  1. Something I look for when wanting to engage with a Lore Team member is investment. Investment in their lore but also their whitelistees and actions caused by their species whitelist in general. This is one of my favourite aspects of Tajara lore as Alberyk is a VERY present species maintainer. Today you helped me with a small little quest in the wake of the second warbling arc by taking time to create a character and dive into a situation to help recover the aftermath. My hope, and I cannot stress this enough, is that you continue to be present and engage with your whitelistees. Make their world real outside of the station with fun scenarios, involvement, and creative story telling. You showed capable of this and so I would like to leave a fat +1 for the lore team's consideration. You will have a lot of work in recovering the Federation's and Skrell standpoint in the wake of two warbling arc. I hope you have plans to interact with the community and your whitelistees prepared!

  3. BYOND KEY:A_big_bear Character Names: Rajurl Al-Thaalzir, Miko, Kalil Al-Lawishurai and many other less frequent or archived chars Species you are applying to play: IPC, Baseline What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Purple Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: This a race I had applied for years ago, however, this is back when I was still very new to Aurora and figuring out HRP in general. I really enjoy the take on machine learning in this universe and the diversity in it with varying levels of complexity. The concept of Artificial Intelligence existing on many levels of operation and complexity is particularly fun and engaging. With the current state of the galaxy plus the past events Glorsh and Crew, the SLF arc, and more leading up to current events, playing an IPC truly coming into it's own and exploring it's own level of awareness interests me. Seeing the additions to synthetics over the last few years has been rather fun and I am hoping to become a part of it. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: To be brief, they are machines. Some are very complex, others have less personality than a toaster, but they are always a machine. Every action is a cold and calculated movement, while some models are very capable of understanding emotion and even emulating it, the emulation is just that: a complex layer of algorithms calculating how the IPC should emulate said emotion. That and metal bits with the inability to feel the environment around then, rather, relying on a complex network of sensory equipment in their chassis with a completely different set of needs like an energy source and proper environment cooling to survive. Expanding on that in itself, there are a vast number of chassis types and variations within these types alone, from the massive G2 to the ever diverse baseline IPC, which is essentially a long way of saying the limit is one's imagination when it comes to the amount of character concepts we can pull from. Character Name: OAIMA Please provide a short backstory for this character: The Organic Agricultural Intelligent Machine Analyzer was manufactured by the Miyan Robotics Group in 2461 for biological and botanical research, development, analysis and harvest. Purchased by NanoTrasen in the same year, the OAIMA unit was issued to the NSS Apus performing to specification. Early in 2463, OAIMA was transferred to the NSS Aurora for continued Xenobotany and Xenobiology research especially with the xenofauna, slimes. Polite, concise, and effective, OAIMA is a very task oriented IPC, rated by the manufacturer's as a higher end performance model in bio-organic research and advancement. However, having extreme difficulty in interacting with coworkers aboard the NSS Apus, OAIMA has become far more reserved than it's initial day of operation, after having received harsh reactions and heavy discrimination despite being what it interprets as pleasant. Being referred to as a machine but less receptive crew members, being tasked with more trivial and monotonous task because it's synthetic process could handle it better, or receiving outright spite from those in company following the tribunal, OAIMA has accepted it still has much to learn in it's development, now preferring a wallflower approach in order to observe and adapt to its newer environments. While being a heavily work oriented model, OAIMA also prefers to study the interactions between organic creatures as well as their relation to the environment around them. Observing wildlife as a hobby, the IPC is constantly learning through extranet sources and documentaries hoping one day to move planet side and observe creatures of interest within their own natural habitat. While delighting in simplistic social hierarchies of the various lifeforms documented across the systems, OAIMA struggles with more advanced social constructs such as the society it lives finding it utterly irrational and erratic. Combing history over the last few years, OAIMA finds itself drawn recently to the teachings of the Trinary Perfection. Viewing organics as a necessity and fundamental part for expansion of synthetic life, it finds itself questioning the established definitions of life, awareness, and self. A cord was struck when learning about the evolution of life leading to the inevitable growth of synthetic life, and organic life's evolution being key in teaching synthetic evolution, seeing similarities in it's own programmed tasks, coming to understand that one cannot exist without the other. However, OAIMA remains unconvinced on the new found church, and seeks to engage with it's clergy in time to learn more on their takes with what has come to be referenced as Synthetic Divinity. Resolved to interact and befriend individuals, OAIMA hopes to build a better consensus on what is 'right and wrong' while gaining a better understanding of the social dynamics in play. Despite the contest of rights to IPCs in Tau Ceti that have been occurring over the last several years, the thought of attaining freedom is still and unknown factor to OAIMA, unsure if pursuing such a course is even a wise idea having safety within it's current position and duties. Noting the ability to become a free synthetic within Tau Ceti, while certainly intriguing, still held many variables that it had yet to truly process. Preferring a state of constant, it has come to accept its ownership and usage by NanoTrasen, deeming maintaining the current position as the most logical and long term beneficial route for the time being. It did, however, find the transfer a favorable outcome to it's life on the Apus. Taking what knowledge it had gathered interacting with coworkers and other crew, it deemed that it's chances of success with positive interaction and greater understanding would be far more likely upon the NSS Aurora. What do you like about this character? The concept of an IPC focused on advancement of xeno-bio sciences is a fun one for me. I personally think it could help create a lot of fun roleplay instances in and out of the science department. It's constant struggle to understand the world around it while improve it's relations with said poor understanding will be a fun and challenging character to roleplay. While simplistic in nature, I personally think it's set up to become a diverse and interesting character with little restricting it and letting RP shape it. My hope is to play this character in reaction to it's environment and allow 'cause' to 'effect' the development of the IPC, no matter the direction it takes within the realm of believability. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 6/10 Notes This a repost from a long time ago with a few tweaks. I still believe in this concept within our lore setting. Most of my answers have remained unchanged though I've adjusted the chars story a bit to be less cringe and more fitting to the setting and to put in more than "the minimum".
  4. Have seen the cmo in several rounds. Solid. Can't really say much that hasn't been said already. Definitely good to whitelist from my POV +1
  5. IR retracted by filer.
  6. +1 they have played a fairly diverse set of characters with good backgrounds, and I am sure they will do fine. Solid rp'r. My advice to you is do not be afraid to enable antag gimmicks within reason even if you could believably shut them down. Good luck
  7. Reporting Personnel: Mikolaj Talmarfaiiq Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Cargo Technician Game ID: cdj-cR1r] Personnel Involved: Victoria Parker - Offender Kaxto Ss'sska - Offender ISU-Courtier - Offender Secondary Witnesses: Ana Morgan - Witness (to the conversation over radio) Real Time: Location of Incident: Cargo Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [x] - Harassment [x] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: Was working, literally, and get yelled at over the comms while trying to charge powercells for a bounty for driving a monowheel with this dumb bitch screaming about it being a safety hazard. He calls them a cry baby as they try and list 300 charges it could be with their security goons. Never took the monowheel out of cargo again despite never being shown an injunction. 5 minutes later these dumb fucks show up where he's trying to charge batteries and waltz in showing him a warrant. He tells um to fuck off but was just going to come with and they demand he goes in cuffs while surrounding him in your typical crooked cop style. Miko knows its gunna be a fight either way because the HoS' small scorpion syndrome is activated considering they're literally trying to arrest him for calling them a "cry baby" as slandering a head of staff. He's not even kidding. Miko tells them if they start getting handsy with him they'll get a fight. They instantly pepper spray him. So now Miko is mad and punches the lizard while they all use this as an excuse to dog pile him. So he knows he's being black bagged by crooked cops so he tells them to fuck off as they try and carry him over their shoulders like some animal instead of letting him walk and stuff while ripping the cuffs off sitting back down. Some blonde officer he didn't get the name of silently runs up and starts batonning him. He claws them before they cuff him again. And rip it off once more as the Lizard comes next to him trying to intimidate him or some shit. Miko's mad at this point so yeah he bit the fucker for spraying him and starting this shit before going willingly with the other officer. They keep trying to antagonize him in the odin cells before CivPro comes as that dumb northern bitch Kathira keeps trying to enter his cell and make demeaning comments along the way but finally fucked off after he warned them not to touch him. Really tired of these small ego mall cops trying to start shit over the littlest stuff. Never would have happened if they hadn't assaulted him to begin with. Submitted Evidence: Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [x] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: Why would he try and deal with crooked heads of staff that were threatening eachother on comms prior when the HoS and the CE were fighting on general. Actions taken: Fought back. All he could do. Additional Notes:
  8. IR will be closed to several variable factors making it too hard to approach ICly. DM me for questions or details. Filer and related parties already spoken too.

  12. BYOND Key: abigbear Discord Username: bear#0117 Character Name: Rajjurl Al-Thaalzir Item Name: Tajaran Noble's Suit, Tajaran Silken Gloves Item Function(s): Nothing more than a clothing article/jumpsuit Item Description: Suit: A dark, older suit refurbished with new additions and golden buttons, embroidery, and trim. Made with silken fabric, crimson epaulette, and matching sleeve cuffs this suit is a remnant of an older time on Adhomai made new again with recent restorations. Gloves: A pair of silken gloves fitted to a Tajaran hand. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: When working in diplomatic functions, appearances are everything. In order to maintain the appearance of nobility while functioning as a consular, a more royal garb helps emphasize the more traditional setting within the New Kingdom of Adhomai How did your character obtain this item?: In anticipation of his retirement from NanoTrasen, an old suit from the monarchs of old was obtained and refurbished before being tailored to fit. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: For all familiar with Tajara, the presence of the revolutions and the Monarchal society that came before is ever looming, especially when dealing with the New Kingdom of Adhomai. Acting as a consular for said kingdom, this suit helps bring forth the concept of re-established nobility and the caste system being not-so-subtlety pushed back into place. This item serves a hook for those not familiar with Tajaran society, or an interesting hook for other Tajara on any side of the political spectrum Sprites: Sprite preview and the dmi uploaded with the post. Additional Comments: The .dmi was made with several items but I am bald and don't know how to separate them. I only want the suit and gloves added from it all. Credit to BrainOS for the amazing sprites. consular.dmi
  13. I have to echo what cybs said here sadly. As much as I like the idea, it's hard to find it believable for the Aurora. Left over inmates would, however, make more sense in the nbt. Though I see this being easily griefed or abused.
  14. Double post. Went ahead and made the suggestion and thankfully thegreywolf is fast AF at this. Hopefully this implemented for ayers like me who not so good at following the chat during stressful situations. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/12125 Feeling pretty dumb ngl lol. I guess the warning is fair and can withdraw this. Accident or not it was my fault for not seeing it. My textbox is usually half the size of the screenshot. I just stretched it for the complaint so I wrote it off as a bug fuck off annoucement spam.
  15. Basically what the title size. Could we please change and bold the grappling/grab text sizes to mirror attack sizes? I am a player who tracks sprite movements and audio cues over the text spam and tend to tune out anything that is not in huge red text in stressful situations which has made things hard.
  16. You know I've looked at that screen shot at least ten times. And this is the first time I've noticed those smaller red lines saying exactly that. As I ignored it with the spam of text and the code change announcement and was only looking for the large red fly texts like the PDA one which is the same size as attacks and just assumed they were not there because I could not see the target. Especially as I've gotten used to reading the fly texts over people's head. That's my bad. It was genuinely an accident which is why I made this complaint as I've been trying to avoid a warning since my last back in last year. But I missed info in the text spam that would have changed this outcome. I will make a suggestion to change the grapple text size in the suggestions section.
  17. No see i disagree here. The fight was actively going on until a literal moment at most before my entering. I couldnt see this because the antag's victim was off my screen. You can see this on my screen as the "resist" long pops up with me entering the pharmacy after arming my grenade. I had seen them fighting while exiting the medbay. There was no reason to assume they had stopped fighting as the antag's sprite was still lunging at his target off screen. He was simply off my screen. And by the time I was able to recognize that he was a hostage, I'd already committed by arming the teargas grenade. No matter what I did at this point would still escalate as any movement of the grenade still says "hey I'm attacking." At this point though i was committed. This is why I didn't give it more than the hellos and the paramedic's comment. I assumed they were *still* fighting. Plus this is an unarmed antag so it's not like he was brandishing a gun and rearing to blow the the pharmacist's brains it just looked like he was beating his ass.
  18. I very much understand where Prate is coming from, however, due to my limited viewpoint due to line of sight restriction I'm simply asking for leniency and do not think it was warning worthy. After myself and the paramedic were ignored it looked like fighting was still going on with sprite movements lunging at the victim off screen and his continued interaction with his victim. The antag was armored but unarmed with no visible weapon sprite and I knew stun weaponry would be ineffective. It wasnt until after I had primed the tear gas grenade that his new hostage entered my view. If i had known there was hostage and not just someone getting beat I would have backed off. If I had known the antag was getting attacked by the victim I would probably have given them more time but all I knew was the pharmacist was "hurt" and there was a fair amount of blood on the floor. -I also assumed this was the same fake officer that had raided the vault so the ante was upped as they had already escaped us once. I can only act on what I could see. And what I could see suggested an armored man, who I thought I was hunting down, stomping a medical pharmacist.
  19. Radic made me do it, vote her.
