BYOND Key: SierraKomodo Player Byond Key: Ffrances/Isuckatroleplaying as 'halo', halorocks as 'Isaac Garneys' Staff involved: Josh1133 (Provided/confirmed ckeys), TishinaStalker (Situation was explained to him via steam) Reason for complaint: There is so many things to bring up here, I'm not sure where to start, so I'm just gonna note things randomly. ISSUE 1: Frances/Isuckatroleplaying as a bald nuclear operative named 'NOPE', and an ID labelled 'halo', spent the majority of the round acting in a manner that I wouldn't consider conducive to a heavy roleplay environment. To start with, here's what their ID said: And then there's these snippets from things said over radio by halo. There's a lot more, but these are all I have screenshots for (Server logs can be reviewed for other things. There's just so much in the log I have saved I don't even want to go through it all). ISSUE 2: There was what looked a /lot/ like metabuddying going on between halorocks (Isaac), frances, and a third person playing Solomon Curnow (Whom was banned this round, not 100% sure on the exact reasoning for the ban). To start of with, Isaac completely stripped off all of his gear as a janitor - Including his clothing and ID card - and gave it all to Solomon, spending the rest of the round running around completely naked up until Frances' character announced that the syndicates were hiring - She specifically called out Solomon by name, but not anybody else, just after asking if anybody wanted to join them and Isaac had immediately volunteered himself. He accepted, and they both were in departures. They both ended up being SSD when Frances arrived to recruit them, so she left, apparently leaving behind a hardsuit as Isaac was running around in a blood red hardsuit (Without an ID) after coming back from SSD. Here's a screenshot of Solomon being called out by name, and of Isaac wearing nothing but the hardsuit, no ID (Had to have Tish hop in to temporarily remove his helmet so it wouldnt just say 'Unknown') And then, while laying on the ground in the middle of the brig, dying from a popped lung... halo (follow) says, "Okay" halo (follow) says, "Maybe a bit late to ask" halo (follow) asks, "But once all this blows over, any of you interested in defecting from NanoTrasen to join the syndicate?" ISSUE 3: This is primarily with Isaac, particularly with him running around as a bald, naked, IDless janitor for a good 45 minutes to an hour of the round. There was a point where he just walked right into engineering, didn't say anything, and tried picking up an engineering hardsuit and had put it on before one of the engineers told him off for it. He put it back, said 'Sorry, i wanted to be an engineer' and was then escorted out by a borg. He spent the rest of the round wandering around, still completely naked until issue #2. (I wasn't focused on him up until issue #2). Approximate Date/Time: Nov 29, 2015. Round started at ~11:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (0727 UTC) On a side note, I want to bring attention to the fact that incidents like this, regarding the low level of RP standards and the blatant chucklefuckery done by people who should know better, are happening way more often than they should be, without any actions being taken to mitigate or stop it. This server calls itself heavy RP. As of this moment, with what this round just showed us, this server is less RP than Paradise was a year ago, and they call themselves low-medium RP. One of our older moderators that's been a moderator for a long time (I think possibly nearly as long as I've been on Aurora?), who's also a friend of mine, just got done telling me he's leaving the staff, possibly the server for that matter. You guys /really/ need to start cracking down on things like this. It's turning this server into a toxic community that doesn't deserve to call itself heavy RP, or even use the name of 'Aurora' that I remember was a hell of a lot better than this back in February. Figure out your rules, get a system worked out, decide once and for all if you're going to be a heavy RP server that's going to crack down on this, or if you're going to be a low-rp server so that people can stop expecting things to get better.

The main thing thing that's gotten be rather short with staff has been the trackrecord (At least from my personal experience) of things just not being done, people not communicating, people saying something will be done then nothing happening, etc. Most of that honestly has been from my experiences as a DO and my annoyances with that just not having had an outlet so it bleeds out into ahelps, and I'm sorry for that, although I have had issues with staff ignoring my ahelps when I see them talking in OOC, or I get the 'username will handle your request' and then nothing happens after that. One of the main reasons I'm going with staff is to try and lead by example in regards to communicating and getting things done instead of backseat-slapping (I like this term, it's now mine) people about it like I have been recently.

Alright all I wanted to say was I was not the Captain this round I was IAA. When the HoS said "Or the person who administers it" I think he was trying to correct himself because of our outburst against what he said. Also when I said ignore that order, I was trying to think about something else to say like "He is risking Nanotrasen Security by doing this" But I was afraid I was going to get it turned against me by him saying that they were security. I will admit, I may have overstepped a bit but he was not getting information out of the intruder the way he was interrogating her. I really like your playstyle; the overstepping IA agent role is one that very rarely can be done right. You did it pretty right, and it's all good and fun in-game, but now there's a complaint about this, and that's when the slightly unorthodox methods of going at things - like the overstepping IA agent things - tend to damage your credibility. Anyways, the HoS wasn't the one failing at the interrogation in my eyes. It was the cadet and IA's fault for their frequent interruptions, and the wizard's for being dishonest. This is all very common in wizard rounds. A wizard lying in an interrogation is no reason for a complaint, but neither is a HoS reacting demandingly to the lying. IT'S A DELIBERATE MORAL FEATURE OF THE ROUND TYPE. I don't see how ANY of this warrants a complaint at all. And who are you to say whether or not the wizard was 'lying'? How do you know that the wizard, ICly, wasn't actually going to a party and got lost? And, beyond that, did we all forget what the purpose of a head of staff on this server is supposed to be? Your job s not to lock down an antag who hasnt even done anything yet solely because he's an antag, and turn the round into extended for everyone but you and your power complex. When you take an antag and lock them in the brig - Interrogation, solitary, communal, whatever - Without any valid reason beyond 'Oh he has powers he might be a threat even though he hasn't done anything', you're for one being a dick to the player, or two abusing your power as a head of staff, and three, you're just being a plain fucking shitter. This is the kind of thing I would have ahelped, repeatedly, until it was handled by a moderator if I'd seen it, and I think you need to reconsider what the purpose of security, antags, and a head of staff is on a /heavy roleplay server/ (Or at least whats supposed to be a heavy roleplay server) is.

1. I actually age in reverse, much like Benjamin Button. The reason why I appear older on my skype is because I made it longer ago. 2. I'm applying on the lore team to help Jackboot with editing (which I've already done a bit of, there might just be more in the future plus if I get accepted I suppose I'll have to hang out with the boys in the lore chat.) Lore isn't a terribly big time commitment, it's mostly a matter of ideas and creativity. And getting work done when work needs doing - which isn't terribly difficult imo. 3. So are you actually going to take this seriously, or just shitpost like this? Cause if you're not going tot ake it seriously, why did you even post an application in the first place?

I was a trial mod once. Between my experience there, and how things usually go for me stress/annoyance wise when playing in round while not a staff member.. It wouldn't work out. I got malf banned because I reacted poorly to a stressful situation; It wouldn't be a good idea for me to be a server moderator in a situation like that. Forums aren't fast paced, take-action-right-now type of situations and I can take the time to sit back, contemplate a situation, and come to a better decision.

To be honest I'm not doing much if anything for that at this point.

In regards to forum moderation, it does seem that things are rolling along exactly as they should be as far as I'm aware. So, currently, there's nothing I think should be changed beyond them getting another helping hand, since Keknar seems to be wanting a third mod to work with.

Mostly, it's because it's one of the few games I play that has interaction with other players/people; It's also because of the roleplay element. Why do you play on Aurora?: Aurora is the only server I know of that has a roleplay focus that isn't ERP central; Honestly, if Aurora stops being a place to RP on ss13 I'd probably end up leaving the game. What do moderators do?: Moderators keep the peace on the server, making sure everyone plays nicely and follows the rules. Their job isn't to dish out warnings and bans for every instance of a broken rule, but to make sure everyone keeps to a civil discussion in the forums, perhaps by guiding posts back on topic if needed. What does it mean to be a moderator for our community?: Aside from the responsibilities that come with the position, moderators are still just a part of the server's community and player base. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Because keknar won't shut up until I apply. I like to be helpful, and noticed there's only two forum moderators right now; I figured a third would be more helpful. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I have experience from other communities as a moderator/admin, and a majority of the community does get along with me. I'm also currently an admin on the teamspeak server that hosts the Aurora channels. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Insults wise, I've gotten to where I just ignore it and move on, after having past experience with the typical abuse you can sometimes get in other communities. Why would nanotrasen give a crew member a concealed, lethal weapon? Particularly when this crew member isn't even in security?
