1. RECESSION DEPRESSION BREAKING NEWS! The Aurora Species Stock Market is in full recession! Humans are down a full .23 points, and Vaurca have reached sub-Unathi levels! Diona have dropped dramatically, and Tajarans have fallen below that precious 1.0 point mark. Skrell are down .9 points, and, possibly following the Gruber law, IPC's are racing to drop below the 1.0 point mark. EVERYONE INVEST! While the markets are low, you can invest now for a quick and easy money return! (Play your aliens people!)
2. Aside from once on a crew manifest a day or two ago, I haven't seen a Vaurca in game in at least two weeks. Did NT call an exterminator? Where are all the bugs?
3. I like it a lot, sounds great to me, really excited about the new Skrell lore!
4. I think cyborgs and androids should stay in. They're a very substantial construction for the station, and take a lot of resources to make. but I think robots are insubstantial enough to be removed from requiring a form. Maybe I'm just weird, but paperwork is so simple and easy to fill out I don't see why it's that much of a problem. If your reasoning is that RD's are starting to enforce a previously ignored rule, then that means there's someone present who can sign the forms for you often, meaning you're not prohibited from doing your job. And in their absence, who's going to stop you from just making things?
5. ((Fix it so that Eugene can get his Sexy Tajaran Ladies.))
6. Isiah nods slowly, only partially paying attention to Sophie at first, his attention keen on the Unathi who has shown up and asked someone to ease up. They both look vaguely familiar, but he can't put his finger on who they are, only that they work on Aurora as well. He looks back down at the table to see his briefcase being wiped off with a napkin, and silently watches for a little while. After an awkwardly long pause realizes he realizes he's been asked a question, and answers rather quickly, "Just my Mom, Dad, and adopted Diona son."
7. After waiting a few moments to properly assess that there is no real danger, Isiah climbs back up from under the table, and frowns when he sees his briefcase has had beer spilled all over it. He begins working the electronic lock on the briefcase, but it appears that it is no longer working. He grumbles to himself frustration, but then gives it up and returns his attention to his visitor. "So, if I recall correctly, don't you have a rich cousin who filled you bathtub with chocolate pudding?"
8. Bump a dump. Would like to make sure I'm not missing anything as a head of staff, been a few weeks.
9. Fraser looks at Sophie in surprise as she sits down next to him at the corner booth, his palms become sweaty, knees weak, arms- "Sssspaghetti." Says an Unathi waiter setting down spaghetti at a nearby table. Fraser smiles nervously at her. "Uh-huh, uh, hello. Didn't expect to see you here. Er, next round?" He could smell the whiskey from her breath, but he hails a passing waiter and orders two shots of whiskey. "So, what are you doing here?" He begins asking sheepishly, when suddenly he hears the word "Tajaran" being shouted from the entrance, and sees a flailing commotion bursting into the room. He can't get a good look at it through the dim lights and the smoke, but then he hears a shout, "HE HAS A WEAPON!" Thinking of articles on Tajaran terrorism from the newscasters, fearing the worst, and being the bravest man alive, Isiah dives under his table at the booth, bumping the table in the process which spills beer all over his briefcase and the table.
10. There is roleplay to add here. It is a serious disincentive against donning the hairstyle as people learn first-hand the impracticality of it. We should show them the hair is impractical as a means of cutting down on the fashion trend rather than tell them its bad because we don't like it. Unless NT adopts a formal dress code for all of its personnel, I think this is the best way to go about it since all the reasons for removing it revolve around: NT wouldn't accept that. Yet I'm free to board the station with ridiculous mohawks and dwarf beards, which also would not fly in a realistic professional environment.
11. I want them to stay with enhanced danger so that Hatsune Miku rip-offs can get scalped on station. They'll have a lot of problems being Kawaii with no flesh on their head.
12. Super capacity power cells are really cheap, can be researched with extremely little effort, and could easily be mass produced from both the exosuit fabricator and the protolathe. However, aside from droids and borgs getting upgrades at robotics, nobody ever asks me for them. Try placing a bulk order sometime. Assuming an RD is around for the equipment requisition form, you could get a bag-full of super caps easily.
13. YOU'VE BEEN VISITED BY THE ROBOTICS PHOTOCOPIER. TONER INK AND GOOD QUALITY PHOTOCOPIES WILL BE YOURS, BUT ONLY IF YOU POST "Thank you Baycode!" IN THIS THREAD.
14. I really like this idea. IAA's have to have command staff level understanding of rules and regulations which comes with a healthy dose of browsing the wiki. Furthermore, there is a burden on IAA's comparable to Heads of Staff in their loyalty implants, as well as their abilities to really mess people up bureaucratically. All in all, it's something that really shouldn't be entrusted to someone who could be a total outsider to the community given the weight of an IAA's responsibilities.
15. So, I'm not going to put a -1 or +1 on this application, but it's worth noting that the AI was subverted for well over an hour and had killed many crew members by the time Richter approached to deal with it. Zex (the nuke-op who made the law, this was the round where Jenn should've won an academy award for her heart-wrenching acting as Red) made a very nasty law which encouraged the AI to hurt as many people as possible. Multiple people tried to enter the AI core and became dead by its turrets over the course of this time, and every time someone came to get blasted we were saying: "ANOTHER CHALLENGER APPROACHES THE GAUNTLET!" There was even speculation as to if the AI had killed more people than us Nuke Ops over the course of its rule. Does this excuse a telekinetic X-ray vision hulk from saving the day? I'm no authority on that. But I seriously doubt that anyone ICly considered this a bad thing given the AI's lethality.
16. At the request of Xanderdox, I renamed the Alpha Centauri Aliens to Xanderosians. It turns out they have no worlds in Alpha Centauri, but Kirovs wiped the floor with all their ships that couldn't escape. However, they still have small quick 1,000 ton missile ships which I had to leave for two years and return with better resolution fire controls to take out. I also got to roll out my new Zhadonov frigates with their super spinal mounted laser cannons, and turned Alpha Centauri into a Xanderosian graveyard.
17. So, as it currently stands, you said on server that a Skrell can have 1-3 children in a life time with the help of exceptional fertility treatment. I like the 1-3 number, but I think the "extensive fertility treatment" thing much be a bit much, as I think it implies massive fertility treatment centers all over Jargon just to cater to the needs of all the ladies, and could be too much also given the lack of romance Skrell have. I suggest a better alternative might be that the genophage was partially undone on a species-wide scale, and that 1-3 in a lifetime is the result, with no further breakthroughs in sight. EDIT: P.S. you should check out my lore canonization request on Nazi Hunters: Skrell Edition and give me your thoughts.
18. The exosuit fabricator does. This one time, a roboticist acalped herself twice in a shift, and I can think of two other scalpings. I like the idea of there being more negative mechanics behind it rather than removing it.
19. I'm really curious about what someone could do to incite such... passionate praise from someone. What'd he do, ERP with you?
20. This right here brings endless ire from myself. But, on the subject of floor-length braids, it already is a workplace hazard, mechanically. At least three times I can think of come ot mind of roboticists getting themselves scalped by their exosuit fabricators because of their hair.
21. Even better than the prospect or ordering them, how about making them construct-able machines using a board from R&D? Edit: Something like this maybe: Circuit Board (Field Generator) X Glass 20 Sulphuric Acid E&M Level (4 or 5? Pretty advanced I'd think) Data Theory (3 or 4) Then for machine construction, it could use a machine frame, the board, some cable coils, maybe a manipulator, a laser, and a scanning module? Just some ideas.
22. Vitellia is a man I'm always happy to see on station, especially when I'm playing as RD, especially when he boards as captain. He goes above and beyond, he's not merely just competent at his job, he's really good at it. Generally, I feel much safer when I know that he's in charge, and pretty disparaged when he dies.
23. This happened at least three times my senior year in my high-school. The perpetrator was never apprehended, but many were accused. The same also happened in my father's high school, except he was a "serial pooper." Specifically, they called him the "mad pooper" and he did terrorist-like poopings all over the school, his crowning achievement being the pooping of the principal's office. He was also never discovered or apprehended.
24. Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Faction Founding/Settlement Date (if applicable): 2056-2192 Region of Space: Jargon Federation Controlled by (if not a faction): Glorsh-Omega (2056-2192), leaderless (2192-2458) Other Snapshot information: Skrell (and diona) who, through various degrees of loyalty, persuasion, or coercion, collaborated with and even aided Glorsh-Omega during his dominion over the Skrell. Long Description: The concept here is very similar to the concept of Nazi collaborators from World War 2, except Glorsh-Omega was very much a product of the Skrell themselves. As established in the new lore, the Skrell put a large degree of focus on logic and did not really have a concept of brutality and the evils of war. So, some Skrell may have earnestly came down with the "Good Tsar Syndrome" where they believe that Glorsh's seemingly evil actions and decisions were made based on factors which the common population may not have been aware of. The people comprising this group of earnest supporters would've likely been roboticists and biomechanical engineers who may have had difficulty coming to terms with the notion that their beloved creations could turn to cruelty and seemingly evil actions without very good reasons. However, this would be a minority of the overall "faction," and the most hated of the entire group. The rest would comprise of Skrell who, while alive under Glorsh-Omega, collaborated with them through either fear or other ulterior motives by informing on or backstabbing their fellow Skrell to their synthetic authorities. And, lastly, it would've (correct me if I'm wrong, however) been the case that there were community leaders and administrators, as well as possibly authorities, among the Skrell who would have facilitated and executed some of the demands of their most supreme and logical leader. These people would have likely had some sort of collateral in the hands of Glorsh, and would've been used as expendable assets when cracking down on freedom fighting cells, or even as a backup/insurance against EMP. After the occupation of the Skrell ended, these people found themselves in a most precarious position. On one hand, some of them were trained in the ways of real combat rather than the games they played before, and would be needed to make the new Skrellian warriors. Additionally, many of the former administrators and leaders of the Skrell had not survived the occupation, either through being terminated for disloyalty, or for the potential to be disloyal. Some of them lucked out and escaped justice, much like Wehrner Von Brauhn, but the majority of them were hunted and persecuted for the betrayal of their race. All though many of them were found and hunted down, there are still those out there in hiding, trying the best they can to put their dark past behind them, growing old with fake names in varying reaches of the Federation. To have or have had a family member who was a known collaborator is a great shame for entire families, and they are scorned pariahs in their communities.
25. Dr. Fraser is sitting in a corner booth, the smoke permeating through the room piquing his desire to kickstart his addiction once again. He sips at a tall pint of a lager and checks the watch on his wrist, 10:27 PM. He shifts uncomfortably in his corner booth seat, sweeping the room with his eyes in the hopes that his girlfriend had somehow received his last minute email, but doesn't seem to spot any acquaintances. He takes another sip and checks his watch once again, repeating the routine of shifting uncomfortably, licking his lips as he spots a man at the bar light a premium cigar with a zippo lighter. Even in the room full of finely dressed people for the noir setting, Isiah realizes he is overdressed with a suit which makes him look more like a stiff than a suave, and he's even in possession of the secure briefcase he takes to work, nothing but pens and blank papers locked within. Along with these is a single rose which has lost most of its pedals, now scattered throughout his case giving it a distinct scent which permeates through the air every time he opens his case. After what seems like an eternity, he repeats his usual routine of sipping, shifting, and scanning to find that the time is still 10:27 PM, however he spots the familiar face of Dr. Sophie Abbot. Owing partly to his gratuitous social cunning and mastery of all elements of charisma, he immediately makes it his god-given duty to avoid all eye contact, instead opting to continue his repetitive nervous routine, potentially for the rest of his night if need be.
