Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.
Why do you wish to play this specific race:
I think it has come for me to apply for a species whitelist. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I guess I've went in every possibilities by being as a human boy(or girl). So that's why I want to expand my roleplay and try out another species to discover new ways, and even mechanics. I've been playing Omega for quite a while, and I like synthetics in general. So that's why my first option for a whitelist is the IPC one.
Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:
Organics fear. Fear of being hurt, physically or mentally, and I think that is something to explore through a machine's "mind". They can emulate emotions, but not perfectly. That is something interesting for me to see how a machine could react in a situation where a human should scream and run away. That doesn't make it eligible to rush in and get destroyed. Also, lets keep in mind that they're as fragile as anyone else, since an EMP and everything could be over in one instant. Character Name: Halfway Please provide a short backstory for this character:
Halfway is a Zeng-Hu model which was found drifting in space during a training exercise made by a Response Team. Upon reactivation, it was completely lacking of trust to anyone near it. After an examination of its last memories, it was found out that it was forcefully ejected off a civilian ship where it was stationed five years before. The reasons remain unknown and Halfway never stated why. Scientists were unable to know when it was activated for the first time because of a memory failure due to its drifting in space, but estimated it after 2447 due to its chassis and the information it could give. They also learnt that Halfway developed a fear of space, being "scared" of being stranded into the emptiness of space. It was estimated that this fear was more of a self-preservation feeling more than anything else and NanoTrasen didn't bothered to pay attention to that. A few weeks later after its discovery, repairs were made to make it usable, and it began to trust the people around. Once asked what was their qualifications, Halfway stated that they were first programmed for security operations, and was handling the security matters aboard the ship. It was decided to make it integrate the Civil Protection aboard the NTCC Odin, but was transferred in the Internal Security Department aboard the NSS Aurora one month after, as a hope to make it get used to crowded places. What do you like about this character? Halfway has trouble trusting people he it know, and I think it's something to explore in the game. I also chose not to really say anything about what happened before its "drift", to allow people to think "but what happened?" or to discover it through interactions in the game. I also find it interesting that Halfway is somehow scared of space, since he spent about 5 years in it.. While working later on a space station. It might offer some possibility of roleplay on that side. How would you rate your role-playing ability?
I'm honestly not a good judge on that, but I have been roleplaying for years and I think I'm pretty good at it. I've been playing on this server for almost two years and never really had problems about that, expect in the beginning as everyone.
Notes: It was an application that I found out on my PC around one year ago, that I found by mistake. I decided to correct what I could possibly can and expend the background that is pretty old now. I'm not a really good English writer so I tried my best on the background part and see what could comes out of it. Its mostly a test after all. Fucking non-native, am I right?
