  1. If it has any bearing on your decision, I would like to point out that in every single one of these cases, I rectified the behavior and improved. I did not agree that directly assisting antags at the cost of the crew was punishable, but I have not done it since, I respected the ruling. I have not told anyone to drink tea for toxins since I was told not to. I have not attempted to move (or sedate) anyone from medical while security was active since that complaint. I would like to believe my history shows that I listen to criticism and improve my play style as needed. I have always taken being a constructive, rules oriented member of this server and its community seriously. I’d like to think you could look at said history, and my interactions with staff in the past, and trust that, given the opportunity, I would not make the same mistake.
  2. Agreed wholeheartedly. I had a round where I was branded a traitor recently, as CMO, for walking into the bar and telling crew members why we were on red alert. We had been on red for over an hour and command wouldn't so much as make an announcement. The HoS and Captain wouldn't even brief the rest of command, I had to piece it all together. We are not playing a game to be won, we are telling a story. The more people get to participate in that story, the better. I have literally come on as an antag, after admins helped me and my fellow mercs come up with a great gimmick to involve tons of crew, and been instantly brigged and ultimately, I shit you not, ordered killed, because, y'know, I was the antag. I never got to so much as see a single person outside of security. I think command players need to work harder on including people in the narrative, it's as simple as that. Whitelistees need to understand their OOC responsibility to help facilitate a round.
  3. One of those notes has nothing to do with this, the other I was ordered to do by a captain and it was a direct result of a bug. In that case, I was following orders and everything I read on the wiki made it seem like it was a perfectly safe option that (I thought) would enable to antag to continue to interact with people, just keep them from moving. I don't see how either is related to the issue that my whitelist was revoked for.
  4. BYOND Key: Resilynn Staff BYOND Key: Alberyk talked to me, but I know it was a group decision Game ID: bVy-ab6t Reason for complaint: I was notified today that my whitelist was revoked because of my tendency to move in and sedate people in medical, which I absolutely agree is an issue. Alb explained the issue to me, and I had a past player complaint on this. I'm not contesting the decision that this is inappropriate whitelistee behavior, but I would like to downgrade from a revoked whitelist to a warning, or even a temp job ban. I currently have no warnings on my account about this specific behavior (I'll post that in evidence, of course). The player complaint was resolved and I was not handed a warning for sedating anyone. The last incident, that sparked the discussion of my whitelist being revoked (which I didn't know was happening), was closed after I sent the logs to Alb. He did not tell me they would be reviewing it or even that he thought my justification, in that situation, was inappropriate, my ahelp was closed without comment (I cannot provide these logs, but I am sure Alb can). I'm more than willing to drop this behavior entirely, and I see how it's problematic. I didn't realize the issue was this severe, and I'd like to be given the chance to rectify my playstyle in this regard. So, I'm requesting that the severity of the punishment be dropped down. Obviously, I'd prefer a warning, but I understand if we need to move to something more severe. I think other than this specific issue I have done very well with my whitelist. I've never so much as gotten a complaint with my other command characters, most notably, Ellie Shoshanna, because my actions have, very much, been an in character thing. As a note, I don't think that they are justified because they are an IC thing (I really cannot emphasize enough that I don't disagree with this being an issue). So, in short, I don't want to lose my whitelist. I want a warning or reprimand first that allows me to work on this specific issue. I don't think I'll have any trouble dropping this behavior now that I realize the severity. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: Edited to include the game ID that sparked this discussion.
  5. I don’t see the problem with squarish asteroids. Roundness is a symptom of high mass and we are not on a high mass asteroid.
  6. Ellie takes a sip of coffee, brushing hair away from her eyes lightly. A small beeping noise is heard. She turns to her left briefly with a serious expression, reads something on a screen beside her, and turns back to the console and it’s camera. A thin smile toys on her lips. “How has adjusting to civilization been going. You haven’t caught some kind of space crazies, have you?”
  7. This all being said, the straight jacket was overkill and I absolutely should have tried kicking him out of medical verbally before doing so physically. I think I was justified in kicking him out, and I ahelped to see if the method I wanted to use to kick him out was acceptable. But I could have given him more of a chance and I could have incapacitated him for much less time.
  8. I wasn't aware IC or OOC that it was a joke. I had a doctor, on red alert, who kept loudly talking on comms we knew were compromised about how he'd like to work for the mercs who had killed a good half of security at this point. Before being kidnapped, he had been making these comments. A chemist that same round was also talking on the radio about how glad she was something was finally happened, which is when I first ahelped about how we had two people in our department loudly celebrating the presence of mercs to see if it was acceptable. Around this time, there is an argument on medical radio about whether what they're saying is okay- at no point do they say it is a joke. I get kidnapped. I buy my way out of it, I come back to medical. I've been shot (nonlethally), an ERT is here, most of security is dead, and my doctor is standing beside me still talking about how he'd work for them. This is when I ahelp again and explain that I can't call security and this guy is all but advertising his services to the mercs. I don't want him in my department, I have patients to handle, I can't have him removed by any normal means- security is dead or in a gunfight at the moment. So, explaining this, I ahelp, am given the go ahead, and I give him 5 units of sedatives, I put the jacket on him, I remove his ID, and I set him just outside of the medical doors where I know he'll be relatively safe. As the situation calms down, I walk security through what I did and why. When the captain arrives, I walk him through what I did and why. Throughout the rest of the round, he keeps breaking into medical- at one point stealing an officer's stunbaton and breaking glass to get in. I sedated him and removed him once more, after the stun baton incident, and had security carry him away 2-3 times. Wait.. you where aware IC that kieran was just making jokes and you and read both decided it was a good idea to sedate and jacket him? You're gonna have to walk me through this series of events step by step because i really really hope i am missing something. Otherwise this sounds like super shit behavior.
  9. It is a roleplay server. That's why I took my character's stress level after being shot and kidnapped into account when I reacted. And why, after just being stun batoned, I sedated you a second time, after you'd broken into medical. Earlier you broke in, by the way, by stealing an officer's weapon and smashing through the glass. We're on red alert, I've been barely keeping people alive, I've been shot, hit, batoned. I'm not taking any chances. As for whether I interacted with you or not, we had an entire radio argument on whether your 'joke' was acceptable. We had a conversation before I sedated you, which is why I chose to sedate you. I even copy pasted what you said to readthisnameplz when I asked if it was acceptable to move forward.
  10. So everyone is on the same page, I ahelped before doing this and was told it was acceptable. You kept making the same 'joke'. OOCly I was sure you were self antagging. ICly, If I've just been held at gunpoint and then shot, I am not going to take well to some guy joking about it, which I'm barely sure is a joke, and telling me I was not shot. I couldn't call security, I couldn't demote you, so I gave you 5 units of sedative, restrained you, and kicked you out, taking your ID to keep you out of the department. There is a reason security arrested you about 5 times after that.
  11. I want to elaborate on that specific event, because I was fairly unhappy with it as well. Players should be rewarded for creativity. Engineering and the AI cut the power to this massive weapon. The supermatter was ejected. The station basically went “we would rather die without power in space than keep killing civilians.” There could have been good rp there! But somehow this massive weapon that keeps draining the stations power could still operate without power. My issue with this event, and the events like it, isn’t that the admins ignore dchat or say cocky things or that they’re combat oriented. It’s that they are linear and player agency doesn’t seem to matter. If players pull some shit like cutting the power to the super weapon, play along with it. Work around it. Reward our creativity and effort. Because if you don’t, it just feels like we’re sitting there waiting to get killed and watching the announcements to see when the story is allowed to be over. I don’t mind losing, but RP is about agency.

  13. Reporting Personnel: Fernando Gonzales Rank of Reporting Personnel: Chief Medical Officer Game ID: Game ID: bU1-dYy Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) -Julian McCoy, Medical Doctor: Offender - Aelia Volvalaad, Medical Doctor: Witness - Nicholas Wolfe, Head of Security: Witness Time of Incident: Real time: 4:00 pm MST Location of Incident: Medbay Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault []Misconduct [x]Other: Malpractice Overview of the Incident: Around an hour into the shift, the body of Fay White was discovered by a borg, BUDDY, a roboticist, Nikit Vasili, and my usually psychiatrist turned medical doctor, Julian McCoy. Permission was asked to move forward with cloning, which I granted, putting McCoy in charge of the procedure. General cloning procedure involves first checking records for a DNC and ensuring that we are legally able to clone the patient. In this case, McCoy did check the records, but he failed to realize White's death was currently under investigation as possibly being a suicide. As the physician attending to cloning, especially as the responder who found her dead, he was expected to check to ensure cloning her was legal. If White committed suicide, she was DNC, and McCoy committed malpractice. McCoy realized his mistake while cloning, and was the first to notify anyone over medical radio, commenting that she might be DNC. This leads me to believe he was capable of checking before initiating cloning. In post cloning procedures, the patient, White, became violent. I was attacked by her in OR 1, where she hit me with a surgical drill, cracking my ribs and damaging both my heart and lungs. Given that we did not have an active surgeon on staff, I was left wheelchair bound until I could transfer to the Odin. I believe this instability was caused by her being distraught at being brought back after her suicide. She was arrested by security and treated to the best of our ability. She has been transferred to a psychiatric ward. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: I reported this incident over command radio, but the Captain was underresponsive and Wolfe was busy handling White. Actions taken: By the time White was treated and processed, we were ending our shift. No actions were taken against McCoy. Additional Notes:
  14. Well, like I said. Given the situation, I felt it would be okay to apply. The ninja was standing amid multiple members of security who were on the ground, in the middle of the icu. I wasn’t aware they were talking to anyone or negotiating, I saw the HoS on the ground, in orange, stuttering right beside them (I posted a screenshot). We were pretty far into the round, a lot of people had been injured and killed. So I thought it was reasonable to defend my department and my patients who were dying at the ninjas feet. I have an HUD after all, I knew they were not doing well.
  15. If I were rich, I would happily agree to be everyone on the server's sugar daddy.
  16. Here are my logs from the incident. I walk in, I see multiple officers in the orange, the HoS is dying and stammering on the ground, in the middle of my ICU. I didn't see any discussion with the HoP. I'm not saying there wasn't any, just that I didn't know of it. Fernando just saw an intruder who had killed multiple heads of staff with injured and dying people around him in his department and the HoS calling for help, he assumed.
  17. The image goes still for awhile, then flickers. A new image comes up, the same woman but her face appears a little older. The nervousness is gone and she sits with easy confidence. Behind her, a bookshelf and a slightly messy office. She gives a thin smile. "Uriel Evans, is that you? It's been ages. Where have you been? Did you only just receive my call?"
  18. I was literally hulked days ago and left green. Also, I use the cloning machines to regrow organic limbs for people, matching their skin tone. It's made for great RP, I'd hate to lose it.
  19. And undoing genetic damage, like skin color changes, after radiation or anomalies? How else do you suggest those are handled?
  20. I dare say! We need that back immediately. I haven’t seen anyone abuse it since we got rid of the geneticist position. And it’s useful to have around. Like, really useful. It’s the only way we can undo some damage done by radiation storms.
  21. You can still build a genetics lab in science no problem, and protohumans can be purchased from cargo.
  22. That’s somewhat not how it should work. You should still have reported the offender for this infraction and listed down your witnesses on this incident report regardless of letting sleeping dogs lie unknowingly whether they’re vicious or not. By doing so, you are able to give more than enough information for us to piece together to why did this happen. You’ve chose to take this path and sleeping dogs woke up and have bitten you. On the round directly following the round of the incident i was contacted by the SRVODeath in PMs about an IR filed against me. I told him that i was looking to file an IR myself and whether counter IRs were allowed. He replied the counter IRs are not a thing and that i'll have to just mention witnesses in the interview and he'll go through them. I had an extra witness, i sent him the name of the witness in PM, i mentioned the witness in and interview. So i did everything i could do, asked if i could do more, was assured that it's not needed and rolled with it. If i was actually supposed to file a counter IR then it was a case of miscommunication. I can say this without violating witness’s integrity. There were indeed testimonies against you on this. People have seen this occurred. As I review your testimony once more regarding this situation, you are the only person to have ever mentioned a small fight involving casualties and so you alone decided to call the shots and moved the bodies into Medical Bay’s morgue. By doing so, you have given the bodies over to Medical Department in which they’re responsible for this. So let me clarify, the investigation voided the antag incident that was the entire reason for me being let into medbay and allocating bodies? And that's why trespassing is considered legit? Because medics calling security to medbay never happened? That’s not the issue. The issue is, you are a Crime Scene Investigator which means you are part of Security Department. According to testimonies, as a member of Security Department, you threatened an Emergency Technician Sherer. This is a reminder that you should not threatening crew members. Security Department is there to ensure the safety of crew members, not to attack your own crew members. Security positions are also expected to have high tolerance with rude crew members and hold it in. None of the threats (both from paramedic and myself) went over the line of regulation breach on "threat of death or serious injury". Considering recent circumstances (both armed raid which was apparently voided without droping an IR for some reason and me being locked down for a while and then paramedic appearing to see if being a dick can maybe solve the trespassing problem) the threats or any frustration really are ICly justified. I would consider keeping unphased if i was playing an IPC for example, but i'm playing a human that can become upset. And there were well over sufficient amount of severe reasons to be upset with medics going petty yet again. Some of them were left out so what exactly i'm expected to do in antag rounds? Acting like there wasn't ever an antag the moment it leaves my sight? There are testimonies against you saying this happened. Even in the court, testimonies ARE evidences. We do not investigate throughout OOC logs to discover whether you really did have that taser weapon as Eve said, the court do not have the capabilities to hold attack log whether person X hit person Y. Testimonies are used as supportive evidence. If person x says that person y threatened them with a taser then it's ground for reasonable suspicion. Then let's ask questions regarding the taser: does person x own a taser? Is there any pictures of them holding a taser? Where are prints of that person on the taser? In criminalistics every action leaves a reflection (that is the subject of study). If you shoot someone the reflections would be the bullet hole, the casing, the powder on your hands and on the gun, the damages done by the bullet etc. If something is true (which accusation of carrying a taser wasn't) there must be a reflection of it presented as tangible evidence to give the accusation any sort of weight. If you can't present it (which CCIA frequently can't) then it's just a suspicion and can't be used to dispense punishment. The haphazard rush for punishment with insufficient evidence is the problem here. Saying it's not because everything works fine is ridiculous because the very reason for this complaint being filed is me being accused of something i've never done twice in a span of a month. The solution i'm suggesting is either don't rush for decisions when all you have is a guy's testimony (which would considerably lower the CCIA punishments) or employ better means of obtaining tangible evidence (which would be somewhat difficult to set up unless you're using evidence gathered with the help of security/IAA on-shift). as with previous point. It doesn't matter how long do you spend on your investigation. If you don't have enough evidence, you don't have enough evidence. Using only radio logs and testimonies is not a reliable way to make a correct decision. Imagine piecing up a puzzle but 3/4 of the pieces are missing. You just can't reliably tell what on the puzzle most of the time. No matter how long do you look at it, you'll just think yourself into a corner and then slap your best guess. And piecing puzzles with only 1/4 of pieces would be completely fine by me, but the success or failure of this process can result in a player losing a character. Sorry, I know I probably shouldn't post but I wanted to come clarify something. The round you're talking about, we did call security to deal with the antagonists. And the antagonists were dealt with. We cleaned up. Everything was okay, incident over, security left. You were charged for trespassing about forty minutes later, when you came back and used our morgue without asking. That is why it was trespassing, and why the initial consent to be in the department no longer applied. It's not because what you were doing was linked to antagonists. It's because permission once does not mean permission always.
  23. I decided I needed a pet cat, so I asked my roommate who to ask. He said Head of Personnel or Quartermaster, so I ended up walking to the HoP's office and asking for "Head of Quartermaster?"
