ReadThisNamePlz - Human Lore Deputy
Bear replied to ReadThisNamePlz's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Read is a long-time admin, event hoster, map maker, and player. Their characters are interesting and not afraid to add a bit of dynamic to the scenarios at large. I think they would be a good candidate for the team and it would be interesting to see what they could bring to spruce up an already robust human lore. +1 and good luck. -
Not really. The Intrepid being yoinked at roundstart by a xenoarch doens't really help others who may want to organize an expedition, go to a different location such as a relay or a wreckage, and so on. It still creates conflict of interests. It would simply be better for xenoarch to have it's own independent shuttle much like mining.

Remove Borging as a Punishment and change "execution" guidelines
Bear replied to N8-Toe's topic in Rejected Policy
This. There is little I can add that Ramke or Arrow have not already. There is no need to remove borging. If it is not your preferred method of punishment, we have now have marooning available as well. -
I have to echo this, especially on the motion sickness.

William Murdoch has competed their trial. The number of IR's was reduced to 2 due to the large number of trials and demonstration of understanding the CCIA process. -
Reporting Personnel: Wayne Dewey Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Corporate Representative Game ID: coX-dC2E Personnel Involved: -Casey Wildkins, Operations Manager, Offender -Keala Nalika, Hangar Technician, Offender -Kusuer Bloodclaw, Hangar Technician, Offender -Sophia Cynthai, Captain, Offender Secondary Witnesses: Time of Incident: 2330, 7/24/2465 Real Time: Entire Shift/NA 1900-2100 EST. 7/24/2023 Location of Incident: Operations, General halls, SCCV Horizon Nature of Incident: [X] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [X] - Neglect of Duty [X] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [X] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: Durinig the shift, an unathi by the name 'bloodclaw' who is a self-proclaimed 'ex-unathi pirate', was spotted in the general crew hallways near medical with a battle-axe. This was an obvious issue, due to their history, and thus I reported a guwan in the hallways with an axe. I may have confused my Unathi history here, as I assumed all Unathi Pirates were simply Guwan as 'bloodclaw' is clearly not an Unathi clan name, but rather an adopted name. And this seemed to cause great offense to the command team present. There was a small debate about whether or not pirates and guwan were equivalent, and the captain along with the operations manager on shift opted to shut the conversation down rather than handle the unathi with contraband. Shortly after, Keala Nalika randomly opened a chat client with myself telling me to 'shut up' as can be referenced in the chat server. Afterwards, Mister Bloodclaw was granted access to the command channel and proceeded to start saying he heard some 'idris wanker' was complaining about him. When I asked the operations manager to handle her staff, she simply said she was 'not their mother' and didn't know what I wanted her to do. The captain, rather than addressing any of this including the breach of a secure command channel, she simply instructed Bloodclaw to say this in person to myself instead of the command channel, direct quotes can be gathered from communication logs. Bloodclaw was once again spotted with the battle-axe in the hallway, and I reported this issue once again. The operations manager simply told me my eyes were mistaken and no action was taken to handle her staff by the Operations Manager. Later, she began to complain about another employee with contraband and thus I pointed out her Unathi was still armed in the halls as she was I was simply informed I was not the person she was talking to signifying at this point it was a willful disregard for regulation. Not too long after that, I spotted Mr. Bloodclaw with the weapon and took a photo for documentation. Mister Nalika found me shortly after and began demanding I surrender the photo to him. Thankfully I carry a locked briefcase, and when I informed him that he should simply keep walking, Mr. Nalika took it upon himself to inform me that I should kill myself. This was thankfully caught on recording. I reported this on the command channel once again and tried to have Miss Wildkins handle her staff, but she simply told me she was 'too busy hiding in the tunnels and was too busy with other issues' after a radiation storm that had passed some minutes prior. At this point the shift was ending and I informed the command team I would be escalating this issue. No response or attempt to reconcile was offered, and only after did I note the security team moving to try and detain bloodclaw and that the weapon had been quickly abandoned haphazardly in the operations lobby, on the floor, in clear reach of most personnel with access. At this point the captain finally questioned if Bloodclaw's axe had been removed, to which Wildkins replied, "No, because no one had told her to." This is highly concerning as command members are not only meant to be versed in corporate regulations but uphold them as well within their departments in which they are trusted to run. I would give clemency to the Security team as they were in fact preoccupied with other unrelated security issues and are not to blame. But this conduct by the operations team and command staff is incredibly unbecoming and should be rectified quickly to ensure compliance with our SCC guidelines. Submitted Evidence: Photo x2, Transcript, Faxed Document Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [ ] - Yes [X] - No (Not unless necessary) Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: The Operations Manager and Captain were made well aware through the shift of the issues and opted to simply take no interest. I understand this was a busy shift with "other issues", and the Captain's attention was likely drawn to multiple places. But the fact they opted not to take any intervention or interest in the proceedings for an entire shift, offer any form of apology, and encourage her staff to further issues in person with corporate representatives is rather poor form. Actions taken: None. Once all unrelated security incidents were handled, the security team did finally begin to make their way to detain Bloodclaw, however the shift change occured. Additional Notes:

This is already covered under neglect of duty. For more serious issues such as flying the ship or a surgeon trying to operate while impaired, it would be covered under gross negligence. -

Borya has completed his CCIA trial. Accepted. -
Hi there, thank you for taking my advice to make the staff complaint and do not worry, neither I or Sycmos would see such things as a bad thing. Staff complaints are a very important process in our system to help against unfair or perhaps incorrect judgements. if I am honest I believe this is a better way to do this in general for terminated characters. The policy change was spurred by your character, though it was not because of your character specifically. After consulting the CCIA team as well as the former CCIA lead, this change's support was almost unanimous. In the end, while many real life corporations have appeals as well as governmental appeals to combat wrongful terminations, we have to remember that we are in a corporate dystopia where being fired from a megacorporation is financial ruin and rather permanent. I will let @Sycmos explain their rationale on the why your character was terminated, though when pulling your character's history, I will be honest when I say I would have upheld the decision personally.

[ACCEPTED] Ratajani stole Bear's Bone Marrow (Skrell WL APP)
Bear replied to Bear's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Hi thanks for the feedback! I have updated my background with the rationale below. The Work Initiative Prorgramme blip was removed and replaced to simple application to Zeng Hu. As for the Qrri'Myaq, you raise a good point, I removed that entirely because I suppose it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense when you critically think about the original Quya's low social credit score, and they likely would have simply had a new mentor assigned. I had misinterpreted the blip below, putting a bit more importance on the bond and not really factoring that the Qrri'Myaq could change if necessary for the child. -
BYOND Key: abigbear (A_Big_Bear) Character Names: I remain close to 30/30, but some recent ones include: Mikolaj Tamlarfaiiq, Ra'Akaix'Yinzi C'thur, Assoesse Onossa'i, Rajjurl Al-Thaalzir, Ebele Mambwe, and Joliba Kasongo Species you are applying to play: Skrell (Ratajani), Axiori What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Purple Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: It took me a while, but yes. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Skrell offer a unique style of xeno play in comparison to the rest of the other WL species. From the psionic influence to a hyper advanced totalitarian state struggling between control and utilitarianism at any cost is incredibly fascinating to me. I have watched many skrell reworks over the years, but I have sat one particular concept throughout this entire time that I hope others will find engaging. It will not be my usual style of loud character, but I am hoping it can be an impactful one for unique experiences. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Skrell are an amphibious and cold-blooded race that appear incredibly different from humans. With short and diminutive statures to potentially almost see through skin and black void filled eyes, it can paint a strikingly different picture. But the physiological differences really only scratch the surface of the differences, instead, they truly shine on the differences within. A powerful psionic race with lifespans spanning centuries, their entire perception of time and scope of planning is inanely different in it's own. Connected together in planetary wake bubbles within the Nlom as well as planetary dream bubbles within the Srom, they find themselves ever present in one another which is incredibly unique to me, Character Name: Yeshuiin Jroboq-Ormishi Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs) The year was 2207, in the city of Qerr'wesi when Yeshuiin was born from an Axiorii Quya of lower secondary citizens in the Nralakk Federation. Yeshuiin, would not come to know them well however, as their troubled status teetering above the threshold of a tertiary social credit score saw the psionically slightly gifted child relocated, to a home of high secondary citizens unable to produce on their own. A receiver, in nature, Yeshuiin would find themselves always bordering the risk of becoming an oversleeper and would struggle for a time to find the right set of motivations and healthy lifestyles to overcome this as a young Skrell, to ensure they grew into a fully functioning member of society. As the years progressed, Yeshuiin's Quya would place heavy emphasis on academics, especially as Qeblak practitioners. These beliefs would have a profound impact on Yeshuin and so education and higher learning served to be the cornerstones of their life. As an empathetic individual, Yeshuiin would find themselves drawn to the appeal of healthcare and medicine perhaps in part to the guidance of modules and education during their time in Untuk'mak. At the age of 53, Yeshuiin began their first degree in biology at their Uyi’vesi, taking approximately nine years to complete it, before turning to specialize further with their next degrees in Medicine and then finally, Psychiatry as their qu'vesi. Something which became their true passion. Now in their early eighties, with the world at their fingertips, Yeshuiin began their work as a licensed practitioner for Ziip’Ta Medicinal, and continued so for over a century as they built their status, met a Qu'Poxii named Ormishi. A friend, a rival, and eventually a lover they grew together and formed a Quya of their own. During this time, Yeshuiin was able to produce one viable egg as the F'ex'Qa for their Quya, from which a child Ylana, rose. There was a deep-rooted joy for Yeshuiin in this time of their life, as their Quya grew and shifted over the years, and their child was raised and given to the Nralakk system to which they followed the path carefully constructed for them, and Yeshuiin took great in being their offsprings Qraa'Myaq, while Ormishi dedicated themselves to being Ylana's Qrri'Myaq. The stars, however, do not hold still and as their child rose through depth colleges on their own and moved to set out to find their own path in the stars Yeshuiin's quya also changed with it. Much had changed over the years, as Humanity was finally contacted along with the Diona, and the Vaurca came to be leading some to even join their Federation. As an empathetic individual by nature, Symbiosism was a natural school of thought for Yeshuiin. Pitying those who left or disfavoured the Federation, they looked to the government in hopes that resolution could be found in the coming decades to welcome all Skrell back within the folds of the Nralakk where they truly belonged. This would take time however, and keen interest was given instead to the many species becoming known across the Spur often expanding on their own knowledge and the knowledge by participating in some of the delicate research of their biology and psyche. Specifically focusing on the non-psionic species and their interaction with the Srom, Yeshuiin focused much of their advance treatment research on sessions to consenting volunteers. This of course, was dangerous and not without setbacks and unintentional injuries and thus was only a small portion of their practice over the decades. Applying to Zeng-Hu in the year 2460 at the behest of their Qu'Poxii, Yeshuiin found themselves unsurprisingly now in the service of Zeng-Hu. Ormisi had expressed interest in Europa from the start of it's discovery, and Yeshuiin's work with the new fledgling entities had served as stepping stool to move into this new and exciting world. Their Social Credit Score had never been higher, with a rating of 6.41, and their hopes were rather high for this new endeavour. Staying within Korormansk Station, personally, Yeshuiin began their work of examining and treating patients who had been exposed to the harsh conditions of Europa and had been taxed by it's effects. Yeshuiin, however, was not prepared for Ormishi to become one of the many who had become afflicted with Europan Sea-Blindness. Its onset was sudden, after Ormishi's vessel had dived too deep and encountered rather aggressive fauna causing severe dementia to the point their health deteriorated despite the best care available only four years later. Emotionally taxed from the demise of someone so close to them, and unable to continue their work on Europa, Yeshuiin debated returning to Nralakk having never felt so alone in over a century. The thought, however, was too much to bear and they were not ready to return home. They wondered if this was how the many skrell born outside of the Federation felt, or those who had voluntarily left it behind. A concept they found alarming and likely unhealthy to collective whole. Recent events in the former Sol territories only served to cause grief further, and Yeshuiin wondered how the many skrell that had been slaughtered by warlording fleets, or found themselves in the unfortunate crosshairs of warring aggression of pirates across the spur faired in such conditions, finding better understanding to the Isolationists who wished to withdraw from the greater spur. But they knew this was not the path they should take, and that death was not the end. For followers of the Qeblak knew they would all return to the cosmos and meet once again. Applying for a transfer, after taking the better part of a year to come to terms with the change of their life, Yeshuiin found themselves star bound towards the SCCV Horizon at the age of 258, looking for a bit of solace and something new on a small cruiser adrift in the stars perhaps to work for a decade or two and finish their contract before returning home and starting again. What do you like about this character? I like to think this character is somewhat interesting. I'm not very good at these types of questions but things I think that are fun about it will be their approach to psychology and mutual understanding with the use of psionics to those willing to engage in such practices. Additionally, I look forward to delving into the religious aspect of Qeblak and the impact of spirituality for the character. I tend to play them as an observant type, carefully probing into those they engage with as they get to know them carefully. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I don't like this question, and I never have. I think I am an okay roleplayer, I know that I still have a lot to grow in and am actively trying to improve my RP every time I work on it. Feedback is always welcome in DMs. Notes: Wrbl.

This is good. There really isn't much else to say but I'm making my post longer so people think it's deep :^) More to do IC on an otherwise boring job until the autopotate finds the welder tanks is sorely needed.
