  1. I was sec during that round, and when I tried to speak to the borgie the detective instantly flashed it and shot it to death. I agree that it wasn't the good mindset. But my character was ICly too lazy to deal with that after a 3 hours shift chasing after terrorist. But yes, most of the time I play malf borg or even traitor, I get shot down pretty easily. Even if I don't harm people and just act out of the line, sometimes I would get instantly EMP'd without any ways to return, since I'm either left in a corner or even dropped in disposal. People tends to forget that borgs are players as well.
  2. For someone who have been in a wheelchair and even a roller bed, I can agree that being pushed by someone is almost the same speed for both. Not that I've been pushed at a high speed, though. But when you "roll yourself" you should keep a slow speed as its very tiring to do that, yep.
  3. I just wanted to inform you that it existed and give you a temp solution. Didn't know you were lazy though.
  4. Ever wonder why we're here?

  5. BYOND Key: TheGoret Character Names: The ones that I play the most are in red, the newly created in green: See here Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I did, and I tried to keep inside my little brain the maximum I can. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I think it has come for me to apply for a species whitelist. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I guess I've went in every possibilities by being as a human boy(or girl). So that's why I want to expand my roleplay and try out another species to discover new ways, and even mechanics. I've been playing Omega for quite a while, and I like synthetics in general. So that's why my first option for a whitelist is the IPC one. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Organics fear. Fear of being hurt, physically or mentally, and I think that is something to explore through a machine's "mind". They can emulate emotions, but not perfectly. That is something interesting for me to see how a machine could react in a situation where a human should scream and run away. That doesn't make it eligible to rush in and get destroyed. Also, lets keep in mind that they're as fragile as anyone else, since an EMP and everything could be over in one instant. Character Name: Halfway Please provide a short backstory for this character: Halfway is a Zeng-Hu model which was found drifting in space during a training exercise made by a Response Team. Upon reactivation, it was completely lacking of trust to anyone near it. After an examination of its last memories, it was found out that it was forcefully ejected off a civilian ship where it was stationed five years before. The reasons remain unknown and Halfway never stated why. Scientists were unable to know when it was activated for the first time because of a memory failure due to its drifting in space, but estimated it after 2447 due to its chassis and the information it could give. They also learnt that Halfway developed a fear of space, being "scared" of being stranded into the emptiness of space. It was estimated that this fear was more of a self-preservation feeling more than anything else and NanoTrasen didn't bothered to pay attention to that. A few weeks later after its discovery, repairs were made to make it usable, and it began to trust the people around. Once asked what was their qualifications, Halfway stated that they were first programmed for security operations, and was handling the security matters aboard the ship. It was decided to make it integrate the Civil Protection aboard the NTCC Odin, but was transferred in the Internal Security Department aboard the NSS Aurora one month after, as a hope to make it get used to crowded places. What do you like about this character? Halfway has trouble trusting people he it know, and I think it's something to explore in the game. I also chose not to really say anything about what happened before its "drift", to allow people to think "but what happened?" or to discover it through interactions in the game. I also find it interesting that Halfway is somehow scared of space, since he spent about 5 years in it.. While working later on a space station. It might offer some possibility of roleplay on that side. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'm honestly not a good judge on that, but I have been roleplaying for years and I think I'm pretty good at it. I've been playing on this server for almost two years and never really had problems about that, expect in the beginning as everyone. Notes: It was an application that I found out on my PC around one year ago, that I found by mistake. I decided to correct what I could possibly can and expend the background that is pretty old now. I'm not a really good English writer so I tried my best on the background part and see what could comes out of it. Its mostly a test after all. Fucking non-native, am I right?
  6. Or use the stop-all-sounds verb. It will stop the constant ambient.
  7. I agree on that. I always see people throwing around glass bottles and that'd be funny when they will notice that glass break.
  8. I totally understand your apprehensions on the subject, and I think it is indeed necessary to agree on that subject. For my part, I will always make sure to find an arrangement IF we ever come to an inconvenience. I can't speak for Schev, but that's what I think and I will let Kyres have the last word, even if it doesn't suit me. He is Synth Dev after all and the last word should belong to him.
  9. To be honest, I'm not even sure that a disagreement would even come up. I'm always open for new ideas, and I know Kyres well enough to trust them on things like that.
  10. If you mean OOCly, only Schev and I are controlling Bubble, and its only on the relay.
  11. I've checked on the code side. There's 3 files to change if we don't count the map changes(which are just to rename two things): Risky crewmembers: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/blob/33fb783d6b3b4190d3664e2125605666496a93a6/code/game/gamemodes/game_mode.dm ERT shuttle: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/blob/33fb783d6b3b4190d3664e2125605666496a93a6/code/game/machinery/computer/specops_shuttle.dm ERT shuttle again: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/blob/33fb783d6b3b4190d3664e2125605666496a93a6/code/modules/shuttles/shuttle_specops.dm
  12. They arrested the "surgeon" because they were an intern. They bashed you several times with their surgery tools, and didn't even put anesthetics on. I spoke to them about that and the issue has been resolved. They shouldn't have attempted a surgery on you. I kinda understand the harsh security behavior with you since everytime they interacted with you, you were rude or did something bad ICly. You have a really long history about arguing over LOOC and screaming "shitsec" all around. Do not think that because you're ahelping, you're immune to any sort of punishment. You were banned for powergaming as an escalation of your previous warnings. You have been told on your unban request that the next problem will be a direct escalation to a permanent ban. This is all I have to say from my point of view.
  13. Hello. I'm going to give my thought on this situation. I wouldn't have any problems with you during that round if you hadn't started to have a bad comportement about what you recieved in game. Right, you made a grenade full of potassium and water and it exploded at your face. This is really borderline, but still, I passed on that as another admin had took this matter in his hands. When you started to complain about to scream shitsec in LOOC, is the moment it took me off. I told EVERYONE on the scene to cease arguing over LOOC, and everybody dropped the subject... Expect you, that ahelp'd right after. What happened to you was purely fair from a roleplay point of view, you made a grenade in a job you weren't supposed to, and exploded with it. This is completly fair for security to arrest you for your actions. Keep in mind that it is also an escalation of your previous notes, warnings, and ban, and that a large warning has been set that the next offense would be a perma ban. Also, do not think that banning someone is something fun for me. But when the rules are being broken so much time in a lapse of not even 2 weeks, you must understand that something need to be done. PS: Sorry for the format, I wrote quickly on my phone.

Well, 8pm... but for a mother, that's basically midnight

  15. I haven't saw this from this side. You mark a good point here. I totally forgot that science borgs had an unlocker. I admit that it can be used as a way to break the rules. Alright, I think you convinced me. Fast but you exposed the good arguments against it. It was more of a way to go faster in some kind of situations, but I didn't considered the McCook side at all. At least I know how to PR without fucking up now.
  16. As per requested in the PR available here: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/6375, I've made a thread. Been playing borgie for a while, and always felt like this option was missing. Already have been in situations where I couldn't open my cover when it was needed. So, here it is. I know that some people got in the same situation before. PS: Also was an attempt to test the PR system, but shhh.
  17. I wasn't here but good night.

  20. Basic Information Byond Account: TheGoret Character Name(s): I'm playing Katheryn Linerbord, Omega, and my most infamous ones are Ashley Dublins and Sarah Desnoyers AI Name(s): Guardian Discord username + tag: Goret#1468 Age: 17 Timezone: GMT+2 When are you on Aurora?: I've been inactive on Aurora since December because of medical reasons and studies, but I've been hell of active these past weeks. I'm now present everyday, even if I don't play. Experience How long have you played SS13?: I've been playing SS13 for around 4 years, now. How long have you played on Aurora: I've started playing on Aurora around October of 2017. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: I moderated Aurora. from August of 2018 to December where I resigned for lack of time. Does that count? Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: I think I do. Wouldn't have been accepted in the staff the first time if I didn't matched them. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Nope, never. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I'm going to say pretty much the same thing I said during my first application: Roleplay. I've been roleplaying since my younger age, firstly on Gmod via HL2:RP and Clockwork. And of course, for a 2D game, it really does have a charm. Why do you play on Aurora?: One of the main points of this server is the community. I've met lovely persons, still meet some new good people, and thats makes me stick around. What do moderators do?: Moderators are here to enforce the rules and resolve the potential conflicts between the players. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I'm ready to invest myself harder in the community again. A few more hands to help in dead hour isn't going to hurt anyone. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I am pretty cool with people, also patient. I can also listen to what the others have to say. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I'm the chill person who will never takes an insult badly, just processing it and passing to something else rapidly. As for anger, I keep it deep inside me. Nobody needs to feels it. Anything Else You Want to Add: Love you all.
  21. I"ll accept the security uniform only if you can pull up your sleeves. Otherwise, they all looks really good.
  22. Now I'm thinking of this old torture method where you'd be on a spike but still alive.
  23. To prevent the instant death like monkeys, we could make it only usable if the body is dead for example. I'm in favor of this, could be fun.
  24. You're really good at this. We need to make something out of these things.
