  1. I haven't had any bad experiences with Owen or his characters, and he seems to have a good attitude for a moderator. +1
  2. TO: Corwin Beckett, Head of Security, NSS Aurora FROM: CCIAA Adrian Dawes, NTCC Odin SUBJECT: RE: Incident Report -------------------- BODY: The investigation of this incident has concluded, and appropriate action has been taken for affected individuals. This matter will now be considered resolved. -------------------- DTG: 10-17:50-TAU CETI STANDARD-05-2462 SIGN: A. Dawes
  3. I made a fair few changes to xenoarchaeology for quality of life things (remapping, removal of dud artifacts) etc, but the code is a serious mess. It's old and I could barely understand how it works. It would probably require a skilled coder to make some changes to it, though this is the opinion of someone who is entirely unfamiliar with BYOND code.

  5. I don't know what you're expecting me to tell you here. I've given my opinion on it- yours differs.
  6. I hate to be this guy, but I really dislike this. It feels far too dark and industiral- I feel like I am on Baystation rather than Aurora. This does not feel like some corporate research station, it feels like a military vessel. It seems very drab and bland to me. Additional, the white tiles seem very blurry to me, which messes with my eyes a lot. It also doesn't mesh well with the current airlocks, which looks pretty bad to me. I know that our previous sprites were quite old, but as far as my opinion goes, they were already good, and didn't need changing.
  7. comrade hadii has no room in his heart for conscientious objectors, comrade otherwise shestrying is a good rper, +1
  8. CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: Leudoberct Character names: https://gyazo.com/772c8cd9cd91ee8d3ea9e7fe852a777a Age: 19 Timezone: GMT/BST What times are you most available?: Mostly from 5PM onwards. Experience How long have you played SS13?: A good few years. I don’t remember how many, but definitely more than 3. How long have you played on Aurora?: I think I’ve been around for a year and a half now? How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? I am active on the forums when I have a need to be, and I’m fairly active on discord. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Never been banned. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: No. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: After playing Command for a fair few rounds, and learning about the fax system, my interest was piqued. I wanted to be able to be the person who could reply to faxes to help provide a sense of connectivity to the world outside of the Aurora. As for the handling of Incident Reports, I’m also interested in this. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: I would say that the most important qualities would be impartiality, and a sense of restraint on an OOC level. In terms of impartiality, CCIA are able to render lasting punishments on characters that could have a major impact on the player of said characters ability to play them, such as suspending a character for a span of time. Due to having this power over other peoples characters, it’s important to make sure that all judgements are made fairly and without bias, so that people are not having their characters unjustly affected. Furthermore, on the topic of restraint, I mean this in the way of understanding when to hold back on an OOC level. An example of what I mean by this is, if Command staff fax the CCIA with an issue, it’s important to understand that while yes, dumping an ERT on the situation would likely be the best way to resolve it, it would also completely ruin the gimmick of the antagonists present in the round, and thus it is important for a CCIA player to know to hold back. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: A CCIA agent is expected to answer faxes sent from the station in order to help provide guidance and instruction in a round. This includes responses to situation reports, which is likely the most common type of fax a CCIA agent would have to answer, which typically involves antagonists. In addition to this, a CCIA agent may also be required to board the station during a round to handle interviews for an Incident Report. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: The purpose of a CCIA agent outside of the server and ongoing rounds is to act almost like a moderator, but in an IC capacity. While an admin would handle OOC issues such as breaking of the server rules, CCIA are there to moderate the activity of characters in order to help proliferate character development and deal with conflict between characters. How do you handle stress?: It’s pretty rare for me to get majorly stressed out by something. I tend to handle it pretty well. How well do you work autonomously?: So long as it’s made clear what I need to be doing, I would say I can work on my own fairly well. I may require some guidance in the beginning, but after that, I should be good to go. Additional Notes: N/A
  9. Skyglazer has proven that he's capable of portraying realistic characters of differing personalities and goals. I have full confidence in this application. +1
  10. 1. S'randmarr. 2. He has a profound dislike for the Njarir'akhran, excluding the Hadii dynasty. He has developed a mild dislike for the Zhan-Khazan after the assassination of Al'Mari Hadii. 3. He believes that Malik Hadii is making difficult but necessary choices to avenge and protect the legacy of Al'Mari Hadii, and that it is a good thing. 4. No, because he believes that a tesla augment would have meant he would be unable to continue in the Ha'narr due to the electricity produced by such augments. As for the colour, I already know. I just like the colour shown on the wiki.
  11. BYOND Key: Leudoberct Character Names: https://gyazo.com/9a0da6675bd5dea40bc9c049cd7b82e8 Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: 192, 192, 192 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: My interest in playing a Tajara started due to the currently ongoing arc for them. I didn’t really have much interest in playing them at the time due to finding other races more interesting, but now that I’ve had the time to get to know and play all of the other races, I figured that along with the ongoing Tajaran arc, now was a good time to learn. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Asides from the obvious physical differences between Tajara and Humans, their history and culture are starkly different to that of humans. While humans paved their own path to the Space Age, the Tajara were come across by the humans while still in a burgeoning Industrial era. This created a large culture shock as the highly advanced technology of space-faring races was introduced to the Tajara. The interference of these aliens then sparked a civil war that had consumed all of Adhomai for almost a decade. Tajara will likely have significant allegiance to one of three major powers on Adhomai, as well as likely still holding on to traditionalist values. Character Name: Nasirsanukii Jrruzhani Please provide a short backstory for this character Born in the rural countryside close to Nal’tor in 2433, Nasirsanukii spent much of his early childhood hunting alongside his father in the countryside, honing his skills as both a hunter, and his agility, finding that it came naturally to him, owing to his M’sai physiology. After an accident while hunting leaving his father seriously injured during a blizzard, Nasiranukii tended to his father as best he could, keeping him alive throughout the snowstorm. After returning to his village with his father to much celebration, Nasirsanukii practised further in the medical arts, providing simple remedies for his fellow villagers when able. At the young age of eighteen, he learned of the assassination of President Al’mari Hadii, and answered the call to arms after the failed coup of Halkiikijr Nated’Hakhan, enlisting in the Grand People’s Army. His talent for moving unseen in the snowy wilds of Adhomai landed him a position in the Ha’narr Corps, and his talent for healing was bolstered by training as a combat medic. During a skirmish in the wilds during the war, a stray round caught Nasirsanukii in the leg, leaving him crippled and unable to walk without a pronounced limp and the aid of a cane. No longer fit for service, he was unable to continue to participate in the war, with his limp unable to be corrected without an advanced surgical procedure unable on Adhomai. In his desperation to return to the frontlines, Nasirsanukii sought out a NanoTrasen representative to try to pay for his treatment. Unable to pay the hefty bill, and after a recommendation from the liaison and conferring with his superiors, Nasirsanukii took a five year contract with NanoTrasen in order to pay for the surgery to fix his leg. Having received the surgery, Nasirsanukii was assigned to the NSS Aurora II. Despite having receiving the surgery, his contract left him unable to return to Adhomai. News of the Treaty of Shastar reached him, and he at first despaired, feeling as if he had failed Hadii in returning to the fight. But, he soon regained his conviction, and resolved himself to finish his contract and return to Adhomai with all due haste to secure the assets of the People’s Republic. What do you like about this character? I like this character due to them having a vested interest in the civil war (until it ended), alongside their dedication to the party, providing a natural way for conflict to occur between them and opposing Tajara. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would say that I am a competent roleplayer capable of portraying multiple alien species to a believable and good standard. Notes: N/A
  12. Just to clarify, the Ta does live on Tau Ceti, but they live on Luthien, the home of their brood, which doesn't have a significant human or otherwise presence asides from research labs, and thus will have spent almost all of their time around their own brood, rather than with aliens, giving a rather secluded experience. As for the experience of interacting with humans, I believe they will be slightly taken aback, but expectant of poor treatment, based on the treatment of the brood of their own (new) High Queen in District Nine. This won't really affect them much in terms of an emotional response, however. The brood they originate from doesn't really care that much for humans or other aliens- the Ta'Akaix is there to further the ends of their Hive, not to make friends. As for availability, Monday tomorrow would be perfect for me, as I work on the weekends.
  13. Personally, I prefer the sprites from Brainos.
  14. Unfortunately, this will not have been me, as I do not have the whitelist or a trial at the minute.
  15. I don't see any real issues with the character presented in the app, and I think it's pretty interesting to see someone apping with a Bound instead of an Unbound. Cnaym has also shown themselves to be a competent roleplayer with a strong grasp on how to portray characters of varying species and backgrounds. +1
