I thought spaced slimes still survived for some reason on the old code, I remember being surprised about it. But hey, if we go back to temperature I would love it.

The character concept sounds amazing, but I've never gotten to interact with this character. I hope I get to at some point.

Mrkadoodle Head of Staff whitelist request
Mofo1995 replied to Mrkadoodle's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Was he HAL 9000? If so, I also -1. The borgs tried to make things interesting, I think, but I spent an hour and a half trying to get the AI go respond, and it didn't. It said one sentence when I joined, and nothing for the entire rest of the round until a surprise take over at the two hour mark, during which the station was vented of air, people were door crushed, and doors everywhere were electrified. I had even begun telling peple not to try to ask the AI for anything, since ICly I became convinced it was just plain inactive, and OCCly convinced it was AFK.I was certainly quite salty. Now, that isn't to say the situation can't improve. You're new and made new mistakes, and I'm sure that overtime you can really mature and improve your role-playing. After all, I was three day banned on my first day and now have a head whitelist. Just give it some time, work on your abilities, hone your skills and build some positive reputation, then try again later. And if this wasn't you, then never mind my whole post and change my -1 to a no vote. -
So, I like that there's a button that tints the windows of the office instead of bringing down the powerful privacy shutters, but the only issue with this is that anyone can still just walk into toxins and look at you, making your privacy a bit nullified. Can we make the toxin's facing windows electrochromatic windows too?

Ah! That's why. I always thought that the water in the tanks and extinguishers was just... Cold, since it used to be all temperature based. Well, assuming for some reason that a plan is in the works to go back to a temperature format, I would love to be able freeze Ray slimes again, and being able to recharge them with frost oils would be cool, albeit a different suggestion.

Prince Rahkarak Need YOU help!

I don't understand Snuggly the Crow-speak. -
So, Jenn joined in as a xenobiologist, and I handed her a "Temperature Gun" after setting the temperature to minimum and told her to see if it will work on slimes. The result? Big time slime outbreak, and a clutch evacuation to the cryo tubes in medical. Simply put, the temperature gun does not function anymore for popping slimes whatsoever. The temperature gun is garbage unless you want to fry Tajarans. The freeze ray would be amazing for xenobiology, especially with the heightened aggression factor of the slimes which has caused a sharp spike in xenobiologist deaths.

Or maybe make it so the doors automatically bolt themselves in addition to the emergency shutters, that way they can't crowbar their way out. It'd turn the place into a coffin if they don't wear suits with oxygen tanks, but it should be standard procedure to wear standardized protective gear in such a high mortality job, and so that'd be on them. Otherwise, the huge air scrubbers can just sort out the toxins, and then boom, they can waltz out A-okay rather than gassed to death EDIT: That is, A-okay other than having one very pissed off boss at the loss of a whole toxins canister and probably administrative action.

Hey good point. There's no way only 14 rounds occurred over the span of two weeks. Well everyone, the market has died of severe bread damage I'm afraid. Thanks for playing!

I would love to take you up on the offer, but I just cannot roleplay women successfully at all.

I'm glad that we're finally discussing the immediate and exceptional need to rid ourselves of the rodent menace. It's time that we take matters into our own hands and go on the offensive to deal with the whiskered ones right away. Today, we start with our miniature prototypes for the smaller furbeasts, and one day we'll work our way into a full catbeast trap. But +1, all though it makes less sense in a realism aspect since you can always clearly see a mousetrap under its lure, I think that it would make matters more entertaining for people playing as mice.

HUMANS ON ROAD TO RECOVERY, NONHUMAN STOCKS STABILIZE Two weeks after the great Aurora Species Stock Market Crash, the nonhuman stocks have stagnated. All have either remained at their depression levels, or fluctuated by .01 points with the exception of Diona and Tajarans who have both decreased by .02 points. Humans have raised by .13 points, which could be an indicator of recovery, or possibly, a byproduct of the weekend surge. If we are to recover from the depression, or even to just remain stable, we must keep investing.

@TheRealGangstaSquigga Selfie Saturday, squiggas represent! Here's an oldie. #SelfieSaturday #Damnitfeelsgoodtobeagangsta Shkor-Dyet Dom'Pesh

I think I'll have to go with Jenn's method and make safety lectures mandatory for unfamiliar researchers. Additionally, I think Shkor'll make biosuits mandatory for them while he's RD to enhance survival rates, since there's now a toximate 3000 that hands them out for free in toxins.

See, the funny thing is, when we were given said safety briefing from Killerhurtz some months ago, we memed like that, and then Bling gassed himself. But still the rules were actually pretty good. They went something like... 1. Never open a manual release valve unless a tank is in the canister. 2. Always supervise your burn chamber until the fire goes out. 3. Do all bomb assembly at the toxin's launch area. 4. Announce all bomb tests ahead of time on public comms. And then there were two suggestions [That researchers should follow but were not mandated to.]
-
Aurora has been getting tons of new people, and one trend I've really noticed are people who join as bald scientists, drag plasma into toxins research, and immediately flub up and gass themselves. They also usually ignore me on comms in the process, but not always. I remember Killerhurtz's Skrell RD had some excellent rules in a safety briefing for toxins researchers (and I'd love if he could put them here), but how can we cut down on all these dead newfriends? Could we come up with rules for Toxins that could be standard for it and clearly put up on a wiki or something? I'm getting tired of all the toxins leaks and I'm going to start giving safety briefings to everyone.

I want everyone to know that I'm doing airsoft right now, and came into this thread just to shitpost. I could get shot while I'm typing this message.

SirXenomorph's Skrell Application
Mofo1995 replied to SirXenomorph's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
-1. My only experience with this player was a couple weeks ago, and I really don't think they should be given this whitelist: yet. You were a geneticist the round I played with you, and you refused Literally every single order I gave you, lied about getting executive permission to roam around with powers, assaulted officers and sparked a manhunt to be forcibly depowered, all during code red when there was a confirmed threat to the station, and you weren't even an antag. I would be incline to believe your RP has improved if it wasn't for the outstanding incident report where you continued ignoring orders from superiors to drive around on a cargo tug as a taxi service, something I was around for and witnessed. Maybe your RP has improved, as has been claimed, I haven't witnessed it, and you seem pretty humble about your mistakes, but I'd much rather this not happen until some time has passed to really demonstrate a maturation of your role-playing abilities. -
Viva la resistance! He dindu nuffin, the admins are corrupt, he wuz a goodboy, getting his RP back on track.
-
Aside from one round where most of the station got turned I to Run Fukoimoto clones, and everyone was convinced (ICly) that it was a plague, I've never seen this sting do... Anything really. It's a dead power for the most part.
-
Also bumping. I'm all about stylish armbands and would love to sport one of these on my human.
-
I really want the offline messaging system. I never thought I'd be so excited for emails, but I'd love it.

Giant scalies riding on even bigger scalies. I can only dream of this horrible war machine. Do you think this is a motherfucking game? Actually, yes, I do think this is a game, wanna fite about it? Two obrezs, seven paces.
-
Do other species have ancient gigantic extinct species on their planets too? Like maybe gargantuan mammals on Moghes, or supersized crocodiles on Jargon IV, or maybe giant penguins on Adhomai (the last one being a joke.)
