You ARE the bad guy here plahunter, from what delta posted it appears he originally stuck his neck out a bit for you before and got shafted for it. Frankly I can understand him being more than a little miffed. Instead of attempting to formulate SOME sort of constructive reply you attacked him and deflected the criticism with "i don't remember that". Why shouldn't I just deny this appeal now?

I cannot agree more with a list of directives. Currently its incredibly frustrating to draw arbitrary guidelines one what they actually do when complaints and ahelps come through. 1) Protect and ensure the profitability of Nanotrasen. 2) Protect and ensure the confidentiality of Nanotrasen's corporate secrets. 3) Protect the public face and good name of Nanotrasen. 4) Protect the physical assets owned by Nanotrasen. I think this is a good set of directives here, personally id ere more on the original restrictive set but i can understand how making them TOO restrictive would just make it frustrating to play as a LIed person.

Personally, i like to know what im talking about before i claim something. There wasnt any "decisions" made here. Deadchat was muted for excessive ad hominem and aggression that was way over the line, it was muted by aimelessanalyst(jenna) not me. I muted LOOC and then OOC when you guys took the same reasons that deadchat was muted into other chat channels. Deadchat can be a nexus of salt all it wants, you dont have the right to blatantly harrass or attack our players or our staff. Also with the absurd level of chat spam/logs/and ahelps coming in at the time and only two admins being on (one of which was having connection problems) asking us to mute individuals instead is just wholly unreasonable. EDIT. Also discussing issues is fine. In fact i encourage it. You have to understand that you all as players only see a small portion of whats actually going on. as an admin i see ALL chat at all times, all ahelp, all staff PMs all notes/warnings/bans being given. its sometimes almost impossible (or innapropriate) to communicate this to the players. Especially when situations like this happen. TLDR im human, no im not hitler running a power trip when i choose to toggle a chat on/off. i do it rarely for good reason and when i do it i stand by WHY i did it.

Final resolution, i dont find anything wrong with what chazz did here. I hardly feel they had vampires who can teleport around and stun people while stunned themselves in mind when they made the execution laws...Added to that he just had a full carbine pumped into his chest on lethal setting. Honestly, we all need to chill out and just let RP be a bit more organic. This isnt even considering the crazy shit show it was in the brig fighting over the solitary confinement of rin and the HoS dealing with shutdown disease with no virologist. TLDR, RP went a certain way. that way happened to be pretty interesting from an observers point of view. Just because it didnt go your way doesnt always mean its time to make a complaint. (although i personally feel we should keep the "fuckboy" insults out of IC but thats just me nit-picking)

The resolution is you're staying banned =\. Even when borgs mess with the doors to un-bork the shuttle launch the shuttle doesnt launch unless the airlocks are closed. they automatically bolt once they do. you where the only maint drone/robot on the shuttle (who arent even allowed to board the shuttle). i could forgive this accident if you hadn't had so many warnings/notes pile up in very very short time.

i have access to attack logs and server chat logs, neither shows a log of anyone opening the shutters.

There werent any other borgs on the ship and i was watching. someone would have had to hack it.

Our EOR grief rule carries with it an automatic 3-day ban. That being said its true we rarely punish for it as most are just a case of one or two attack logs and often by accident. In your case im not quite convinced of your "arrow key story". the shuttle airlocks are bolted i believe. you would have had to click on the airlock to open the menu, click "unbolt" and THEN click "open" all by accident? This seems to me to be an incredible coincidence, unless i am missing something?

Well, the code has been modified (you're awesome skull) to be consistent so you will know the LI people cannot/resist the implant. It looks to me this has been resolved? are there any further thoughts on the OP JKjuidgeX?

I was watching for the majority of this round, i cant say i think chaz really did anything wrong here. He isolated a confirmed sexual predator/kidnapper and shortly after brigging them came down with a terrible disease (vampire shutdown disease). I dont see how its meta-gaming to put two and two together HEY MAYBE RIN GAVE IT TO ME. That being said its the head of securities job to keep a handle on his department know whats going on. With my security force arguging and fighting one another and myself dealing with ebola in medbay i probably would have isolated a sexual predator too. The incident near the washroom was, in my opinion just escalation of force. rin had JUST unloaded a lethal energy pistol into the HoS, glared and stunned him, and also teleported around with mist form evading arrest. Did he beat someone to death who was dieing in crit on the floor? yeah. was it justifiable given the circumstances? i think so yeah. Personally, i thought the RP of "you killed her you monster" and "i did what i had to do" was an interesting RP angle especially when it came from the already tense stand off when she was isolated to begin with. Why cant we just learn to roll with situations like this?

In my opinion, i feel relying on hard science for realism is only truly necessary when you begin to create your universe (there are exceptions, but its very difficult). We do not arbitrarily change the rules of how electricity works, or how atmospheric pressure is applied and indeed the mechanics reflect this. We can easily rely on hard-science to explain this foundation of mechanics because they exist in OUR world and are easily understandable. This relateability or "realism" remains when you rely on common themes. we have reasonable expectations of how laser rifles are going to work, how cloning, telescience and even genetic mutations work from other pop-culture things or other fantasy settings. Essentially, we dont NEED hard science to explain them because we are relying on an already strong basis for them (a laser rifle is a laser rifle). I think the shift away from science-fiction is a very very good idea because our foundation for mechanics and established themes is quite strong. Theres an extreme amount of potential for developing some pretty crazy and interesting things and i feel trying to explain it with science or curtailing it for "realism" would be doing our universe a disservice.

i /think/ you're correct delta. My biggest problem is just the frustrating disconnect there is between it looking like it works IC but OOC the implant still overrides it. i would be fine if we just did some code magic to say "you resist the enthralling because of your implant" but we are kinda strapped as far as our code situation goes (which isnt anyones fault!)

i dont think borgs should have hands, i just want to be able to put em on the operating table.....
