I hereby declare that the Slav is a superior drinker to the Irishman, on the grounds that I consumed 4x the alcohol (3x while he was still conscious) than the Irishman, and did not pass out like he did. Glory to the Slav!

This is certainly some of the better non-pornographic SS13 art I've seen, very nice. I find the fake Onion articles particularly amusing,

I didn't realize there was a Neptune's Pride 2, but I'm aware of the game and have been wanting to play it for some time now. I'd be up for it, much like I was up for Diplomacy, assuming we get enough people together.

Is my Tajaran whitelist app super hot fire? -
You can make artificial bluespace crystals in the protolathe, but it requires mining to bring you materials, competent researchers for those levels, and it eats up all your diamonds to make just a couple of them. As far as other treasures, there's the monitor decryption key in the RD office that lets you play with the messaging server, such as adding keywords to the spam filter, deleting everyone's messages, stalking their conversations etc. There's also five sheets of phoron in xenobiology which they are screwed without if you steal it.

To be completely frank, I find the new forums very difficult to read on account of the excessive use of white space. From a graphic design aspect the new forums are sleek and easy on the eyes, but from a practicality stand point I find reading through threads to be rather headache-inducing, specifically in the context quote pyramids. I would like a return of our old background for quotes, as it made some RP-based posts look much nicer.

Character Complaint - Oral Qui-Tup (LordRaven001)
Mofo1995 replied to a topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Wait a minute, did you say force gloves? I was the Research Director this shift, and I did NOT authorize force gloves to be handed out, nor was I ever asked or informed that they were. Unless security starts with them or can get them so other way, that's possession of contraband without proper paperwork. -

BYOND Key: Mofo1995 Character Names: Isiah Fraser, Shkor-Dyet Dom'Pesh, Maximillius Chrysostom, other lesser known characters Species you are applying to play: Tajaran What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Wheat Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Как точно! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Despite the misconceptions I initially had about Tajarans, I read their wiki page about a month back and found that the lore was actually rock solid. The tenuous struggle between the three factions vying for control of Adhomai, as well as the structured ethnic-social class system are two points which strike me as particularly rich. I feel as though this is a deep well of background I can draw upon to effect good roleplay on the station, as well as to raise awareness about the Tajaran condition to others. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Unlike humans, Tajarans have a (somewhat) rigid ethnic class system. They have extremely unconventional sleep cycles, and so a few days of inactivity for a Tajaran could just mean that they went to bed. There are three very bitter factions at each others' throats, and so you have to be careful about other Tajarans if they find out you don't support their flavor of dystopia back on the homeworld. Their fur is thick for the cold Adhomai weather, so they really feel the discomfiture in warmer rooms. And, of course, they roll all their R's and get accused of being anthropomorphic cats by bald racist coworkers. Lastly, they speak in the third person, and typically worship the moons of their homeplanet. Character Name: Arrkady Tsyrrkunov Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Long story ahead, at some point while I was writing I started getting REALLY into it. Early Life First Revolution Interwar Period Second Revolution and Aftermath What do you like about this character? I like that he's a simpleton. At no point while he was doing anything that he's done in his life had he been thinking about "the bigger picture." He's not an ideologue or a philosopher, or any sort of reputable thinker, he's merely a working man whose only goal in his entire life has been to look after his family and the people of his village. Despite everything he's gone through in his life, he isn't jaded or pessimistic. He's enthusiastic about the Republic of Biesel, living with humans, and working aboard a space station. When he was just a boy, humans were these mystical space alien empire that he heard about in the news, and now he's going to be out in the stars, away from his horrible memories, in a realm beyond even his people's gods. Is he a happy man? No, but here away from the horrors of war he can try to set up again with his beloved daughter Zaklina, and live working a comparably simpler job until death or retirement. I also very much like that I've written a massive incoherent wordwall of backstory for him, because it means I've given myself a lot of history to draw upon for stories/interactions/factors to take into account for decision making/RP. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 9/10. I'm a completely ashamed to say it, but on this subject matter my ego is inflated to think I'm way better at RP than I probably really am. Notes: I sincerely apologize for NOT writing a short two paragraph summary of his story. If requested by the proper authorities, I will generate a two paragraph tl;dr free of charge in the replies.

What would the repercussions be for not paying taxes? Is there an incentive to prevent people from just hitting "no taxes?"

Do me now, I want a pun. Also, it's too late, I've already begun celebration.

This is what I was referring to earlier. It would be a clear progression of Orthodoxy, at the very least, since apparently Catholicism has a backup plan for xenos to let them in.
-
Apparently, nearly everyone I know is a commie, including all my friends that I polled.
-
Well, there's at least two other people in my quadrant, even if they're far more centrist.

I have one suggestion. Jokes aside, sounds to me like you would prefer we devise a new upstart religion, which could be painfully hard to do given the exceptional requirements needed to make this religion dominant over established older faiths. It would have to offer blackjack and hookers to gain this kind of traction, nothing short of a miracle man performing miracles in front of a camera and claiming the be a religious prophet. Nonetheless, this would take some serious brainstorming to try and draw up a new faith that meets these requirements in a believable manner.

So, busting out my Holly Babble here, it's important to note that there is a strong doctrine that Jews are the chosen people of Yahweh and all the other humans are just beasts of the earth even if they look similar. Going further, Christianity essentially just broadens the scope and says all humans are created in god's image and can seek salvation. I can't attest as much to Islam, but ultimately it is entirely plausible that Judaism and Christianity could be alive and well with relatively simple theological explanations, with little or no reason to be disheartened or disband just because of the discovery of more technologically advanced aliens. The Habby Bibblel says that got created all the birds in the sky, the beasts that walk on land, and the creatures of the sea, with some translations saying "Earth" instead of "Land." Skrell could easily be considered creatures of the sea, and Tajarans and Unathi simply beasts that walked on land. It's rather clear though that Humans are made in God's image. The discovery of other peoples with more advanced technology never disbanded Judaism, and neither Christianity or Islam. I did have an interesting idea the other day of putting in a lore canonization app for a 9th Ecumenical Council on Orthodoxy to discuss whether Xenos could be faithful, and then trying to base a for or against argument on scripture, but laziness took part.
