Hello again mister Gonzales, Now that I am officialy retired as an agent and a member of CC in general I take it upon myself to throw in my two pence - and even more scadelous... My opinion. As stated above I initially worked on this report before it being handed over to the newer generation. In addition to this, I have infact worked on many incident reports aimed at the good doctor with almost all of them resulting in me slapping them on the wrist for not being by the book. I believe this is another case of Gonzales not performing his role as others tell him to do and instead taking it upon himself to do a better job. If any punishment is thought to be needed it should not be on their permanant record staining their good name. Yours truely, Luke Pena.

CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: Elliot123 Character names: Elliot Proctor - Head Of Security Hayley Lagget - Librarian Ryliab Weeshib - Head Of Personnel Ethan - Detective Leon Shellb - Captain Anastasia Artyom - Assistant Kenny Proctor - Consular Officer (Republic Of Biesel) Beth Middleton - Chief Medical Officer Age: 20 Timezone: GMT What times are you most available?: GMT afternoons and evenings the majority of days. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Yikes. Two years and a bit? Maybe edging on three now? How long have you played on Aurora?: Since day one. How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? I used to be incredibly active on all three until I had about a six month break of zero activity on all of these things. Now I am back and active on both the Discord and main server. Slowly getting back into the forums as well, reading mostly. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: Yes on this one in fact. As for other games I've volunteered as administration staff on things such as Garry's Mod, Minecraft and some roleplay Discord servers. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: Yes, I was once upon a time a CCIA agent and CCIA Leader on Aurora and loved both roles. As stated in my previous application I've continued my face to face roleplaying games and still love world building and helping players explore and enjoy the world around them. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: To give back to the community that has given me so much over the years. As previously stated I also enjoy world building and assisting others in exploring and improving their roleplaying capabilities. Combine the two and that's my dream job on the Aurora. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: My answer to this has changed since my previous application. It used to be professionalism in all things. Keeping a level head and working with certainty in all things. These days I say the most important quality is empathy. Being able to understand other people and using this information being able to help them and bring out the best in them is essential for administrative work in general. Although professionalism is still highly important I would now argue if you have to drop the professional appearance in order to help out another person, or bring people together you should do so. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: During the ongoing round an agent is there to guide and give purpose to the round and also to make the world feel bigger and more real than it really is. They should not command the round or take control but rather be an invisible hand pulling strings to create intrigue, excitement and purpose. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: Outside of the server an agent handles IRs and things such as NT policy and directives. How do you handle stress?: Well. I can keep a level head regardless of the situation. How well do you work autonomously?: I enjoy working independently of others. Though this has its downsides also. It's important to use a good mixture of solo and team efforts to ensure the best result. Additional Notes: Edit 18/10/2019 23:40 - Adding bullet points to character names.

[Implemented] On Security Transparency During Crises
Elliot replied to Kaed's topic in Accepted/Implemented Policy
Due to both approval from the lore nerds and the fax nerds, gonna accept and impliment this. -
Personally I dislike this for the reasons that have already been mentioned. This can already be done simply by the HoS assigning people to certain areas of the station which is litteraly their job, if they require access this can be sorted by a HoP. There is no need to change security currently in my eyes.

[Accepted]Elliot's Tajara Application
Elliot replied to Elliot's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
In reply to the above: Her primary intrests include as suggested above: reading and learning. This is down to the lack of oppurtinity to do so in the past and how it may improve her life in the near future. Reading became a hobby primarily when learning Basic as few people spoke it and thus the best way to advance her knowledge was to read texts and examples of the language. Once understanding the basic her intrest peaked in non-fiction writing as it allowed her to understand life outside of her normal horizons. Learning the history of other nations and races was of paticular intrest due to the sheltered life she lead. She asspires to be a librarain to continue her studies whilst assisting others to do so in the peace and quiet she longs for. Although a previous passion she has fell out of love with foraging and farming due to the stress incurred as a result of the forced labour. It consumed her time and was always under the beady eye of some soldier or another. Away from the violence I'm sure she would love to attempt it again in a more relaxed enviroment, perhaps cultivating flowers or other lower effort occupations, rather than grueling days in the sun. In general she also dislikes large social gathering and being closly supervised. Traditionally her parents and her worshipped S'rendarr, although it was not forced upon her and as such her religious views are somewhat limited. The events of her childhood did have not much effect on this other than not focusing on it as often as she ussualy would. Instead she would focus on the day to day, and when possible take a moment to pay her respects. This was even clearer due to the death of her father at the hands of the ALA, her mother however was spared due to her role being more domestic. I hope this clears up your questions! If you have any more let me know. -
Due to the above feedback in addition to the discussions regarding this in the CCIA channel I will be dismissing this suggestion for the primary reasons discussed above, including but not limited to: Emergency Services / people of authority need to be easily identifiable in times of high stress. A set uniform is used to fulfil industry demands. For example it would not be acceptable to run around in heels whilst chasing after a suspect. People of authority must hold themselves to a higher degree of professionalism in order to maintain a mutual respect and trust. I will now be locking and moving the thread to the relevant section.

BYOND Key: Elliot123 Character Names: Elliot Proctor, Hayley Lagget, Ryliab Weeshib, Ethan, Leon Shellb. Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Dark Grey Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Tajara facinate me as a player. Whenever I run into one in game they are always memorable and enjoyable to RP with. They have a detailed and relevent lore which is always a blast to explore and read about, and of course most importantly is carried into the round in a way that is unintrusive but yet intreging and fun to explore. The main intrest for me personally is the clashing of idealogies and how it effects people in both positive and negative ways, and how said people change accordingly. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The Tajaran homeworld is riddled with conflict and this has deeply effected how they view others both internally within their own species and those outside of it. For example Tajarans may face descrimination based upon their ethnicity. There are deep social and political differences between them and humans in how they treat others and what they believe in, this can be seen by their more conservative views as a whole and how they look down on such things as inter-species relationships or homosexuality. This is in contrast to the more typical progresive and open views of most humans in the lore. Character Name: Anastasia Artyom Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Anastasia was born in the year 2441 into a poor family living in a rural village controlled by the PRA. She grew up as the small village was slowly modernising, though the vast majority of work still relied on labour based occupations. For the first nine years of her life it was somewhat peaceful with new technology trickiling into her village allowing it to slowly expand and have greater value in the grand scheme of things. When the second revoltuion began PRA forces would march through her small village, taking supplies as needed straining the populas, battles waged no more than a few kilometers from her household. Often Anna and other local children would venture into the wartorn hills and collect things like expended ammunition and discarded equipment to sell in order to assist their families. The war had halted the modernising of the small settlement and it seemed the battles were often waged closer and closer. As the hills became more bloodied PRA troops would shelter within the houses and even converted the town hall into a makeshift medical centre. Anna did not yet understand the conflict and instead only saw mysterious troops she had no previous communication with using her village for their needs. As always the battles inched closer and closer until eventually the soldiers began leaving Anna's village, a now even less wealthy hobble of buildings but instead of marching toward the mountains they headed away back from where they initially had come from. Before she knew it ALA troops entered her hometown, abusing and neglecting the local populas claiming that they had assisted the PRA when they marched through. The farmers were rounded up and shot in the centre of the village under the suspision of supplying the Republic forces with food as they marched. By this point Anna was of the age of 18 and had learned to work the land in order to fund the rebels, not by choice of course however. One night Anna fled on foot to B'urr, a PRA city to the East of her village. She arrived in taters after several days travel with nothing but the possesions she could fit in her bag. She began working yet again, this time in the city in a local clothes factory, saving penny by penny until she could afford travel off of her homeworld. She took several classes in Ceti Basic and began her travels to the NSS Aurora. She had been accepted there in an assistant position whilst she continues to study Basic, in the near future she hopes to become a hydroponisit or a librarian aboard the station. What do you like about this character? I like how she has experiance with both the PRA and ALA, seeing both in a negative light, I think it will be very intersting to interact with other characters who support different factions. I also enjoy her being a young character somewhat ignorant character as it will allow her to be intrested in interacting with others and generally curious to learn and explore. I think I'll also enjoy playing Anastasia as a cautious individual simply seeking a place where she belongs due to her chaotic childhood. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I don't like this question - never have. Regardless I feel it is good, but that should be decided by the feedback I recieve of course. Notes: None as of yet.

[Implemented] On Security Transparency During Crises
Elliot replied to Kaed's topic in Accepted/Implemented Policy
Wow, this is an old thread. Regardless I very much like this idea and to assist in this, a directive could be formed around this depending on further feedback from the community and the CCIA. I propose the following: Regarding Incident Management - Station Directive 11 -
[Retracted] DasFox's CCIA Application
Elliot replied to TheSleepyCatmom's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
I'll keep my reply short and blunt as most things I wish to say have been said. I am against DasFox joining the team at this current point in time. To elaborate on this, when initially poked by the team for my opinion I stated that we should not deny others due to past behaviour or attitudes and I do still stand by this; initially defending the application. That said the longer this application has gone on for the more concerns I have acquired about putting you on as a trial member. The interview put me off, to be to the point about it. It did show the detail oriented or methodical thought I wish it did and certainly didn't give off the vibe most of us are looking for. Quotes like "Law's fucked, man." and "Low-tier shitter" spring to mind. Whilst I more than most agree and found it rather amusing it's not something we are looking for, interaction wise. Previous applicants have been methodical, formal and upright whilst being interviewed but I do not see this here. The casual tone and attitude is a step away from what I personally am looking for. Casualness and a bit of memeing is not unfamiliar to myself as I'm sure many will jump on to back up however there is a time and place. This was not it. Overall the interview was a disappointing turn for this interview in my eyes as it reinforced my initial nagging thoughts about the lack of overall determination and tenacity of the application. Further to this Doc has mentioned that there is a "steady" stream of notes and admin actions against yourself. Again if this had been in the past it would not have been an issue but the fact it is current is almost insulting, despite this all being voluntary and a bit of fun CCIAAs and all other staff simply must hold themselves to a high level of behaviour and community standing. If I myself had notes and warnings coming in at a steady pace there is no chance of others seeing the CCIA as respectable or as people who should be given extra responsibility. Notice that I use responsively and not power, because at the heart of it the reason we've taken up this role is to help the community that has given us so much and give back to it in an enjoyable way. It is not for our own enjoyment, though it is fun, our actions have been, and always should be for the community. The notes and bans simply make me believe that this tenant is simply not there. Apologies for going on far longer than I should have. I thought this would be a short one but I was mistaken. Please, please, please take this as a positive post. It may feel as if I am actively against you joining but I am not. It's a matter of getting yourself centred, giving it some thought and deciding for yourself if you truly would want to join. If so, get all the notes and bans in the far past and apply again with more fire and determination. That is when I shall support you in this endeavour. -
[Accepted] Elliot's IPC Application
Elliot replied to Elliot's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Huh? Its partner committed suicide because it was better than he was at his job? Am I understanding this correctly? If so, I feel like that not only escalated quickly, but also does not really sound grounded in reality. I understand having a bit of dark, hush-hush past and needing something to fill that past, but I'm not sure this really makes sense. Could you describe this particular subject to me? [mention]CakeIsOssim[/mention] To further explain this section a little bit, this was not an instant reaction. This occurred over around a year of being repeatedly out performed by his synthetic companion. The detective begun slowly, drinking a bit more than he should on the weekend, progressing into weekday evening drinking and so forth. Instead of an instant reaction it was more of a 'straw that broke the camel's back' situation. Ethan, not hindered by such things as family relations and other basic human needs, would not need to stress over such things and could simply work until he required recharging or maintenance. His partner on the other hand begun to be tied down by such things resulting in poorer performance and eventual dismal at the end of this year or so period with Ethan taking his role in his place. This was the final straw as mentioned earlier as he felt without purpose and useless as a machine had easily replaced him. After it was discovered he had taken his own life Ethan was then re-stationed elsewhere to avoid the glares and prejudice from his colleagues as they partially blamed him for the death. -
"Well then there shall be no need to steal Ian in future. I shall head off to bed now, stay safe." Ryliabs final message reads.
-
Yet another message signed by Ryliab appears: "Then at this present time I hold no debts. Perhaps another time."
-
Another message appears on Evan's screen. This one signed with 'Ryliab Weeshib' it reads: "Noted. Are you armed currently?"

This is the rule in question. Why didn't you adminhelp your inability to proper store yourself? Exceptions to this rule are for people that lost connection to their server. If you cannot reasonably and proper store yourself, you should contact staff. In complete honesty I did not adminhelp as I was frustrated with the latency and simply wanted to leave as soon as possible, in my defence the HoP has some of the least important command items and I did not expect the round to improve. I can't recall if it did crash or not as at that point it was late in the night and I simply went to bed after disconnecting. I will genuinly be suprised if it did not crash as the ping pong at points took upwards of two minutes at the worst I experianced it.
