  1. This is the story of a parakeet named Charlie. (FLUFFYBIRB STAY OUT). TW: Feels. tl;dr: Birds don't lie down to sleep.
  2. Nah, -1from me. It's like you have no familiarization with Aurora's lore and never read the wiki. Jk: +1 gut RP, the server has much to gain from whitelisting the current Squid-master to let them play the race.
  3. He recently quit smoking and hasn't had a light in about four days, and is probably quite on edge at the moment.
  4. I liked the new lore, I read through it. So, the genophage is still a problem or is being dealt with slowly?
  5. I guess you can say the potential for banning voltage is high? 8)
  6. Ooh, shoulda bought lower, because today we have another update! Skrell are down .05 points, and Unathi after briefly being at .36 points yesterday, have somewhat stabilized at .38 points. THE TAJARAN THRONE HAS BEEN USURPED by IPCs which are on the rise at a whopping 1.15 points! Humans, after a long period of the server being hidden due to chucklefucking over the weekend, are down an incredible .5 points! Vaurca, who have seen a sharp decline in appearances on the server, continue tumbling down in points as they have now dropped to .5 points total. Diona seem to be stable. We may very well see a surge of investments into humans before and during the weekend as people economically prepare themselves for the weekend rush.
  7. Wow! Thanks Jrugl. As far as pulling things out of your posterior, loved it all. Would've gladly voted for him myself. Skrell pride galaxy-wide. Can't wait to see what else gets written!
  8. Reporting Personnel: Isiah Fraser Rank of Reporting Personnel: Scientist Personnel Involved: Robert Scott and Crew Patton (Offenders) chemists, Talia Gauss (witness) Biomechanical Engineer Time of Incident: About 23:45 Hours Station Time, 25 January 2458 to about 02:30 Hours 26 January 2458 Real time: About 12:45 EST -> 3:30 EST Location of Incident: Chemistry Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: (General description of the incident, to include as much detail as is deemed necessary) At the beginning of my shift, I went to the chemists in order to get my prescription of Citalopram which I take as an anti-depressant. There were two chemists present, named above, and one of them tended to my prescription and gave me a bottle full of pills, each of which were labelled "Citalopram (5 Units)." Which was my prescription. However, I noticed throughout the shift that taking my pill was seemingly doing absolutely nothing for me, and depression started setting in. I even ventured to take a second pill, and still there was absolutely no characteristic mood elevating effect which my prescription gives me. Using my signal ace cartridge in my PDA, I scanned the reagents of the pill to discover that the chemists had, in fact, given me iron pills and labelled them Citalopram. My girlfriend, Talia Gauss, and coworker, Irene Niequist essentially had to babysit me as I became a sobbing mess part way during the shift, and the chemists would not answer me over comms about the fact that they had completely failed to give me my prescription medication. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: None, the CMO went cryo by the time I found out. Additional notes: Depriving the depressed of their medication which they need to get through their day normally is incredibly messed up.
  9. I've had nothing but good experiences with FluffyBirb, and she's one of the very few people I know who can do Xenoarchaeology. She always brings good RP to every round she's in, and I had no idea Kala was 45. I'll give this a +1 for certain.
  10. I'd like to point out the minimum age for a head is staff is thirty years old. But other than that, so far I've seen racist and even anti-semitic quotes over comms from this character on extended that makes me believe he wouldn't be a good fit. I'll keep my eyes peeled though.
  11. I un-ironically agree with this in the context of Tajarans in the food industry.
  12. They were everywhere, and immune to damage. I don't think we were winning so much as trying to survive. Not to mention the casualty.
  13. I also need access. I am told I am restricted from it.
  14. I think that the recent trend of influencing round type votes may perhaps be getting a bit out of hand. It started off relatively simple enough, but it seems now that the start of every round is subject to being filled with "X type please!" I don't claim to be innocent of it myself, but I think that this may be causing a certain amount of salt for players who don't like the outcome. Specifically, I'm referring to the outpouring of dissatisfaction every time extended is voted in. So, I thought I'd start up a discussion here, do people think there's a persistent and present problem with the current state of round-type voting? Or is everyone all right [with the current state of affairs]? Edit: Added in bracketed area for clarification.
  15. THE AURORA-JONES SPECIES MARKET COME ONE COME ALL TO THE AURORA-JONES SPECIES MARKET! This is where you will get semi-frequent updates on the stocks of different species (the average amount of a race per round), along with a brief summary of trends and where your investments should go. Let's get started! A few days after the markets opened, here are the numbers! As you can see here, Humans are king, Unathi have gone down steadily since the markets opened and are incredibly down on their luck. Vaurca started high, but have gone down since, exact numbers unavailable for reference. IPCs started below one point, opening up at .97 points or so, have have clawed their way up to 1.11 points. Tajarans are now on par with IPCs after reaching an all-time high of 1.13 points. Skrell opened the markets some days ago at .64 points and worked their way up to .67 points yesterday before falling back down to .66 points today.
  16. I agree. I think it will do wonders to help us identify the lesbay menace. But jokes aside, I sincerely like the idea of adding socks to the game and really want to wear some socks.
  17. I, for one, really like this. I think it contributes well to roleplay with the subtle resistance, and I thinkt hat it would look really nice on Irene. Not to mention ties to her backstory it might have which would also help. Plus, there's a dreadful lack of scarves on the station.
  18. My most fond memory of Manfred Hayden was when three other characters who won't be named and I all got incredibly high on mindbreaker toxin, and a shitton of Manfred Hayden clones started attacking us. We grabbed whatever makeshift weapons we could, and in our minds, we were a squad in a war fighting against a Manfred Hayden army. When the drugs wore off, we found out our "injured soldier who got shot" actually stabbed themself with a screwdriver in the drug induced haze. So I'd say I had good experiences with him.
  19. Also -1 from me. You were the ire of command comms as an example of an incompetent worker, and literally everyone in your department was attesting to your inabilities. I don't mean to be mean with this, it's just you should really hammer out the mechanics first and reapply later.
  20. Wow, I had no idea how rare Unathi were. This actually surprised me. Also, the numbers for the first set of stats are unique instances, right? Or would a Skrell who was on for two rounds count twice?
  21. Within that timeframe, its not entirely unreasonable that Shkor picked up a bachelors in biology, but he wouldn't have gotten his Ph.D until far later. His plan as a young adult was to be a jack of all trades master of none, but of course it didn't pan out that way. I think it's entirely reasonable, if Morkai was teaching on Aliose, that Shkor could've been a student at some of his lectures.
  22. Literally why would anyone pick Lola other than pity for her? It was almost mean/a trap for nonsurvivalists to put her in there. And Mary Anne too! I'm sure they're there to test humanity, but I think for the best grade you should warp it according Zundy's suggestions. Take only strong able-bodied men and breeding stock women and start writing some crap about starting civilization anew as Fuhrer.
  23. The reason behind this person's ban was having exceedingly improper characters, and a condition for unbanning was (if I'm not mistaken) to come up with a reasonable character to show to staff. While maybe records aren't the necessary way to convey this, it is one applicable way to do so, and the primary vehicle through which this disciplinary action / response exchange has been conveyed. The reason for the ban actually was records. Seon's roleplay improved dramatically in her last days and Meta was doing very well and really learned how to temper and moderate their actions. The reason she was banned was because her records were discovered and found to be unbelievable, Dea told her to fix them and there seemed to be problems accomplishing that.
