1. Just saying, I really liked this idea when it was presented and even hours later it's still good. The only "downside" I see is no more using the library as a place for cult to meet up since it's exposed rather directly to the hallway. Which just means they'll have to get more creative.
2. Preston's just one of those guys everyone stumbles into at some point. He's gregarious and good at making friends with literally everyone. You actually can't hate him. I refuse to think it's possible.
3. I've not seen Polaris ling (I've only played this server. I know what I like and, surprisingly, I like you guys) but that sounds like a pretty interesting change. Really, I'd be up for any option that makes ling less cut and dry. Give it depth!
4. Very straight forward. You should be able to. People tuck rags in their back pockets or whatever. It would look something like the following real life examples: For some reason I couldn't find one where people actually tuck it in the belt loop, but it's also a possibility.
5. You make a compelling argument. Get 'em gone.
6. I rarely make it to red hunger level, since I seek out sustenance whenever I'm at yellow and there's a break in my current task or RP. Sometimes, there isn't a break in those two hours and I'm always doing something. And I still don't make it to red, most of the time. So you're 100% correct there. The problem I see with giving good food too good of buffs (dodge chance in combat, speedboost) is that people will say "We're going to go do this really important thing. Let's eat first" or even while a fight is about to break out. And while yes, it is powergaming, you have to take it on the flipside too. The station will have access to this stuff. Outside antags will not, which will put them at a disadvantage. By all means, make hunger more impactful. But I'm hesitant on the food buffs until I see what's exactly going into them.
7. Okay phew it's not actually three seconds. This makes sense, I suppose, from a logical standpoint. Are cupcakes more likely to burn than a whole cake? I believe so. You just have to be more careful with what you multitask and spacing apart what you put in the oven at what times so make sure it's not all done at once. Sounds like the chef's job, tbh.
8. It's 3 seconds? Holy crap. Raise that, please. 20 may be too much, but 3 seconds? Make it at least 10.
9. I agree a carrot shouldn't be in a burrito, but no reason the cabbage can't stay. Either way, Burritos take too much to make, would agree to a buff +1
10. I am very calmly upset. I start classes again on Monday. So much time wasted. (I was also looking forward to today's play because I had just started teaching myself circuits)
11. In light of Satin's post, student doctor would be a fantastic addition for medical. Someone that follows around a fully-fledged doctor to really learn from. Gee, sounds an awful lot like security, engineering, and science! Tell me who I have to lobby to, I want to help make this happen.
12. No, I'm sorry. I often use up a lot of my chat bar and on the occasions where it starts to scroll, it is the most annoying thing in the universe because Byond is poopoo at letting me adjust what I've typed accurately. That's a -1 for me. +1 if I can keep it the way it is and have this as an option for others who want it this way. So, the same as everyone else!
13. I understand. But it also leads to cases where you say "I'm here a surgical resident" but get brushed off because "Medical residents don't do surgery." It is more an exception than the rule, however, and I've not experienced it personally. I do definitely think something slightly below "resident" is needed. If it's "orderly" that's fine, but keep in mind an orderly is not the same thing as an intern and you cannot go from orderly to doctor with some experience. Orderlies do not need an M.D.
14. There should also be one called "Surgical Intern" or something similar, which sways you more toward the surgery side of things instead of the medicine side of things.
15. Whenever you spawn on the ODIN, you get equipped with a grey hoodie. I'm wearing a high-style suit, why the hell do I want a crappy hoodie. If it gets rid of that, +1 from me as well.

Allergies

I have a character with allergies. It's not as bad as it sounds, not having it be a mechanical feature. It's a bit more work, but people are often willing to indulge. I think it would be amazing to have epipens and actual mechanical side effects be a thing.
17. This is a very important statement I agree with. Restrictions create tension, creates a desire for change. The only real restrictions we have are on Heads of Staff and even then, only some races, sometimes. The biggest example we have for restrictions are Vaurca, actually. But the problem is it's a very real, OOC hate for the race in that instance which makes everyone very not okay with bug people. If Tajarans had the same restrictions for the same lore reasons, people would be outraged. But it's the lore that should speak for restrictions, not anything OOC. But why shouldn't there be a few more restrictions? It brings a bit more to the table as far as fleshing out characters. I'm sure we can come up with some sort of idea for IPCs. Certain models excel at certain jobs, so it would make sense that having only a certain model be able to do certain jobs based on their hardware and what not would make sense.

Character aging?

Usually you just do a RetCon™. You just come to work older than everyone thought you were and pretend it was always that way.
19. This isn't true, given our lovely medical reform right over here. It states that surgeons can perform surgeries medical doctors are unable to. And on top of that, medical doctors CAN perform SOME surgeries, but Surgeons get called first. They aren't the same thing. They are specialized. Mainly, still a bit wonky to think of the janitors we've known and made characters for being bumped up. Like if you have a doctor who suddenly became a surgeon in one day due to "situation" but still wants to retain their medical doctor status because that's where the character's knowledge is. That's what I'm saying.
20. This. You can also put the empty bottles back INTO those dispensers and get more.
21. Jackboot kind of took the words out of my mouth and made poetry with them. You can't make everyone happy with how you roleplay something. So where is the line drawn? Do we go with your interpretation to make you happy? Do we slide a little further left or further right? How far to do we slide? There's no etching in the stone here on this; it's all a biiiiig gradient. We can see to the extremes we've deemed "Out of character" but what about moderates? Moderates make up... most of the world, actually. And they'll probably make up most of the server as well. So what is it specifically you're questioning? The idea that all people must play their specific job and race a specific way? Or more on the powergaming side of things? Mary and Gary Sues? Or all of the above?
22. I agree that this is a conversation that should still be had. While all of the neat new stuff is pretty awesome, I personally don't have my janitor being the sort that uses it. They do it old school. It feels a bit like a power creep situation we're in. The new janitor style is a billion times more efficient, but it takes away from what we've had "janitor" be in the past. So. Custodial Engineers. Janitors. Superpower cleaner men for specific circumstances. The guy that mops the bathroom and keeps the bar from being full of cigarette butts. The same reason we have Surgeons and Medical Doctors. They CAN overlap, but each has priority under certain circumstances.
23. Menown's idea would even appease those such as Azande, who want some kind of upward mobility for a job meant to not really have upward mobility. But gaining a further permissions at the workplace, applying for this mild promotion, and becoming this new "Engineer Custodian" from a mere janitor would be possible.
24. I agree that virology is the least-utilized. Some sort of reform of the way it works is about the only thing I can think of to really fix that problem, though. One thing I will note is the difficulties in being an Emergency Physician. It feels like EPs and Paramedics step on each others' toes. Further clarification on where one job ends and the other begins would help those of us all two of us that play EP fit in better with the rest of the crew. Surgeons do surgery. Chemists mix the things. Emergency Physicians--oh. Well. The paramedic already DID that, so...
