So....Power armor?

Lemmeee see dem mods brah. I play this all the time

I might have had the occasional moment of bad judgement as a moderator previously, but I think I generally did a good job as a moderator. As previously said, I did have some emotional turmoil during that time, but these moments certainty weren't random and were generally justified. Other than that, I don't recall any complaints about me, but I probably could've done the notes a little better and in a bit more detail. I certainly fixed my emotional issues with equal parts medication and talks with people that I think of as close to me, many of which play here. And I've already begun to make notes more in-depth and explanatory in their nature during my time as a trial moderator. If "Gel" means "get along with" or something of that manner, I am confident I'd be great with other members of staff, I have a personal, friendly relationship with most of the staff members and i get along with all of them rather well. Even if I have a negative opinion of the individual, the administrative setting is hardly a place for that to be displayed, It's a professional setting and I'd handle it that way. Someone who handles situations appropriately, not dealing out "punishments" in excess of what the particular event 'deserves'. And someone who realizes when their personal interests or feelings conflict with that of the server and or the administrative team and exempts themselves from that situation, allowing other staff which're unbiased to handle the issue appropriately.

Unathi Application - Covert0ddity
Dea Tacita replied to Covert0ddity's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've both talked and RPed with Covie for quite a bit of time, longer than many of you guys have even played on Aurora. He has provided a plethora of enjoyable and memorable RP experiences, and, has made my personal experience very pleasant. With entertaining characters that I see few equals to on Aurora, let alone SS-13. Out of anyone, I'd say Covie definitely deserves this whitelist. +1 -
Well, as for me being on often. I've had certain extenuating circumstances that've made my time recently limited which I've already cleared with Frances. We also live half-way around the world from each other, so it's not totally unexpected that we wouldn't see each other on often. But yes, you do have a point with the emotional turbulence, but as I replied to Gollee's comment, I'm certain I've overcome that by this point.

I can't dispute this at all. I honestly wasn't a very good lore developer at all, getting very emotional and essentially being childish towards some things that didn't warrant that at all. But In my defense, most of my previous time on the lore team was a time in-which I was extremely emotionally unbalanced due to a rapid-fire series of medical issues that hit me and depressed me a great deal. I apologize sincerely to you Gollee, I respect you immensely and I didn't treat you nor any of the other lore developer (Table, Rusty, Nik, Erik) in a way they deserved, though I might not have had the smoothest relationship with all of you, I truely consider all of you my friends and deeply regret my idiotic behavior. I've gotten beyond the "Emotional" stage and am on several medications meant to balance out my psyche, and I wish everyone to know I am fully capable of cooperating in the moderator team in manner that would better the server for our players. I think anyone that I've trial-modded with can back me on that.

There was a guy back on Athena who did this actually.

We're getting a merge with Bay's most recent stuff, yes? Bay addressed this months ago, so this should be fixed. Based on previous experience, mergers take awhile as we've got to integrate the changes the dev team has made

Experience as a trial mod thus far along Sue has been positive as TishinaStalker indicated. Reversing my -1 to a tentative +1 for the time being.

Because duck is duck +1 Also amazing RP and those such things.

Here goes, Even my interactions with Sue as a friend have been usually filled with insults, I can say that she doesn't really mean any of those. Sure, Sue can come off as "ABSURDLY hostile" as LetzShake mentioned, but that's simply part of her non-professional personality. In situations like these, you can't judge someone's personality for a situation /entirely/ off of their casual personality. Why? Because personalities change based on the situation. Lets take me for example: I will not lie, I have a real cursing issue, and I think people on Team Speak can tell that from a glance. It's not rare at all to hear me say the word "fuck" or "shit" repeatedly in a sentence, no matter what my tone or what I'm talking about is, but this is when I'm talking with people that I know that don't or won't care. Would I talk like this with my parents? With my boss at work? With my professor? No, I would not because situations like those require more finesse. In a situation like being a moderator, I have no doubt Sue's personality would also adjust to the situation just like most people. I can tell with certainty that her casual personality would not rub off on her personality as staff, and I've witnessed this as an administrator on Exogenesis. On Exogenesis, our coders practically had the same power as an administrator due to our low staff count, and Sue never really went postal on a person through ahelps from what I had seen (and I was on Exogenesis almost every single day until it died) until they were being offensive to her and showing no signs to show any relent; at which point, she would give them a final word, and apply a ban if I was not online or was busy with homework. Aside from bashing her for this, I'm going to give my Pragmatist solution: I would suggest to have a staff member to test Sue on this and if she fails, then to tell her how it could've been handled in a more calm, levelheaded manner, and work with her on this to improve things. Everybody can learn from past mistakes. Don't define the final product by its prototype phase because the final product can always contain either minor differences or a BIG difference. In conclusion, your casual personality is /not/ your personality for every single situation. I'm TishinaStalker, and this is my +1 on why Sue should at least be given a shot as a Trial Moderator. my account was given from professional interactions with her in development. She did not adjust whatsoever, coming off just as arrogant and self-serving as ever. Administrating/Moderating is hard enough as-is without having to dread another member of the team that ruins the experience coming online and ruining your day. And while your post makes no-doubt good points, both my professional and personal experience with her, sticking with a firm "hell no" and from this thread alone, it's obvious many others agree with me

I'm sure someone, somewhere will see this as a conflict of interest (Seeing as I'm also applying for mod). But here it goes Sue is a pretty great dev who does rather amazing things and has done some great stuff on Aurora. However, she is belligerent, arrogant, confrontational and, honestly rather self-righteous in her attitude. While I don't really have a problem with how she acts, I do have a problem with someone with those traits being on our staff. Very, VERY strong -1.

This would also require a UI redesign to incorporate a neck slot. While I like the idea, I think it'd be a tad too much work for the staff.

Ozemandea's Xeno Whitelist Application

Typically, people apply to a single race at a time... -
Nightmare is a pretty gr8 admin and a decently close friend whose been there when I need them. But that aside, I do agree with generally everything stated here. Another example, and I believe that this has probably already been mentioned is a situation where I was Head of Security and Nasir disabled/injured the entirety of security, around 8 or so officers from what I recall. Though my memory isn't what it once was, so I might be wrong on that. But regardless, his character was tazed, stunned, and, flashed dozens of times, and, yet he continued to rambo through security without a modicum of roleplay. He wasn't even involved in the arrest being made actually. Eventually, when he was finally detained. His character did nothing but attempt to escape, curse at everyone involved even remotely in the situation, and scream about how he was going to "Crush my wind pipe" or something equally crude. But yeah, mistakes were made on both sides of that incident (Myself included) but....honestly, that alone just.... murdered playing security for me.
