That does seem to fit our criteria for not making it gank The character in question is a physical threat to you (he is armed or can be reasonably expected to be armed) and catches you in an illegal or otherwise compromising act.

but /why/... This is supposed to be about the roleplay, from what i saw in the round roleplay was happening. Why couldnt the team sent in have been his escort instead? why couldnt it have just ended with a "yo wait for us next time" and then jackboot could be like "you're right that was my bad". instead we have one duty officer threatening to quit and a huge argument over a very very simple miscommunication.

I think you're both being kinda dumb here to be honest. It has been established that jackboot had permission from gollee as well as dea to come aboard as an ambassador. Admins being the only ones capable of spawning escorts puts this in a bit of an awkward spot. Dea should have probably made sure some escorts where spawned in for you, you also could have and should have communicated in ahelps about it)WhERez MAh EsC0RTSSS). Thats really as far as your blame in this goes jackboot. I think jackboot has a point in that DOs chose the most serious response. That is to send in a team and have him forcibly removed and arrested. Why couldnt it have just been like "oh...you dont have an escort, oh well guess they got tied up in bluespace! heres some now! (poke an admin)". thats....really as far as this situation should have gone. From what i observed of the round jackboot was actually creating some pretty interesting roleplay,

Right, It ended up taking a lot longer than i thought it would and i apologize for that. Us all being on radically different time zones can be a bit awkward sometimes. Anyway we have come to the conclusion that your forum behavior, especially as a member of staff is just too over the line to ignore. A week long forum ban will be placed on your forum account. The next offence of aggression that you have shown in some of the OPs links will likely result in a permanent ban from the forums. I have discussed this with our loremaster jackboot and he agrees that the next time you get forum banned, for any length of time you are gone from the lore team. To your credit however, you've given us your word and your apologies it was over the line. You're free to voice whatever concerns or criticisms you have about this server, its administration, or even me personally. Just keep it cool yeah?

Oh dont get me wrong, ideally the player would have just rolled with it. The player being upset or not is irrelevant here, if my connection and work wifi wasnt being so shit at the time i would have bwoinked you myself over this. You mindswapped a freshly spawned HoS without any RP. Our rules are pretty extensive and even still they are kinda barebones in some areas (and in the process of being tweaked, stay tuned). No we cant right every single situation into our rules so no it doesnt say "yo by the way mindswapping counts as gank". Even if i indulge in a semantic debate over the letter of the rules and even if i agree this isnt a "gank" its still hilariously awful. You do not mind swap a freshly spawned head of security, thats really all there is to it mate.
