  1. I think it is an interesting mechanic to encourage you getting your FATASS to the kitchen and getting a proper meal. What it COULD use though, is change heart damage for Toxin damage, or major speed and stamina debuff. -1 to REMOVE outright
  2. We already have "fax machines" to send forms and non-centcomm paperwork Just use a paper on a Requests Console (looks like a newscaster, but THICC) anyone can do it. it scans the paper and drops it at the other request console terminal
  3. -1 Tea is beneficial. If medical is using it for minor intoxication, it's fine. I doubt they use it for heavy toxin damage since tea is so weak and you would need to drink a LOT to fix severe cases. Which would be impractical. I also have never been treated for toxins using tea. It's up to medical to decide the treatment. If soemone thinks tea is the best way, it's their choice. Take it to CMO if you think treatment is unsuitable. I have never seen anyone complain about tea or how it "detracts from atmosphere". This has never been an issue.
  4. Considering it is human history lore, and we live in 2460, I see no issue talking about it... Might be pdd talking about things from so long ago, but then again, we still talk about greeks and romans in 2018... Unless this is some parallel universe in which no one ever made any cultural goods, I fail to see a problem
  5. if you're changing behavior based on game mode meta, you are the problem. You should treat every round like it was extended. Antag ruins your gimmick? Try again next round. And so on and so forth. Literally how the game is meant to be played, why is this even a discussion
  6. You shouldn't be "Expecting" anything, no matter what round it is you should act like it's extended during secret, unless you're an antag of course. If people vote secret they will expect antags no matter what you tell them. They voted secret because they want antags, so they'll expect there to be antags. You can expect a round to have antags without metagaming too. They might WANT something. They shouldn't EXPECT anything. You should play like it is another normal day until antags get confirmed. Changing behavior depending on game mode is hallmark of meta-gaming; How can you expect antags without metagaming, if antags are not IC knowledge for anyone????
  7. The point behind extended being in secret is exactly so people DON'T know to expect it, and therefore don't change their behaviour because of metagaming. This way to keep people act as they normally would as any normal secret. If the RP is worse during secret extended, it's more of a playerbase issue than the mode itself.
  8. "only respond to commands or queries if they say "please" "
  9. Exactly +1 from me. Also seems easy to implement.
  10. Add coat hangers to science So I can finally remove my labcoat before going out of the science department
  11. GIB CONVEYOR BELTS PLS
  12. why was sol clothing ever allowed literally an enemy of tau ceti as a whole who tried to invade it by force it's like wearing nazi regalia when you work at Ford Motor Co.
  13. it's not experimental, it works and has been used in treatment since 1990s. It can also be used as a direct substitute for blood, not only in the lungs. granted, pill form shouldn't work. Injected should, though. you cana ssume you inject it in the blood or lungs, both should work
  14. well ACKTCHUALLY you don't need to "breathe" air. What's important is getting oxygen into your blood. There are other means that don't include air. In my head canon, dexalin is perfluorocarbon. Technically you could inject your lungs with it and still breathe. in 2460, I think that's not a stretch, since we already have it NOW. More info on that, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_breathing
  15. fix the other engine types at least? afaik there are antimatter and RUST engines that can be ordered but no one ever does because they're borked? otherwise, I suggested an atmos update but it was deemed "wew lad too much"
  16. IPCs are robots. They can have -DAMAGE- sensors, but those would purely transfer information like "your arm is damaged" is some LANGUAGE, and thus the IPC would LOGICALLY step away from the harm to save the component it would NOT be like an organic response that depends on non-language means of information transfer (in this case, sensations), that is mostly automated and we have very limited control over (you can't force yourself into painlessness) I think it's a bad idea. there is no reason to give robots pain-like sensors unless you are trying to make artificial life like some Westworld type of thing.
  17. Wouldn't you need "brain scan" data to know whose consciousness is which in the database? A dead person has a dead brain, so I figure it wouldn't work to just drag the dead person and clone it. You could make the body, but consciousness wouldn't be there
  18. How does knowing you cannot be brought back to life not make you more cautious???? I've seen a lot of people, especially in science and mining, be super disregardful about their lives because of competent medical rescue staff. they literally think "oh if this goes bad I can always get cloned" Knowing you only have a single life would increase your cautiousness unless you are a retard. Taking 5 minutes from your time to guarantee that you can be brought back looks like a worthwhile investment. Also, medical would have something to do at round start besides waiting for chemistry to finish making meds. After death you can join as a new character, become a borg, a pAI, a drone, a mouse, sometimes ERT. so if you want to quit after dying, it's a player problem, not a character one.
  19. What it says on the title. Make it so people have to scan themselves first before being able to be cloned. This would make people either be more careful with their lives, or take the time to go through the scanning procedures. In any case, it makes cloning "harder" for people who don't act like their life is a priority. What's 5 minutes of your time vs dying for the rest of the round? If you truly care about it, you would obviously get a scan. or at the very least be more cautious.
  20. Mining isn't hard; It's just that average miners are retards that don't even know basics of EVA. I have a mining character and it's not that hard. Go out. Avoid holes. Mine. Buy KA and boots. Repeat. It doesn't take two brain cells to figure out that "OH, THERE IS A HOLE" and not press the button to that direction. I do feel like the asteroid should be a lot more "wild" as in not fully explored, with mobs (hostile, neutral, and docile) that you could fight for loot, or even supply to xenobio to make new things with it (so far no specific ideas, but I imagine maybe also throwing the mobs into the analyzer and getting new tech from it, like say carapace armor, biological capacitors, etc). Dungeon-caves would be nice, as maybe ruins, lost mini-spaceship wrecks, stuff like that. or make it so it gets more dangerous as you get further out from the station central. so then noobies could just stick near the station area while adventurers could go to the fringes.
  21. +1 i always wanted to click pens
  22. congrats eve please ERP with all the IR interviewees 0w0
  23. What is says on the tab there. Ever came across the puke-green colored hair, telescience and R&D trap called Natascha Sukhoi? Do tell if you had a good time, a bad time, or anything else you feel like saying. Honest criticisms (or compliments) encouraged!
  24. this was one great discussion of philosophy and metaethics nice to see you saved the transcript.
