  1. I've heard a lot of talk of people wanting to add a safe back to the Horizon. My suggestion is adding a safe either to the Captain's office or to a new vault that would contain spoils/plot related items from past events or whatever command deems important enough to store in it. Additionally the vault could have some items of interest that aren't just access related or weapons related. Giving antags some more varied things to do aside from breaking into the Captain's office.
  2. I don't really mind Machinist being banned from Surgical stuff, but if we don't go that way, I'd like better definition of who takes priority for tasks and such. I've seen a handful of situations where a Machinist is expected to do surgery or forced to, or asked to, or whatever other situation and something goes fuckways and someone gets mad/in trouble and everyone comes out confused or peeved. But this requires Maintainers to look at this thread, not us to keep arguing in circles.
  3. Yeah, this. I've never understood if some value is broken or if that's intentional. Crutches should be there for characters who are missing one limb and want to limp out of medbay or whatever flavor of RP they feel.

  5. I feel like Aurora wouldn't really benefit from a 2IC. As someone who mains XO fairly often and tries hard to use it as a medium to generate RP, occasionally using it for hosting little mini-events IC or whatever. I find that making a role above the others is only going to bring us away from a lot of the stuff that made command votes and captain level decisions more interesting. Having no captain, or a captain dying in rare cases and forcing the rest of command to elect someone brings a lot more interesting RP than just having someone reliably there to take the spot. More often, I see HoSes take Acting Captain rather than XOs. And I have to echo the rest of the thread. Elevating XO to a 2IC should not be allowing anything but humans and skrell to hold the position. There will also be a ton more responsibility and stress foisted onto the new XO role that I and a lot of people won't really be appreciating, especially myself. I don't plan to play XO anymore if this goes through.
  6. Played with Snowy before, played on and off with some of their newer characters. They've got a good handle on their positions and play. I believe they'll do well in command. +1
  7. This suggestion is to allow Consulars and Corp Reps to be disabled, and potentially Captains and desk-focused roles being able to as well. The disabilities I'm talking about mostly here are Mobility, Sight and Limbs. Consulars and Corp Reps are mostly going to be paperwork/RP characters, why not allow them to be missing an arm or a leg? Captains as well are usually not expected to be rocking around setting up the SM, fighting antags, etc. Captains are basically Consulars/Corp Reps with a fancier title and a medal who are expected to divvy out tasks to the rest of command/staff or communicate with people who can do something, rather than doing it themselves, unless ultimately that is needed, I'm not using this as a soapbox to say every single character should be missing a limb but I have found it very weird that Consulars/Corp Reps can have a Speech Impediment but not a missing limb, especially with the amount of Dominian Consulars we have had in the past and have now.
  8. Gotta echo Garn on this. You can't play any character that outwardly supports the Solarian Warlord factions, Biesel/SCC/NT and the rest of the SCC are against them, Sol is more or less against them. They're anti-corporate. You can play them as antags and I can get SRF rolling in and saying "kill all xenos" being uncomfortable, but I don't really consider that much different than the occasional assistant that rolls in and says something like "lmao furries on this server?" And again if someone's agreeing with fascism or whatever OOCly they'll be spoken to and if they're talking about simping for the SRF their character should probably be IR'd and fired.
  9. I'm going to echo Nerdy with this. Having them be visible does one of two things. - People who assume one roundtype won they don't want to play don't play and a round of 22 readies ends on 20 or 18. - The round starts with 15 people, maybe 3 have antags on, antag roll fails 12 times and we start a round with 6 people on secret extended.
  10. I'm not really sure where this thread is coming from. Groups like the SRF are anti-corporate so the SCC, Biesel, NT and everything else opposes them. The wildlands groups pages specifically point out that people who support them cannot be played as outwardly supporting them. And I assume that anyone who's outwardly supporting fascism OOCly is going to be spoken to/banned for breaking some kind of rule. And I assume within the next year or so most of the Wildlands groups will be gone as Sol/Biesel mop them up.
  11. Throwing my two cents in. What would be the feasibility of expanding electronic wear to be able to select a pre-built module to spawn with? Characters could spawn with a TTS module in a headset or gloves? I figure starting with a TTS module would be the least worrisome and maintainers could discuss things like translators, etc. If having those spawn pre-baked into a loadout was even feasible.
  12. I've played a decent amount of rounds with Meep. They show great consistency with their characters, make engaging and diverse characters - Also you play Rectangular???????? +1 very consistent RPer from what I've played with them
  13. See title. The old version had a public check in/out computer. We have a few librarian players lately which is good, but locking the computer in their room means that no one can check out any books without a Librarian spawned or bothering the XO or Captain.

  16. So Surgery page says that Machinists can do Organ repair if it is mechanical. But the surgery tray in the machinist operation area does not contain the full amount of tools. This either requires a machinist to harass medical for bone gel if they cut open ribs or to ask Operations to save them a surgery kit. And I find 99% of the time, when a Machinist asks someone for a tool they need to finish a surgery common suddenly turns into a debate on whether they should be doing it, a surgeon should or if the person with broken lungs, heart, or whatever else just needs to give up.   17. Yeah. It doesn't really help that if someone does get squished it just is a complete deletion. Would like to see some change.

  19. Played with Bob before, they've done well and definitely continued to excel in the rounds I've seen them in/played with them. Generally they communicate well and are good at bringing good RP into rounds. +1
  20. Casimir is fun to play with, from what I've played with him. I enjoy his miner as well (who I've seen dead more than alive as OM). He's good at RP and generally brings fun options to the table. +1
  21. Yes! I think letting command have more faction choices would be awesome! Wonder if we could just make backpacks and stuff have a bit more moddability?
  22. I would kill for a third shuttle. The Space Bar and Space Mall were never visited much because Miners could only really visit them without it being a whole thing Command has to organize. I would also like something else that antags can steal/mess with! There aren't a lot of big shiny things on the Horizon to mess with that aren't either kind of rote now or bwoinkable.
  23. I think this would be cool. Having a bit more IC push to have characters remember each other's birthdays and stuff would be fun.
  24. I dunno how realistic it would be with how a lot of stuff works but maybe some kind of local ship-based messaging system? "Hey these 2 ships are around, they both have the ship messaging console. Do you want to send either of them a message?" Maybe even lower tech and give everyone flares they can fire off in various colors that mean various things.
  25. Fax machines on other ships is definitely a good idea. Though I feel it'd only work on TCFL, SCC-alligned ships and possibly some trader/scrapper ships for funny. I'm interested in alternative forms of communication as well.
