  1. WE VORE NOW BOIS
  2. I'd love to see this question how to take them off though?
  3. Why would science make equipment that no one asked for and waste both time and materials with it? Takes 1 minutes to go up to R&D and ask for mesons and a drill and skip 15-20 minutes of pickaxe mining. I mean, it sells itself, R&D is not a mindreader for who wants or needs equipment.
  4. this I mean if you're gonna play a video game You sort of already /know/ what you're getting into Things move, light changes, sounds are made, this isn't SOLITAIRE. (and even solitaire can cause seizures when you finish it and the cards jump around the screen)
  5. I would love to play custom songs in the jukebox. If there was a way to stream music directly from a youtube link, that would be /perfect/. No hosting issues, no "copyright" issues. No upload mess. Just get near the juke, insert a valid link, and press play. Any "shitter" antics can be dealt in a OOC fashion with the smite of modmin gods, since it would be a OOC issue to play meme songs or whatever, not IC. I would absolutely LOVE to be able to listen to music while I work. ON A SIDE NOTE: A volume slider in the jukebox PLEASE!!!! So I can play songs without drowning out other sounds, adjusting it accordingly!
  6. my energetic +1111111111 i've talked about this casually since I first started playing here, after setting up my first character. It's far too easy to mary sue around. this is especially true for heads of staff like CMO, CE, RD, etcetera. but that's beyond the point I would absolutely implement both increased time, chance of failure, both balanced depending on what you are doing and what your level is. Quick example Someone untrained in anatomy shouldnt be able to do heart surgery regardless of how much time it takes, for instance. It would take a long time, 2 minutes, but also be 95% chance of failure. This would be a little sadistic, mostly to fuck with people who think they can mary sue regardless of their skill, instead of outright blocking them from doing an action. An amateur, however, still having the same time, could maybe get a 75% chance of error A trained, 25% chance of error and time lowered in half A professional, 95% (5% for error, those DO HAPPEN even with professionals) for a quarter of the time. This is assuming only 1 skill comes into play. It would get complicated if it was, say, virology, in which you need complex systems, science, biological knowledge, and chemistry. How to balance that? Hard, but doable. And I'd say the effort is worth it. Another idea I had would be an overhaul of existing categories. It would be separated in KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS. Skills would be rearranged into more "broad" things like strength, dexterity, etc Knowledge would be something separate with its own points system. Why: A heart surgeon and an engineer are people that would have extreme "dexterity" skill, but their fields of "knowledge" are different. A miner and a security officer both have "strength", but one has "knowledge" of combat while the other one knows how to better destroy rocks and walls and has argably better stamina since they're used to working in EVA with heavy tools, dragging rocks. both also have dexterity, but one for guns, the other for power tools. although there could be /some/ cross knowledge due to KA being similar in operation of a laser gun. but a sec officer wouldnt know how to operate a drill. It's all very intricate and complex, yes. but it would give skills a much bigger meaning and people would think before they jump. (At least I like to think so), but it could also solve some things, like a character learning how to do everything. Instead, a character may acquire knowledge of everything, but still be unskilled to do them. Knowledge would affect things like speed when using items, like medkits (or amount of damage healed), info from specialized tools (medical analyzers could provide different levels of info to different "knowledge" levels, multitools could not show wire colors but have them in the same order, etc), a damage modifier in case of combat, hit percentage when firing a gun, many possibilities. Sure this "knowledge" thing could be done IC. But when was the last time you saw someone who couldn't use a medical analyzer or trauma kit? only if they OOC don't know how. But this would be more restrictive and people might not like this. Borgs: Two ideas. Either they're maxxxxxxed on everything (since they're fukken borgs) OR Skills dependant on their module. Although I think their module tools already restrict what they can do anyways, so this would be pretty much moot. in any case, I'd love to help implementing this system if burger and ron decide to move on with it
  7. I'll only +1 if your IPC proceeds to drag it's ass across my desk and make as much noise as physically possible all jokes aside, your synth gameplay is excellent, and I've seen you grow from the pAI all the way to borg and CE, your RP is excellent and mechanical knowledge is good as well. Coffee? +1 from me
  8. the only reason any head should be working a normal crew job is if 1) you are understaffed and there is no one to do that job 2) a crisis situation 3) personal oversight of something very specific which requires special attention And even then, only if their skills are aligned. a HOP should rarely even touch mining. A HOS shouldn't even touch detective work unless he was originally a detective, and so on. Otherwise, heads of staff should delegate to the normal staff. it's simple.
  9. if the common is removed from headset? use department radio and hope your department mates are humane and try to help If common is not removed from headsets, it should be renamed Emergency and used only for such. In which case nothing would change.
  10. I think the call-function would be too much complication. but I do like the removal of common from headsets MY TWO CENTS: Remove common from Headsets and make COMMON be called EMERGENCY channel, for distress signals.
  11. copy the text into a hailer. easy peasy.
  12. exactly what it says on the title. I like having coat racks, just like the Detective's, in my lab as Natascha Sukhoi so I can hang labcoats, makes for a more immersive thing. You really shouldn't use labcoats outside of the lab anyways. But I can't craft them and always have to pester admemes with ahelps to bus one. so uh. make it craftable with metal pleasies?
  13. you were not given your gun by the grace of god to purify security from the taint of corruption. dont metagame antag sec without evidence. Noone ever said that and reread the article. The reason for not trusting security is all there. An official statement from NT chief released an official statement. Unless you want to say that we shouldn't trust high ranking NT officials i have no idea what you're going for and why so why is the detective not a suspect either? in that case should we disarm the entire ISD to minimize possibility of abuse?
  14. Why would you even need to think about protecting yourself from an officer?!?!?!?!!? what MENTAL GYMNASTICS is this!?! Imagine if all of Sec had a "protection against fellow officers" mentality Sec would be all in mechs or full riot gear you dont think about protecting yourself from an officer because you are both on the same side, and worrying about it is meta for sec antags.
  15. I'm not talking mechanics, I'm talking logic. it's extremely bad idea to use ballistic weapons in pressurized environments. A detective is not a counter-spy agent. He is an investigator. Again. Detective is NOT a combat role. Using a combat role / officer as a comparison for "job tool requirement" is bollocks. If he needs to defend himself, that's all it is, defense. Therefore, lethal weapons shouldn't even be considered, rather, a stun baton, flash, or pepper spray should. Or in this case, rubber bullets. If anything, lethal bullets are WORSE for a detective. Since antags know they are lethal, they won't think about non-lethal ways to take him down, since it would be a liability if they got injured. It would either kill or not kill, no in between.
  16. I mean if you guys /really/ want to go into "this makes logical sense" for giving a detective lethal ballistic rounds in a pressurized space station, first it doesn't make sense, and second of all, I doubt there would ever be an actual "detective" position within such a small population. If anything, detective is a purely investigative job that should be more like IAA than an Officer, except for things beyond standard protocol violations etc.
  17. I wouldn't usually open a complaint for simple lack of RP, but since this thread is open, I'd like to chip my 2c I was in a round with him as a research borg DARK once, there was barely any RP, he kept acting pretty humanlike and conducting research into unknown chemicals on it's own in an extremely obnoxious way, without much communication on what it was doing, growing plants in xenoflora and slimes in xenobio without even informing anyone, tried to grind telescience's bluespace crystals at around round start, which would effectively disable telescience until late round, IF mining got minerals, left dangerous chems like mutation toxin around the labs without caps on, all this with the most simplistic communication possible, such as "Look! I did a Science thing!", then dragging a beaker behind it containing pretty much every chem in the machine, beeping excessively, up to a point that the interim RD had the borg's voice synthesizer removed by the robotics team. Don't get me wrong, not trying to be a dick or anything, but while I'm sure he knows how to play regarding mechanics and knowledge in general, the RP is severely lacking. If the cyborg sprite was hidden, you could probably mentalize it was just a baldie with insulated gloves and a toolbox.
  18. At this rate, let's just remove all random events for optimal gameplay /s I fail to see a reason why to remove it, and in my view, really spices things up in any round. Gives viro something to do, and medical needs to be on ttheir toes. It also makes crew weary of getting near each other, making their own quarantine procedures and RP situations. blobs, carp, strange plants, and meteors are much much MUCH worse -1 from me
  19. you can make ion pistols in R&D. Just hand science some minerals and firing pins. (tbh remove firing pins)
  20. Reporting Personnel: Natascha Sukhoi Rank of Reporting Personnel: Scientist Game ID: bTY-aWP1 Personnel Involved: - Osmund Mccune, Officer - Offender - Jaylee Zaun, Quartermaster - Witness - Zion Carr, Engineer - Witness Time of Incident: Around shuttle departure time, circa 7 am station-time Real time: 20/04/2018, around 08:50 am GMT Location of Incident: Emergency Shuttle Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty [x]Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct [x]Other: i119 - Illegal search Overview of the Incident: Upon arriving at the the emergency shuttle due to a spider infestation, the officer in question asked me where my ID was. I pointed to my pocket. He then asked me to wear it, which I did not. He then proceeded to attempt to handcuff me, and when I moved to another seat, flashed me twice into submission and handcuffed me, and after that, started emptying my pockets. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: No Actions taken: Due to lack of command staff and general time constraints, I was unable to contact any authorities. Additional Notes: This was all during code green, without a warrant.
  21. Put this in another perspective imagine you like to play any mode EXCEPT crossfire you want to play a round So you ready up Then crossfire gets voted You don't want to play it So you unready. Imagine being forced to play a roundtype you don't like? Sure it can be annoying, but if there are more people that DON'T want to play it, I see it as fair. there must be consensus between the players, you cannot force someone else to play if they don't want to. NINJA EDIT: What the people above me said. If you VOTE for crossfire and THEN unready, you should be punished. If you DIDN'T vote for it, you're in the clear.
  22. Wouldn't that then just be a... bionic/mechanical eye though?
  23. Kyres has vreat characters and great role playing skills in general. I see some flaws here and there but nothing that would hinder him from being a functional head, +1 from me
  24. Question If the eye with the patch is damaged, how would said eye see the hud? Doesn’t make sense.
  25. the wizard mode is almost as old as ss13 itself. Changing the clothes of the antag does not affect its nature in the slightest I very much hope that we don't patch the holes in our lore with the lore of servers we branch our code from. If it's really so than we shouldn't, the concept of it is plain bad. The suggestion is not to remove the wizard's clothes but to let it change. If it's a wizard why wouldn't he be able to change the looks of his clothes. That's doesn't mean they should wear goofy clothes all the time There is no lore on wizards. Noone knows they exist, noone ever met them, noone is familiar with their powers or how they get them, their lore doesn't get updated. Literally all we know about wizards is that it's a guy that can do stuff. Their quote on quote "lore" is non-existant and almost every single thing in it is explained by "well, he's a wizard so it's magic". I understand the sentiment over the throwing out the wizard's garb as it's iconic to the ss13 culture. But so was the clown. If you want to move forward and allow for better stories and interactions, giving wizards more flexibility in their gimmicks is the way to go Im not against flexibility and such, i’m against changing key things that make a wizard a wizard and calling it a wizard model. Tbh wizwoz is one of the worst antag modes because of the sheer amount of peaceantaging and only a single slot or two in a round. Eventually it just becomes extended, which I like, but i’m talking antaggery. But I digress. My point is, if you’re gonna change things, then make it an entirely new mode, don’t alter key identifiers and call it wizard. As to “patching lore holes with lore from our code branch”: Nanotrasen, races, jobs, aren’t they all derivative of the previous code? We ALREADY DO THAT. Otherwise we wouldn’t have mostly similar lore, modes, jobs, etc. sure, we have our own spin and changes, but it is still a derivative, in which lore that is unaltered is the same as the previous code. And if wizard didnt have lore as you said, then why would we call it wizard and identify the clothes and apparel from the lore of medieval magical folklore and fairy tales? Wizard HAS a lore that everyone can pretty much understand the general idea. It just isn’t written.
