The appeal in question was denied on the standing policy found here which has not been touched since the start of the year if not longer. For ban itself, it was applied in seven days from the unban due to two warnings, a note, and then the final occurrence listed above in that time frame for poor play/conduct. As you had already been permanently ban, temporary bans would not have been appropriate. With that stated, an appeal was properly made by rawmoddles here for the review of whichever admin takes this complaint. Feel free to ping me with any other questions.

I'm sorry but two permanent bans are no longer appealable. When you were unbanned, you agreed to having read the rules in it's entirely. During this time, within seven days of your previous unban. you were warned several times as well as noted on issues you had been spoken to in the past by staff. You will need to make a staff complaint on the decision if you disagree.
-
Not every note/record is visible to players. Yes your bans were 5 years ago, however your unban was was only 5 months ago at the time. I don't have too much else to add so I will leave it at that unless the handling staff has any other questions.

This decision was reached in conjunction with your player complaint at the same time. While I understand that both of your bans were old, the reality is you had been only recently unbanned five months ago. During this time, you were warned once already and then noted for poor play/ic interactions several times. Spending time observing your play during a few rounds, as well as reviewing the evidence brought forth in the player complaint of poor IC interactions, ooc jokes flavoured into IC jokes, as well as unrealistic self-harm, it was evident you were not quite getting it. On top of this, during these observations, it was noted you were playing a completely competent surgical resident, which is a learner roll and berating/harassing your superiors as well. In your complaint you argued this kind of behaviour is because of the term "resident" which, if applying a modern day's logic may be a doctor in their final residency, would not excuse this kind of behaviour and your character would have been ejected from any residency program quite quickly and more than a fair bit self-antagonistic which you have been banned for multiple times in the past. Ignoring this, it's power-gaming. Just as we don't allow commando cadets, playing a completely competent surgeon and then extending that knowledge into other fields of medical play as a learner role which you had your character in for far too long simply wasn't acceptable. At the end of the day, @ReadThisNamePlz and I reached this decision when viewing the totality of the situation and your history. I understand the bans are old, it does not negate them. When you appeal your bans, you are signing off that you understand the rules in their totality. Reasonable mistakes are one thing, but this was a pattern that was clearly identified. And as the escalation from a ban is to re-apply the ban, that is how we reached the conclusion that we did.

Character Complaint - Oliver Neely
Bear replied to CourierBravo's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Having spent some time on this we have decided there is not enough here to warrant calling a character LRP. I'd advise to take it easy on the semi-memey behaviour and remember that you are in a setting where your character is in public and at work. While some of these shenanigans may be amusing few would be willing to go that far in a corporate setting. Beyond that, it is always advised to ahelp these issues in round regardless of what your char may be up to so that the entire context can be looked at by staff. Unless there is anything else I will be locking and closing this complaint at the end of tomorrow. -
After taking some time to sit on this and review everything I will be denying this ban appeal. You have around 10 entries regarding powergaming in medical, overstepping in multiple medical roles, as well as a previous medical role ban for First Responder. While I believe you are sincere and well intentioned, I do not believe enough time has sat for you this to truly sink in as all of these entries that I am referencing are only withing the last 10ish months. I understand you are only trying to help and 'save' characters in these situations, but getting caught up in the moment like this, even when well-intentioned is power gaming as well as stepping on/crushing other players' rounds. This ban enforces that, but also shields you from continued escalation of punishment as the next steps are account bans. You are free to re-appeal in a few months. Try taking time to play some other roles, and work on balancing a slower pace and self-limiting playstyle.

Implement A Formal First Contact Protocol to SOP
Bear replied to Zelmana's topic in Policy Suggestions
I do not wish to constrict command staff in this way with a formal protocol. Command should approach it carefully and with tact. Beyond that, the creativity is best left to the round and the unique situation the antag crafts vs having to ic rules lawyer the best direction. Voting for dismissal. -
Alright well with that in mind a warning was issued due to the behaviour listed above and the matter will be considered closed if no one else has anything to say in 24 hours.

@Mukosuand Can you give me some insight/explanation here?

Player Complaint - Fluffyghost

After taking some time to review the complaint and rationale given by all parties. We've decided that this situation was not okay and violated several server rules. I'll explain a few things for the rationale we used in our conclusion: -As under-equipped, and under manned jungle pirates. Taking on the KAF outpost is not a sane decision. It is also something we are not okay with on the OOC level, which will also be enforced just as any other ghost role raiding unspawned 3rd parties that have not spawned. It discourages other players from joining the roles knowing their base has been raided with nothing they can do about it. From the IC standpoint, they are better equipped, better trained, and better positioned then you are. It's not logical or sane to think this fight would end in your favour and is rather suicidal. -Moving to Point Verdant. Trying to sell the weaponry in itself isn't a big deal. On a whole, I wasn't as much of a fan of the 5-cheung turning on you so quickly at least as the situation was described but that isn't something we're that interested in. We are, however, not okay with what happened when dealing with the police. Self-preservation is still applicable to all ghost roles along with the other character expectations and rules. After escaping, gearing up in combat armor with automatic weapons to stealthily raid a police station is by default self antagging, suicidal/without preservation, and a bit power gamey. You are in one of the most populated cities that is safe on Konyang. Assuming the police station would be empty because you have only seen the police superintendent doesn't make much sense. While server population may be low, and ghost roles are not actively taken. You should ALWAYS assume they are when dealing with how your character would approach this situation. Because of this, action will be applied to involved parties who will be notified over discord of the outcome, and the complaint will be closed and locked in 24 hours unless there is anything else.

@hollyhock I've heard a lot of your ghost spawner partner's opinions on why the actions they took. But I would like to know if you have anything else to add or say about the situation as for why you guys took the steps you did.

The CCIA was mentioned at several points here so I've been asked to give some clarification on the investigation that occurred as the head of the CCIA. The investigation, in question, was regarding a harassment claim between a group of characters pertaining to inappropriate workplace conduct. Which can be found here: I was approached in DM's by Melariara to drop the IR sometime after. However, after deliberations with my team, we decided this was not a situation that any HR department would let go without a modicum of investigation due to the nature of it due to it involving multiple people and having sexual undertones with the harassment for the reporting parties' preferences and lifestyle. Melariara had no influence on this decision or part of it, as she was involved. With this in mind, we utilized our authority as CCIA to pursue the IR without the consent of either party, which remains a function of ours. I hope this helps clarify the CCIA's part in this, which is minor to the entire discussion, but still relevant. Feel free to let me know if there are any questions.

After reviewing the evidence, I have resolved this player complaint. The matter is handled and we will reach out on discord.
-
After some deliberations with the CCIA Liaisons, I have opted to bin this IR. Involved players have been spoken to. The incident is retconned.
-
After taking some time to read through is all I have some thoughts, but I would like to hear from @tomatik first. Tomatik can you take a moment to read through this complaint and comment on the points that are being raised? I will have some questions for you after this.

I will be taking this complaint along with @ReadThisNamePlz. I'll be taking some time to read through the complaint and have questions to follow.

Arrest Reports must only be filed by ghostrole Konyang National Police personnel. Arrest Reports must strictly be in IC format. Arrest Reports must be made using the format provided below. Incident Reports may only be submitted against regular station characters. Incident Reports may not be submitted against antagonists or situations heavily regulated by antag action. NJP's won't become a thing. Reassignments will only happen through a Captain or CCIA. Punishments must be spelled out for a multitude of reasons. I won't pursue the lobotomy route either. Being borged gives the now deceased antag the decision to either play the borg or die in which case they can wait out or ahelp for a respawn and simply join as a new character. I am still open to an alternative punishment idea but do not see a viable one at this time that would be suitable. The idea is solid @Evandorf to find an alternative, and if you come up with another one feel free to run it by me at any time as I would be fine with allowing a third alternative to HuT and Borg/Maroon for the non violent serious crimes. Until one is discovered, however I am also voting for dismissal. -1
-
Lobotomies and borgings are essentially the same thing though one looks worse on paper then the other to a small extent. It doesn't really fix the issue. L.I.'s would but I don't see them coming back any time soon. So I am not sure there is a good middle-man option for antags. Unfortunately any punishment that ends up with cyborgification is typically an incredibly hostile act that resulted in someone's death or near death save for mutiny or kidnapping. So The other thing is I don't see any third option changing most regulations beyond things like mutiny and kidnapping.
-
I understand that, however, it doesn't absolve the need of the announcements to conform to the expectations of standards for antagonist play and the rules. That is all the input I have for now, until the complaint is addressed.
-
This is true, and while I find having a shock collar button funny, IDK how in line it would be with the setting for the corporations. I'm open to the discussion though as a third more permanent punishment besides HUT or Borging/Marooning for the crimes that are severe but also aren't "You killed someone." or were a terrorist. Regulations are easy to rework. The question is what are the options of this third "restraint" punishment and what is the most logical response based on that. A lot of crimes that aren't violent could easily be reworked into being offered a deal with the devil. I'd like to get some more input though on this specifically from the lore side @Triogenix and @La Villa Strangiato and the head maintainers/devs @Arrow768 and @MattAtlas as any game additions is the head devs realm before it reaches mine.
