good at clicking spacemen when forced to play out the fight should not be a crime, and could be roleplayed as the character getting lucky and just having the better guns. I think it would be reasonable to ask hive in the future to spread his shots around and work on being inefficient when there isn't a lot of pressure or if he is premeditating something, but in the moment being stuck in your fight or flight response I feel like that is a tall order for anyone. Restrict yourself to your character's knowledge: I don't believe it requires much training to point somewhere and shoot, and as long as the range was reasonably close, and his character was shown how to reload and activate/pump the guns properly, I feel like emptying the one magazine and shotgun each is appropriate. Though long term knowledge like finding ammo or knowing how to repower it would be outside of his knowledge. It is hard to RP missing realistically when hallways are only two tiles wide, that is a hard shot to miss. You must maintain character at all times: Lies into my defence of the prior. I at least from reading all of the points of view here don't believe he was never not in character. It would of been nice if hive would of been able to maybe not be as efficient and spreading the damage out, elongating this fight. But I feel like there is good biological and psychological reason why that is hard for a normal person to do. Metagaming: I don't know if calling 'i am good at the mechanics and am just by nature very dexterous with my clicks' metagaming. Again I don't feel like the outside knowledge benefited him at all unless a witness to the fight saw Hive using tactics that abuse the game engine or byonds mechanics (complex binds, character positioning or some other means of unrealistic movement or action.) killing in self defence... - Killing in self defence is not prefered, but if not given an alternative, I feel like being shot at by two people is good enough to trigger fight or flight, and if hive couldn't identify an escape, then fight he could do. It even seems like he was about to go into roleplaying the aftereffects appropriately before he was shot down. So unless a clear and easy escape was present that is my only contention with this one. Some other things I wanted to rebut, since I am finding myself being devil's advocate here. So when you say that you pulled some luck and you got warned for being good at clicking their sprites, that is a load of bullshit and you know it. Someone roleplaying the shock of having killed somebody and then after they were dead being excited about events that just occurred to them is hardly hard evidence of a power gaming motive. it's a good thing that police academies just updated their standards to start denying loose cannon personalities, and that you're not a cop. Cops do more harm than good to their communities with this kind of "assess and eliminate" attitude rather than a "protect and serve" one. Because I think it's pretty terrifying what you said about not showing any restraint and going completely trigger happy if you had two "assault weapons" on your person. That's really not someone I want with any degree of authority especially with your notoriety of generally putting yourself into positions of aggression to engage in wholesale slaughter more times than not actually doing so. This is less excusable as a non-antagonist with no combat skills or experience to speak of. It breaks any semblance or point to roleplaying conflict if we allow just anyone to partake in risking themselves to dealing with physical threats head-on. It devalues the entire experience and gentrifies it to the point where antagonists don't enjoy creating conflict anymore because they know that there will be the odd crewmember that suddenly busts out their extensive OOC combat knowledge to click sprites horizontal rather than prioritizing reasonable character goals. Something I'm sure you know of but probably don't care about by now, seeing as how you put yourself into this position to earn the warning in the first place. I feel like you misunderstood hive's point. He was saying BECAUSE he is not an officer that means he lacks restraint. The funny thing about his comment is that he is actually incorrect, if the police were in a situation where they walked up into two armed individuals, and they turned to shoot them they would of been within their full legal right to kill both individuals. Officers would have greater restraint with compliant individuals, but when lethal weapons are used, they aren't used to disable. This isn't assess and eliminate, this is self defence. I also don't see what is terrifying about someone who is untrained and never touched a weapon before just holding down the trigger and turning away, which is a response that is believable for a untrained person to do. In more situations than not I have seen hive get shot at, but simply evade them and type responses, and give more leniency than normal, especially in a one on one scenario. Where others would get shot at and talking becomes over. However when he gets shot by multiple people and it simply isn't possible to do that I see him defending himself being reasonable. I would like to give Hive the same respect as Prate and not assume he is outright lying when he says he was defending himself, and he had no other choice but to be forced back into a area where he knows hostiles are at. If that is the case and a review of the round shows that, then he was not forcing himself to deal with the threat head on. If he was valid hunting and using his skill at the game to defeat the antags and 'win' that would be a understandable statement, but it just doesn't seem like that was the case here. He made it clear he didn't want trouble with those people, and they engaged in a firefight when they bumped into him again. Your last comment again is assuming that hive has some kind of ill motive, and that he looks to get warnings or just tries to get away with his 'bad behavior he knows he has'. How quickly can one break the window, the girders, and the second window in this game when being shot down by two people? I also don't see how it's unreasonable for someone to in a panic go through established and official passageways.

(This event is being rescheduled to Sunday evening. Do to the unpredictable nature of round lengths i'm keeping the exact time open ended. If you want to be notified of when I am doing it let me know and you'll get a message before i join the round.)

The actual news article said that Nanotrasen had planned to just leave it to be derelict. Which is odd when you could sell a station like that and someone would want it.

Hello fellow crew! It was only a few months ago that I started working on the Aurora with all of you, and although that is short amount of time each day has been special, meeting new friends and getting to enjoy work in the sciences. I don't necessarily know the exact day I was born, but it was predicted that I was born sometime around this week! So, I would like to celebrate with all of my newly found friends aboard the Aurora during a shift my becoming 26! When: Friday October 20th, 2459 (The first shift after 9:00 pm eastern, this may be made earlier if important characters can't make it, or if a round ends right before nine.) Where: I am looking to reserve a space in the bar near the beginning of the shift. Who is invited? Everyone! Let's have a fun time and dance and relax before going back to being productive. Please, do not give me a gift! Your presence is as good as anything else you could give me. If you insist on doing something, give a donation in my name to the Synthetic Intelligence Movement, if that isn't your speed you could also donate to the Interstellar Aid Corps. Please RSVP so that we know how much food to order/make and know how much space we will need. Much love, and I hope to see many of you there! Azala

Sup fellow nerds. This is the feedback thread for Azala Guwan. Please share your opinions and thoughts on her. If you have criticism please share it constructively, I know I am not perfect. From some holes in my knowledge of the lore to mistakes you may of seen in game I would appreciate them being pointed out. Also, if you enjoy playing with Azala, I would love to hear about it. I'd like to know what kind of impact she has on the station.

[Accepted] Zundy - Human Lore Dev App
Tomiix replied to Zundy's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Not often do regular members of the community go out of their way to create events and engage people with the lore both in game and out. Zundy is a rare example of someone who goes out of their way each round or spends a good amount of time out of the game engaging with the lore. Just off the top of my head his Unathi chaplin character is super engaging with the other unathi crewman, even going as far as to ask them to participate in his forum post discussion in character. His organization of the Atlas event also shows his dedication not only to the lore, but the human lore. He seems like the only logical choice as the successor for the human lore, and unquestionably gets my +1. -
I made it a little meme awhile ago that I wanted to be the Wizard Lore dev. As much as I found that funny, I see great potential in the Wizard Federation as a faction to develop and give more meat and bones to for future staff run events. The TL;DR is... The Wizard Federation is a human founded federation that is no longer antagonistic towards Nanotrasen, but instead works with Nanotrasen in secret. They are essentially another space corporation that has a interest in assisting Nanotrasen with supernatural messes in return for great rewards. Allows for backstory reasons for if you are gifted with the Wizard role for you to do more than just the generic rogue wizard, although that is provided as an option. These options include -The before mentioned 'do whatever dafuq i want rogue wizard' that is now SEPARATE from the federation. -A federation wizard known as a Merlin that is looking to help the crew fight supernatural phenomena. May it be another rogue wizard or a cult. -A wizard that serves as part of a team of wizards for MAGIC ERT or MAGIC DEATHSQUAD. With these proposed ideas, the following would be proposed to development. - Allowance to have multiple wizards as a possible game mode. For sweet magic duels for either a Merlin vs Wizard or Wizard vs Wizard. - On special occasions allow Wizard as a respawn role similar to ERT to respond to magical disaster at adminbus will if it would make the round more interesting. and to admins - I would love to help plan wizard events with you if you would let me. Here is the fluff, and the part I TL;DRD It's just a summary, and if the premise is interesting I could go on and on writing out intricate details, but wanted to gauge player interest in the idea and admin/dev/lore team comments on such.

Feedback: Faysal Al-Shennawi and Sslazhir Yinzr
Tomiix replied to Alberyk's topic in Character and Concept Feedback
I really enjoyed having you as my research director the one round you played as them with me. It was a fun round and we were a productive AF science department. It's unfortunate that we don't have characters that have more occasion to play with each other. -
I'm just here so I don't get blocked.

I think the issue is that magic missile is not a good spell to give apprentices. If we like the spell where it is right now it is at it's strongest when a wizard is by themselves and they need to buy more time for their escape option. Apprentices will be in groups of wizards... and therefore should be given spells that are simple and straightforward. Knock and Ethereal Jaunt do this well, as they are both straight forward movement options and allow them to provide utility to their master. Either A.) change the behavior of magic missile so that it is a single target. This brings it in line with how EVERY OTHER GAME DOES MAGIC MISSILE. A volley of three or so unerring magic shots that doesn't do a lot of damage but can't miss. This way the wizkids can be useful and they have no spells that can potentially harm fellow wizards or normal people that they don't want to accidently hurt and cause the HoS to get pissy. or B.) Give them a new spell entirely that is offensive but new player friendly and leave magic missile to the professionals. Giving wizards a blanket immunity to certain spells closes out design space for if you want to do some interesting events or antag gimmicks like wizard battles

Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: TomiixStarslasher Character Name(s): Azala Huz'kai, Sir Ver, and Jedark Korpar are the ones with the most playtime. AI Name(s): Lunaris Preferred means of contact: Discord primarily, if for some reason you want a number for an emergency (I cannot think of a justifiable reason for it however) I can provide a phone number as long as it doesn't cause me any charges besides my normal text and call fees. Age: 22 Timezone: -5:00 EST Standard When are you on Aurora?: I am trying my best to adapt to a normal sleep schedule, I am on the most around the dinner hours of my time zone. Experience How long have you played SS13?: For three years sporadically. Mainly played on Yogstation 13 and Colonial Marines before... How long have you played on Aurora: moving to Aurora in 2016. I played off and on in Aurora, before deciding to dedicate my time to making Aurora my home half a year. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Unfortunately I get a lot of my information from /tg/, where in many ways it doesn't translate well to bay. So most of my years playing ss13 are kinda wasted in this regard. I can advise on Robotics now with 100% certainty, I am proficient with research, have basic understanding of the rest of science. I understand the mechanics behinds security's operation. Last time I tried to set up the engine I leaked phoron all over it, I understand the civilian mechanics, and the basics of medical. I also understand the command structure and station directives. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: The only experience I have with moderating for a SS13 is my own copy of the Aurora build that I keep on my computer for sprite testing and mechanics testing. I can easily and already have begun to learn and pick up how the moderation panels work, with a little bit of help I should do fine with it. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No, and not applicable. Personality Why do you play SS13?: Because I really enjoy the simplistic look but crazy attention to detail of SS13. It is by far one of the more realistic simulations of what it would be like to be a spaceman. As someone who enjoys sci-fi I loved playing space station 13 because not only does it do that, and during one game have a normal realistic experience. The next game you can be dodging fireballs from a crazy space wizard or drilling your way into the AI core to stop it from blowing up the station. Why do you play on Aurora?: I play on Aurora because if fits the pacing that I found I enjoy the best. Even on Yogstation I did my best to fill in the lack of lore with interesting characters with their own stories and would go out of my way to roleplay. While some users on that server find it entertaining, others would just see you typing and see it as an advantage to take. I like that Aurora allows you to play a character and in a way affect the living lore of the server. Sure I can't be a Unathi Chaplin that believes he is a paladin of bahamut and run around being a crusader, claiming I will be a dragon in the afterlife... since the lore of the server doesn't allow for that, however creativity is best tested with limitations. Because of Aurora I made interesting characters within a world I can believe in, and the tradeoff is one I am willing to accept. What do moderators do?: Typically a moderator's job for a game is to ensure that players have a good experience. In this vein this requires moderators to enforce a certain set of rules and be useful resources to help new players. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: The player enjoyment factor is even more in play here, as Aurora is a heavy RP server. There are high expectations for the quality and enjoyment of a game when it comes to its lore, and high expectations from the playerbase. Because of this a Aurora Station moderator has to pay careful attention to how other players are playing their character, and be available to assist them so that they get the most out of the experience and so that they don't ruin it for others. Why do you want to be a moderator?: One of the things that stands out about ss13 is how it's players are able to walk away from the experience and tell stories of conquest or failure, I want to be able to help facilitate in doing that. Whether by helping admins with events or enforcing the rules of the server that help ensure that players have a good experience, I will get to assist in doing so. I have moderated for countless other forums, websites, and video games. It's something I always end up pursuing when I fall in love with a community or game. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: In terms of leadership, the first thing I always like to mention is that I am someone who was a boyscout, and attain its highest rank, Eagle scout. I am very proud to share this with people because scouting does a great job in teaching its members fundamental skills about working with others and being a good leader. For example, I have learned that the best way to get a good response from someone you are trying to encourage to do something is to do it yourself, also known as leading by example. By being a good player, by tempering myself and following the rules myself, and playing alongside the other players, I am already contributing to the goodwill and learning of the people around me. I can further expand on this by being a moderator, as I would have the power and ability to specifically help people who need it, which is something I am willing to do. I was constantly giving leadership positions while in scouting, from being a leader of my own patrol, to becoming the coleader and then senior patrol leader, AKA the leader of my whole troop. So I am used to directing and enforcing rules to my own peers, and to be honest working on Aurora will be working on a lower scale with a lot more help then I am used to. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I am currently employed as a Server at a dine in movie theater in a fairly rough part of town. I have been spat on and harassed constantly by customers and have never raised my voice. Hell sometimes I even smile at them, as killing them with kindness is the best form of revenge I can think of. Fair enough to say I handle all three fairly well. If I didn't I better learn how to quickly, as I am going to be going to Police Academy next year, and I am trying to become a police officer. So being unable to manage those three would be a huge disadvantage in that field. Anything Else You Want to Add: I have observed and worked with multiple moderation teams for eight years now, I have grown up working with people to help run their servers. I am used to interacting with players and I have grown into the role with the help of other good minded players. However I am not blind to the major downfalls of certain moderators, and the risks that are taken when you take in new ones. I have seen moderators that have been taken in that don't fit well with the culture of the playerbase, or moderators who clearly just want to be the boss of someone else and still be taken, and the pitfalls of doing so. I have seen moderation and administration styles that worked and some that have failed. Being a formerly active admin of a steam/discord group with at one time 500+ members I feel like I had figured out a good balance and style, and only stopped and let it fade away because I choose to. (It was for a game I lost interest in, and a majority of the group was losing interest in as well.) Needless to say I feel like I am plenty qualified on a personality level, as I humbly just want to help the server I am growing to love maintain a quality play experience. I understand and want to make clear my downfalls however, I need a lot more work when it comes to perfecting my knowledge of the different fields of this game. While this downfall won't stop me from being to handle player problems, it will prevent me from helping ensure the station doesn't implode because someone else made a honest mistake, or the game just faces an error. I make this clear and apparent because I want to make sure the team who is deciding who they want to be a moderator makes a correct decision, and if they feel I am not suitable because of this I want to make my position and goal here clear as crystal. In summary, my intentions coming into this application is to volunteer my available free time into helping the server I enjoy run smoothly and to ensure that the player base is enjoying themselves. Because if they are enjoying their game and aren't running into issues, then I am as well. I feel I am very strong in the field of player interaction, and enforcing rules and handling judgments. I don't feel I am very strong when it comes to the more complex game mechanics, however I am willing (of course) to learn them and become proficient with them. If the staff feel like I am a worthy addition to the team, then I am excited to get started, however I wouldn't blame you for not accepting me if you would prefer to take on a volunteer with more knowledge and time on the server.

BYOND Key:TomiixStarslasher Character name:Azala Guwan Item name:Azala's Gentleman's Coat, Azala's Gentleman's Cap, Azala's Roboticist Jumpsuit Why is your character carrying said item to work? Azala was given the unique opportunity by a generous Research Director one shift to experiment with clothing that could take any shape. Azala spent that time to not only experiment with the item but to experiment with her sense of style. Since up to that point she simply either wore traditional robes from her home or uniforms. She figured out through using this device that she liked old male human styled clothing. So with the little amount of money she has she has bought herself a nice coat and hat to help express her tomboyishness and sense of style from a space thrift shop. She also deplores the dark colors of her jumpsuit and opted for a lighter colored version. Item function(s): The coat is insulated so that she can enter the freezer when she is assigned as a chef without freezing. Item description: Coat - "A blue gentleman's coat. It is very stylish, and appears to be very warm." Cap - "A blue gentleman's cap. It is very stylish, and appears to be warped from being worn crooked." Jumpsuit - "A variation of the Roboticists Jumpsuit." Item appearance: Spirited already for your convenience. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4zRPYQQ4qS4SmJWSG56ajEzb28/view?usp=sharing How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? The coat will help visualize Azala's personal style. It can be an excellent conversation starter as she is a woman who likes to wear men's clothing, and it lets her stand out and have something to wear that isn't a lab coat when she isn't doing work. The heavy emphasis on the blue is to show her embracing what makes her unique, her interesting scale color, something that most other Unathi try and put her down for. In this way the coat hat and jumpsuit helps empower her. Additional comments: I just wanted to give thanks to Lohikar for pointing me in the right direction when it comes to sprites and Alberyk for being the cool Research Director.
