NJP's won't become a thing. Reassignments will only happen through a Captain or CCIA. Punishments must be spelled out for a multitude of reasons. I won't pursue the lobotomy route either. Being borged gives the now deceased antag the decision to either play the borg or die in which case they can wait out or ahelp for a respawn and simply join as a new character. I am still open to an alternative punishment idea but do not see a viable one at this time that would be suitable. The idea is solid @Evandorf to find an alternative, and if you come up with another one feel free to run it by me at any time as I would be fine with allowing a third alternative to HuT and Borg/Maroon for the non violent serious crimes. Until one is discovered, however I am also voting for dismissal. -1

Lobotomies and borgings are essentially the same thing though one looks worse on paper then the other to a small extent. It doesn't really fix the issue. L.I.'s would but I don't see them coming back any time soon. So I am not sure there is a good middle-man option for antags. Unfortunately any punishment that ends up with cyborgification is typically an incredibly hostile act that resulted in someone's death or near death save for mutiny or kidnapping. So The other thing is I don't see any third option changing most regulations beyond things like mutiny and kidnapping.

I understand that, however, it doesn't absolve the need of the announcements to conform to the expectations of standards for antagonist play and the rules. That is all the input I have for now, until the complaint is addressed.

This is true, and while I find having a shock collar button funny, IDK how in line it would be with the setting for the corporations. I'm open to the discussion though as a third more permanent punishment besides HUT or Borging/Marooning for the crimes that are severe but also aren't "You killed someone." or were a terrorist. Regulations are easy to rework. The question is what are the options of this third "restraint" punishment and what is the most logical response based on that. A lot of crimes that aren't violent could easily be reworked into being offered a deal with the devil. I'd like to get some more input though on this specifically from the lore side @Triogenix and @La Villa Strangiato and the head maintainers/devs @Arrow768 and @MattAtlas as any game additions is the head devs realm before it reaches mine.

This is essentially just a resprited loyalty implant. A shock collar is a bit too on the nose, so I don't see that really fitting our setting as if they're at the point they require such heavy subjugation, its simply more valuable to remove their brain. I'd be amenable to something like a L.I. were it re-added, however.

Hi there, I stand by my decision by the utilization of an announcement tool to order command to kill a skrell and zeng-hu employees was not acceptable antagonist play. This kind of gimmick is both LRP and falls under improper escalation. Even if your intent was for it to be obviously fake, it still has to follow these guidelines. The rules may not comprehensively cover every single scenario, they are kept brief with the spirit of the gameplay in mind. From the rules: From the discord announcements per Readthisname: I'm sorry the interaction over our last few tickets have not gone as you hoped. I did explain in the first three minutes of the ticket that gimmicks need to be believable, drive a story, and follow proper escalation, and then again within the first 12. I left the ticket open to provide a line of dialogue if you had more questions or needed clarification on the rules in good faith.

You IC'ly called your management incompetent multiple times, drunks, and using the vessel's and company's policies to further their own personal bad habits in a canon missive. I do not know what you expected beyond further IC punishment when we went for the lighter initial punishment for your behaviour in your IR (suspension was in your original potential punishments) due to your otherwise only mild record. The only other real option is termination from your position and people are fired for far less in the real world. The additional CCIA causes more trouble than it fixes line is not needed.

TO: Karl Voigt, Janitor, SCCV Horizon FROM: Human Resources, AMS, NTCC Odin SUBJECT: RE: 1/06/2024 - APPEAL -------------------- BODY: Thank you for submitting an appeal regarding standing actions against your employee profile. We have forward this to the SCCIA department for further review, below is their reply: This report was altogether disturbing for a member of command on our flag vessel. The explosive conduct, scathing insults, and sheer audacity does not give us confidence that this employee is fit for service in a critical role. The lack of foresight in handling a ruling that may not be agreed with does not suggest the proper critical thinking required for the role. Furthermore, this letter is not in compliance with SCC workplace conduct roles and would be liable for slanderous accusations against the employee's superiors. Karl Voigt will be demoted and transferred to Idris Incorporated for Janitorial duties effective immediately for the foreseeable future and will be contacted by the Idris Internal Affairs team for aligning a customer service training event that will occur in the near future. This may be appealed in one month with demonstrated good conduct. Take this time to reflect on what material is appropriate to submit to your management and oversight departments and please re-familiarize with SCC conduct expectations. -------------------- DTG: 26-15:45-TAU CETI STANDARD-01-2466 SIGN: AMS

Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: abigbear Character Name(s): (too many too list) some currents/iconics include: Kastyvir Mensah'ral, Farkal Aasidra, Mikolaj Talmarfaiiq, Raajjurl Al-Thalziir, Wayne Dewey, Ebele Mambwe, Joliba Kasongo, Ra'Akaix'Yinzi C'thur, IRU-Adrian, Asoesse Onossa'i, Sia'osi Osihak, Kaipo Zu'koro, Yeshuiin Jroboq-Omrishi, and many more. AI Name(s): I do not play AI Discord username + tag: Bear, bear0117 Age: 30 (that hurts to write) Timezone: American Central When are you on Aurora?: Varies, typically American afternoon/evening time range. Experience How long have you played SS13?: since 2019 (aka too long) How long have you played on Aurora: since 2019 How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I am familiar with all the roles of the game. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Not for ss13 Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: yes, yes Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No. I have only received warnings and fair amount of notes as I've grown up as what is known as a "roleplayer". Personality Why do you play SS13?: I was introduced to ss13 by several friends some years ago now, It has been a game that has lived in my head rent free since due to its unique game play, interaction with individuals, and avenue of fun. Why do you play on Aurora?: I was brought to Aurora by the same group of friends and have been hooked ever since. It's RP, community, and atmosphere are quite unlike any other forms of rp communities that I have encountered prior and all pale in comparison. I have grown a lot in storytelling, writing, and character development here and it has served as an infinite amount of entertainment through the years. What do moderators do?: OOC moderation, in the pleasant and unpleasant manners. Moderators maintain the server expectations to ensure the server remains a hospitable and welcoming environment for players where the rules are followed and the server remains enjoyable for the community. Moderators guide and assist new players in learning the server, expectations, and how to develop here as well. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Being a Moderator means taking the additional responsibility to not only enforce 'the rules' and do the tasks listed above such as helping new players, but also to be an example of these things as well. You are holding yourself to a higher standard to help keep yourself and others accountable and to be what we want this server to be and represent these ideas. Why do you want to be a moderator?: For several reasons, first and foremost I am applying for this role to help bridge the gap and manage the new multi-role availability for CCIA. I have constructed several guidelines, but would like to iron them out to ensure adequate IC and OOC separation remains as well as expectations for multi role agents. However, I have always expressed interest in becoming a moderator, and a majority of that comes down to "I want to". I want to help keep the server clean and presentable, Help share the burden of caretaking the community. And to give back to the server on a whole. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I like to think I am an easy to engage and approachable player. I am very level headed and analytical when it comes to harder topics. I'm not afraid or above to admit I am wrong in a situation and remain open to dialogue during disagreements or confusion, to a reasonable extent, to ensure all parties are up to speed as I have had to do for many instances with the CCIA. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: These things rarely get me, in recent days, and having kids has further forced me to mellow lol. Though I am not a perfect person and have had my fair share of "gamer moments" on Aurora. I try not to look too far back into previous years, though I have had a chuckle with some members when the instances do come up. I have grown a lot here. Anything Else You Want to Add:

Read has been essential for my team in developing our events, coordinating sprite work (as well as doing some amazing sprite work of her own) with other volunteer spriters, and test running things for us. She would be a valuable asset to the team as she already is with CCIA and administration. A very easy +1

Hi, I was mentioned. No I wasn't mad, do not worry. I piped up in ooc as the optics wasn't great for a moderator to be essentially fortnite default dancing and dropping L's on a situation that there was likely those who were upset after getting their shit rocked by the Vaurca Crew after security kicked the literal hornets' nest and got their shit kicked in for it and lol (they took a huge L). I have had a history of wilding a bit myself in my younger years, and simply wished to avoid an incident before one occurred. Sportsmanship goes a long way, you know?

Feedback for Command Remap (Not bridge).
Bear replied to ReadThisNamePlz's topic in Completed Projects
I see it as a good change. More streamlined. While I appreciate the current bridge, it suffers from a lot of dead space in it that is otherwise for the most part unused. I do like seeing the bridge de-coupled from telecomms for a lot of reasons. Both ship to ship combat, antags, and much more. Think elevation to two consulars/reps is a decent idea. They will need to behave or they will be yeeted if they're caught messing with other reps/consulars which would be my end but that's common sense. Decent remap, thanks!
