[mention]Eve[/mention] I can only go by what I've seen and the few times I've seen Eva on the server, she has cryo'd after barely saying or doing anything. I do not doubt you play rounds to completion, but still seeing a number of rounds makes me worried about your ability to decide when a round is good to join or not. I don't expect 100% attendance or determination to keep to a round all the time, just focus on only playing Command if you are planning to stick around. Since you play other characters, I am way more okay with this app. I fear seeing someone only play one char, get a command app, and then bugger off because command isn't as easy or as available as they thought. Still I must ask will Eva be willing to come on the station as an Atmos Tech should she get clearance for Command?

Senior is a pretty cool dude with a lot of good ideas and a generally good attitude. He was the first maintainer to start pointing out how a lot of lore pages were funky with a desire to fix them up. This inspired me to work more on getting the wiki team to work more with the lore team as well as get a lot of positive attention. He went over some of his ideas and little things he's done for background flavour within the Auroraverse. I think he'd be outstanding in helping work on human lore and give the galaxy that much more life!

Position Being Applied For (Species Maintainer, Deputy Lore developer, Wiki Maintainer, Lore Developer): Deputy Lore Developer Humanity Past Experiences/Knowledge: This is pretty tough to show because I have done a lot of work for 40k related things and I can absolutely understand that being a major turn off for many people. I mostly did my own little twist on the setting for RPGs I ran. I will admit several of the campaigns crashed, but many others went all the way through. I have not run an RPG in quite some time. I was also a lore writer before for a 40k group long ago. I would rather not name it now since the group is basically a dead meme now; however, I will if asked. The lore I worked with specialized with the Imperial Guard (or the average man army of 40k). I am also the Wiki Manager, so I have a strong connection with the wiki already. I know how to work it and how to find things, though most of the recent improvements are thanks to my team being very good. Examples of Past Work: A lot of this will be links to google drive docs relating to 40k stuff. If that is an issue I am fine with anyone just ignoring the links. I do not want to do that. I just enjoyed a lot of aspects about 40k. The overly done grimdarkness of the setting is only something I enjoy when the setting seems to take it as more of a joke. I do not want Aurora to be more grimdark. I tried to show a lighter side in 40k for most of my writings about it. I also feel I should say I am just fascinated by humanity in science fiction settings. I love alternate histories for humanity or the made up histories going forward. I love seeing how human society has changed depending on the sci-fi. I love seeing how humans interact with alien species whenever applicable. For a while human lore stagnated, but since Zundy has picked it up humanity has been rolling again and feels relevant once more. I just simply wish to throw my hat in the ring for a chance to help.

"One sentence response. +1" In all seriousness. No I haven't seen much of Eve on server, but they do seem to know their stuff. However, their character is a bit of a joke to me as mostly an outsider. They sleep a lot. The few times I've seen them, they've gone to cryo at about the 30 minute marks. I do believe I was getting on late compared to them, so that could explain it. Also stuff just happens; however, a Head needs to be there. Also a worrying thing is One character listed. Applying for whitelist with that one character. I can count on one hand how many people have actually stuck around after getting their whitelist in situations like that. Do you really only have one character, or do you just focus on one character? By focusing I mean you play that character more and more seriously than other characters you might view as minor. (I have more questions depending on this answer). As for the rest of the app, it looks pretty good. The bit about the arm is interesting and so is the family making influences. Connected your char with an existing, established, and liked CE is a good thing. Your character sounds like she will be a bit harsh and hard to work with, but will prove competent and able to handle it. I am not completely sure if I can say "I completely trust Eve" but I am willing to say: I think Eve deserves a shot. Especially considering how there are so many mediocre to just bad CE's. More good ones will be welcome as it will prevent me from making the mistake of having a head whitelist.

Alright, well i won't really need a few days to think on this. I've had plenty of time over the last day and a good night's sleep after moving back into my apartment. Let's dig in. First I'm glad people are actually commenting on a Wiki Maintainer application. I would encourage more people, especially other wiki maintainers to voice their opinions on applicants. It lets me get a good idea if my team thinks the applicant will fit in on the team. Now you all typed a lot of words, but my responses will be mostly brief. First Xander Response The wiki team is part of staff. There is no getting around it. You are applying for a staff position. You would be apart of the staff team. I am glad you wish to help the wiki, but perhaps you are looking for more of an off staff role. Which is completely possible without application. I try not to be unapproachable. My discord is set for anyone to send me messages and I try to respond to everything I am sent. Also does Jackboots know about Garn's ruling on you and staff positions. I know I didn't until you posted this response, and you contacted me asking if I was still looking for applicants. Berry Response I have similar fears as detailed by very here. If I accept Xander, how long until he goes off on some member of staff or goes off on me for something? Xander Second Response I am not going to spoil anything, but I am speaking with Jackboots about something involving the wiki devs. That would make the "silent helper" thing a little more difficult. There is also a clear difference, Xander, in how you conduct yourself in messages and how you conduct yourself in public places. Xander you're applying for a staff position and with the concerns voiced in this thread and to me privately by others, I have to decline this application. However, I do strongly encourage you to look at helping Aurora however you see fit. Your last message to me about an idea for the wiki is fantastic and I would love to have it implemented. Yet I cannot see you working well in the staff position. I would love for more people to just be involved with the wiki altogether. It's why I made a public thread and it's pinned in the guides section. I admit I have not updated the thread properly in some time. I am going to get on that after I finish this response. I have no problem with people throwing me ideas for the wiki. That thread will slowly turn into more of an idea thread instead of a simple "Fix guide" thread. I didn't mean to paint you as a saint, and I refuse to go on spouting arm chair psychiatric metric at you. Did I ever doubt you wouldn't' take the opportunity if it was offered? No. Did I think this was done purely out of the kindness of your heart? No. Do I think this thread should exist? Yes, in one form or another. Do I think it's been good so far? Yes.

While it seems some people may be thinking this thread is somehow a bad thing, it has given me a lot to think about. It should give people things to think about. The point isn't that Coalf wants to unanimously usurp Jackboot's of his power, but instead a thread to start discussion. I think this is a fine thread to do it. It makes a statement and sends a clear message. It makes a useless, idle threat something that matters and punishes someone for simply doing it. And since some of you like to ping me so much about the wiki. Remember I started work on the wiki with literally no experience. I was jeered before I applied. Now I am manager of it. Now the wiki is an actual team of people. Now the wiki is improving.

I have very high doubts this will go through; however, I am glad this was made in a serious effort. People put a lot of meme junk on Coalf, because he memes a lot. However, he is someone who cares about the server, it's lore, it's players, and roleplay. I feel too few people really care about roleplay. I think Coalf would actually take the role very seriously and work with people in a very nice way. I actually believe Coalf should be an admin, but that's a topic for another thread. I like the idea with increasing the lore team to have more people to handle lists and consolidate things. I feel the current team is too careful with its secrets and just lets so much fall apart because they wanna keep a secret until their grand reveal. I think opening up a little more would be good. Working with more people would be good. I hope that something comes of this so we don't constantly stagnate with the camps that are forming around this server. I had a question and I lost it. Maybe it will come back to me soon.

Will this just kind of be a conversation starter for the locker room, arrivals, or departures? Just someone sees the guitar and asks about it, Richards says something about it and get a little bit of banter on it? If that's the goal I like it. A little odd, but you explained how Richards lives, so I kind of get it.

Hey thanks for pointing out something is wrong with the wiki. Could you please move this post to this threat: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=8566 ? I made that thread to have a solid place for people to post so I or another maintainer could see the post and get on fixing the issues (if they are deemed proper issues) in good time. Either way I'll be looking to update the wiki accordingly.

I see. I am absolutely fine with a few special cases for intern pages. Medical Resident is one such special case. I will strongly take into consideration the making of that page just because a lot could be said for it. However, I am less likely to feel a full page is necessary for something like Security Cadet.

For a while a question has been in my head: Should we have intern level job pages on the wiki? I have been against them personally. I see them as a waste of a page, when their information can easily be added to specific job pages. However, intern pages could help people more easily see and understand they exist. It could open the doors to how people start in more departments properly, instead of newbies going straight for very important roles. I will be using this poll as a way to see what the community thinks overall, but I also want a discussion to form from this. Please explain your vote if possible. I had virtually no wiki experience when I first got on the wiki team those months ago. That's not really a problem since most of it isn't so hard and I have pages on standby to help. I need more active maintainers and more people who actually see problems with the pages or paths. I have so many pages that chrome just remembers that I hardly need to search through the wiki for anything anymore. Application accepted.

Hiya, you've got a pretty good app with plenty of actual wiki experience, but I have a few things to address immediately. 1. Wiki Devs are not lordevs, we don't just edit lore pages without permission. However, if you talk to the correct loredev and they give you an OK that's totally fine. Just remember that before you do anything with the lore. 2. You have an insanely strange personality to me. You ping people several times a day just to say small messages, you say just random things, and there was the whole name change fiasco (I'm not getting into my opinions on how that was handled.). Just tone that stuff down for me. Please! Anyway, application accepted.

Wow I really like this app. I've seen Incog RP and know he's capable enough in that regard without just echoing what others are saying. He's used dates more effective than I ever could and has a really detailed background for this character, that sadly ends abruptly. I can't wait to see how you fix up that ending. Even with it I firmly believe you have a strong grasp on RP and handling a cat char.
