  1. Cyborgification request possibly, but from my understanding thats covered under regulation as something command staff can authorize without contacting CC first (But requiring the borgified person's permission in the form of a signed waiver)
  2. Alright so ignoring the irrelevant discussion on usage of lethal/non lethal response to a lethal, uncontained threat... This form is apparently irrelevant to the current in character laws and regulations, in that executions are against Biesel law entirely. So, unless that's going to change, the execution form may as well be removed entirely from the database.
  3. I've just got a monitor checking the server's ping response and poking the byond port every 5 minutes. The moment it can connect again, I'm getting a text and a popup on my computers
  4. I've been following this thread for a while. It took a while before I was satisfied with an answer, but this chunk here is what I approve of. We have a ton of typical brutish lizard men but very few typical downtrodden lizard women. As long as you make your time at Aurora all about this - exploring relatively untouched avenues of arpee - rather than being "that one person who joined to be Attimus' bitch", I'd be super happy to see you around. I agree with this, and have also been following the posts. The only thing I'm concerned with now is not having personally seen you RP on server, but it's not my decision to approve you in the end anyway
  5. If you want, I can put something together for that and host it with all my other Aurora scripts stuff
  6. That sounds about right. Also, as a note when setting times... http://wiki.baystation12.net/index.php?title=Space_Law Essentially this means you give them a single charge per crime, don't try to bump up someones brig time to ludricrous amounts. You really /shouldnt/ be trying to go above the minimum brig time unless they're a repeat offender during the same round.
  7. Have you ever worked on non human species (Tajaran, Unathi, Diona)?
  8. I'm not seeing this in the lore questions or answered questions section?
  9. I'd be willing to give this a try for a day or two, see how well it works. I can predict players purposefully skipping the extended or voted for rounds, though.
  10. There's a few genetics modifications that cause a glowing/aura sprite affect that we arent actually supposed to be able to see in-character, but it tends to cause a lot of meta, or people just arent aware they arent supposed to see it and immediately call it out. I'd recommend removing this sprite effect for the glowing/auras that we aren't supposed to see IC. Also, Delta gave me an idea for an IC indicator of the TK genetics modification to replace the glowy effect that's apparently used as an OOC indicator. Whenever it's used, force an emote that's something along the lines of '[name] waves their hand vaguely' or something; Maybe have a small list of different emotes that are randomly selected. Something that hints at what they're doing, but doesn't outright tell you.
  11. I'm not an official lore person, but if I recall correctly, it requires a waiver form to be signed and stamped by both the geneticist/xenobiologist and the CMO/Research Director/Captain, otherwise it's illegal self testing.
  12. Oooo, I like this, alot, and I can guess you're going to be making a lot of use of this for RP, considering the searching for his sister thing. The sprite Enkas came up with looks great, too. +1
  13. It's already been done for Red Queen as a borg, iirc, so the framework should be there (Correct me if I'm wrong devs). As for the request itself, it looks good. The design is also very familiar, but I can't quite place where I've seen that from before (From another game, I /think/, I just cant remember off the top of my head). It also has a backstory to back-up having the custom design, by the looks of it. +1 from me.
  14. NOTE: This post is OOC information. This information is not publically available IC, but some characters may have learned it from Ziva. Zakiya Ahmad was born as an only child to a M'Sai father (Rayan Ahmad), and a Zhan-Khazaan mother (A'isha Ali-Ahmad), and raised in a log cabin her father built at the base of a mountain, near a frozen lake. While her family did live in a quiet part of the region, one of the nearby cities grew as she did - A port town called Kal'Tiiv. Her father worked as a hunter and ice-hole fisher, providing food for the home and income from the excess food he sold at market, while her mother worked for a corporate-owned logging operation in the nearby mountainside. As she grew up, Zakiya spent most of her time with her father, being taught how to hunt and fish, and how to survive in the wilderness, away from the technology and bustle of cities. Whenever she went out hunting or fishing with her father, it was with the usual 4 or 5 others that made up the 'hunting party' that her uncle led. The team consisted of: Rayan Ahmad, her father; Zakiya Ahmad; Qusay Ahmad, leader of the team; Zainab El-Amin, a friend of Rayan and Qusay's; and Navid El-Amin, Zainab's son whom was around the same age as Zakiya. She spent many years working with her father, uncle, and family friends, learning the art of hunting as the M'sai were known for. Even as the only member of the party without white fur, she picked up on all the little tricks quickly, and Navid and her quickly became close friends. When she turned 16, she had her first real taste of the nearby port city. Prior to this, her father had always left her at home when he went to market, feeling the crowds and noise would not do good for a growing daughter. Now, however, he decided (With a little encouragement from her mother) to take her with him to Kal'Tiiv, and teach her how to sell the meat and fish they had caught. Her first experiences with the city were both exciting and frightening to her, as someone who had lived her entire life separated from the hustle and bustle, seeing the same several people and the occasional stranger, now walking down a street packed with Tajara and even some non Tajaran races (It was her first time meeting another race, in fact). Rayan greeted and introduced her to a few other mechants he was friendly with, including one female whom also ran a fish stall and seemed to have a friendly competition with her father. It was also during this first visit to Kal'Tiiv that a small Zhan-Khazaan family, with a rather rowdy son, came to Rayan's stall. While her father and the parents were talking, the boy had suddenly broken out in a fight with a nearby Hharaar of the same age. After breaking up the fight, Rayan and the boy's parents got into a discussion, and an offer was made to take the boy, called Latif Ha'kim, out on the hunting parties to teach him some discipline. The family, and Latif, accepted this invitation, and Latif went with the hunting party the very next day. As life went on, and she continued to work with the hunting party and she came of age, her and Navid soon became more than just friends. However, two years down the line, they both decided that they weren't right for eachother in a relationship and became nothing more than friends once again. As Zakiya turned 20, Latif was still working with the hunting party, and the three younger Tajaran (Latif, Zakiya, and Navid) had become inseparable friends. Rayan had, at some point, taken over leadership of the party as her uncle grew too old for the work, and it was common for him to leave the three to handle their own hunting while he and Zainab went a separate way. Splitting off like this let them capture more game, and brought in a little more income each day from the market. Five years down the line, when Zakiya was 25, Navid expressed an interest in taking a shuttle off Adhomai, and going to see the universe. He had heard of a company called NanoTrasen, and heard that they hired Tajaran and treated them well. Zakiya was reluctant with the idea at first, but after being pressured by both Navid and Latif to go with them, she finally gave in. The three left for Tau Ceti, where they had heard there were open positions in NanoTrasen, in the hopes of getting a foot in the door. All three applied to work for corporation, but only Zakiya and Latif were hired; Navid was denied after a bad encounter with a (supposedly racist) representative during an interview, and instead took up a job with a local business as a waiter. Zakiya signed a contract, which would place her aboard the NSS Aurora for her first term with the corporation, floating among various civilian jobs until finding one that would mesh with her skills and dislike of small spaces, all the while wondering if she made a mistake leaving her home.
  15. NOTE: This post is OOC information. This information is not publically available IC, but some characters may have learned it from Ziva. Sairis was born on June 19, 2422, aboard a military station in the Sol system. She grew up with a pilot as a father, and a station engineer as a mother. Upon turnign 18 and completing her basic education, she began work aboard the station as a civilian janitor, sometimes working with her mother and picking up on various engineering tricks that helped with her janitorial duties. At the age of 23, in the year 2445, Sairis made a decision to move on from civilian duties, and officially enlist with the Navy. She spent three months in basic training, then an additional four years with the Naval Academy, studying mechanical engineering. She graduated from the Academy in the year 2450, at the age of 28, and began her Naval career as a shuttle engineer, working with pilot Mathias Arcole. Three years of work aboard the shuttlecrafts, always working with the same pilot, the two had become close friends, then more, and had become engaged in 2453. A month later, however, their shuttle crash-landed during a NanoTrasen funded transport operation, and Mathias was killed in the resulting impact, unable to be cloned. Sairis was also severely wounded in the crash, and was medically discharged from the Navy following an extensive operation and recovery period. Approximately half a month following the crash, she was approached by a NanoTrasen representative with a job offer as a station engineer. She accepted the offer, but also requested janitorial or cargo duty be added to her roster. The contract was signed on August 15, 2453. A week later, she was assigned to the NCS Cyberiad as a cargo technician and station engineer, based on which positions were required for the shift. After two years of work aboard the station, she received a promotion to Quartermaster, and was placed in charge of the cargo division for many shifts in the next two years. As 2457 rolled around, a routine psych eval required for all personnel revealed high levels of stress due to events aboard the Cyberiad, and she was immediately transferred to the Aurora - A calmer, research based station - In the hopes of avoiding a mental breakdown. A month and a half later, Sairis is working aboard the Aurora as a Station Engineer and Quartermaster, and has put in a request for promotion to Chief of the Engineering department.
  16. NOTE: This post is OOC information. This information is not publically available IC, but some characters may have learned it from Ziva. She was born raised in Kal'Tiiv, near the city's harbor, and right next door to her cousins. Her parents both worked at the harbor - Her Zhan-Khazaan mother as a fisher and merchant, her Hharaar father taking care of repairs for a price. She worked with her parents, learning both fields of work as she grew up, and found she had a liking for building, tinkering, and fixing things. As a result, she was quick to accept the official job offer to work with her father when she turned 16, and spent the next several years working on repairing various transport vessels that had come in for dock. While working at the dock, she met another Hharaar named Maram Kad'r, who worked aboard a fisihing vessel. When he was not at sea during fishing season, the two grew closer and eventually started dating. The relationship lasted for 2 years, before Maram returned from a fishing trip with a pregnant female whom he claimed to be his new mate. Ziva was devastated with what happened, and took leave from work for a few months, helping her family at home during this time. When she returned to work, Maram was no longer there, and she slowly got back into her old routine with the job. At the age of 19, in 2451, she was admitted to the nearby hospital after experiencing a sudden heart attack. She recovered, but was diagnosed with a rare genetic heart disease passed down from her mother's side of the family, one which does not currently have a known cure - Only treatment. She was cleared to resume working two weeks later. In January of 2456, at age 23, she decided to apply for a job with a company whom her cousin Karima was working for and had recommended: NanoTrasen. She was accepted, and signed the contract to work as an engineering apprentice for one year in Tau Ceti. She left Adhomai on one of the transports bound for Tau Ceti. Her first assignment was to be trained and work aboard the NSS Exodus as an engineering apprentice, where she learned basic electrical systems, EVA, and engine work as well as the proper procedures for handling station hull repairs. A few months after she first arrived, she had started getting a reputation for getting frustrated with crew members who were making Engineering's jobs more difficult during meteor showers (Which were fairly common for the station at the time). Having decided she had dealt with enough, in March of 2456, she issued a threat on radio against a crewmember that wanted to force open a breach area. She was detained by security following the repair work, and had her first corporate charge levied against her. She was later transferred to the NSS Antlia, in an attempt to see if a new environment would reduce these problems. For the most part, the crew seemed less prone to cause issues for Engineering, though the relative lack of constant meteor showers on this station may have aided in that regard. However, there was an incident when the station got caught by a rogue meteor that did heavy damage to the research section. One scientist was constantly forcing open breached areas, spreading the depressurization further into the station, and Ziva yelled at him when she spotted him. She told him she was going to throw him into an airlock, and shoot him off into space if he didn't stop it - Security heard, and both were detained for the situation. Barely a month after this incident, a routine annual medical examination revealed high stress levels were expediting damage caused by her heart disease, and she was quickly transferred to the NSS Aurora, where her cousin worked, in the aim of reducing stress by putting her in the presence of family. However, it was slightly too late, as the damage was already done. A couple of months after the transfer, her heart began to fail and she had a pacemaker installed to regulate her heartbeat. She was also temporarily banned from engineering work as a result, both due to the risk of EM radiation damaging the pacemaker, and the constant stress she was receiving from the job. She worked with her cousin Karima in the robotics lab as an assistant during this time, as money was raised for an expensive operation needed to repair the damage. This operation was performed a week later, and after another week of medical leave for rest and recovery, she returned to the NSS Aurora with her previous job in the engineering department. Currently, Ziva is still working aboard the NSS Aurora as a maintenance technician in the engineering department, specializing in repair work and getting emergency personnel into areas they otherwise would not be able to access themselves. She has also begun working on keeping herself more calm during emergency situations, and not letting herself become overly stressed by other's actions.
  17. NOTE: This post is OOC information, not publically available IC. Saite was born to and grew up in a clan of Unathi engineers, though as one of the females of the clan, she was never trained in any of her family's engineering work. Instead, her time with the family was spent helping clean their home, put food on the table, keep things organized and, at times, would join her male siblings to do the same tasks at a job site. Due to the nature of her clan's work, there was some contact with travellers and merchants of other species when she was working at a job site preparing food and cleaning messes. As she grew up, she started getting more and more interested in the stories these visitors had to tell of the universe outside Moghes. On her twentieth birthday (hatch-day?), she approached her grandfather - The clan's current Alpha - with a request to leave Moghes like other Unathi have before her to explore the outside universe she had heard so much about. He was reluctant, at first, but eventually gave in to the idea, on a single condition: She would be accompanied by one of her brothers. Siiead Kesra (See-Ed), from the same clutch, volunteered to go with, and in the year 2456 they had both set out with the Alpha's blessing. A year later, and Saite had found employment with NanoTrasen. Having just signed her employment contract, and completed her orientation training and shown she knows enough Tau Ceti Basic to function on station, she has been assigned to the NSS Aurora for janitorial and assistant work as a trial period.
  18. I like this character's backstory, and I have the strangest feeling her and Saite would get along great if they every met on station. I think some people might think she's a bit snowflakey, with what appears to be a 'lone survivor of a destroyed orphanage' story, but it's fine with me (Especially considering what a real snowflake would look like). The only thing making me hesitant about giving you a straight +1 is I haven't seen or interacted with your other character that I can recall, to get a feel for how well your play/roleplay is, but I'll be keeping a look out for them when I'm on.
  19. To be completely honest here, I like Chris, and I like VICE. BUT! VICE, I don't really know of anything beyond his dance moves. Honestly, if this wasn't Chris but someone I didn't know, I'd have taken one look at the application and thought 'This needs work' and provided some suggestions to improve the application, but I'm too tired to come up with decent suggestions right now. I can say that the backstory seems a bit more like an outline to me right now, though, and feels like it's missing something
  20. This application gets a yes from me. I especially love the WetSkrell part of her characters backstory (I don't think I've ever seen a Skrell character that actually had that as part of their backstory. And now, I don't like it because of what it is, but because it's something I havent seen used IC before). The character sounds like someone that might have some interesting interactions with certain synthetics as well (I'm thinking of Centurion, IAM, and Katana here), with the noted search for scientific mysteries.
  21. I like the backstory so far; though the ending could use a little work. Something that might help you out a bit is answering this question: What caused Anand to go from his minesweeping/trap searching role to working aboard NanoTrasen vessels as a janitor and cargo technician? I honestly don't think I've seen any of the characters listed that you play, but I'll be sure to be keeping a look out when I am online to get a feel for how you play.
  22. Alright so there's two things that are making me hesitant about this application 1 - I have never seen any of your characters before, I have no idea what kinds of characters you can develop and play out on station or how you play on station. I spent a good month or so iirc playing my two human characters before posting a whitelist app, so maybe I'm just a bit biased in wanting others to go through the same effort. 2 - And this is the big one... Vin'drahl. Tbh, I am very VERY hesitant about the prospect of having another Attimus on station or any characters similar to him. Yes, he's made that bad of a name for the clan in my eyes. I am aware you said Sia's not the aggressive type, but it's still a red flag for me. If I can see you in action playing other characters on station for a bit, I might be able to have more positive things to say. The app itself does look good to me, though. But, until I can see you in action, I can't comfortably give a +1 vote to this.
  23. I do like what he was doing as an antag AI up to that point, and I wouldn't have had a problem with the carp if it was just one or two spawns from the holodeck. But they continued to be spawned, with huge waves of them coming out. I think I saw 7 or 8 carp chasing after Nasir while another group were trying to get through the bar doors (Which, when opened, was a death sentence for everyone inside). It was just a little /too/ much, considering it's AI driven kill-everything-in-sight mobs
  24. Have you played any characters? I don't recall seeing your ckey before
  25. Here, this might help you as well: http://bts.sierrabrown.me/secret-aurora-scripts/aurora_dofaxformat.php It's what the DO's use for generating our fax formats. After you submit it, use the /right/ box for your forms, as when you're writing on paper it uses bbcode. The HTML version is because our CC report verb uses html instead.
