Spirits Guide Clan Aizagi Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. It is the 18th of the 4th month of Travakh (July 27th GST), and it is a day to remember the ancestors of the Clan Aizagi. A historically upstanding clan, the Aizagi have held their ancestral lands in the southwestern hemisphere for 600 years, and have finally lost it to the Wastes and to the Izweski. The Aizagi clan history has all but ended. Today, Lord Sanz Izweski forced the Aizagi from their final land holdings. Lord Izweski walked into their keep in the town of Greysands with ten men and announced their eviction, including that this land was now owned by the Izweski for the construction of new terraforming equipment. Ozia Aizagi, one of the last remaining men of the Aizagi, did not have enough healthy levymen available to defend his birthright and stand against the Izweski command. He was forced to walk from his clan's ancient home with his wife and two daughters, with nothing but the robes they wear. With no male heir, the middle-aged Ozia Aizagi may be the last of his clan to see their ancestral keep. Their keep is already being renovated by the Izweski, for the arrival of a new clan leader of the town. Sanz Izweski is said to be taking the local area under his own name, and says he will continue to be the hand in the Southern Habitable Zone to his far cousin Not’zar, going on further about how terraforming equipment is going to be set up in the area to preserve the now-Izweski land. Take a moment in your prayers today to wish for the safe journey of the Aizagi clan, and may their ancestors help them on their path, wherever it may lead.

[Withdrawn] Burger's Developer Application
SleepyWolf replied to BurgerBB's topic in Developer Applications Archives
That is not acceptable behaviour that we want from a staff member, and it's frankly not at all funny. At all, in any way. I don't want Burger on the staff team. If you even look over their discord messages, even with context, they're a bundle of toxicity and bullshit racism, even if he says it's not racist it fucking is and he hasn't stopped. Here's an example. I know it was already posted but it's huge bullshit. You can go back and look in the discord logs for context as well, he badly tries to explain it. He's tried to defend himself here as well but he's not stopped, as you can see in Jackboot's screenshot. I don't want this even in the discord. -
Jawdat was just trying to keep everyone safe. The only people that were there were non-crucial roles and one heavily brain-damaged security officer that couldn't speak or walk straight. Sure, some other HoP's might order cargo to purchase grenade launchers and spears, but there are multiple ways to handle any situation. We're a roleplay server, and if someone doesn't do an action, sometimes it's intentional and in character. I don't think I've ever heard of a warning being given over someone NOT doing something, I can't think of any examples. "You could have at least attempted to coordinate, inform and direct security so that they could deal with the situation in a way you see fit, and in a way that complies with your character's knowledge limits. " Jackboot was coordinating, informing, and directing the civilian department he has control of. And, as far as I'm aware, the CE was the one giving commands to Security, having two officers follow him at one point and then having them deal with the borgs. ALSO, Jackboot was in a meeting with CCIA for most of the beginning of the round, probably 15-25 minutes, missing out on a lot of information. I'd like to hear HoS's reasoning and would encourage the warning removed?

hey there here's a few things to HELP: A good way to make your character feel alive is to include an outside force and how your character would react to it. Here, we're only seeing your characters training, nothing of how they deal with problems. For one of my characters, Ka'Akaix'Gorb, he sells budget translators and gambles to get credits, as well as buy kois from the station for his brood with that money. Or Ka'Akaix'Ghoz, who was forced out of the VR system to work, and is trying to find ways to cope, ways such as trying to augment the real world so he can control everything - just like he could in VR. If you add a story to your character, with goals that fit to the setting and reactions that make the character unique, you'll get somewhere with this application. Vaurcae do have personalities, and your application right now is lacking it, it feels like an application for a bound drone. Good luck, can't wait to see if you improve it!

I wish people would choose characters they played frequently, instead of ones they never played and were getting rid of tbh

i agree. i don't feel loyalty implants contribute properly and they have an incorrect feel to me. what i would LIKE is a lore development on them, since we have all these peopel fucking up with them. we had a bunch of 'shit these loyalty implants DONT WORK' lately and i think Nanotrasen should do shit to maybe get them away. maybe blame Kalren Halstere going haywire on them.

fucking shit. ferguson did SO much good shit during the murder arc, if you saw anything from it he definitely deserves this whitelist. he's actively working to show off a professional work ideal thing and Jack is TOTALLY Head material, even with the vodka. plus it makes sense in the scene for Kingston to get a promotion right now after he helped in that case. ferguson is also a great roleplayer and understands the importance of flaws in characters, which i always admire. a++

the thing is everyone knows asthma but nobody knows what 'dypnsea' is and although i'd research it most people won't learn what it means and just see that weird combo of letters that looks like the name of a teletubby. asthma is known by everyone and if someoene wants to roleplay a different affliction as far as i know the effects of 'Asthma' are only in mechanically, not by name in game.

and just like that .... they're gone

i really enjoy the storytelling aspect you can make in lore. the world is already set for me to create these interesting arcs with weaving political ideals and stories, and me throwing fertilizer of ideas into the writing power that is jackboot. SURe, i could continue as i do now and just talk to jackboot alone, but being part of the team would be so FUN and add another layer for me to talk with the whole lore team about ideas. i would love to delve into all the things you listed as well, sprites (Dronz is doing some pretty good ones, and i have done some maraziite garb in the past that could be added to the loadouts,) heck i would love to even add my own little religious tales of how Sk'akh threw a spear from the sky and it struck the top of a mountain, where the rocks were thrown down and morphed into the body of a modern Sinta, or some deviation of that in Th'akh faith where the first spirits molded a unathi body from clay, let it rest on a rock under the Burning Mother, and then posessed it to be alive. i have a lot of ideas to just add more old-tale notable unathi, and other misc junk! anyways if jackboot were murdered as soon as i gained the position (long live jackboot) i wouldn't change the world dramatically, he has it where i want it. i would move forward in the arcs, have political dynamics shift maybe, and i would ask for a lore deputy that's good at writing to help put the fruits of my creativity to cohesive paragraphs. -

hi god you Spooked me WELL, the relationship between the three religions do have a good dynamic because of how antagonizing they can be to each other, and how they are also so similar. The Maraziites are a key role in the Sk'akh faith, and they're domineering and even hold a grasp on the neck of the Hegemony. You can make a character non-domineering and forceful in the Sk'akh religion for sure, have Th'akh, Sk'akh, and Si'akh all holding hand in hand happily sharing stories about their ancestors, how they're all gonna be so happy when they die. the turmoil is in the nations and people that see gain in the aggression on others. Sk'akh hates Th'akh because it's heretical and some denominations of Th'akh have bloodmagic-ish shit (in my mind) and a lot of sk'akh believers must have steryotypes for what Th'akh are. Si'akh is just a madlad doomsday boy that goes around yelling to be good to thy neighbor and running from maraziites, and the Th'akh believers just kinda nod and smile and be happy he's not a maraziite. this SHOULD change in my opinion. there's been a few times it's definitely seems like it was going to change, (Akhanzi boys being run out, that one raid that happened a few months ago on terraforming equipment). Unathi are one of the most in-depth species for the reason they have all these places to come from, and it actually does feel like different parts of a world. There is a point where you can get too in-depth, with too many options or too conveluted lore, but the main storylines we have/can make are all simple and understandable. The Contact war happened, one side won and the other side is supposed to be super dead. This is very simple, and there's so much that can be made to continue the on-planet storyline even with just that. We've talked about a few ways to expand on the independent factions before, and the best way is to show the embers becoming ash, being thrown around in the wind with no more ability to retaliate. It'll allow a deeper look into the Coalition, and how it is now. A morbid obituary for the last living clans could be made on the Wasteland Window, broadcasting which clan was killed off, run out into the wasteland, or turned into raiders this week. Well, this IS Tau Ceti. All the outliers come to the system of all cultures. We should only be strict about them becoming issues when they become issues. If there's a Unathi roboticist, I'd totally talk to them about a few ways to Unathi-ize their work! They could 'bless' every little nut and bolt they work into a synthetic, and if they're saying synths are people, we do enforce the fact with most of our lore that they can be discriminated against, even reminding the player that they would be discriminated against in Unathi society. If worse comes to worse and someone steps way too far out of lore bounds, (for ex, dating a robot), we can tell them to stop that or else we'll enforce actions. Although I'm REALLY fond of outlier characters and the ideas you can make with them, we still do have a sorta main 'idea' and don't want to have a 'Vorestation' aesthetic to our world, with characters that don't fit into the lore at all. I plan to give life to those amorphous faces that are being 'removed' from their lands by the Izweski, making them more than just a single line of text that a skilled player can make a backstory from for sure, but I want to make something someone who's just applying now would read and be like, 'Imperial hating traditionalist person that was forced off their land for a new parking lot? Heck yeah I wanna do that!' Unathi have their heroism-inspired society. Every kid is raised and told, 'You can be a hero if you try hard enough.' Their stories are idealistic and their honour code seeps into every aspect of their life. The religious wars, the notable heroes and villains (even though that's ambiguous as one persons hero is always someone elses villain in our lores), the hardcore traditionalist versus the more progressive traditionalists. Some of these things can definitely be in other species, but the honour code is something that's the most iconic. It's the root of all warfare, all society, all religion. Their honour code is what makes their religion different from the Dominian religion. I wrote this all out over a long while and I spoke with you over a few things that might have changed during this! -

Ckey/BYOND Username: Sleepy Wolf Position Being Applied For Unathi Deputy Lore Dev Past Experiences/Knowledge: Mostly making characters that stress the lines of what they are on the wiki, while still being believable! I've helped with a lot of the Unathi lore in the past, drawn a ton of stuff, and made a lot of my own characters stories while playing along with narrative and flow! I've been Diona loredev for a few months on this server and really enjoyed contributing to the lore team. Examples of Past Work: I fixed up a lot of the timeline issues about 9 months ago with Dionaea, helped them feel less disconnected from the other races. I collaborated with the other devs to find out a better timeline for them, and make a bit of the cluttered mess that was their wiki before into less of a 'We're here now, oh no wait, we're here! Oh right, and this happened 150 years ago but it didn't matter.' Most of my examples of past work are my characters, they're snowflakey characters for sure but they fit into the lore - it helps you find out how far you can expand your own lore and what starts to feel not involved in our lore. If you push the boundaries with your characters, you can set the boundaries better and find out what things should and shouldn't be in lore! A good example is Aez Goldhorn, a Dominian pirate turned Si'akh. and thus hated by both Dominia and most of the Hegemony. This is not at ALL the traditional Unathi character, but playing all the extremes you can in your lore lets you say 'hey, if you're THIS kind of extreme you're most likely to be THIS kinda person', and it lets you streamline it for other people that aren't as good at thinking of those exotic eccentric characters! Additional Comments: I have a lot of ideas and know a lot of where the lore is going (i think) and so, i'd really enjoy being back on the team. also i've been up for a while now please excuse any grammar mistakes or run on sentences. -
i don't think 180 would be good. 270 would feel better

you're right. I'm fine without the rad protection.

i actually REALLY enjoy the facial sprite concept! And on thinking about it, Unathi having actual defined differences with gender dimorphism makes sense. i would endorse this because i want to endorse this because - almost all characters in our setting fit to the different genders. a girl SHOULD try hard to be buffer looking, but she's still not AS buff as her awesome Square Faced Monster Dad. if you look at fanart people have, the girls always have the beautiful snakey faces while the guys all have alligator vore mouths. i think that the sprites make sense in our setting and we shouldn't be afraid of this change. i DO have a question though, will we have to change gas masks and shit to fit the masculine face properly? Also, is it possible we can just ... add this to the 'Body Colouring' area, whatever it is - the area where you just slap on the stripped shit. maybe even restrict it to just males.

BYOND key: Sleepy Wolf Character names: How long have you been playing on Aurora?: fuck like 5 years Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: WELL, I have characters that are already heads. I lost my last whitelist from playing non-head characters that were a bit too joke-y. Why did you come to Aurora?: only god knows Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is fabricating a story for the characters you create, and having them interact with other people in amazing ways. Your character fits into the narrative seamlessly, if you're a good roleplayer, while also still having three dimensional qualities - and likely goals. I personally love to roleplay like I'm in a TV series, or a movie. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: I feel it can be both antagonizing your staff below you to drive a story a bit, or pushing them to work their best. Heads of staff don't have to be amazingly charismatic people that work well with everyone and know everyones issues and how to solve social situations, sometimes they can just be there to drive a story - antagonize people with paperwork and orders, organizing them into groups but being too stubborn to change the groups when someone says 'I just don't like this guy', because they want them to 'Find a way to work together' - because that would be a better narrative! I have characters that are both ways, the 'Just work, you punks' and the 'Fuck, okay, I'll fix that with you guys by diagnosing the issue and fixing it slowly and diplomatically.' What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: To be role models, sort of? Whitelisted players are usually the most recognizable characters since they're communicating to every member in the department, and have to communicate with other department heads as well. Whitelisted players should also keep their toxicity levels to a Minimum most of the time, uphold the standards of roleplay on the server, and realize that rules are meant to be followed, because if someone sees a whitelisted player break rules constantly they feel they can do the same. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Zilosnish Szu - (Unathi HoP) Character age: 54 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Szu was born a long time before the Contact War on Moghes. Born the son of a notable blacksmith, he yearned to make a name for his clan name and ended up taking advantage of his fathers work in coin-smithing. Rising to become a Master of Coin for the city of S'th, he ended up advising the local Lords of the region in the time of the war - purchasing, bartering, and selling various supplies, armaments, and mercs to help with the issues that arrose in maintaining the city. Near the end of the war, Szu had to ration supplies between noble houses, enforce the war taxes on the city, and delegate meetings with the houses to help keep the peace - at least amoungst the rich families. After the Contact War ended, and he felt he had done his part in keeping his city safe, he retired his title of Master of Coin to his son. His new goal in life for the past few years has been to explore the galaxy - and know all sorts of exotic things. He came to Tau Ceti five years ago, and has made a name for himself in the management community. As a Head of Personnel he uses pay raises, commissions, and budget management to his advantage - moving and making credits from seemingly nothing but a few good workers. Szu now returns to work aboard the Aurora, seeking new workers to endorse his exotic interests of xeno-art, xeno-tailoring, and xeno-cuisine - all very easily found in Tau Ceti space. What do you like about this character?: If Szu sees something he likes, it might as well already be his. He'll make some sort of deal to allow Nanotrasen to purchase some exotic artifact from a trader, and if it's not found to be useful for Nanotrasen, Szu will purchase it himself for his xeno-art collection in his keep. I ALSO already have a few custom items that make Szu look REALLY cool, he's got an exotic hide mantle that was killed by a security officer he commissioned from station, it was skinned and tanned on Moghes, and tailored in Sol. You can PROBABLY tell how he'll act by just how pretentious that sounds, but I love that about him. What do you dislike about this character?: He's a coward, but don't tell that to him or he'll buy a private investigator to watch you at all times. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: He can DEFINITELY enforce his rules and regulations on people. He wants the kitchen to start having customers purchase meals for 15 credits? He'll request the HoS to station an officer to watch and make sure that happens. A cargo tech is causing issue and not taking payments from people? He'll tell the QM to deal with it or it's the cargo tech and the QM on the line for fraud or theft. Szu's probably going to be very hands-off for most issues, but still a hovering hand - constantly making sure everything's fine. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: a generous 89 Extra notes: i have a lot of old characters that i really want to play, Flaming Hearts Love Stars, Toronto-88, Szu here, and Karnaikai.

can we see this head in action? on a body?

One issue with defibs, and 'limited time' to resurrect. It makes Medical have to completely subvert security a lot of the time. Let's say a murderer slices someones throat - one dead, and security and CSI are at the scene doing analysis. Paramedics would basically be having to bullshit around and rush 100% of the time, maybe subverting actual investigations. We already had some issues with this a while ago where paramedics would just grab people with no roleplay. That's what I have to say about defibs.
