  1. A quick clarification. It was the suspension, and only the suspension, as a result of you leaving that I was talking about retconning. The meeting, and the official warning you were originally going to receive after the fact were still going to be canon. If admins want to scrub that as well, it's up to them.
  2. I'm just going to toss in here that the pre-meeting 'suspension' was CC ordering /both/ the Captain and the Head of Security to be temporarily relieved of duty until the duty officer was able to speak with everyone in person and get a final idea of what actually happened. Alongside that, I'd waited until after the CT vote went through before sending anything so I'd know if there was time for that meeting (If the CT vote passed, I'd have just sent a message saying an internal investigation was being opened, and that all parties should expect to hear from a DO in the future). I hadn't intended for the temporary relief of duty to become both of your IDs being suspended; That's just how the other heads of staff interpreted it which was another communication error on my part I suppose. To answer Skull, it jumped up to a suspension because he pulled a stunt ICly that, if this were an actual job, would have resulted in similar actions I'm fairly certain. Being reprimanded for something you did, then backtalking the superior who's reprimanding you and going to sleep on the desk doesn't make a good impression. But, as Skull said, I did bring up retconning the suspension: And I'm still perfectly fine with going this route; I'm not sure if admins need to approve on this or not though.
  3. Right so I've had a chance to read everything over. Between what Tish and Gollee have already said, that pretty much covers just about everything I was going to cover. There is one thing I want to bring up though - You seem very adamant about your belief that I'm meta grudging. Here's the thing. I didn't even know you played Livingstone until the admins informed me. My only interaction with you that I remember as being you wasn't even an interaction; Just me noticing you complaining about things in OOC awhile back then quitting. The argument you brought up in LOOC in the brig; I've done that a few times with various different people, particularly when they're doing something like stacking a ricidulous number of charges to brig someone for 30+ minutes instead of the 5-10 that they should be getting because, let's face it, locking a player in the brig for over a quarter of a usual round because you think you can as security is a shit move. You also mentioned an IC conflict with one of my characters - Blue pants, red cap; That's Sai'da Karim-Surkov, who has an attitude with just about everyone and everything if she doesn't like them. And, that's irrelevant. Why? It's IC - I know how to keep IC and OOC separate. And, honestly? I don't remember any conflicts between Sai'da and Livingstone, or even seeing Livingstone in round before. Hopefully that covers the last of this.
  4. Don't currently have the time to read through all of this because of work. However, I can say that originally your character was going to receive an official warning from the DO corps and leave it at that. The meeting was mostly IC fluff, since DOs are supposed to handle everything ICly. What made this become a suspension was this: In the middle of being spoken to by the duty officer, your character decided to backtalk him, then say she's going to sleep, and you went SSD. That's basicalyl the IC equivalent of backtalking a mod in ahelp, then quitting when they were talking to you. For the record, the decision I made was run past admins before I went ahead and actually posted it. For anyone that wants to look over them, I saved logs of all the faxxes sent to/from central, and of the meeting that took place in round: Log of all faxxes sent Meeting log:
  5. Thread's starting to get a bit off topic. The focus should be on the lore application, not necessarily coolbc2000's characters.
  6. But here's the thing. Why would CC promote them to HoS if they have that kind of attitude?
  7. Think of it this way: I'm working this job because I need the money to survive, maybe I have kids I have to feed and I'm behind on bills. This guy comes on station and tells me how he owns this company, has all this money, and he's only working here as a 'hobby' when maybe someone else needed the job he took.
  8. If your characters have their own company and are rich for it, why would they even be working for NT? Why would NT even hire someone who owns a rival company?
  9. You are aware that you're not supposed to have your own in-game characters in power for these?
  10. Why not replace 'sophont being' with 'employee', then have that lawset replace asimov? If we're talking about this in the sense of just adding this in as a new law board in the AI core, I guess that's fine. However, it may never be used, or rarely be used. The AI, with the corporate lawset, is meant to be as much of a guardian as it is a slave. The Asimov lawset was designed to prevent revolt. It's not a bad experimental lawset (fuck off, Antimov), I just don't think it'll ever be used. I do like the 'sophont being' thing, though. 99% of AIs that get these laws are going to have no idea what sophont being means, so I'm not sure what's a good wording to use
  11. To be fair, whether a character has flamboyant pink hair or is a wallflower brunette, it's not going to change the character's personality/attitude. That's not really an issue that's relevant to the records ban reason.
  12. [a bunch of self contradictory stuff] When mystical religious stuff happens provably in front of you, and another religious figure claims he can fix it, why would you not give them the benefit of the doubt? Because technology and bluespace. A believer will always be a believer, and a skeptic will always be a skeptic, even if they have to reach out to find an explanation that isn't entirely logical or plausible.
  13. Why not replace 'sophont being' with 'employee', then have that lawset replace asimov?
  14. A 20-22 year old nurse that is in med school. Has flamboyant pink hair, was born in south Africa on earth. No criminal back ground. Work experience technical assistance. What's the issue with making someone that has white skin, brown hair, green eyes and was born on a space station, for instance? Making your character stick out externally without anything interesting going for them on the inside is a recipe for disaster, man. I don't think you've put much thought into the same points that were discussed with you before the ban was put into place Honestly, aside from the flamboyant pink hair (Which, let's be honest, we have several characters with unnatural hair colors that are accepted), I'd say this is a good start.
  15. If you need someone to help you come up with realistic records that better fit in with the lore, toss me a PM with what you have and we can see what we can come up with from there
  16. Azaela's very very strict on following regulations to the letter, and she makes sure to enforce this to the best of her ability, including calling Conservan into her office when he's an atmos tech wit records that only say he's an engineer
  17. From the log, it seemed Jackboot kept reversing the numbers and confusing himself xD
  18. I don't know what I expected when I asked for feedback.
  19. As the leading trooper for the ERT that was called, we were told ICly that a hostile xenobiological lifeform that could impersonate any crewmember it killed was loose aboard the station. We put together aplan to systematically search and verify the identity of every crewmember, which took a lot longer than it should have because nobody on this station wants to cooperate with anybody. When I saw the timer was past three and a half hours and we couldn't get anywhere, I decided 'fuck it, we're calling a shuttle'.
  20. Right so, since everyone else is doing this, and I'm curious to know if anybody has any problems with my regular characters, decided I'd put them up here as well: Characters: Ariana Eshlian Azaela Nejem D'ar'rhe 'Andrey' Mia'asika'zar Flowing Rivers of Blood in a Field of Battle Katana Silvers Kylan Lo'Rah Mimirkra Mi'dynh Miraj Zi'Ad Rasine Ha'kim Sai'da Karim-Surkov Saite Kesra Samantha Black Siiead Kesra Tali Mi'hil Zakiya Ahmad Ziva Ta'kim AIs: ECOM Katana Alpha Kunai Sibat
  21. Unless this has been changed very recently, the wiki does specifically say the difference between manslaughter and murder is whether or not you had an intent to kill; This post kind of redefines that difference.

  23. I think we're getting a bit off topic here. The nuances/specifics of the regulations aren't what's in question in this complaint (Although I do agree some clarification might be warranted, another thread might be best for this discussion); It's the warning issued by Serveris and whether or not this warning is valid.
  24. It was bad, but the good can outweigh the bad eventually if I prove myself, I'm just asking for this last chance. Whats the worst that could happen, I get angry, get banned, there's 5 minutes of people getting upset and then I never come back. And then when you come back in 6 months with the same spiel? This would be the third time you were banned, the second time you were banned and it said it was permanent without appeal.
