  1. Hi, thanks for applying. The application is unfortunately too barebones to be accepted. You need at least 2 paragraphs of backstory for the character. As for your question, you only need to write one character backstory in the application. I'll deny this, but you can try again with a new one.
  2. Kaneyama Plant Enters Operation Suwon, Konyang After substantial delay, the governmental GON-ENE corporation in charge of the Kaneyama facilities and power network, Mok Dae-Jung, Public Relations director for the company, has announced a detailed timetable at a press conference on Thursday. While the government’s enthusiastic support and promotion for the Kaneyama plant is undoubted, questions about the long-term environmental viability, site safety and lack of transparency behind the speedy awarding of the relevant contracts still plague the project. Furthermore, technical specifications leaked over the extranet show an extensive underground of tunnels and vaults under the facility. GON-ENE claims these are shielded panic bunkers to be used in case of emergency, though this has done little to put skeptics at peace.
  3. Basic Information Byond Account: the lancer Character Name(s): Maurice de La Force, Gregory Cashman, IRU-Electra, Park Ha-neul AI Name(s): N/A Discord username + tag: Lancer#1589 Age: 22 Timezone: GMT+2 When are you on Aurora?: ~13:00-20:00 GMT+2 almost daily Experience How long have you played SS13?: 9 years probably How long have you played on Aurora: 2015 How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I'd like to think I have a general idea about all of the mechanics Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: No Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: Yes Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No Personality Why do you play SS13?: It's one of those sandbox games where you can create and play out stories with other people, and Aurora's lore and roleplay got me hooked since I came here. Why do you play on Aurora?: At this point I honestly have little tangible experience that I remember from other servers, apart from the fact that none of them came even close to the level of roleplay that we have here, the lore and the people that I've met and made friends with. What do moderators do?: Moderators make sure players follow the rules, both on the server and throughout the discords, maintaining the OOC environment that has made the server what it is today. They also help people, assisting with all sorts of issues a new player might come across and would like to inquire about. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: It means that you share and understand the concept of what Aurora is trying to be, the environment it wishes to promote and the rules that you are called to enforce. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I would like to offer my time towards the betterment of the server that I really like, this time from an OOC position. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I can adapt to new situations, know when to call for help if I need it, and I think I'm generally fair. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I'm generally level-headed, and if not I know when to take a step back. Being staff for some years now has taught me how to respond appropriately, so I do not believe it will be a problem. The fact that I'm not entangled in a lot of drama after all this time is, I think, a good indicator. Anything Else You Want to Add: I was ccia and I very recently quit. I think I reached the ceiling of what I could do there, and it was getting a bit stale, so I'm applying for moderator instead.
  4. closing for OOC reasons
  5. Who is that benefactor? How did they end up getting what is essentially government property under their possession, and how does it make sense that they ended up in a NanoTrasen sponsored mercenary company that is the Ceres' Lance? Other than that, the backstory seems too focused on minutiae of martial exploits with very little exploration of the character itself. It does not contain any information on the treatment it received in the Alliance and Ceres' Lance, or the reasons it has formed the opinions it has. If you want to continue applying with this character, I would suggest rewriting the backstory to focus more on the character and the points I brought up, than a series of deployments and assignments. I won't deny it, in case you want to post an updated background on this one.

  7. Alright. Just make sure the backstory is a bit more structured next time.
  8. But how did they go from lawyer's assistant to an officer in the police? It doesn't seem that their credentials would work there very well.
  9. Hi, thanks for applying. How did Cog end up in that factory to begin with? The story is generally a bit hard to follow. Who was their owner? Did they get a police job before or after the incident?

  14. Hi, I'll unfortunately be denying this application. The character backstory in question is too barebones. While IPCs can get to work straight out of the factory, I'd like to see an actual character with a backstory. Experiences, how they got treated, how their personality was formed, etc. The rest of the application is fine though, so you only need to make a new backstory when you reapply. You can reapply whenever.
  15. Thanks for applying, however I'll have to deny this application. While the length of your responses is imrpoved, the story leaves much to be desired. First of all, the name Edwin Livingston is a bit odd. While yes, IPCs can be named like humans if their owners choose so, the backstory provides little context of their origin aside from a date, a basic occupation overview and what ended up happening. There is nothing that shows that this is a character, their personality or anything else that touches on the treatment of IPCs and the general lore. I would suggest reading some other accepted applications to get an idea of what we'd like. You can reapply in a month.
