  1. I'll be honest, I don't play a lot of Aurora, but I will give some advice in this matter as we did it to the hunter and CO whitelists over on Colonial Marines. We in the synth council refrained from purging inactive synthetics because we believe that it's possible to be brought up to speed and avoid the whole reapplication process. Synthetic is a role that requires a lot of knowledge, but whenever an old synth comes back, they aren't afraid to ask about new mechanics, or rules. When an old command player comes back, I think it's simple. Go and tell them that there are new rules and lore standards. If they ignore you and break em, then yeet them. If they listen to you, and check them out, then there's no reason to remove them. Basically, treat em like you would any member of the whitelist. Now, like I said, I don't play Aurora a lot, so I don't know if you're command players are as smart as our synths, but I think the point still stands. However, this isn't a hill I'm gonna die on, because I can see how new comprehensive lore may require more time to understand. These are just Salvador's ten cents.
  2. I like the app overall. And by the looks of the reviews, people really think you can handle it, so I do too. The backstory was interesting and fit in. And the shortened name you proposed seems really good. +1 "We hope... to see you there...' - Kept as One.
  3. Supply is a part of service technically, and he already covered service with botany.
  4. "Stanley Marvelman has signed up as scientist" 15 minutes later Stanley is getting bullied by alien. He assumes this is the atmosphere and thinks "Why would they just beat me up for no reason?" Stanley then realizes that humans outnumber all aliens combined. Stanley proceeds to stage an uprising and kills all aliens. Everyone is happy and continues with a renewed sense of purpose. Killing those who dare oppose the race that dominates all others. 1 month later humans go and kill all racist aliens then laugh over their graves, knowing they never stood a chance. If we are getting taken over by a race I say no Skrell, I say the Diona take over. They are obviously superior and assist the humans destroy all, then live in peace and Diona consume all Skrell prisoners and give info to humans and they are friends. By the way, the uprising is on the station and humans kill all nonhuman and non diona.
  5. What exactly has Khaled Al-Bastaki done to you all that is this evil?
  6. You have to research a bigger beaker? Is it bluespace or something?
  7. Can you say the same for everyone else?
  8. Is this like, an actual complaint? The things you people are saying here seems to be sarcastic, however, I have never seen him so I don't really know. Just wondering if this is a joke or a real complaint.
  9. Keep the monkey and add the little beast like Cobaltblood said, their funeral if they use it the wrong way I suppose.
  10. I am talking about RP wise like that guy above me said (I think something like that) but I do agree with the points you raise in the functionality and gameplay with the staff. One time in fact, I turned someone into a cow then killed them with a sword. (on Sybil) Staff of change on /vg/ lets you actually CHOOSE what people become so very scary there.
  11. 1 minute is too short. The staff needs to be worth purchasing. By the time they figure out how to RP as their new form, they will have turned back.
  12. Just make sure that the staff is still worth purchasing.
  13. Maybe keep the normal drone, but let science do upgrade boards or something for new drone types. But why have a medical drone if they can't interact? But seriously, this is epic. Maybe ERT engineer gets an auto upgrade for a drone if he finds one instead if normally having one. And probably make security drone really hard or administrator spawn only because how you are saying it, it seems more powerful than a fully staffed security team. But yes, this is epic please do something like this. Maybe tone it down a bit though. Also /tg/ already has syndi drones, they are scary. +1
  14. Personally I love the staff of change. It can be used to just bully people but maybe the chaplain could do or something like that so it isn't limited and maybe start reprimanding wizards who LRP with the staff. But don't limit it, maybe slow it's recharge. Realistically it uses magic to manipulate genetics and the total form of a person, so it makes sense that the wizard federation would have them. Removing it would stop multiple gimmicks from occuring with it. I have never seen it used on Aurora but I was once a wizard on /tg/ who basically only used it. I am unsure if it let's the wizard choose what the target becomes, but if it does then that should be removed. (I know it lets you do that on /vg/ ) But the sraff can be super fun to be hit by. Maybe decrease the chance for some things like parrots, but don't let everyone become ash drakes either. (Ash drake is an opton on tg, don't know about here. When I get wizard, staff of change is built into my load out and removing it entirely seems a real pity. Just slow it's charging and make it possible to reverse. Also maybe adding a time before you actually change so it will tell you like, you are changing! Be spooked! With like a minute or something before you change so that you know you should get somewhere safe and wizard can't just immediately destroy you with it. But do not remove it.
  15. I just want to point out that destroying lights kills Diona. Not lethal to everyone, but Diona die without light.
  16. I only met him once but he was good. We chilled in front of the supermatter crystal with the shutters open and basked in radiation. (We were both Diona)
  17. What is very weird? The suspense is too much.
  18. As a Dionae I think this would be cool, but like they said they didn't want more communications linked only to ome species, like Vaurca as a hive, which I can understand. Although, I was thinking maybe instead of taps we could use their lore and make it rootsong. Basically their normal language with more range. Just a suggestion if this gets implemented. P.S I didn't mean to refer to this as a hive net ability when I mentioned the Vaurca.
  19. I agree with what Shodan says here. In real life an officer would be able to outrun someone and tackle them because an officer would be more physically fit to do so. That is why security would need something enabling them to take down someone. I am ok with removing stun batons as long as they have a way to down criminals. Don't forget that NT knows people are skeptical of NT and may be acting on this.
  20. I have never played janitor or EMT on Aurora before but I intend to and to me it seems that in a realistic job a janitor would have general access; however, I still do agree that paramedics should be given general access. If HoP's give it out roundstart, and you disagree with them having general access, then it would only make sense to want to stop the HoP''s from giving it to paramedics. +1 (But keep general access for janitors)
  21. Thanks Xelnagahunter. I think that the perfect way to Role play is to be my character. If I just follow the rules and do my job I am sure to find opportunities. After all, that's what SS13 is all about. As a Dionae I intend to act like a real Dionae would. If I do this I can interact with players, I could talk to myself and then when someone asks me why I could vindicate myself (Or should I say ourselves?) And be an overall planty person to talk to. After all, Dionae have far different perspectives than humans. Maybe I could play Lab Assistant and as well as learn how to do science I could learn a new emotion. Every new round is an opportunity for something new and exciting.
  22. Seems pretty good to me. It would be nice to see more Dionae on Aurora. +1
  23. BYOND KEY: Fortelian Character Names: Rodrigo Langston Species you are applying to play: Dionae What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Exempt Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play as a Dionae cyclops because of a few reasons. One thing about Dionae is that the cyclops is actually made up of multiple organisms and I think that this would be a very interesting race to play as. Another is that I do not often see Dionae on Aurora, so I thought that it was high time we got one. I only have one character and this is the first whitelist I am applying for because I want to add another character to my roster. Dionae are very interesting and very unique compared to all other species and I find this makes them very -being honest- cool. The lore for Dionae enables are a broad spectrum to play as a Dionae, from a gardener trying to grow more of its kind to a librarian holding onto the knowledge of the station and many more. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, Dionae are very different from humans for one thing. Cyclops Dionaea are made up of multiple beings as aforementioned meaning that you will be very different than a human just in that standard alone. Another thing that sets Dionae apart is that they feed off radiation, such as standing near the supermatter without safety gear, to feed off its radiation - a feat that would land humans in the hospital - and heal from it. As well as being made up of multiple nymphs and feeding off radiation, Dioane do not have a gender. Another fun thing, back on the topic of multiple nymphs, is that younger nymphs who merge might refer to themselves as "we" instead of "I" however they generally learn to refer to themselves as one, so as to not confuse others. Overall it would be a different perspective to be a dionae as opposed to a human, saying "We say hello" whereas a human would simply say "Hello". Character Name: Kept as One Please provide a short backstory for this character: Kept as One was grown on the Odin in the residential sector by a group of friends. They wanted a way to remember each other so they decided that each friend would grow a nymph, then they would merge so the friends would always be kept as one. Hence the name they gave their newly merged Dionae. After a while, the friends grew up and left the Odin and eventually Kept as One was the only reminder they had been there. Time went on as it often does and Kept as One decided for itself to get employed on one of the research stations near the Odin. It chose the NSS Aurora because the friends had always favored it over the others for reasons Kept as One never got to know. It started work at the NSS Aurora as the librarian so it could record all the good times it had with its friends and their bond. It also loved the job that let it keep knowledge safe. As a librarian, it had an arsenal of knowledge at its disposal and could read its stories on the Odin of its friends and reminisce about the "Good Ol' Days". It never forget its old friends and always thought of the bond they shared. It loved being a librarian and it knew that every day it could always think of its friends. What do you like about this character? What I like about Kept as One is that it is a bond of friendship that some friends thought of cleverly to keep their spirit as one. It is like a time capsule some friends put together to dig up later and remember themselves. It is a bond of friendship that's life will last as long as their bond does. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would give myself a 7/10 just normally and an 8/10 if I am in a situation that has to do with an investigation or some HRP security or command issue. (That is why I stick to non-command/sec jobs) Notes: This is my first Whitelist
