[1 dismissal] Double sided courtesy policy for ahelps/tickets
Juani2400 replied to Kaed's topic in Rejected Policy
This seems like non-issue, probably coming from isolated situations. When a ticket is closed without any answer is normally because: 1) We are bulk-closing a bunch of them. Normally we'll contact you if the ticket is relatively recent or there was a resolution pending (in the latter case, normally we just go by 'handled' or similar), otherwise it is pointless to ask if anything else is needed for a ticket that was taken 20 minutes ago. 2) You were not an involved party in a process, and just a witness. This sometimes happens when we are wrapping up a situation and we simply asked you what you saw, or whatever. Sometimes we'll just forget thank you for the help and just close the ticket together with the rest of the open tickets of the situation. 3) The most common one: we forget or don't notice. Normally we'll wait a bit or be clear that we are concluding the ticket ('thanks for your time','have a nice round') and wait for a response, but mods and admins are humans too and we are not always on the same mood, or always remember to do it. Sometimes we have limited time, as well, due to external circumstances. If you feel you have something more to add, or want to express your gratitude, or whatever, you can always create a new ticket or just say 'thanks X' over OOC. We will not punish you for it unless you are just arguing for the sake for arguing after being told something was over. I do understand having to retype the whole thing is a pain, but unfortunately that's how the mechanic works. We try to remember to give enough time, but it is not always possible due to everything I said above. I'll be voting for the dismissal of this proposal, since it has no possible implementation from the policy side, and is also unneeded. -
This is really not the place to argue this matter, as neither I or the admin subject of the complaint have any relation whatsoever with the thread or the handling staff. You are free to talk about this with the headmins for a solution, or with the handling staff (which are Abo and Cnaym).
-
Sorry, I was referring to the ban request that was recently archived. Staff is still working on it despite the OP requesting its withdrawal, as several other people raised various points. Since it may affect how this complaint is handled, we will wait until it's been resolved and then start the process with this one.
-
Hello. I will be handling this complaint. However, since there is still an open front on the now-retracted complaint, it will be slightly delayed until a resolution has been reached by the handling staff before starting the process on this one. That should happen in the span of a week, at most, probably. Until then, you can continue to discuss the points raised in this thread.

Not true. All of the mandatory questions with the exception of Fav. Headdev and Fav. Headmin had an N/A option. Those that didn't were not mandatory in the first place.
-
My only clique are the mods, and they failed me. Too bad I can modify perms. Do you know where this N/A lives? Might drop for a cup of coffee sometime.
-
I'm with you on this one. 3 categories plus the characters, and got none.
-
And they are finally here, ladies and gents! The 2019 community awards poll results! Some notes to consider about the process of filtration and gathering of the data shown below: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory fields in the survey. These encompass mostly the staff sections, but consider that in most cases, there was a N/A field, available, with the exception of the first two questions of the poll. Some sections of the modmin team include multi-selection questions. The percentage next to the number of votes is over the total of votes in the category, including the N/A options. It was mandatory to select at least one of the options, up to 2 or 3. One of the options available was N/A, in case you didn't want to fill out the question. For characters, and open-ended questions, only when the full name was written properly was the vote taken into account. For certain questions, due to two different characters getting the same amount of votes, the criteria was changed and the improperly formatted names were also taken into account in order to point to a clear winner; this was applied to all of the votes in that question. The awards questions have only two listed names, since it was often found that the third contestant would not get a similar result of votes close to the second. Any questions you may have about the process, feel free to contact me directly via Discord, or similar. No personal results will be given outside of this poll's posted results. The total number of participants in the poll is 134. Consider that we'll have the CMO as a full doctor, as well. So we can have a single physician plus the two surgeons. Thats a total of 4 doctors, which is still a lot, but at least less than the current 6. Maybe have a single surgeon instead? So that's three doctors in total, and the two nurses.

As much as I appreciate the effort of writing a biography for your character, that does not help the case for the effects of this unban, since it was not the reason for the punishment being applied. Now, to the point. You already explained what caused the ban, and that is correct. However, you fail to mention that there is a similar incident which occured just the day before the ban that earned you a warning for the same exact situation: Why should I trust you on what you are saying if you were already told that what you were doing was wrong and already given a chance to ammend it, failling at it and getting the ban? Not only that, but you mentioned (and edited out) on this very same complaint that you attempted to ban-evade via other accounts and VPNs, which is a severe offense against the rules of the server (and any other server for that matter). Even after being applied the maximum level of punishment we can apply, and being informed on how to get the ban removed (which is only via appeal or staff complaint, not begging) you still decided to attempt to circumvent it and appeal it after failling at it once again. I'm not particularly fond of lifting this ban, as I don't have any way to prove your claims of improvement nor have you given me reasons to trust you with it by trying to evade the punishment and attempting to hide such information from staff. Appeal is denied. Feel free to attempt a staff complaint on me if you wish to have a chance to have my decision overridden. This topic will be locked in 24 hours and archived then.

I'm super interested in learning to actually code. I've tried a few times, but ended up abandoning it due to me not wrapping my head around writing it. I can probably help with mapping. If you have any questions, you can ask.

Two days to go. Feedback is still a requirement during the trial phase, since I am not able to judge the quality of your play otherwise. If this is not met by the 23rd, an extension of three days will be given. I've also noticed you've been playing as non-Command with your new CMO, which is not ideal for the process. Please attempt to play the highest amount of rounds as Command, which should not be hard considering you've supplied two different characters for two different roles. Good luck!

[Denied] DeadLantern's Command Application
Juani2400 replied to DeadLantern's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Hello. I will be handling this application. Before we move into the phase of considering a trial, I'd like to gather a bit more feedback from the community, specially since you already had the whitelist before the ban. People who has interacted with your command characters in the past. -
I have seen no improvement in regards to their history on the server. As such, I can only support the request at this time. Although I would seriously consider just banning them from Discord, since I do not think restricting server access will be required. This will be discussed among staff, and assigned to someone to handle (most likely a headmin, given the case).
-
Let's remain on-topic here. If that's an issue, report it on Github if it hasn't been already. This is not a thread about the maintenance access.
-
Hello. Apologies for the delay on this application. I've decided not to ask any further questions after re-reading the whole thing. Most of my doubts will get answered once I can get a grisp on how to do during your trial, since they are mostly aimed towards the practical part of it. In any case, there's something I want you to ammend before I make a decision: You are being asked what the OOC purpose of a head is, and you replied with an IC definition. Please review this and answer the question properly. Quote me when you do reply to this. I intend to make a decision today or tomorrow at most.

Hm. Potentially could do the 'alarm' or announcement only trigger if the glass is broken. But it could be swipped open with a command-level ID.
-
After reading through a few suggestions, what about we put a few of them together? We can make it a glass-cage thing that is located in a wall within the bunker's command center, which requires a Command-level ID to swipe open and it generates an announcement? Or at least a message in the Command frequency. It would also be hackable via crypto-sequencer. Would still be pretty easy for the antags to get to it (considering they have gotten their hands on a Command-level ID, which is the trickiest part and I think could add some spice to it) and still be guarded properly for such a critical item. Consider that the Captain's spare grants the carrier access to absolutely everything, including the failsafe system (I mean, yeah you don't have the code, but you can access it), vault or the AI. I really don't like the fact that the ID is not accesible to all other heads, since that doesn't make sense. Having to hack or ask the AI for permission into an area you simply don't have authorization to get into it's kinda iffy. So I'm against leaving it in the Captain's Quarters.
