  1. If this is accepted, the server will reach a new Loow point. But really, for as much shit as I give Loow, he seems like a spot on guy. The only problem I can raise to them is that Id have to try with all my will not to pun in ahelp, again.
  2. Let me ask something. Why do people think secret is specifically for antags, and antags only? Where does it say that secret is just an antag selector? No where. Secret is for secretly picking the gamemode. If you want to tell people to vote extended if they want extended, vote for antags if you want antags with no chance for extended.
  3. What does that mean for the charity Truesight talked to my catplomat about?
  4. The date on the wiki says April 1st, that's what they told me.
  5. Before someone else reports this, yes someone did see the report, it was moved, but Tenz moved it back themself.
  6. Like I said, what you were doing felt like being on the verge of self-antagging, so it has everything to do with you OOCly, and sadly I'm not in a position at the moment where I can make an incident report. It looks like you have a trend of just barely not breaking the rules, especially with Asimo. The round you have justification for left an especially bad taste in my my mouth. I was trying to do something I'd been planning for months, but instead I had to deal with Asimo's bull once more.
  7. This is pretty cool bc you need to study for school.
  8. I enjoy the PROSPEKT of this thread. But yeah, either take Sierra's suggestion, or just be away with it, because it's little more than an annoyance that the limited engineering can't be arsed to fix.
  9. "I don't like it when I don't get what I want, make it so I can always have what I want, at the expense of people who want the other thing." I think I may have just summarized 75% of this in 30 words. I mean, really, this is pretty much what this says. Beside, how often does extended happen? Tell me, how many times does extended show up in the numerous amounts of secret rounds that it seems to make secret less valid to the point where we should seriously consider removing it?
  10. Extended is only a problem and an annoyance for people who don't want to put any effort into making the round fun for themselves or others. That is the point of antags, and I have zero idea why people want something to spice up the round, but have no interest in putting effort into it themselves. Extended Is only boring if you sit on your thumb and do fuck all. Extended is part of the game, and like any game, you only enjoy it as much as you let yourself enjoy it. So like the four other threads with the people making the same exact arguments as you are, I can't see this going anywhere but a10-20 page argument.
  11. I think this is, what, the fourth thread wanting to remove Extended from Secret? You know what they all have in common? They've never happened. People whine about extended, but people whine about nuke, cult, rev, people while whine about whatever gamemode, no matter what it is. I don't like Nuclear. Should I go on ahead and make a thread to remove Nuclear from Secret because me and X amount of people don't like it?
  12. I agree, but this suggestion, in either of the forms it's been discussed, seems like too much effort to go through for this to be worth it in any official capacity. My suggestion would be to remake this suggestion in the head of staff section so people can pick it up independently as they please.
  13. This point has already been raised and dismissed, to repeat: There are already two antags with involuntary conversion powers. Clearly only having to do the things you want to do as a player, is not a design goal here. The enslavement implant does not change that fact, or introduce any new problems. This argument is imo completely invalid. Except no it's not invalid. There are two antags that have involuntary conversion, why is that a reason to say that there must be a third? Explain to me at least one way where adding another antag to the game who can force people who don't even like being an antag will add the overall enjoyment and roleplay environment of Aurora. This is also exactly how I feel. Traitors, the antags you're suggesting become just as powerful as supernatural, Eldrich beings with the ability to have complete and udder control and power over people, without being as rare as the antags in question. Cultists and vampires happen how many times in a day? Now, how often does a round have traitors in it, and how many? Vampres are one person, Cultists are part of the same group, Traitors are clusterfucks of whatever the fuck they want. Instead of having two antags that forcibly recruit people on the rare occasion they exist in the game, you're going to have people who force people to do things against their will ICly and OOCly almost every single round. Now, how much fun does that sound?
  14. This was the premise of one of my head of securities. They were one of the teachers from NT's Security Cadet program, and there was a time where I was seriously considering making my own point system for cadets, and even recruiting others to help in it. But, you notice I said "was" to all of those? I found that most of the times, Cadets just don't give a shit, don't even want to learn. Not only for the short lived life of Ida Cox, but in my entire SS13 career, Ive only seen two Cadets who actually acted like cadets and wanted to actually roleplay learning in their roles.
  15. Well Sleepy being Asimo being changes things for me as well Because every time I see Asimo, they're annoying, on the verse of self-antagging. One time he changed the AI's laws several times to laws that fit his own criteria and purpose instead of trying to fix the AI's laws like I told him to, and then just last night he decided the best way to obtain metal was to rip apart the walls of the research department, and thinks it's okay to have a borg as your own personal buddy so they can break corporate regs and let them into areas they don't have access to.
  16. So, pretty mush, I watshed a video, where they kritsized the English language for some, what I think, is pretty minor things. So, I thought Id do something funny, and for as long as I kan manage, write in the way way they deskribed, and maybe some of you would like to join me. Basikally, they said the letters C and X don't need to eksist. Bekause C makes the "sus" and "kuh" sound, and S and K already do those things 100% of the time, and X makes an "uks" sound, like "KS" can do. They also nocked the wind out of silent letters, so none of those ether for me, and lastly they said that that PH should stop catfishing the letter "F". So, Im gonna do this, and it'll be fun to see if anyone else joins.
  17. Who the fuck is Itzal?
  18. I think another source of the problem is that some engineers may just be 'gone.' When was the last time you ever met someone whose main character was an engineer? I can think of two people only. And when we switched over to new code, whole swaths of characters were cut away, and why would you go through the trouble of recreating a character that isn't your favourite (s)? I bet when the characters merge together, engineers will be on the rise again. Also, I don't know about other people, but I used to play engi fairly often, but the rate at which engineering got immensely busy because antag round started becoming every single round, leaving little time to do anything fun, like building in the empty rooms, just drove me away, because I didn't feel like fixing breaches, broken brigs, and the 20 other things antags do 10 times every single round. That ties in with Nan's point number 1.
  19. As long as the Truesights themselves stay: Im all good. Also, would their be an IC reason for the name change, or is it just a handwave kind of thing?
  20. Except you can't call an ERT when you have less than two heads. And according to Garn, there was exactly one CMO, and no others.
  21. So pretty much nothing is against the rule as long as you package it as some kind of 'end game?'
  22. So, this is spawn from Fowl's complaint, where he released a slimepocolypse on the station. Since Skull said to leave the complaint alone, and I wanted to continue the discussion about whether or not slimes can be used as a tool against antags. Skulls mentioned this in the thread mentioned above, so Ill start here. Basically the meat of the whole Major End Tatoring rule. Lets picks at it a bit. No plasma fires, like the holodeck plasma fire? Well, why is this on the list? You could roleplay out the fear of massive death fire going around the station, so, whats the problem? Well, the plasma fire is a super destructive force that can eat through the station is such a little amount of time, kills people extremely fast, and makes it near impossible to safely procure people for cloning. So, ruled out for being too deadly to be really roleplayable. So, what does this have to do with slimes? Let's ask Delta, Mofo, or Fowl himself. Slimes are death incarnate in newcode. If you release any numbers of slimes, they can completely and utterly rekt the station. Even releasing just one has the potential to really fuck over lots of people because they split more easily, kill much faster, split faster, and grow faster. So, why do I think this makes them unusable? Well, if you release a 'slimpocolypse' it's getting to get very hairy, very fast because slimes can go anywhere they want, rip people apart, and fester there until forever because they're SO much harder to kill as well. So they can get anywhere, kill easily, just don't fucking die anymore, breed, kill more, become more in numbers, and repeat. What RP can be garnered from this when everyone is dying against an enemy that can kill you in seconds, but has zero weaknesses. You're gonna be too busy running and dying to an enemy that has more than enough potential to kill anyone, anywhere on the station, just like a plasma fire, or a bombing.
  23. If you walk up to the captain, pull a revolver from your bag and remove their head with it, it's gank. Wearing a purple hat while doing it doesn't change the fact you're breaking that rule if you do that. Breaking a rule, is breaking a rule. Can slimes be an interesting antag method? SURE! Can you release the slimes en masse without breaking the rule? No. Gank is gank, en masse gank is gank as well. I don't think you seek to purposefully go out of your way to break the rules, I just think you're misunderstanding that what your describing will still do it.
  24. I don't think that really worked, because you already said about you already plan to break to mentioned rule again.
  25. I feel like before you think about doing anything, I should remind you of something. I am fairly sure releasing huge amounts of slimes, giving them the power to expand exponentially so they can get out and completely and utterly destroy the station because slimes are so stupidly and ridiculously deadly at the moment is actually going out of your way to unfairly create as much collateral damage as is possible. In short, maybe, you know, don't do it.
