The Nanotrasen Heist was an Inside Job (or a desire for Heist + Traitor)
LanceLynxx replied to SeniorScore's topic in Archive
I still regard AOOC as a mistake, it only leads to shitty, stale gimmicks instead of people actually doing anything. Gimmicks are shit, and the whole point of the suggestion as a sleeper agent gamemode, which would actually be great. It's a shame so many good possibilities for mixed gamemodes go to waste due to nobody accepting that they should generally go along with the theme of the antag, but I digress. adding another shit blender of two separate game-modes would be easy enough to do in five minutes. though I'm still of the opinion that separate mixed game-modes should be fine tuned to farther support the theme they should be giving off instead of "xd throw 2 different gamemodes together at once" I would +1 for a specific mode of sleeper agent, AND also a mixed heist+tator. I think there are merits for both the tator and the heisters working as one, as well as two antags being independent and MAYBE chosing to work together, but for their own self interests. -

While all of these things are true, they're unavoidable and very common. And the cryo thing goes two ways, people joining late not being able to do anything about it. There's only so many crowbars and ways to get them and space in your backpack, and while you probably should have a crowbar at all times just in case, it's used for nothing else than opening doors (or protection) for people that work jobs like medical, civilian, some of research, and security (who start with crowbars for this exact reason, but that's besides the point). People shouldn't rely on medical to fix them when they're hurt is a bit of a dumb statement, no offense meant. It's a whole department literally devoted to fixing you when you're hurt, because people get hurt, especially when the power is out. It's not always because someone's dumb either, rather someone else is dumb and you have to get medical attention because of it. The assistant access thing was a joke, but anyone having access everywhere means baldie assistants are going to be the ones abusing that, or antags alike, in which you can't do much to stop them because muh power I would suggest for a emergency wall cabinet to be placed into the cryo room. That way, you can get a crowbar and internals before you step into the fuckery. Easy fix to that problem. You SHOULDN'T have crowbar "just in case" if you had no reason to actually use one earlier in the round. Sec gets it because it is their job to respond to emergencies. Unless you need it for a job (engie, sec, robotics), you really shouldnt have tools "just in case" Yes, medical is there to fix you because of ACCIDENTS. Powernet failure, if anything, makes it HARDER to make stupid decisions since many things are not working. If you gamble on something with a high risk when you know power is out, it's your problem you couldn't sit still. If someone ELSE did something stupid that hurt you, well, that's not a powernet issue in the first place. Also part of the game. Regarding trespassing, you can tell people to get out, force them out, etc. From there on, it's RP dependant and off-topic for this thread -
I'd like to BAMP this suggestion that seems to have been glanced over You shouldnt be able to read tiny print in a ID from across the room, just like you can read a book or read a paper only if you're right next to it. Mouse hover should just be "ID", distant examine should only tell you the color of it "He/She is wearing a white/blue/gold/etc ID" if it is worn, or "An ID. It is (color)" if on the ground. Close examine would give the normal description that we have now, with name and occupation. Like "John Doe's ID - Assistant" I would argue for close examine distance to be 2 tiles at maximum. This would give Checkpoint a reason to exist. Also make everyone check for proper clearance of strange people, give Sec something to look out for. It would also make infiltration and espionage much more interesting, as a proper disguise would not be fucked over by Ulrist McMetagamer reading your ID from the other side of the hall with his bionic eyes. This is a small change with big implications, that I personally think contribute to the gameplay AND RP EDIT: Another idea that I would like to tie into this suggestion: Remove owner's name from PDA mouse hover and examining. You can't tell whose it is unless you use the item and check the linked ID. It is another item that you shouldnt be able to see specifics unless you even use it. Just change the mousehover and examine to just the standard flavor text of an unlinked PDA But I'll probably make it a separate suggestion.

spess suit sets are hard to obtain unless you have clearance from heads or whatnot. And even then, walking around with a suit helmet 4noraisin without the rest of the suit would be ICLY strange, OOCLY powergaming. Unless it's an emergency tying into this suggestion, I would argue for the suit helmet to NOT work as internals without a suit on at the same time. I never understood how it worked as internals if it isnt airtight anyways. but I should submit this as a new suggestion.

[2 Dismissal: Archived]Remove powernet failure event

-1 borgs and engies should know their jobs. Fixing a power net is as simple as going to the nearest APC and rebooting it. Swipe ID to unlock, press reboot, power restored. Literally their jobs. round stop: If it takes 30 minutes to restore power to crucial areas, Engineers are being complete shit and not doing their jobs. getting stuck: there is no reason to have a crowbar "just in case" anyways. literally situational. access: everyone gets access anywhere, not just assistants. It's up to you to secure your department entrances. People dying: people shouldnt rely on others to save them from bad risk management anyways. That's like thinking "oh, i'll try this bad idea, surely medical will save me. I got max sensors! lolz". Not hard to not die in a power outage (unless an antag appears. and even then, that's part of the game) cryo: if people in limited slots want to SSD because of a power failure, they're being bad players and should be reported, unless they ahelp and ask permission to do so -
I'd like to bump this for consideration. easy to implement. It would be a) more realistic due to the mask design itself and b) a bit of a balance for having the gas mask on unnecessarily.

The Nanotrasen Heist was an Inside Job (or a desire for Heist + Traitor)
LanceLynxx replied to SeniorScore's topic in Archive
It should be encouraged, because otherwise it'll just be "unga Bunga traitor and heisters with no collaboration" Instead of a sleeper agent assisting in a heist with the limited tools at their disposal. .. isn't that kind of the reason AOOC exists though? At least at round start, to choose a gimmick that everyone agrees on? Unless you call this heist+tator something else and make it completely different mode from just putting tators + heist as a mixed mode. mixed = 2 different antags in a round what you want = entirely different antag mode in which heisters and tators work together as a single antag entity tators and heisters might not have the same objective in a mixed mode and just help each other, whereas as a single antag entity, they would have a common goal. EDIT: What I mean is, if it is supposed to be a mixed secret mode, the "sleeper agent" thing would be a GIMMICK planned by both antags. -
I'd also add that Lazarus Injector could be a researchable item by R&D. It would have multiple uses, but need recharging after each use, or need cartridges for each injection that you would also print from R&D. Furthermore, have SOME mob crates be orderable from Cargo as another way, instead of just gold slimes, just like you can order cows, cats, monkey cubes, etc. But keep some rare/special ones obtainable only by gold slimes (ideally mobs would be on the asteroid just like cave dwellers, you could go out there to try to catch them like spess pokemon, but I think Arrow said the guy that was developing mining 2.0 abandoned the dev team or something)

+1 for the crawling, would make sense that you can't stand, but you don't become magically paralyzed (unless you broke your arms too, then I guess you are condemned to squirm ) -1 to be able to use items while crawling though. Maybe if you are lying down you can hold items, but you drop them if you try to move. maybe have it like a part of the rest verb? if you try to move while resting, that could be crawling, too. would allow you to go under the plastic binds in some places like robuttics and engie. EDIT: Further fleshing out crawling (aka rest+move), you could make it so you can hide under tables and fit inside crates.

there is a bathroom right beside the consultation wing entrance from the surgery wing, with a mirror inside.

I think jackboot has a point, you already have logs in the chat, and going through a lot of them to remember something is akin to mental confusion from sensory overload, I think it's fine as it is

+1 have the tape come off after a x number of steps, and take time to apply (4 seconds?), if suit is taped, activate suit in hand with help intent to remove them.

The Nanotrasen Heist was an Inside Job (or a desire for Heist + Traitor)
LanceLynxx replied to SeniorScore's topic in Archive
I'd say, maybe give the heisters a report from syndicentral, saying "There may be a infiltrated agent inside the x department", something along those lines, but dont let the tator tot know about the heisters. Give both heisters and tators secret words so they can identify themselves if they need to, but dont give them syndi headset keys unless they buy it with TC,, as it would just be joining heisters+tators as a single entity, when they should be technically separate antags. -
why would you remove a feature if it causes no issues whatsoever? Just rename/add a description so miners don't buy it on accident, maybe lower the cost, or keep the cost but give it multiple charges by buying cartridges (just like the automatic railway fabricator), and R&D fabricate the cartridges as a backup (since it would be useful for xenobio as well). Maybe give it a researchable level of biological.

I like this idea. Makes sense, nobody puts or removes backpacks, bags, etcetera, instantaneously. Usually takes at least half a second. As tasers and stuff, they wouldnt be in the back slot, they are usually either on the belt or inside the bag.

[2 dismissals; Bin 2.12]Add Flashlights and Radios to the SecTec Dispenser
LanceLynxx replied to Fortport's topic in Archive
I would actually support this if you remove the maglight damage buff and just keep the lighting buff. You shouldn't rely on using a night-vision enhancement tool as a weapon anyways IMO. Their purpose isn't even to modify a force applied to them in manual tools like crowbars or wrenches and such. They should have no way to deal more damage since they're literally a advanced tech flashlight, thus made to be brighter and also lighter (less mass, less brute damage as a blunt weapon) -
I KNEW YOU'D LIKE THIS HAH. Like I said, I'll start with it empty, maybe have a few papers inside, I'll copypaste some sekrit dokumints im making

BYOND Key: LanceLynxx Character name: Natascha Sukhoi Item name: Inventor's Notebook or just plain Research Notebook, if first option is unfitting Why is your character carrying said item to work?: Natascha's been in science for a while now, and has made some interesting discoveries over time. Basically, all the scientific research that he has made, from scribbles to full research paper drafts, circuit printer designs, experiment notes, etcetera. He uses it to take notes or to have a quick-reference for himself or others. Pretty much a essential item for a curious researcher/inventor not to get lost in his head, or share information. Both a personal item, but also for use on the job. Item function(s): Works like a folder; Add and remove paper, basically. Bonus points if it is possible to tuck it under the arm like a clipboard for extra style, but that is a luxury, really. I would add content every round using any normal paper bin and copypasting saved stuff from elsewhere. Item description: A dark-green notebook, with crumpled Post-Its sticking out and binding tearing at the edges. It reeks of DromedaryCo cigarettes. The words "SUKH SYSTEMS" are scribbled on the cover with a black sharpie. Very scientific. Item appearance: Before doing this app, I went through ALL the past item apps for ideas and general knowledge of what is accepted and what isn't, and found one that was exactly what I was thinking of, which is in this other thread: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=99&t=3970&p=39469&hilit= So, I don't know what is the policy on it, but that item app was made in 2015 and I've never seen that character in science, so, basically I just need that sprite from the other thread reskinned in dark green instead of blue. Sprite to reskin in green: http://www.mediafire.com/view/9uazgj2jn7uledo/halo_notebook.dmi Thanks to @UnknownMurder I now have the SUKH BIBLE. He was kind enough to sprite it. Sprite here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_sOb_F3VYXa_a8sf_-xxBYunBG10DaPi/view?usp=sharing How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? Not only it is a good conversation piece, but it also serves a function. Could be used as a reference sheet for many things like circuits, in a IC setting, which I find much more fun to learn and teach than going in LOOC and such. Furthermore, the contents will only increase with time, as Natascha keeps discovering new things. Also, it could be something of value for sneaky scientists trying to rip off his ideas or obtain information. Or even a syndie contract...... Additional comments: Can't beat a good SUKHâ„¢

I could read a whole book like this. Please tell us more misadventures of ARCH. Traptain, 10/10

Oh yay Natascha Sukhoi is now jobless So what will happen next time someone finds an alien artifact that causes random mutations and Tajarans want to become pink-colored though
