1. The shark thing makes sense in an environment and situation where Nick is USED to HUNTING spacecarps and he has killed many with his baton, along with space sharks. That shark was played by an admin which made it ten times more lethal than how it would have been otherwise. 2. I guess you didn't even read the post cause Suzuul was the one who instigated the fight, breaking a bottle on the head of a mental-disabled man who died not long ago and was cloned half an hour ago. Nick instigated nothing.
-
It would be a good reason, indeed, if he brought it up the moment you bwoinked him, cause that would have meant that he had that in his mind as the reason to break the bottle on my head. But he didn't. shrug There has been no interaction between Suzuul and Nick in a long time, and now suddenly the main reason for breaking that bottle without any previous roleplay was an incident that happened months ago?
-
Took you a while to think about some reasons as an excuse to do what you did, right? If you thought about those reasons BEFORE doing it, instead of acting like a griefer, you would have told Garnascus in the ahelp. I fought you back after you broke a bottle on me. You kept biting on my head after having me knocked down, and my head turned into a mangled mess. There's a difference, and you clearly had the intention to murder me. Previous interactions have happened between Suzuul and Nick, which were quite hostiles, usually instigated by the Guwan. Both have threatened each other multiple times indeed, but if he really thought about those reasons previously, why didn't he bring them during the ahelp? This is just an excuse.

BYOND Key: theneworleans Game ID: Beach Canon Event round. Round before b1S-aiNG Player Byond Key: -Suzuul Guwan -D'Jar Sa'Kuate Staff involved: Garnascus Reason for complaint: I complaint against these three players for literally going against the first rule of 'Creating Characters' which is: Characters must be believable, and well-rounded. No insane or psychotic characters. Those three quoted characters openly murdered in the middle of everyone, in the middle of a beach, in a CCIA picnic, with their bare hands/claws/teeth a human, literally butchering it (Your head becomes a mangled mess!). You would never be able to do this IRL, unless you are a psychotic psycopath (which you can't be, cause it's against the rules). They literally weren't provoked by Nick. Suzuul decided to broke a bottle without any reason on Nick's head, and after that, when Nick fought back, the other two quoted characters joined to lynch him and MURDER HIM (for example, other players decided to join but only tapping or pushing, or grabbing, but the ones quoted decided to go LETHAL against him, again, I repeat, with their bare claws/teeth. There was not a good escalation for this, it was non-existent. Suzuul broke the bottle without any reason. Nick fought back against Suzuul and the others joined to murder Nick. This made no sense, and I think that the only reason behind this is that 'Nick is a disliked person' You know? I dislike people IRL. You probably do too. And you do not BUTCHER THEM WITH YOUR HANDS. This looked like hard griefing to me. I REMARK THE FACT THAT I'M ONLY COMPLAINING AGAINST THE ONES WHO WENT LETHAL AGAINST NICK, NOT THE ONES WHO GAVE HIM A BEAT WITH PULLED PUNCHES FOR EXAMPLE. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes I did, I ahelped about the issue with Suzuul and Garnascus dealt with him. However, Suzuul then took part in Nick's murder, so it's an extension of the issue. However we should somehow make using cutlery the standard thing But people see 'eating' more like REFILL MY HUNGERBAR SO I CAN GO VALIDHUNT A BIT MORE, than Oh, let's enjoy some small talk while eating something delicious, in a proper way, since this Chef took his time to cook it

Well, I posted here before the trial, and now, after sharing some rounds with Lock as HoS I have to say that the only thing he is missing is experience, he has all the rest. He knows how to speak with difficult employees (Nick is a hard bone for any HoS, imo), he knows how to deal with situations, he knows how to speak, he is starting to have his own charismatic phrase (Bastaki is the elyrian motto, Lock's is People and Property xD), he knows how to delegate, he's pretty good, impressive actually for a player that joined not much ago. Before the trial I had my doubts, now it's quite clear for me that Lock will be a great HoS. +1 again

Thing is that when you grab the dish like that it seems like you are gobbling, I don't know, was just an idea.

I eat chewing gum all day IRL, and many people too We could add it to the server, but I don't know how... maybe as a food that lasts a lot lot in your mouth and creates some kind of sound from time to time (although it's not polite to make sounds while chewing gum), or something? Or as a mask item? Gimme feedback

An idea just came to my mind while playing If you are not an unathi or a tajara and you eat without using cutlery, you have a chance of choking too Let's stop eating like pigs.

I do not work in a billions-worth sci-fi space research station, you know? I totally agree. The fact that common is used as VoIP may be regulated, but removing Common for everyone would just make you feel 'lonely' in the server, what about the rounds with 10 players? Nah, I don't think this is a good idea

Clear criteria for calling an Emergency Shuttle
TheOrleans replied to Screemers's topic in Rejected Policy
AI being able to call an emergency shuttle has to stay. However, I would accept that missuse of this could easily lead to an AI-ban -
It's very interesting. Not good, but interesting. Roleplay-wise it's totally stupid. Why would you make 'calling for help harder'? It makes sense to have headsets. If you remove this, everyone will carry a station radio everywhere. -1

BYOND Key: TheNewOrleans Total Ban Length: Perma SecBan Banning staff member's Key: @DRagO Reason of Ban: As Warden, used a ninja suit after being explained how to use it (basic explanation) (that were considered not valid by Drago) to hunt a Merc who was in his shuttle. Reason for Appeal: 1. First reason is that, once of the main reasons Drago gave me for the secban was that I had just came out of a 3-days-ban, and my new mistake showed that I learnt nothing from it. That 3 days ban was expunged, so, I wanted to remark this before giving the other reasons. 2. Drago said that I had to take a time away from Sec, and well, I have, I played my QM many rounds, my roboticist which is a new character I created, my xenobotanist which is new too, Nick (my officer) as visitor... 3. I talked about IAmCrystalClear about what I did since she was banned from sec too but her ban was lifted, that helped me to understand some things. imo, what I did wrong was hunting the antag inside his own shuttle. In my mind it was right because he had been firing my security mates, but I totally agree that hunting him inside his own shuttle was way too much.

1 dismissal - Allow us to see our own notes
TheOrleans replied to TheOrleans's topic in Rejected Policy
And why not just allowing us to see our notes anytime we want? -
Also there are another glasses which are the fat ones, I love them and I use them
-
Security Aviators already have that. You either choose between SecHUD or flash protection. When I use them, I always have the flash protection on, so, that wouldn't help much.

I mean, we don't know the force applied but those 'rushes of air', but, I agree they shouldn't affect industrial frames which weight who knows how many hundreds of kilograms like they affect humans who weight around 70-80kg If the rush of air is enough to knock down an industrial frame, it's enough to throw a human flying away and maybe kill him if he hits something. If the rush of air is only enough to knock down a human, it's not enough to move the industrial frame even a bit. HOWEVER. Magboots also prevent you from falling down holes, so it's not the same. I agree with giving Industrial Frames immunity to rushes of air, but not integrated magboots.

TheOrleans replied to TheOrleans's topic in Rejected Policy
I have a ton of notes, I feel bad asking an admin to show me everything, that's a lot of copy paste. -
1 dismissal - Allow us to see our own notes
TheOrleans replied to TheOrleans's topic in Rejected Policy
Maybe allow the staff to write notes and mark them as ''invisible'' or ''visible'' for the players? Most of them SHOULD be visible, but not the ones that the staff deem 'important to current investigations' or whatever -
1 dismissal - Allow us to see our own notes
TheOrleans replied to TheOrleans's topic in Rejected Policy
It is totally impossible to remember every time you have been spoken about an issue. The thing is, if you have been spoken about something, and there's a note regarding that incident, why aren't you allowed to check your own notes? So you can remember bad things you did in the past and not repeat them again, even if they are little little mistakes, why not? -
I'm going to be totally honest, as I always am. I'm probably not going to step away when shit hits the fan, or maybe for a short period, but that's not a long-term solution. I have to be able to manage stressful situations without fucking up. I will probaly try to avoid these situations for some time, but not permanently. BUT I already had in mind to start ahelping more, quite more, in order to ask about things before doing them. I think that will help me quite a lot, and if anything goes wrong after ahelping, I can blame the admin No, but, seriously, I'm totally going to start ahelping to ask about stuff. It's better to click the ahelp button to ask than to reply a bwoink.

Have return to lobby as default job selection option
TheOrleans replied to Pratepresidenten's topic in Completed Projects
I mean, the title Prate gave to the suggestion is 'Make return to lobby set as default', deleting the Random Job option is not compulsory imo
